With this recent injury that Gibson has picked up during international duty, does the Irish FA stump up his wage bill, or does his insurance policy kick in? or can the club look for some reimbursement from the Irish FA.
TT {Ed025's Note - it will be picked up by the irish FA insurance..

This is definitely going to happen. Met the main man and he said Baines definitely going in January. Plus we have 2 signings lined up.
Who is this "main man" you're talking about?
16 Oct 2013 14:14:51
Must be true then Becko
Not unless the "main man " has 27.5 mill burning a hole in his pocket. We might not be able to stop them taking him, but we should have the guts to screw every last penny out of them
Bainesis too good to play full back, its crying out to move him the wing everyone in football can see that.play garbett left back andwe have our replacement for gibson by moving merellis on the right, barcley and mc, carthy in the middle.tom efc.
I see you've never watched Everton tom, move Mirallas to the right? Hasn't that been his starting position for over 90% of his games here. Barkley is never a deep lying center mid and Baines even less of a winger. I can recall one or two calling for him to play on the wing but he wouldn't be nearly as effective playing there. Who exactly are all these people who can see he's a winger?
Sorry, missed Garbutt our there. I believe Oviedo is ahead of him in the pecking order and even he doesn't appear good enough yet, defensively he still has a lot to learn. It says a lot that Garbutt is plying his trade for a league one club, he can't get a championship side.
I don't know exactly how many see Baines as a left sided midfielder but I wouldn't imagine it's too many. He's most effective when he's overlapping and in space, something he wouldn't see as much of in a midfield position.
Rednapp said he's more of awinger than a full back ibet if spurs follow up there interest they, ll play on the wing. I've watched everton for 56 years. and on your quote meralis playson the right, he's played down the middle on both wings and as a great understanding withe colleman who I believe plays on the right I put it to you how many games do you watch. tom efc.
You've just answered your own question tom, if he has a great relationship/partnership then logic dictates he plays on the right. He starts the majority of games, barring injuries, on the right.
The rest of your post I don't understand so I can't comment.
I've supported Everton for 36 years, enough time to be able to learn how to spell their names correctly.
Redknapp says? The man's a dinosaur in footballing terms and also off his head, need I remind you he had a bank account opened in his dog's name to squirrel away all those bungs.
But, if his opinion convinces you that it's a viable option that's your choice. Only on Wednesday morning I read he was comparing Baines with cashley, saying the latter was the best lb in the world but Leighton can be regarded I. The same bracket AS A LEFT BACK.
This is my last post on the subject forgive my spelling mourealless plays were the manager tells him if he plays on the right today ill admit your right but I put my name to what have to say please do the same tom efc
So if Mirallas plays in the left today, then you'll be right, forgive the pun?
No, he's played the vast majority of his Everton career on the right side.
Leaving my name doesn't detract from the point that you're wrong in virtually all you say.
Of course, if they're opinions, no one is wrong, in concept, but to assert the things you did when they can be contradicted with cold hard facts is rather silly.
Sorry, last point, if Baines is 'too good' to play lb and everyone in football can see he's a winger, why has he never in his life been played there?
Surely, if everyone can see he's a winger he'd get a run in the team there to prove his effectiveness?
Did they say that about bale, who as been filling in forpienaar then fresh air I am the 1 accussed of not watching maybe everything should stay the same always as regards rednapp maybe you know more about football than him whos the dinousour give yourself a rest
Who's been filling in for Pienaar?
That would be Naismith or Osman NOT Baines that's for sure.
Re Redknapp, not saying I know more than him but he's hardly a progressive, modern, dynamic, forward thinking coach is he?
Remind me were he was when he scored witch side of the pitch were he operated till pienaar came on am I going insane or do people just like arguing, tom efc
Where who was, Baines? At left back in his usual position. Osman played toward the left drifting inside. Nobody's arguing, it's supposed to be debate. If you can't see that then yes, you must be what you implied you are.
Baines hasn't played left mid this season, nor last, nor ever as far as I can remember.
My bad, when you say 'HE' scored, couldn't be Baines. When 'HE' scored? Mirallas? was there as Baines took a short corner to Ossie and he passed inside.
Because he scored from that position that automatically means he started there?
Where was 'HE' when 'HE' created Pienaar's goal? Did you see Baines' free kicks against west ham? Did he play number 10 attacking midfield because that's where he scored from, that area. Did Pienaar play centre forward yesterday?
I watched the game, the whole game and KM played predominantly on the right, He does sometimes play left, switching with whoever is there, but his usual position is RW.
Why is that difficult to understand? It's hardly subjective, and if anyone is arguing the unarguable it's not I.

Gibson went off injured for ROI, hearing it's his knee ligaments that are crocked! Anyone else agree that he us not going to have a decent career for us and if we should keep him, offer him a pay as you play deal? We need a cm in January! What you reckon too Ed?
Rich84 {Ed025's Note - looks like hes out for the season rich, so yes we will need a replacement, hopefully he will be back but age is against him, so maybe as you say, a pay as you play contract would be the way forward..
Have we been linked recently with CM/CDM's? I only remember links with Fernando, who I think would definitely fit the bill, but with Inter and Man United after him I don't think he's still a possibility. {Ed002's Note - There remains interest in Fernado from Everton.}
Would hardly say age is against him. He is 25. Bring in a replacement in Jan and then when he does return, it will be like a new signing to the squad. Would sooner support him through his injury and give him the chance to come back than turn on him and want him out the door.
Hank
Our first choice central midfielders are surely McCarthy and Barry. As for Barkley, he plays the number 10 role just behind the main striker (Lukaku). Osman has played in that McCarthy/Barry/Gibson role, but IMHO he's better suited further up the pitch. Perhaps Lundstram or Grant will get more opportunities (coming from the bench) now that Gibson is unfortunately out injured for a while.

baronhardrup is right and imo now is time for someone like lundstram to step up, cannot see grant or anyone else doing it, going to miss gibson as I really rate him and do not rate osman whatsoever but again lundstram is now needed until january, a great passer on the ball, very reliable and isn't afraid to talk to players on the pitch (this may not sound like much but he is a leader and that is good), he is 19 I believe and that is ready enough for me

Oviedo might be an outside shot as well
