If we're getting linked to Silva, Big Sam, Dyce, Unsworth, the Wolves manager? etc, how come Eddie Howe s not been mentioned!
Not saying it should be him like but surely he shouldn't be dismissed alongside those names!

Because he’s pretty poor and basically the English Martinez.

Eddie Howes done wonders at Bournemouth and is far from the ‘English Martinez’ Swan. I get that that’s just your opinion mate but how did you make that assumption?

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Nov 2017 12:56:36
He’s done well with Bournemouth but I doubt he can take them any further and that’s not just because it’s bournmouth, nice passing football but defending is terrible not to mention he gets homesick up North.

And Eddie Howe is a blue.

latest in the rags apparently we will go back in for the Silva increasing the fee and doubling his wages and a hefty Jan warchest.

It reminds me of Southampton GB. They said Koeman couldn't go, then Koeman said he was interested and bang. We got him. Watch this space.

you right there Smit mate, as I said earlier once a club goes in for a manager they usually get their man.

Agree2 Disagree2

14 Nov 2017 20:56:37
And Silva Has said he'd be interested so it's probably just a matter of a big enough pay off to the Watford owners. And to be fair Watford would sack him in the summer if he doesn't get them higher than 8th.

still not sure of him though mate, i think Dyche would have been my choice after Simeone.

Agree1 Disagree1

14 Nov 2017 22:18:27
My only concern about Dyche is his erratic away form last season and his erratic home form this season.

Number 1 has to be Simeone, don't care if it's unrealistic, don't ask you don't get. I didn't think Liverpool could get Klopp because he was desperate for the Bayern Munich job and wanted the Man Utd job but Liverpool got him. If not Simeone then Emery, then you keep going down the list, not up the list, start with the best and if you can't get the best then get the second best and if you can't get the second best you get the 3rd best and so on. Can't have a small club mentality.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - to point out you are incorrect, Klopp wanted the Liverpool job, rejected United and never wanted the Bayern job. He has said both publically and privately that it would be impossible for him to take the Bayern job as it would be a betrayal of Dortmund. Klopp always wanted the Liverpool job, I know people who grew up playing with him and doing coaching courses with him and he always wanted the LFC job even back when he was starting out.

As for Simeone, I am not sure it is that unrealistic. He is busy learning English, wants to manage in England and there are not many options open to him. Things in Madrid are not good at this time, he has hit a wall and can't really take them any further. I don't see why Everton couldn't get Simeone.}

14 Nov 2017 15:16:29
Very interesting comments about Simeone Ed001. If it is feasible I don't see it happening until next summer, in which case we would need a short-term appointment until then with someone like Unsworth or Allardyce. What do you think?
Mike.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - if that was the case, I agree, though I am not sure the club would be willing to wait due to the prospect of relegation. I really believe Simeone just needs the right club, somewhere that has ambition and the kind of togetherness that Everton has with its fans as well.}

14 Nov 2017 15:26:07
Thanks Ed001, let's hope it happens, it it does it will be exciting times.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - you are very welcome mate.}

14 Nov 2017 16:02:17
I agree go all out for compensation, read some where today that we were willing to pay 8.5m for someone that has not done anything yet, Dyche is a better bet and I think he has earned the right to a bigger job if you ask me the guy has got Burnley 19pts already and played some tough games already.

14 Nov 2017 16:51:09
Fair enough Ed I remember seeing something either he wanted the Bayern job to replace Guardiola or they wanted him to replace Guardiola, either way the point still stands that I didn’t think Liverpool could get him but they showed ambition and did and we need to show the same

You’re very right in regards to the feel of the club, he’d be loved here, I think it’s a great fit and not just because I want him as manager :)

You recently spoke about Emery’s issues with Neymar and I know another ed mentioned Silva in regards to his coaching and stuff, have you heard anything negative about Simeone such as his coaching, managing etc.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - only in terms of him being very intense, which requires the players to buy into it. The players do love him though, so it is not really a negative. Maybe some people would say his style of play was a negative, as it is not as technical as the Barcas or Real Madrids, but I don't think that is such a bad thing. To be honest, Simeone seems to be very well liked inside the club, worshipped even.}

14 Nov 2017 22:18:06
How can anyone pick Dyche over Simeone? Dyche is a good manager and I would have him before pretty much all the favourites at the moment.

But Simeone is world class. I worship him for the work he has done already. If he came to Everton it would be enormous. Imho he's better than Mourinho, Pep, Ancelotti or anyone. Well worth the £8.5m imho.

Cheers ed

Would be brilliant to have him.

One way or the other I feel that the club should make some form of statement in terms of what their looking to do on the managerial front, it's a bit of a joke at the minute, if we're going to keep Davy for a bit longer let us know, if we're waiting til next season to get the manager we really want let us know. This silence is deafening and the fans deserve a little bit more clarity.

I think they’ve just done that by approaching Silva!

Don’t be daft Olleblue1878 we are only fans who pay what to many is a considerable percentage of our income over decades to support them, sometimes travelling abroad as well.
If there is one issue ( if you look up my posts ) I have being hyper critical of about my beloved club it’s their abysmal communication.
Sometimes your biggest weapon can be applied psychology and a simple statement to supporters can be worth its weight in gold .
Sadly few clubs recognise it .
Unfortunately we have to rely on the RED ECHO for information .
My opinion “ could do better “.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - The club has previously been upset by the abuse of fans - I explained that at the time and that is when the communications really dried up. They will now be very careful about what and when the say things to fans.}

{Ed002's Note - So the moronic response is the best you can come up with. You can very much see where they are coming from.}

14 Nov 2017 20:13:07
Moronic I certainly am not. Stop being so sensitive. Did I ask you a question!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - We could without the knuckle-dragging vegetables like you on the site. You spend months abusing the manager and the owners, acting like a complete jerk and then you start moaning when they get complete sick of supporters like you and simply stop bothering to communicate anything of note. People like you are the problem.}

Maybe it’s a smokescreen? Unusual to be still rumours and the Echo not confirmed it, it all seems to be National as much as not everyone likes the echo they usually quick with such things and must have close connections. It’s just a gut instinct saying things will move pretty quickly now and it maybe another candidate.
