So Konoplyanka's come out and said he wants to play in England. If a team like Stoke get him before us, I might just give up on this whole football palaver. Mirallas' inevitable departure means freeing of wage-money to use on him, and some money; hoping that mega-rich Monaco spend over the odds for him! Any thoughts on Konoplyanka?

I'd much prefer him to Mirallas to be honest Hugo. As much as I love Mirallas for putting one in on Suarez and scoring a couple of goals against them across the park, plus the ocassional stellar performance, I must not be the only fan who views him as a bit of an enigma. Has one good game for every 5 he plays and we need more consistency than that, imo Konoplyanka would bring that. Also I've lost a lot of respect for him after his comments about wanting to leave in January, just shows that he's the type of player to jump ship when the going gets bad.

I like the guy, is vey talented and is always looking to go forward. Sadly though I don't see it happening. But agree we should at least try.

Said this a few weeks back that we should be looking to bring him in. Has ability can cross a ball and likes to take on fullbacks which is what we were crying out for last season. As for Mirrallas half the time you don't actually realise he is on the pitch he is a luxury player who only turns up when he can be arsed. I would cash in if we get a decent offer of say £12 mill.

Do you think it'll be a lack of ambition if we don't go for him? Wouldn't be the first time, need to shake this "small club" mentality we've adopted.

I would say so Hugo. If we aspire to try and break into the top 4/5 in the league we need to bring in top quality players to do this.

I thought I'd seen it all on this site but to see people complaining about getting deulofeu for 3m just takes the piss this kid has the potential to be a great signing for us just coming into his best years now also absolute bargin even if they buy back it's at a profit great bit of business IMO if we bought messi tomorrow I'm sure some on here would still find something to moan about :)

If I hear the word POTENTIAL used one more time for Everton players arghhhhhhhhhh! I doesn't win us trophies, we've had potential thrown at us for 10 years or more!! Time to buy established players, it might be a new thing to do but at least its trying something different instead of this Potential stuff, jeeez it makes my blood boil.

Totally agree. Damned if we do Damned if we don't. Wouldn't be surprised if somewhere along the line BK gets some stick over it.

You will always get moaning miserable sods mate, the same people would probably moan if we got Messi

Great age and old player. So what's the problem? Or would you rather we keep shipping in 30 year olds on there last pay check. Jesus let's start developing a young team with energy and drive. Get the smell of deep heat out of the dressing room!

I don't think people are moaning when they ask what all the hype is about.granted he has skill and potential, but the last time he was here he didn't live up to the hype some people are making about him now.but for three mil, i'd snap him up

Agree 100% with Woburn about developing a young team being the way forward and personally I'm pretty excited about a lot of our youngsters right now and delboy certainly adds to that imo

Looks like Podolski is on his way to Galatasaray hallelujah

Well 1 thing for sure, wiv the likes of Del Boy signing & (dare I say it) Cleverley & the possibility of Kagawa, Tevez, Austin etc etc all being linked & no European football on the cards, they'll be no excuses for Bobby next season, with this sort of strength & depth in the squad a top 6 position is minimum requirement or he has to be deemed a failure & go!

There could be a problem with Del Boy's transfer. I'm hearing it is 18 Million and if that is not paid then the 'buy back' clause is inserted. So negotiations still on going. Typical Everton

I wonder how long ago Monaco actually contacted Kev Mirallas, he has know for a while that they were coming in for him, oh well good bye, not as if you were even arsed for the past 2 years

The move would benefit him enormously as they speak French,
so when he tells them how good he is they will get the message a lot quicker than we did!

Sacre bleu Big head :(

I will concede that I was wrong about his transfer fee and think that for only £3m, Deulofeu is a decent enough signing and won't complain about it, but I still maintain that by January you'll all be absolutely hating him.

''for only £3m ''

A real steal AB!

Meantime let's give him a chance and hope for the best eh?!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed008's Note - I thought he showed glimpses of improvement in his game towards the end of his previous loan spell with Everton and Sevilla. I think he could develop into a top player under Martinez. A steal at 3m!

16 Jun 2015 11:10:27
Let's not panic about the buy back clause, the player has to agree to go back and if memory serves me correctly Bojan left Barca for Roma with a similarly structured deal and they never took him back, bar injury he is a good player, he would have to turn into some player for Barca to take him back and him get first team football which is what he will want so I say let's enjoy him. Positive signing

I'll be happy with podolski myself
I know a lot of people are saying he's awful but he's a finisher and if we can get the best out of him, we'll have some player on our hands

Whats he done in the last 3/4 years? Nothing, got lazy and put on weight, if he was still a threat going forward Arsenal would keep him

Question for end 002 (or any other eds that may know) with a buy back clause if the team wanting to bring the player back decided to use it, would the player in question have to also agree to go back? Or if he was adamant he wanted to stay would he stay? Thanks

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - the player would have final say, it just sets a price really.}

16 Jun 2015 10:45:06
Cheers ed!

{Ed001's Note - you are very welcome mate.}
