Per my previous travel research on Google, there is at least one pub and a golf course, so it can't be too bad.

Lincs, you have my deepest sympathy mate. I got sent down there in the 80's and it was a right ****hole then. We described it as like Brecon but without the trees.
I still remember trying to listen to Everton v Wimbledon on the BBC world service (the game where Vinny Jones butted Kevin Ratliffe) while standing in the middle of the biggest live firing range I'd ever seen.
Came back home underweight and badly wind burnt on my face. The only high point was stopping off at Ascension Island on the way back and getting hammered.
Enjoy.

From what I hear rhap it's certainly improved since then, we can wifi cards out there but the signal isn't the greatest, I was originally due to go to minhad (Dubai) so in comparison Falklands is poo :- (

Who did you upset to get spammed like that mucca? Sounds a million times better than when I went. There was only 1 flight a week in and out so contact with friends and family was minimal.
One of our lads (a staunch blue) got sent some photo's from his supposed best mate of his 5-year-old lad playing football in the park in a liverpool kit, he went nuts but couldn't do anything about it.
Take care down there and try and make the most of it.

Liverpool kit?! Heartbreaking! Thanks a lot mate, I'll be in November :-)

Can somebody tell me how the site are linked with Marcel brozovic from inter and we get linked with there cast off, sodding Joe Allen.

I know we need creativity in the middle of the park but Joe Allen would be scraping the barrel.

On the other hand I'd take brozovic in a heart beat.

I actually think that Allen would work well in our team. We could do with his passing ability as the only comparable player is Gibbo but let's be honest he's not playing more than 20 games in any season with his injuries.

Is it actually possible that Everton scouts did not watch Niasse before the Club paid out the alleged £13 million for him. As others have said this is probably the worse player I have seen in an Everton shirt.

Scouted by Kevin Reeves according to Martinez.

Watch him on you tube, yoy cab see he has good game awareness, first touch and technique. By no means a lost cause maybe just needs some confidence, game time and a manager who can bring the best out of him.

I trust koemans judgement, he will assess him pre season and if he thinks he's good enough then I think he deserves a chance.

My mate took his b licence last . January and on it was a analyst who works for Everton, he said he was told on deadline day morning to get as much information, clips etc on niase that day, that's how we signed him apparently.

Looks like we are getting new DOF from Leicester, get in there.

Is that confirmed Murf? I remember watching a documentary about Leicester last season and how Walsh kept going on about Kante and how much of a player he would be and kept going on to the management team to get him signed before it was too late. 12 months on and not only was he right they made a near 500% profit on the sale of him.

Few reports saying Leicester have lost hope of keeping him, also never went away with them, looks probable mate.

He was also at Chelsea and was influential in bringing in drogba and essien.

Be a good coup if we can get him in. Then hopefully the negotiations for players will begin.

Ok this will probably be a bit controversial but here goes anyway.

I'm sure that it is generally accepted that today's footballers are a lot fitter than those playing in yester-year. The fitness regimes are a lot stricter these days, as is the behavior of players when outside of the clubs.

This now brings me onto arguably one of the best strikers Everton have had, that is Bob Latchford. Bob was our highest scorer for about 6 years on the trot and if memory serves correct I think he was the first player to score 30 league goals in one season.

During his stay with us he became an Everton icon. . My problem is I didn't and still don't buy into that. I think skill wise no one could get near to him but actual work rate I always remember it being very poor, he wouldn't in my opinion chase a ball. I always associate him being a lazy player.

Had he been part of todays fitness regime within professional football I honestly feel we would if got another 10 goals per season from him. Today with the skill and his eye for goal he would be a real world class player and would walk into any team if he was fit, but if he had the fitness he had then, he would not even get into league 1 football. ( maybe that's a little harsh )

Do you think all players who played for us yester-year would be better players now or do you think any of our icons would not even get a sniff in todays game.?

I remember Bob Latchford vey well. He was not a lazy player. He was strong skillful and instinctive in the box. If Everton would have signed a decent keeper we would have won some trophies and perhaps the league with
Latch, Davie Thomas, Martin Dobson etc. Dopey Dai Davies and useless Lawson cost us plenty.

I agree WellZee he was strong, skillful and instinctive but that does not mean he would chase a ball or go the extra yard, Now that may be because of lack of fitness or laziness. For his day he had the potential for being someone special, but he consistently let himself down by doing " just enough " Again maybe it was because of some of the dead legs who were beside him, but something was definitely holding him back from his true potential. Had he the fitness of todays players then he would without a doubt of been worth another 10 goals per season he was that good. In todays market he would be worth 2 or 3 Lukakus.

Wish we would sign a decent keeper now.

Have no idea why but I think Niasse is going to have great season.

Believable1 Unbelievable4

16 Jul 2016 14:59:35
I really want to give him a chance but he wasn't very good today tbh he looked pretty much the same as we have already seen. Standing on the ball, pushed off the ball, running and leaving the ball behind

Some *** head in the crowd shouted Niasse your s**t. Fair enough he was playing great but damn he looks low on confidence as it is without hurling abuse at him in a training friendly.

16 Jul 2016 15:51:25
To the best of my understanding, the head of scouting, who brought in Niasse, is still in post, sureley if we are rebuilding our club, this man should now be the proud owner of a P45.

16 Jul 2016 20:13:21
No he isn't. Kevin Reeves was head of scouting and he went with Martinez, Jones et al.

Niasse is playing he didn't do anything at all for 12 mins then got the ball on the edge of the box stood on the ball and collapsed in a heap! He is truly awful.

Just been watching 'time of our lives - Goodison Greats' on sky with Sharpie, Sheeds and Andy Gray. Great banter and great memories between the 3 legends. Oh how I'd love to recreate those days. Hopefully we're not too far away.
