Having been in a very dark place this week after Arse game I have refused councilling by watching Saemus's goal today. This so called 'fluke' is on '101 Great Goals' which is on a continuous loop.
I have now watched it 186 times and am beginning to feel slightly better.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

It was a world class finish, top bin and all instinct

Ratings: howard-6-needs to come off his line, hearts in my mouth all the time. Coleman-6.5-made up he scored but he had a very quiet game and struggled to get going. Stones-7-had a lot to do but played with confidence and is still learning. Distin-7-did his job, solid as usual. Baines-7-had to do a lot on his own as he had no support but did well against noone. Barry-9-what a player he is, tidied up well, passing was superb and got stuck in very well. Mccarthy-8-same as barry only didn't do quite as much. Deulofeu-6-jammy goal, if it hadnt taken a deflection it would of hit the keeper straight, he needs to improve if he hopes of jumping in barcas first team. Osman-not getting a rating as I will just get abused, let's just say he wasnt that good, to say the least. Mirallas-6-greedy as hell and didn't really do anything. Lukaku-6-did his usual mope around the pitch and yet again didn't win a header, poor first touch too. Naismith-6-worked hard but had to cover a lot of players out of position. Mcgeady-7-put in some great balls and took on declan john a few times, impressed me, did more in 20 minutes than osman mirallas and doofy loofy did in their combined play time. Barkley-6-should be starting, not on long enough to get going. By god goodison is vast becoming a library, so dull today, not the best performance mind you, let's just move on to the next game

Believable0 Unbelievable0

You really do have no idea about football do you. Osman for 3 quarters of the game was the main one with Barry putting a shift in. I lost count how many passing moves of Cardiffs he cut out, was the only one willing to play with Baines, almost scored with a great shot, won countless headers, kept the play moving and it was only in the last 20mins which is when he should always be subbed that he got leggy, but kept going and indeed had that shot before he went off. I think you were someone who just never made it as a footballer in school and live on FIFA computer games because you haven't a clue lad.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think McCarthy might be turning into a 'hider' as he rarely makes himself available for a pass by moving into space -
He was rubbish today - the amount of times our defenders had no outlet because he was strolling around miles away from the ball
Have been a fan so far but I'm starting to wonder if him going missing in centre midfield is what's causing us to look poor
We were rubbish today
Mirrallas and Gerry were terrible - Gerry doesn't deserve to be in our team let alone barcelonas - he will get edged out now by mcgeady who looks miles better
Gerry looks like a spoilt brat moper when things don't go his way

Ooo hark at the slimcea girl, its called an opinion, sorry are you a premier league footballer? I thought not, I don't play fifa, I have a huge dislike for the fools on youtube making millions of it, osman messed up so many moves, he was too weak and as everyone else in the ground pointed out due to the abuse he was getting when he was subbed off, he was poor, i'm no expert, but going round like that mate shows me you dinnt make it as a footballer either,

Agree0 Disagree0

Swan U need to get let leg over Moor mate ye might be happier from time to time mate forget how we played we got 3 points an that's the b all an end all

Agree0 Disagree0

What game where you watching Swan. Barry was average and could be faulted for the goal as his man got in front of him and scored. I will give you McAidey done well when he came on. The back four done ok, Mirallas was poor today, Delo and Lukaku where not great and should have done better in front of goal, Barry, Osman, and McCarthy played well first half but all 3 faded the more second half went on. Over all we were not great today, but we deserved to win as Marshall was man of the match with lots of great saves. This should give us a bit of confidence to be better in the next game, plus Jags should be back, so not all doom and gloom. COYB.

Agree0 Disagree0

Howiebluenose, you forgot to mention that Osman also had an assist for the first goal. A lovely little pass to set Delboy on his way. Swan does not like Ossie. Never has done and never will. He says it is about opinions when talking about his own, but as soon as someone else puts their opinion forwards, he resorts to either abuse or insults or both. Having said all that, he does put some really funny sarcastic comments on that I really enjoy. I think I may start an Ossie appreciation society and see what Swan says to that.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd love to know the percentage of posts on this site that are simply bickering amongst fellow supporters! I don't get the extremes with Ozzy. There are those who say he is useless and should never play and those who think he is fantastic and is the best thing since sliced bread. I'm with Ed, the middle ground. Still has something to offer but perhaps not a starter when everyone's fit.

Agree0 Disagree0

Latchfordlad youve got it spot on. Swan no I never made it as a proffessional footballer but in 46years of watching Everton I know a decent footballer when I see one, you just have a case of scapegoatitis, someone gets it every season, Neville, Hibbo, Heitz, Jelavic(now everyone wants him back, ffs), Cahill even got stick, bet everyone of those was on your list at some stage. Keep posting, lad you're amusing if nothing else.

hi degs we meet again, I insulted no one, he insulted me, doesn't matter if osman got the assist or not he was still awful, lets, finally have an honest look at what he brings

negatives:
slow
weak
shot about as powerful as an 8 year old
doesnt track back
cant tackle
gives the ball away alot
slows everything down
no use on set pieces
always on the floor
not getting younger
kopite

positives:
nice little feet every now and again, as in once a season
the odd decent long range goal, about once every 3 or 4 years
final ball can be quite good

other than that he is about as useful as a chocolate fire guard, I don't like him and never have done because he is a little sh*t who gets special treatment despite offering very little, hibbert gets hate for not going forward but when does osman rip a holding midfielder to pieces? never, when does a winger rip hibbert to pieces? never, cannot wait for gibbo to get back

Agree0 Disagree0

Ha you're priceless lad, keep digging. I insulted you did I or touched a nerve more like. Jeez dread to think what you'd be like if I really insulted you. I would never really insult another blue, we all have opinions and i'm happy to listen to them, but in the words of Brian Clough "ive listened and heard your opinions with interest, so we shall just agree that i'm right.

same thing, touching a nerve, taking it as an insult, whatever I couldn't give a fudge, love hibbo, don't want jelavic back and love cahill, so nope you're not right there, doesn't matter how long youve been watching everton, all you needed was FACT at the end to complete it, i, may be half your age, phil thompson is older than me, does it mean he is always right? course not, jesus, calm down guy, don't want to know what it would be like if you 'really' insulted me, but since you don't insult other blues there was no point in you mentioning that, or was it a warning? a threat? course not, if i'm amusing then why bother, sit there and laugh, like i'm doing, in the words of the late great Michael Jackson 'HEHE'

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha, pffffffffffffffffffffff, keep yer hair on lad. Buy you a pint anytime, no threat there; its a genuine offer, would be happy to chat and have my opinion with you as you are with me. It just happens i'm right.

BBC saying Coleman's goal was a mirubbish fluke, I say pure class, he paused before he hit it, looked at the goal line situation and stroked it in looping over defenders.
If Sturridge had done it that shower on MOTD would be giving the usual cr*p.
Be interesting what they say tonight, if we're on for more than 23 seconds!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

It was incredibly obvious that it was a miss-hit.

Agree0 Disagree0

We beg to differ

Agree0 Disagree0

Mushy. that was a joke right?
Please say that it was a joke!

After reading it back. I am convinced that it was nothing more than a funny(ish) joke.

Agree0 Disagree0

He confirmed on MOTD that he was trying the blast it the other way. Little bit hopeful there, mushy.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ha, I'm just a very biased blue!

Mgeady was the difference when he came on, great skill and pace! His was positive every time he got the ball and was whipping good crosses one of which we scored from! Just shows we need to cross it more! Get the ball in the box every chance we get!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - for me si, our build up play is too slow, the footy is nice, but we need to move the ball quicker and with more purpose..

15 Mar 2014 21:23:42
Totally agree ed. I like barry, he's a hard working player and commonly gets plaudits from supporters, commentators, and pundits, and rightly so. He breaks down attacks, and his ball playing passes are great, but I have to say he is the player slowing our attacks down. Mccarthy very rarely drops as deep as him to collect the ball and move it on, but when he does the pass or run he makes is always forwards. Barry on the other hand either plays the ball sideways or backwards to centre backs and this passage of play gives opposition defenses time to gather their shape and put 10 men behind the ball, making it difficult to break teams down. I wouldn't mind him playing the ball to play 1 2's to move forward with it, but it seems he just wants to pass the ball around in our own half with the 4 defenders just for passings sake.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree our build up play has been to slow and we looked more of a threat on the counter when Cardiff had men forward. I think this has been the case for a few weeks now and it is down to confidence I think if we scored a couple of goals early on in a game we are going to give someone a thrashing and this is something we need to kick start our season and push on utd and spurs win and we win our game in hand we only 5 PTS behind rs and arsenal.

Agree0 Disagree0

If McCarthy could only be a bit more confident running with the ball and wanting it a bit more, he would be some player. His work rate is exceptional. His last ditch tackling is second only to Barry's. But he seems to avoid penetrating runs and shots at goals. I remember an almost air shot yesterday. I honestly think playing Barry and McCarthy together makes us too slow in the build up and lacking goals. We could play either one and put a more gifted forward thinking midfielder in.

Well a wins a win but, hell, that was turgid stuff. The stats are alarming. 68% possession but not a lot in the killing zone. Wait a mo - isn't that a Manchester United trick of the past 20 odd years, the goal in the dying seconds? Mind you, Delafou goes off as if he has had his backside slapped although he scored. what's the story there?

QB you cannot be serious mate, yes he may help us out but imagine the negative press, any prospective investor would run a mile

Agree0 Disagree0

There is no perspective investors degs so you can't really say that. And the club needs to be up for sale for there to be any buyers just because bill says its for sale doesn't mean its really for sale its been for sale for about six years supposedly

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree QB was thinkin same thing myself anelka would be a crackin bit if business to have him for 5 or 6 games would be a real coup he nos how to score goals worth a punt short term deal

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i have to say, i dont want him, i applaud WBA for doing the right thing, people like him dont deserve to earn top money, extremism in any form should be swerved IMO, but maybe some dont agree..

Sorry guys, didn't mean to offend anyone. I just thought he'd be a good acquisition due to his qualities. I really didn't realise the severity of his gesture. But I had thought it wad to do with the french comedian. Also ed I didn't understand the gesture to be extremist, but predjudice instead. but anyways, good win today! And sorry again

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - no probs QB, people will have their own views on him mate..

QB I can't agree mate. Anelka's a joke. The political gesture aside for a moment, he's hardly lit up WBA this season and Albion were happy to get rid. Wherever he's been (and that includes the RS) he has been an unsettling influence. He thinks better than others and didn't gain the reputation of 'Le Sulk' for no reason. And how many goals has he scored this season?
The racist gesture was premeditated and a sign that we should go nowhere near him. A wealthy player as a result of a succession of clubs. He lacks class and morals- hope he now rots. Football's better off without him.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - im with you davey..
