Anyone else agree that players contracts can only be done in the summer window this would put a stop to clowns (agents) building fans hopes up only for the player to reject it. i for one would also like agents banned from talking to the press . And the players them self need to honour contracts or face a world wide ban with no pay.

{Ed002's Note - So no more transfers then.}

What I ment was players can only sign contract extensions in the summer.

All this supporting rom, realey does piss me off. Yes, it is understandable, he clearly see everton as a stepping stone to greater things, this club is and will always remain 1000 times bigger than Lukaku.
Please let's not forget, that at every window, since he signed we have seen him dropping big hints to the press about cham/ leg and moving to a "bigger" club, well your at a big club, that has recruited less than a year ago, one of the best managers in world football, just how quick do you expect him to build a world class side?
There is no one who want that to happen quicker than supporters, but for this spoilt brat it's just a convenent excuss.

I personally don't think rom will go. He will still be our main striker next year. Most of the media hype is rubbish. After reading his full interview, to me it seems like he's happy at everton. Yes he's ambitious and i think he's looking for some sort of guarantee that the club has ambitions and will be active during the summer before he signs that extension.

I have to agree anonblue, he has two years on his contract so we can hang on for another year get into the champions league and problem solved.

There are ways of going about this. He wants to know what the board thinks? Ask the board! Some guy from the mail isn't going to give him the answer.

However, Koeman seems to have put him in his place. Hopefully, he will shut his gob and carry on doing his job on the pitch.

To be honest I am not really fussed about Lukaku. I did some stats and for his 19 goals in 26 games he has played this year. Lukaku has played against the Top 10 sides this year 12 times and scored 5 goals. He has played the bottom sides 14 times for 14 goals. 9 in 3 games. I look at Jermaine Defoe and he is in shocking team and is only a couple behind. I honestly think And this is my opinion, and some people may say I'm full of it, but I think he is over rated. He is replaceable, whether it be Rooney, Defoe, Dembele all can do the job. However, if we lost Barkley, this would be a massive blow. Now he is my fav at Everton and have always defended him, but to me he has more upside than Lukaku, and he is the reason in the massive spike of form.

I have to say that using Defoe as a comparisson is bad! Defoe is a brilliant goalscorer and whilst I get your point. who will score goals for us if Lukaku goes? Not Defoe. that is just about certain. Defoe ahs always been quality and will probably go on another season. but we need a young up and coming center forward. or 2.

I think Aussies point is who is to say other strikers would not have scored those goals n an Everton shirt, even one playing for a team in the relegation zone.

I have touched on this before about scoring against bottom teams and teams in the top 4.

With you on the over rated, he's still young and may move up a level, banging goals in against the bigger teams but for me, if daft money is offered, I would snap it up and invest n two quality strikers.

I have just read the lukaku statement on sky an to bw onst the lad is ryt we do need to win cups an starr challenging he is 100% ryt we need some decent players in to keep the ones we have ano its hard to Attract players with not champ league but people who boo him on saterday need there heads testing he has been a quality player for us an i shall keep suporting him all the way he needs champ league its a no brainer an we haven't got it. If we won't to keep player like him champ league is a must an start by winning a cup the future looks bright and exciting but please don't boo the lad we need him towards the end of the season the last thing
We need is his head down.

Booing a player because of a media report is just stupid anyway, the only thing it will achieve is increasing the likelihood of the player not wanting to be at the club. Which may not be the case if the report is in fact not correct or taken in context. Loose loose for everyone.

alot of posters seem to have the attitude if he goes we will carry on as we did when we sold other top players. We haven't won a trophy in over 20years people.

We've had Lukaku for 4 of those years and haven't won a trophy!

The team is always more important than an individual. We WILL move on!

And the semi final against United was probably Roms worst performance in a blue shirt and he didn't look arsed then, we will continue to make progress with or without Lukaku and will be challenging for trophies soon enough, Spurs lost Bale and haven't looked back and I feel we will do the same.

At the end of the day if he wants to go and not sign a contract then so be it, no player is bigger than a club, If he stays brilliant if not we will be well in financially. Personally i do not think he will improve at one of the so called bigger clubs outside of the premier league as i don't believe his touch and passing is good enough to fit in with their style, there's no doubting his finishing ability.
We are EFC not Lukaku FC.

I would love to know who the players that Lukaku I see referring too when he says we could have got them but didn't and they are playing in the Prem. stating a lack of ambition by the club in not signing these players. be a man and name the players if you are to use this as an excuse.

I want to chip in with my Lukaku view. There are certain facts that need to be remembered. Emotion comes into it because we are Everton and we like loyalty and want success. Now some facts: Firstly he signed a 4 or 5 year deal a couple of years ago and is tied to us for 2 more years. If we like, we canmake him stay one or two of those years. He is a much improved player in recent games. But he is still not the "complete" player and his hold up skills need improving further. If we sell him this summer or in 12 months time, we will have a lot of money tospend on a replacement. By then, he might want to stick with us? The only thing that has changed, is that his agent said he was 99.999% sure he was ready to sign a new contract a week ago. and now says he wants to move. So what? He is still under contract. He might still sign a new contract within 12 months? We might get offered silly money for him? Steve Waalsh might have a kid in sight with similar potential? Too many ifs and buts for me tobe even slightly worried. Added to the fact. I really believe that although he is a goal machine, we lose something as a team with regards to playing on the break with him. Someone like Shane Long scores so many less goals, but his hold up play and inclusion in build upplay means the rest of the team score more. Maybe that's what we need now? For sure Lookman and Calvert Lewin look like they will score bagfuls when alittle bit more mature. Imagine either of these 2 with a Shane Long type player holding it up for them to run onto.

Don't knock Lukaku for being ambitious because it is what we all want, it's his life, he wants to do well and become a great and you have to respect his ambition, He has given Everton a platform to progress, good luck Lukaku either if you stay or go.

Lukaku has laid no platform for Everton. I think you'll find its the other way around.

Anyway, I'm caught up in the hype. Whenever he goes is when I believe he is going. Media is a circus.

Reply to the OP. I don't know how he can knock the club for a lack of ambition as we have only had money for the last 2 transfer windows and it's alway difficult to get every target you go for. Personally I just think he will make any excuse to justify what he's doing and blaming the club rather than himself. Don't get me wrong, I would be delighted if he stayed but he needs to think and consider how much he owes the club because if he'd of stayed at Chelsea he wouldn't have got half the game time he's had during his time with us.

We will move on and improve again if he leaves (like we always do) !

We've spent close to 90mil over the last two windows and made huge strides as a team in a very very very short space of time.

Whatever Rom wants to do is up to him but personally he needs to just get on with player football and then leave at the end of the season.
