Vestergaard and Sergi Robero. two quality YOUNG players, not like Martínez to be interested.
Ed's or fellow blues any other players with strong links or possibilities of coming in?

Personally can't see the Sergi Roberto deal happening. Barca have 6 registered Midfield players: Xavi, Iniesta, Rakatic, Busquets, Rafinha and Sergi.

With Xavi leaving to Qatar club Al Saad (Am excited lol), I can't see them letting any players go whilst under a transfer ban. Just my view tho.

They've got plenty of players out on loan (song) as well as players in Barcelona B who are capable of giving the first team players a rest from time to time and mascherano can play holding mid. Barcelona are in a surprisingly flexible position to sell simply because they do have many players in all positions.

I have an hour (lets hope you do too) and i'm bored so thought i'd do a little (big) run (walk) through each of our players and talk (rant) about them. Howard-look, he's been here a while and been pretty poor for a while, makes countless mistakes and is, well, crap, should we get rid? Yes, any price, for free even. Joel-poor lad, I will admit I didn't like him at first mainly because he looked so dodgy but let's really look at it, bar krasnodar at home he hasn't been directly at fault for any goals, he came in, did reallybwell and got thrown out, unfair and just shows martinez, like moyes, has his favourites. Should we get rid? Definitely not. Coleman-im a big fan but there's no denying he's been poor this season, doesn't get forward enough and is messing up, a lot, he tends to spend more time staring at his feet than he does anything else. Should we get rid? Unless its 25m and over then no, he still has a lot to offer. Hibbert-hes not injured, let's be honest, he just can't get in the team, he's a legend, been here a long time, been a good servant, had some of the best in his back pocket like robben, duff, giggs, ronaldo and origi (lol), he hasn't said anything bad, despite not being the most gifted he doesn't lose it that often, I like hibbo. Should we get rid? No, well, yes, but for a role at the club. Stones-i love this guy, so confident, doesn't let anything affect him, one of the best in the league and will only get better. Should we get rid? No, not for any price. Jagielka-captain, well, he wears the armband but isn't actually a leader, brilliant defender though and has done well since the new year, should we get rid? No. Distin-been a good defender for us, I just hope it hasn't reached that point were a player goes on too long after some magnificant seasons and becomes the villain, awful footballer but great defender. Should we get rid?yes, he's too old and is finished. Alcaraz-yes, I said he would be a decent signing and yes i'm ready for the shots to come in but seriously, I don't know how much he is on, he's a good footballer and better than jags or distin (the operative word footballer meaning, you know, passing, bringing it out from the back etc.) but he's too injury prone and had a horror show against kiev, he isn't a terrible defender, but I don't get it, he's inconsistent!? How is he so inconsistent? A defender!. Should we get rid? Yes, we need someone younger and preferably not so injury prone! Browning-needs to be brought in next season, he looks the complete package. Baines-hes been a good servant and whether opposition fans like it or not, he was the best left back in the world for about 2 years, but recently, his set pieces, defending and overall game just seem so bad, I've never been a big fan of his defending, it is decent, not as bad as say, jordi albas or gael clichy but its certainly not good, or at least not good enough. When you can't attack (anymore) or defend, what do you have to give?. Should we get rid? Yes, unless he gets put in midfield, but that's unlikely, let's say, 8m and upwards? he's 30, come on. Oviedo-love him, pacy, good end ball, solid defender and never gives anything but his all. he's 24, has lots to offer and people want to get rid? Seriously?, we had our best run last season with him in the team and him and garbutt should fight over that left back spot for seasons to come oh and he can play on the wing, what's not to love?. Should we get rid? HELL NO!. Garbutt-came in and blown me away, crossing, pace and has it all, oh and people moaning about his defending, has he been torn apart by a winger yet? Nope and he's only 21. Should we get rid? NO, we should do everything in our power to keep him. Barry-boss last season, in my opinion he was our poty, been unfairly criticized this season, he's been bad at times I know but people saying we should sell him already?, what he does is allow mccarthy, coleman and baines to go forward, was good against swansea and he's still an important player to us. Should we get rid? No. Mccarthy-love him, fights for everything, gives his all, tackles well and can go forward, what has impressed me this season is his positioning, always there to intercept and doesn't need to run around as such, great player. Should we get rid? Haha, oh that's a serious question? Oh, no. Gibson-hello, gibbo, now let me say this, he's boss, he's a good player, but he's always injured! Excellent passer, controls the whole game, but sadly, his injuries are so annoying. Shouldbwe get rid? Yes, he's too injury prone, 3m and over would be good. Besic-great footballer, I think he will develop into the barry role in the future, not yet, he has a lot of energy and tackles a lot, he will learn but already shows leaderhip qualities and is a great talent to have. Should we get rid? No, but I have to admit he's the player i'm most worried about leaving, spurs have no chance of mccarhty, so i'm most worried about besic and his game time and whether he will want to leave, I hope not, he's going to be some player, barkley-i did a big rant on him not so long ago so I will keep it short, I don't see him improving ever. Mirallas-now i'm going to say something that many will disagree with but he could be one of the best players in the world if he wanted but he cannot be bothered and that's why he will never be world class, he can be but wont. Also this trend of playing well for 3 games, injured for 3 months, taking 15 games to start getting back to form, has 3 great games and is out for 3 months, repeat. i'm not going to hate him when he leaves, the only player recently that left who I hate is arteta, I don't hate lescott or fellaini, I won't hate mirallas, he's done well, bargain at 5m. Should we get rid? 10m abroad minimum and 12m minimum premier league club, oh and tottenham fans who think he's going there, few points 1. you're not in the champions league 2. you're quite a boring team and 3. you're not better. If he goes there after his big champions league talk then kev, you're not very bright. Mcgeady-hes garbage, gives it away too often, can't cross, can't pass or shoot he's bloody disgraceful!! Okay okay, apologies, but he's bad. Should we get rid? YES!, ASAP!. Pienaar-been a good player, been harsh on him at times. Should we get rid? Yes, only if we get a replacement in, say 2m? And over. Osman-now you're wondering why I listed him with the wingers, wait, you're not? Whatever, anyway, he brings a balance to the team on the left. Should we get rid? Yes, again, only if we get a left wing replacement. Atsu-jesus, awful player, doesn't use his pace, very weak, can't do anything, least of all beat a man. Should we try and keep him? PLEASE NO. Lennon-works his socks off, never gives in, very very pacy, has been wonderful for us. Should we try and keep him? YES. Naismith-love this guy, proved everyone wrong, wins everything, scores goals and never stops running! Should we get rid? No, not for anything. Lukaku-great striker, going to be world class, attitude is up for debate. Should we get rid? No. Kone-i was happy with this signing, I would have preffered someone else but he got 13 goals playing right wing for wigan when he was right footed, more than anichebe and jelavic got as strikers and I have no doubt he would of been a success but the injury has destroyed him, there were fears he would never get to play again, well done to him for coming back but sadly his pace and power seems to have gone and at 32 he will never recover. Should we get rid? Yes. Apologies for the long post

Swan quite a fair assessment and I agree with the majority. I personally would keep Baines unless we got a bid over £10m and would keep Ossie as with Hibbo I would like to see them see out their contacts and move into the back room in some capacity. Would also like a bit more for Peanuts than £2m as I think he offers a bit more than our other wide players.

I would let Baines go now but you would be lucky to see much more than £8m now. Hibbo great servant but not sure what he'd offer as a coach not exactly the most technically gifted but has great heart, and would still keep ossie.

bloody hell Swanie, a detailed post,I'm now off to read WAR &
PEACE.
it might take less time.

on another note, who would like to see both Peanuts & Kev start against Burnley?
and BK to tap up Ings while he's here?

play Baines & Peanut down the left, try Kev down the middle with Barkley playing off him, & Coleman playing forward down the right.

Jimmy Mac & Besic (not Barry) midfield,& Ossie if fit

That's a great post Swan. Almost identical to the one I put on 12 months ago worrying about our future because we would have to replace 9 or 10 players at the end of this season and too much change destabilises clubs for a season and the new replacements take time to bed in. But I agree with most of your assessments.

Brilliant post Swan. Although I will say that although Coleman has had a bad season, he's had Atsu, Mcgeady and Barkley/Naismith infront of him on the right for most of it.

If we bring someone like Lennon with is work rate to sit in front of him, he should be back to normal. because then he's got someone to track back and cut inside whilst he goes forward.

Also with the Pienaar shout. wouldn't get rid, although he is ageing, he is an asset. We saw it at Swansea. Maybe no longer a straight starter, but certainly an impact player off the bench.

The rest I agree with, especially the Mirallas point. He is super inconsistent.

Enjoyed that post. Good content. Probably longest paragraph in history.
Opened up a good debate with the Blues in work over if you can't have all three which two of Baines, Garbutt or Oviedo would you keep. Once sentiment was set aside majority decision was to keep the two younger players.

Great post swan, only things I would change is keeping Osman and Hibbert to the end of their contracts out of loyalty (why were there given such extensions anyway). Though Baines has been poor he is Everton through and through and a class player, think we should keep hold. The rest is spot on, would love us to sign an identical player to Gibson play wise but someone who can actually stay fit!

Good post that SWAN I assume this one was done sober because it makes sense haha, like other posters agree with most which means Bobby will do the opposite
