For Christ sake blues, if we are in with a sniff of Mouriniho, get him but insist Unsworth number 2.
Job's a good'n!

Great game today, was a typical example of us versus weaker opposition from past seasons, no messing around passing it round the back, just straight forward. Been a few years since we've seen a game like that. Nearly every time we've played supposedly weaker teams the last few years we've made a meal of it. Tom Davies looks some player as well.

It is also frustrating when we see that sort of game to know what might have been this season. If only Roberto's ego would have allowed flexibility when managing games he would still be in a job. As it is it has taken Wigan the same 3 years RM was at our Club just to get back to the Championship, that could have been us the season after next.

I apologise for my last post to everyone, still slightly fragile from the Martinez era, onwards and upwards, what was done was done and all that. Listening to Unsy on our youngsters the future is bright. COYB.

I wouldn’t all get to carried away at the moment with everton having a new investor and now are manager has left the club we all need to still be a bit worried as to who is going to be the next manager until that happens I'm still on the fence.

Moshri and mourinho are friends, moshri is a large shareholder in Everton fc who are in need of a new manager, mourinho is a manager currently in need of a new club, I have no doubt moshri has sounded him out about the job, maybe not an official offer more of a friendly chat, but we never know, going to be interesting to see who does get it.

A comment from the Newcastle Spurs match was very poignant and extremely relevant to our wonderful Club and its potential given the talent available. 'Imagine the finishing result if Newcastle had been given their heads and freedom to play and adapt from the beginning of the season'. I am sorry to say that unless Roberto is willing to adapt and accept (as we all do, whatever our discipline) that his Philosophy does need tweeking and adapting, his next position will result the same way as Wigan and our great Club under his jurisdiction.

Van Der Wiel's leaving PSG. Would be good right back competition for Coleman, although i doubt he'd want to sit on the bench. Anything going on there?

. I have to say on reflection of what we saw today maybe Jose isn't the right fit for our club. don't get me wrong - I'd dance to high noon if he got the efc job. but what we saw today in Davies, Dowell, Pennington and Kenny was some great youngsters coming through and could you really see any of these guys getting a chance under Jose? If you look at what Koeman has done at Southampton with the young ones like Ward-Prowse etc there and what De Boer has done with the young ones from the Ajax academy I think it would be common sense to assume that De Boer or Koeman are probably a better fit for where our club is right now. I was particularly impressed with 17 yr old Davies who reminds me of a young Peter Reid and I think him and Dowell should def. be at the very least in the 1st team squad from the start of next season. so my thoughts have today changed and after one of the most refreshing and encouraging days at Goodison in a long year I just think now that a Koeman or a De Boer would be a better fit for our club where we are right now!

I like the fact we have brought youngsters through and continue to do so in the future but kids don't win you trophies and if you take wenger's reign out of the acquisition the average length of a prem manager is apparently 1year 7 months so it shows our managers can't look to much at the youth side of things, that's the world we live in today, so yea mourinho may not be the best choice to bring youngsters in but mourinho would bring success, he is my first without a doubt and until he is unavailable he should be the only target.

Koeman before Mourinho yes. De Boer before Mourinho not so sure. Would be happy with De Boer but no premier experience still leaves doubt over how it would go. Don't get me wrong he could potentially be fantastic. My fav is Koeman followed by Mourinho. Either would be fantastic and add enormously to our bright future.

De Boer good appointment too but on the risky side compared to other 2. Have a feeling this time we're going to get a decent manager whoever it is.

Prediction. Leicester will not finish in the top 4 next season and Everton with the right manager will play proper football again, not predicting a Premiership win but back again into the top 7-8 where we deserve.

What a difference today was. If only he was released from his duties say January. Stand by my opinion that he lost the dressing room and today's performance highlighted that. The pressing from the front, the long balls over the top and the no nonsense defending of if in doubt hit it out. The system how I seen it was a 4-14-1 when we didn't have the ball and 4-3-3 when we had it.

We went in at half time 2 nil up and we had less possession than Norwich.
I know today we were only playing an already relegated side but you can only beat what's in front of you and i for one don't think we would have won that game as comfortably with Roberto in charge.

Good send off for Howard, i have been critical of him this season but happy he got the send off his 10 years service deserved.
MOTM for me today was Davies, this lad looks talented, can pass and tackle and likes to drive forward.

With the youngsters we have coming through maybe a De Boer Unsworth managerial team to move forward.
Onwards and upwards. COYB.

Think Unsy and Duncan deserve a forward position at the Club with Joe in some sort of overseer position and hopefully that is a go but a Unsy/ De Boer managerial team will not happen, if he comes then he comes with his brother.

He will Johny89. They are both a Team. Current thinking is that Stam will remain, mores the pity but would love someone at the Club or within Boer's advisory team (seem switched on) to bring in Weir or Stubbs as defensive coaches.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

15 May 2016 17:07:59
Koeman is very unlikely.
Benitez will probably stay with Newcastle - especially if he gets full control of transfers.
Mourinho is surely hanging on for the ManUtd job.
But what the heck do I - or any other fan come to that - know about the managerial situation?

Agree0 Disagree0

15 May 2016 17:24:25
This is what I think will happen regarding Mourinho, Manchester United will wait until after the Cup final then if he wins it he will get his last year if he doesn't then they will give the job to Jose.

so if Utd win cup I would expect us to get Mourinho as he wants to stay in England and we would be the closest he would get to being able to fulfil his ambitions. course I could be completely wrong :) just my opinion.

{Ed033's Note - That sounds logical, but logic and football management don't tend to go together.

I've just read Tim Howard's farewell letter to the fans. I would urge every Evertonian to do the same. What a wonderful, genuine, moving piece it is. The lad obviously gets what Everton is all about. I hope he has a fantastic day today and gets the send off he truly deserves. I can't be there myself but would like to take this opportunity to wish him and his family the very best of luck in their new adventure in America. You are a true, blue Everton legend, Tim.

I hope manager gets in soon as we need him to steady the boat, let's show the big names being linked with a move away we have ambition and that the new manager means business.
Get him in early to meet players before they go on hols, and he can look at strengthening the squad.
I haven't looked forward to the new season before like this.

{Ed002's Note - I imagine the idea of rushing a knee jerk decision rather than taking the time to ensure that the right person is appointed.}

15 May 2016 15:08:50
I would actually feel we should take our time, explore every avenue before making a decision. The players will be off in their holidays in a week or off the the euros so the ship can't be steadied before they return for pre season training anyway. May as well take the time and try and make the right appointment, I wouldn't mind if it took a couple of months to get someone in as long as it's the right candidate.

Agree1 Disagree1

15 May 2016 16:06:32
Well said Ed, it was partly due to the fans (and media to be fair) pressurising for a fast appointment that led to the knee jerk for Roberto and look how that turned out. Also am I the only one that thinks Mourino would not be a good fit for Everton, to be honest the way he has started I would rather have Unsy. The Team look an awful lot happier and the fans are also up for it.

Wonder whether we will be linked with more players or more manager's this week which one will win.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

15 May 2016 19:13:58
Managers or players leaving. Can't imagine us being linked to too many players coming in as we are manager less. Prob get linked to a few but generally a lot will depend on who the next manager is. Unless we're definitely going for the director of football type thing.

Guaranteed we'll have Barkley, Stones and Lukaku heavily linked to leaving at least if not more players. That's all part and parcel of the wonderful game.

Everton is a goldmine for the media and tabloids this summer and they'll surely make the most of every last little story.
