Would anyone take Ravel Morrison? Would suit the martinez style I think.
Could be class but he's got a hell of an attitude problem by the sounds of it
16 Jan 2014 19:03:29
Bad attitude, would unsettle the dressing room, is so inconsistent he has about 2 good games all season and it annoys me the way every player 'suites' martinez's style of play, dannie guthrie suites are style more than yaya toure, still know who I would rather have, let him go to fulham, we don't need him

I would like to see someone like Berbatov come in.
16 Jan 2014 16:37:53
I hope we go for Steven Fletcher gives his all and would be just what we need up front .
Id rather altidore. if he were an every day starter for our team he would flourish
Would like to think we could do better than that.

Altidore is rubbish mate
Mike-Ox Long
Altidore? no way, he can't even hold down a regular place in a struggling sunderland side I think that tells you all you need to know boston.
To be fair to Altidore, he is a big strong lad with plenty of muscle. But I think his goal return is about 1 every 10 games. Alright for a center half.not a center forward.
Degsypulford
A player like altidore could thrive in our system. holds the ball up well, very strong, surprising pace, and he can dominate the box. i'm not saying he hasn't been a disappointment this season, but with the chances we create he could be almost a goal or assist a game player
{Ed025's Note - just the same as kone for me boston..

With Jela gone who is the most likely to come in? And would any one take Jay Rodriguez?
Reckon he could be a good player for us
He would be great but I doubt, even with the unfortunate problems they have, that they would sell to us.
16 Jan 2014 15:24:28
Are rangers not due a sell on fee from the jelavic sale to hull?
16 Jan 2014 13:26:43
You might all think I'm getting a bit carried away, But having seen videos ect and a few live matches of mcgeady If he can produce top form I can't really think of any other winger in the prem like him. He is a ronaldo type player bar the shooting haha and come February-March I think he could prove to be one of the signings of the month.
Coyb. Morata or batshuayi next please and quality cover for midfield
16 Jan 2014 17:22:50
Youtube videos are not reliable, I got excited about joel robles when we signed him after watching some of his saves for wigan athletic and he flaps more than a flightless bird, mcgeady is not much like ronaldo he lacks ronaldos strength, ability to win most matches on his own, aerial ability and energy, for 500k I won't be too annoyed if he flops but again I doubt he will do too well, still needs to burn off a few of those doughnuts and burgers he has been eating, get himself match fit and earn a place, all that could take a few months, morata is unlikely as we have a good relationship with barcelona and would ruin it by improving one of real madrids youngsters, I haven't watched michy play yet but at 20 he still has time to adjust and prove himself and will only get better, I'm a big fan of morata he has everything but again I think its impossible
Mike-Ox Long
McGeady showed real promise when he first came on the scene. He then disappeared and buggered off to Russia. If RM can get him performing to his full potential, then he may become a great signing. I remember being not too impressed when we signed Peter Reid. Past it, always injured and not too good on the ball. 27/28 year olds who showed promise as youngsters can sometimes be a good signing.

Jelavic open letter to the everton fans is boss. Well in Jella lad and good luck. ssn if u wanna see it
Just read it on the club website, paddock. You're spot on there, mate. Jella is more than welcome back at Goodison anytime. Some players just seem to know instinctively how to behave with class & dignity. And we're fortunate that so many of them have, & do, represent our great club.
IR(&K)IT
That's how to leave a club! Good luck to Jelavic (except when we play hull again :) He did struggle towards the end but has shown what a class act he is.
Read it myself. "Once everton touches you nothing is never the same". Good luck jela.
A fitting farewell from a good player who started so well but then lost his way and form in front of goal. At least he went a bang. Those 2 goals against QPR showed what he can do. I wish him well.

Eds do you forsee anymore signings before deadline day or will it be the usual last minute stuff on the day itself?
{Ed002's Note - We can't answer questions about timing.}
16 Jan 2014 09:59:12
If there is a fire sale at southampton do you think we should try to bid for any of their players if so who?
{Ed039's Note - Nobody knows what the situation at Southampton is yet, granted it doesnt look good but Katherine Liebherr will make those intentions clear soon enough)
Morgan Schneiderlin and Jay Rodriguez are good for us. Try once Bobby.
Lallana would be a fantastic addition
Let's not start circling like vultures. OK so there are some problems down there at Southampton and no doubt our previous manager will be checking the coins in his pocket and preparing a cheeky bid. But we're better than that.
16 Jan 2014 09:01:20
Deulofeu anybody know when he is back he could be the spark we need to push on for 4th spot maybe even higher. smashing player he is.
{Ed025's Note - end of the month apparently stef,..
16 Jan 2014 09:29:16
I agree Stef, I just hope all our injured guys get their fitness back as soon as possible and stay that way until the end of the season, with a couple of additions and our Manager we could actually get this 4th spot.
Oh yeh please don't get Kenwynne Jones, think it is all BS myself
Yeah can't wait for the injured players to return, but am made up with how we've coped without them.
Clean sheets, goals from central midfield and wing backs. Picking up the points yet not playing like we can. Yes it's hard with our flair players out but we've never shirked our responsibility to step it up with a bit of graft in the absence of craft.
Loving it right now

Just wonder what people think of this for a signing. Fc Nurnberg att midfielder hiroshi kiyotake.very good player.up there with honda.he would definitely be worth a look at.not sure but don't think he would be priced at silly money.
Deffo is mate I live in nuremberg and watch him week in week out very creative player I also think he is better than honda
15 Jan 2014 23:27:31
Hi guys, this may have already been debated so forgive me if it has and I have missed it.
I was just reading a few posts about weather or not we will be able to fill the last champions league spot. This got me thinking that if we fell short of this, would we be happy to finish 5th and qualify for the Europa league.
Although European football would be fantastic back at Goodison, having seen how it can disrupt the following season, especially with not the biggest squad. I am leaning more to the side of no.
Just be interesting to see what other fellow blues think on this point.
{Ed025's Note - its not likely anyone would turn it down mickey, but you only have to look at swansea and newcastle to see the hangover it can cause mate..
Check the voting poll about this very question.
I will take any Europe right now just to see how our new brand of football works against more technical teams that we get to play each week.
It's hard to say because its great to watch us in Europe, on the other hand the strain it puts on small squads for the little money you get may not be worth it

Went the Dons game last night to watch our youngsters playing for MK and Wigan. Only to find they had been withdrawn so as not to be cup tied. Pissed down all game and the football was awful. Until Powell came on, and he completely changed the game. Not sure if he's prem quality, but he is a cocky bugger and I think we will see him the prem one day.
Powell is on loan from Manchester United so will surely be playing next season.
I know that mate. But he won't get a game while your man is there.
