I love big dunc but what he has done to kean today is a disgrace. To humiliate him like that in-front of a massive crowd is terrible . dunc out of all people should no how to evolve these kids. To do that today is a utter blow to kean probably the last time we will see him . The kids confidence must be at a all time low plus i think he didn't do to bad when he came on mad one.

In regards to Kean and be hauled off, surely something as been said or/ And instructions have not been followed.

When he came on Richarlton was seen pushing him into middle, seemed he either didn't want play there or ignored big dunc.

If it was for no reason but as big dunc stated to "waste time" then yes the treatment of Kean is harsh And unwarranted.

Could clearly see neither looked at each other or handshake so obviously more to it imo.

Maybe just maybe that's been the problem within the club of late and led to Silvas departure, everybody knows he was a nice guy but maybe didn't carry the ruthless authority needed to get the best out of this group of players, so if it is a case of Kean failing to listen/ not following orders then Big dunc should actually be applauded for showing his authority, 1 things for certain a certain other Scottish manager going by the name of ferguson wouldn't have stood for no lack of discipline/ ego whoever it is and he didn't turn out be a bad manager did he.

We shouldn't judge until we know the facts. Big dunc breathed new life in club in 2 games don't need to get on his back over something none of us are clear about and cause friction. UTT COYB.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i dont pretend to know what went on there mocker but it looked bad that a young kid was treated with such disdain, dunc has done brilliant over the past 2 games but i feel this is a bit of a blot on his copybook the way he just ignored him when he came off mate..

15 Dec 2019 18:00:57
I was at the game today and I have to agree. To sub a sub is disgraceful. Kean was running around and was an out ball.

Agree2 Disagree0

15 Dec 2019 18:11:36
Yes totally agree ed025 if it is a case of taken off for the reason big dunc gave.

But everyone including myself been puzzled and crying out for Kean 've given a chance. On evidence of today maybe he isn't following orders in training and/ or got a chip on his shoulder. We can't have prima donnas in the predicament we are in, we need fighters and those deployed to do their jobs as the manager asked of you. Can't believe that big dunc would blatantly treat him that harsh unless there as been a on going problem with attitude or a blatant refusal to do what's been asked of you.

Kean hopefully will take this on the chin and come out with the attitude 'I will effin show you! '. If not then yes may well lead to him going in January (Maybe that's what he is trying to engineer with his actions if indeed that's the case) .

No one is bigger than the club or badge.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i agree on that last bit mocker, but if kean had a bad attitude or was not performing in training then why would he be in the squad and used in the first place?, this is a young kid in a new environment and it looked bad mate..

15 Dec 2019 18:19:37
I thought Duncans man management was poor in his handling of Kean today. Perhaps that tells you he is not quite ready for the managers job yet.

Agree1 Disagree0

15 Dec 2019 18:21:34
Can't agree with you guys, the problem have had in the past is players not giving their all for Everton and the manager being too soft. Today Ferguson made it clear if you don't follow his instructions he will take you off. He is not going to give his real reasons for taking him off in an interview but I am sure he will be having words with Kean after the game. Kean needs to get this notion that he is the next big thing out of his mind. He has done very little since joining the club and has been disciplined for turning up late for team meetings.

Everton football club takes priority we must gain points or perish Duncan is our manager Ed, right or wrong (yes mate I agree he's wrong) we must go again with or without DF or Mk.

Did feel for the kid ed yes.

Not defending big dunc, just trying see it from another angle.

Took the shine off a good point today but rightly or wrongly decision made and we can only speculate on why.

Anyway fingers crossed this is the kick up the backside the kid needs and will be the launch pad for him.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - a kick in the teeth rather than the backside for me mocker, but thats just my opinion of course..

Totally agree bluemike and blue247.

Let the manager manage.

15 Dec 2019 18:37:56
Dunc took Moise off as he was too much off the pace of the match and knew it would hurt him as it has been done with Dunc in the past, he has said he will speak with the lad and we will move on, good on you Dunc passion is what we need.

Agree6 Disagree0

15 Dec 2019 18:43:16
2 press conferences and 2 post and pre match interviews.

To me its clear Big Dunc is Blue to the core. He has been measured and very tactful and respectful to the board, club, fans and players. He has clearly been very diplomatic.

I think he wants the job badly but more than that, he wants the club to succeed. Sorry but I don't think Big Dunc style is to justify himself or take prisoners. Mk gets a lot of support on this page, and that's amazing but clearly something is rotten in Denmark with this lad?

I doubt the lad was taken off for the reasons Dunc gave. He is the caretaker and as such I'm sure whatever it is he didn't like, he will deal with. Inside the club.

Agree1 Disagree0

15 Dec 2019 18:49:18
You can't second guess but you don't put someone on and haul them off at a snap for nothing even park football. Obviously had his reasons. A breath of fresh air as far as I am concerned, a decision taken.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - hmmmm..

15 Dec 2019 18:56:13
Good post toffeeapple mate, Big Dunc is privy to far more than any of us.

15 Dec 2019 19:28:59
I thought the lad looked gassed and is maybe carrying a few extra pounds. He obviously was given instructions when he came on and if he wasn't following them then that shows a disregard for authority and this was his problem in Italy. I want him to be a success for the sake of Everton but part of me feels that we have maybe signed the new Ballotelli.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - As I have previously explained he wants out.}

15 Dec 2019 19:36:13
I am told, it is a language problem.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Dec 2019 19:37:51
I think he will get his wish Ed mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Efforts are being made - Everton was always a stepping stone and not first choice.}

15 Dec 2019 19:39:54
I think Richarlison was the problem in this incident, if anyone was guilty of ignoring instructions it was him. When Kean ran on he went over to that side of the pitch and said something to him, Richarlison pushed Kean towards the CF position. Felt sorry for the lad and didn't blame him one bit for walking straight to the tunnel. The fact that there was nothing said between them, not even an exchange of looks, suggests there is more to it than meets the eye.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Dec 2019 20:00:38
So he should want out has been misused and mistreated by the club I think brands will be disappointed in the club and think it will go against Ferguson in getting the job if brands has his input.

Agree0 Disagree1

15 Dec 2019 20:09:43
Bluepotato, Ferguson spoke to Richarlison half a minute before Kean came on laying out the instructions of the set up.

Richarlison was following Duncs instructions to stay out wide and Kean as a centre forward.

On two occasions you could see Dunc shouting to Kean but being ignored.

Niasse did more in the couple of minutes he was on than Kean,

Walcott, Siggy and even Schnids knew last week they had to put a shift in and work for the team, and that they did.

Sadly Kean ignored instructions, didn’t put a tackle in and in my opinion was rightly subbed.

Had we had a midfielder on the bench, then I am sure Davies or a Iowbi would have got a rest late on instead.

We only had strikers and Martina left on the bench, so had to do a like for like swap and out of the attacking players, each one was fighting for the ball or holding the ball up, Kean was a passenger when utd had the ball.

Agree1 Disagree0

15 Dec 2019 20:21:24
Here are the stats for those criticising Dunc

Kean won none of his five duels with Manchester United players, and lost the ball six times while making no tackles.

Niasse, in contrast, won 50% of his duels and did not lose possession once while making two tackles.

15 Dec 2019 20:22:51
Disagree! it was strong management as MK was jogging about with no intent or desire and Dunc wanted to win.

Agree1 Disagree0

15 Dec 2019 20:56:15
I see both sides here. Mk has potential so we have been told and was great in Italy. He hasn't done much for us since he has been here and no matter how good he could be it's all just so called potential and how many times have we heard that throughout the years klassen, henan the swiss lad who I won't try to spell are just a few to mention. We have been screaming out for a manager who takes tough decisions and doesn't just play his favourites like Martinez so if Duncan thinks that there is an attitude problem (showing up late, not a grafter etc) then make a point and let people know that they won't just get by on who they are or what their potential could be. And let's not forget for one minute that most players don't give a rubbish about us the fans or the club they represent. As ed002 said we are a stepping stone for him. So he already has the opinion that he is bigger than us or too good for us, well maybe this is the wake up call that he needs for the progression of his game. He can't just get by not putting a graft in. So fair play Dunc I say but it is obvious now that the lad won't be with us for much longer.

Agree1 Disagree0

15 Dec 2019 20:57:08
Good article on bbc about the substitution. Highlights clearly that kean made no impact when came on and was way off the pace, not nice to sub a sub but may teach him a lesson and also sends out a message to the rest of the players.

Agree1 Disagree0

15 Dec 2019 22:38:56
I can't believe people are slating Dunc here for taking Kean off. I don't get why Moise Kean is on such a pedestal, he's not done anything to warrant it.

No player is bigger than Everton. A players feelings and emotions are not worth points. I think DF showed real character and let everyone know he was the boss. Follow his game plan or don't play. Well done big Dunc.

Agree1 Disagree0

15 Dec 2019 23:38:37
Was dunc right? Only he knows the stats suggest his decision was right, this goes either way, he comes out as a more focused player, or he catches the first available flight back. Which seams more likely.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Dec 2019 16:15:09
What must Tosun be thinking now? Keane comes on, then is taken off for Niasse.
Can't really argue with the big man. If anyone knows what a good striker is then he should know.

bad call on subs mate.

{Ed025's Note - im with you lee, what he did to kean was out of order..

Niasse should never be aloud to wear an everton shirt again if anything gordon or tosun should have come on for iwobi.

{Ed025's Note - i agree cw..

15 Dec 2019 17:16:19
Keane must have ignored something he was told to do, DF is an ex player ex striker he knows what this means to Moise.
However 18 mins. on the pitch sub and substituted?

Poor treatment of a young player. No class there.

Tosun got a run out last week from the bench, Kean and Niasse today, expect Gordon to get a chance next Wednesday.

Agree1 Disagree0

15 Dec 2019 21:49:35
So despite Niasse doing more in 5 mins than Kean in 18 mins (zilch no tackles and gave ball away) , you come down on a lad giving effort while criticising Duncan for realising his original sub was being carried.

Agree2 Disagree0

15 Dec 2019 22:42:00
I completely agree with you DFS. DF obviously wanted someone who would defend from the front like DCL but who was fresh. One thing you can't knock Niasse on is his effort. I'm assuming that's why Tosun wasn't chosen as well because he isn't mobile enough.

Agree1 Disagree0

16 Dec 2019 08:13:08
The Kean conundrum. We were already incredibly slow at the back, Coleman has never been a full back, he cannot turn and against Utd you are going to get exposed add Keane into the mix and equals trouble. You are going to need to defend from the front, DCL and Richarlison put in a shift, followed by Davis, Holgate etc! DF thought Kean would add to that mobility especially over Tosun. Alas Kean combination of language problems, discipline etc! wouldn't, couldn't, didn't want to put in a shift so hauled off. Niasse, whatever else you say about him, puts in a shift and is a nuisance.

15 Dec 2019 16:09:47
What a game I love Big Dunc 4 points from two top teams and in his interview at the end he was superb, when asked why he took Moise off just to waste time TRUE BLUE give him the managers job.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

15 Dec 2019 16:16:37
Yes he done well, but he has been lucky, Chelsea could have had 4, and todays game you go anywhere near a goalkeeper, its no goal, and the sub of Keen was a bad call, so no to Dunc yet mate.

Agree3 Disagree0

15 Dec 2019 16:18:26
Man Utd are not a top team not any more there a 5th to 7th place side where we hope to be pushing for a place and they played us off the park today.

15 Dec 2019 16:33:41
To be fair CW we have a patchwork team and a CB playing in midfield. Agree Utd aren’t what they were but to be honest, neither are we mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Dec 2019 16:34:40
Guernsey I thought we deserved more today than we did against Chelsea but the Kean substitution was bad management by Duncan. It wasn't to waste time and I didn't see why he did it but we don't know what instructions Kean had been given

Not the best handling of a young player that I have seen.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - your spot on bw, very cringeworthy what he did to young kean..

15 Dec 2019 16:40:20
Every team needs a bit of luck, but tell me, how many points would we have got out of them games with Silva?

Agree3 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - zero..

15 Dec 2019 16:44:24
Instead of pinpointed flaws we have taken 4pts from Chelsea home and Utd away would take that in a good season so to get it with problems we’ve had it’s superb.

15 Dec 2019 17:08:47
4 Point out of 6 is fantastic against those 2 sides, just what we needed after Marco's era, well done to Big Dunc.

15 Dec 2019 20:14:48
I think Richarlison should have been taken off. But Kean was obviously taken off for a reason. I did notice he walked and jogged slowly a lot.

If big Dunc has told him to close down like DCL does I can see why he took him off. Maybe he is lazy and has a bad attitude and that's why we haven't seen more of him.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Dec 2019 11:52:48
