I think its scandolus that sturridge is allowed to play tonight, even a bigger scandal that the mainstream media are saying nothing.

What about? {Ed025's Note - i think he means about pulling out of the england games..

Agree0 Disagree0

Loved his interview, "Did you feel ok to play tonight?" "ermmmmm. No, not really" so obvious its quite funny

Agree0 Disagree0

Are you serious mate? England don't bloody own him Liverpool do and if they feel he is not ok to play then that's their business! I bet you wouldn't be moaning if he played for us!

Don't be so daft!

The point is that every other club with players on international duty are put at a disadvantage.

Would anyone take Cedric from Real Betis? Looked really good last night against Valencia and gave us a tough time in pre season too.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Caused us problems no end good player IMO

yes a good game against us and one other team then we should buy him! should get richard cresswell, adam rooney and james collins too!, cedric is drenthe without skill or the powerful shot, bit of pace and that is it

Agree0 Disagree0

Ahh Cedric, the African winger who cost Betis under 2 Euros. That's 2 Euros, not 2 million Euros. Great story, definitely got some talent. Probably gunna cost a but more now!c

Shout to Tim Howard's start to the season. There was one moment on sat where he almost had a nightmare but that save off Ramirez was class. That's 3 clean sheets in a row now and Tim has made some quality saves. Also to all those spirting about how RMs style would leave us vulnerable at the back? It appears our defence is totally unchanged, defending the way it always has. The occasional loss of concentration but overall, very solid. The main changes are in the final third, I reckon give it 6 months and time to get totally used to it, exciting times could be on horizon.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Signing of Robles has pushed him on I reckon. Having said that, sat aside he hasn't had many saves to make vs West Brom/Cardiff

I will be first to admit that I have always hated Barry as a player. But the player I saw on sat is not the same as the one I used to get annoyed at watching in an England shirt. Defensively he was outstanding but his distribution was stand out. He always seemed to pass it forward to try to start an attack rather than just pass backwards and sideways the whole time. After one game I'm already eating humble pie and I'm sure a lot of others are. Let's hope that was the first of many similar performances. Off that topic though, what are the thoughts on Oviedo? I was excited when we bought him and thought when he played he looked good. I worry we could have a potential star there but he might not get the opportunity to ever show it.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I agree on Oviedo - he looks quite useful - just need to get rid of that baines and we'll be we'll set!

Barkley is in spot light now but should of been 2 years ago if he did not break his leg in 3 places he would be in england set up on regular basis my nephew went to school with him and played football when they were kids he is class the injury has had an effect on his confidence untill pre season he has always been shy and never knew how good he was its nice to see Martinez play him where I always seen him play for school teams no 10 role and yes we have produced another gem

Hi Guys,

I had a ticket for saturday, but other things came up, so I had to watch it online.

How did Baines's reception go down? I heard a few on here saying they where going to give him an ovation.

Just wondered what happened?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He definitely got the biggest roar off the crowd when the starting line-up was being announced.

i thought everyone did their part on saturday, however osman needs to be dropped he isn't good enough, naismith worked his socks off and people saying he didn't contribute going forward apart from the goal but does anyone watch him without the ball? he gets in to some fantastic positions and knows what he is doing, jelavic has got to be third choice now he is poor doesn't push back and is always falling over, he never wins a header, barry was top class, english media already trying to get barkley to leave, just fu*k off and give us a break would youse!, mirallas has been quite poor ths season too but he will come good, deulofeu needs more time on the pitch as he must be becoming frustrated and annoyed with these 94th minute cameos, he is better than pienaar at the moment and oviedo needs to go to, love him and he is a good player but he is never going to get played so I think he needs to go for the sake of his career

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I thought Mirallas had a great game against Chelsea his intelligent movement stopped Chelsea pressing numbers forward

Agree0 Disagree0

Just read a stats analysis that shows Osman did well defensively, with more interceptions than Barry and a very high pass completion rate. RM said that he thought the Osman/Barry combination worked well, and I trust his judgement on this.

most of osmans passes were sideways and easy yet he gave the ball away quite a lot and mirallas won't take anyone on, all season all he does is run backwards and pass it

Agree0 Disagree0

Mirallas showed a glimpse of what he could do as the central striker. Excellent positioning, first touch is class, he has the pace and can skin a player at will. He, Barkley, Lukaku and then hopefully Deulofeo will add so much going forward. Huge shout for Naismith though too, have been so impressed with him this season. Throuout Pre season he just seems to be a man on a mission. He will only get better because the lad can play too and add a lot defensively. As for Ossie, I reckon Macarthy and Gibson have their eyes on that spot alongside Barry. Lads we have a great squad this year!
