An agreement between the club and SportPesa to mutually cancel their sponsorship just been announced. Do any of the eds know if we already have something else lined up?

Hopefully we can move away from a gambling company sponsor.
Would be no surprise to see megafon on the kits next season.
Hopefully get a decent one in as we’ve had some hit and miss ones over the years - danka anyone?

Whether it's to enable a more lucrative deal or not, I'm happy to see the club ending the sponsorship deal. Online betting businesses make money out of people who get addicted to gambling and then ruin their lives. We shouldn't have anything to do with them.

At a guess Bluepotato, Megafon.

I’ve not bought the shirt since it had a betting company on it. So I’ll be very glad to see something more morally agreeable.

Let's hope it's not an alcohol selling company either. Alcohol kills more people than gambling including my brother at 55. I do drink but not excessively apart for when Silva was our manager!
Not sure what Megafon would get out of a sponsorship to be honest. What do they have that I can purchase on Amazon?

Totally agree with you all boys. I think that the kids who come to watch their team play should have the same sponsor on their shirt as the players, although I understand that alcohol, cigs and betting companies should be exempt from this. As another poster has pointed out in another thread, it was a nice touch having EITC on the shirts the other week but we really need to improve our finances so I don't expect us to have that on the front next season. Maybe there is truth to the megafon/ Usminov links for our new sponsor, we will find out soon enough!

Fair point to make there Mike.

So we can expect a new Shirt maker and a new main sponsor on it too in the summer. Still annoys me that there is a lack of shirt presence on the high street outside of Liverpool due to this awful kitbag/ fanatics deal.

Where would it stop though? Obesity is one of the biggest killers but if Maccy Ds offered us a boat load of money would we be ok with that?
Betting doesn't really kill people but alcohol does. It's a minefield to find a sponsor that everyone would agree with.

How about Disney Smit, everyone loves Disney. 😂.

I took my kids to Disney. They then sung “Its a small world” for the entire trip home and many years after that. You can definitely learn to dislike Disney.

I think we definitely have a sponsor lined up, you don’t end a deal that has 2 years remaining half way through a season without having something lined up ready to go, whether it has anything to do with our billionaire friend or a totally unrelated company is anyone’s guess, but Everton know who our shirt sponsors are going to be.

Great news to hear Gomes came through a game at Finch Farm with no issues, be great to have him back in the Team.

Absolutely. Love to see him getting even better under Ancelotti.

On another note, the club have just announced the termination of its association with SportPesa. Looks like they’re finding a more lucrative deal.

It was mentioned a while back that several clubs are in similar financial positions/ problems to us. With the recent news on City, is it possible to list which teams these are Ed and what their problem seems to be? It would be interesting to get a wider context of how much trouble we are in.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Everton's problems are nothing like Manchester City - they simply live well beyond their means. The same is true of Aston Villa. Birmingham City are on their second points deduction whilst Sheffied Wednesday and Derby have been charged. It is a range of offences including over-valuing the sale of their grounds (which could be an additional issue for Aston Villa).}

Cheers Ed. What are the main revenue streams for the clubs? I’m guessing ticket sales, sponsorship, money from selling players, TV money and merchandise sales are all major parts of income - where else can clubs make significant amounts?

For Everton to be able to afford the more expensive lifestyle, I'm guessing the new stadium may go a bit of a way to providing more ticket sales but wouldn’t think it would make too much of a difference.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - For Premier League clubs, broadcasting is the largest revenue stream, typically followed by of commercial/sponsorship and the match day income (which is very low for Everton - as a percentile the lowest in the PL). The new stadium will cost around £500M and will give the club crippling debt - the club already being seriously loss making and now mortgaged with a third party.}

18 Feb 2020 06:45:31
Cheers again for the quick reply Ed. I’m guessing this means the new stadium may not happen then if it risks us going further into FFP difficulties. It’s a shame as I thought we were regarded in the top 30 richest clubs in the world.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - The stadium is unrelated to FFP as it is excluded. What it gives the club is very signifocant debt.}

With the attendances city get for the champions League I thought like many of there so called fans that they were already banned 😂.
