It was a good game. We played well, we kept the ball, linked up well with eacher and were a threat at times. Barkley and Fellaini were superb today, they had to carry Ossie. I believe Barry would be a great signing. It is clear we need atleast 1 CM preferably 2.

Fellani didn't even attempt a tackle for their first goal. same as Wigan cup game sorry but he not bothered.

Agree0 Disagree0

We need a cm but don't write ozzie off after 1 game.he been a great servant for club.dont think barry is the answer tho.for passing ability I believe james mccarthy could be perfect for us.he young, energetic and tackles and passes well.well worth a punt.all in all i'm happy with a point. Norwich are by no means push overs

Agree0 Disagree0

McCarthy would cost around 15m, Barry would be virtually free(maybe loan fee) Feli should have done better for their goal, but apart from that he put in a good performence. {Ed025's Note - i thought he done well also, my worry would be ossie and peanuts, never really stamped any authority on the game, we missed gibbo today, and for all our possession and good football, never really gave jelavic enough chances..

I am a lot happier after today's performance I thought we played well and dominated the game and thought once we went 2-1 up that would of given us the confidence to knock it around more comfortable. I think it's important we get off to a good start to make players and supporters believe and trust in Roberto's style of play it's a lot easier to play passing football when you are relaxed and confident. I was very impressed with Ross Barkley I thought he showed maturity and quality in his game today. Kevin Mirrallas had a quiet game by his standards. But more positives than negatives. IMWT

Thought we played reasonably well today and were unlucky, defence looks a bit leaky, Barkley pure class today as was Coleman! Bring on WBA

Barkley mom, disappointed though with LO and SP, but should have won it, poor defending first goal and fluky cross for second. it will get better.

Not a bad result one point on the road considering we played the entire game with 10 men. I would have preferred if Gibson couldn't go to have played with 2 strikers, Jelly with Konne or even Deulofeu than have Fellaini playing out there next to an empty shirt with a 21 on the back. Christ Osman was not there.

Another option that would have been interesting Stones-Jags-Distin in the back with Seamus and Baines out wide.

Summary:

Super Kev needs to find big S for the front of his shirt.

If we are going to play with one striker we need to find one that can play up front alone.

Gibson we missed you get well soon

Ossie find the plot or your skills

Seamus best 60K find in the world, locked in for a long time

Barkley 19 and going to be a STUD, keep him on the pitch. What a strike, there will be many more where that came from.

Its early we have plenty to look forward for and a few concerns to work out. Hope for the best.

Ridiculous post. Haters will always hate. It acts as a distraction for what is usually a poor style of living. Anyone who went to the match today saw us pass norwich off the park. We deserved a win today but ill take a point. COYBs I am optimistic after today.

Agree0 Disagree0

I was a little worried after the Real Betis game but kept it to myself as I believe in supprorting Everton no matter what and even had arguments on Evertons page after people were slagging Ross Barkley off well was I worrying for nothing our passing was immense our attacking football superb and I for one can not wait for next weeks game COYB I also feel w were very unlucky with there second goal as it was definately a cross

Official then we must be skintight if we are having to loan the likes of Barry, 32 for gods sake and he was slow when he was young. If Felli goes then I hope Robby gets the money, and that he has targets already lined up. Looks like your prediction of a major signing has gone out the window Ed. unless you meant Barry of course.

Why Barry on loan. just buy Diame for £4m. better long term signing and less expensive. Barry is closing on 33

I'm with you on that score Bluejohn

My god. It has been a long summer but we are finally here men, women, boys, girls, cats and dogs.

We're going to need some patience for the team to click and get used to our new brand of football so try and keep your hair-dryers turned off for a couple of months whilst we adapt.

I don't think it will take us long and when we do god help the rest of the Premier League because with this team and our ferocious support others are going to hate playing us.

So bring it on Blues let's stuff these canaries and put them back in their cage and let the rest of this league know we may have a change in manager but these Toffees won't becoming unstuck.

Why does it have to take a couple of months, they've had all pre season, get a grip this is Everton, we demand and expect great things!

Great post mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

To the anonymous guy. It's not FIFA mate it takes time for a team to get to know a system of playing. Especially, when the two ways of playing are so different.

But hey I don't mind educating the uneducated.

Agree0 Disagree0

To bluejohnuns, we are actually playing the same system so seems you need educating, I was the anonymous

@baz same formation different style more building from back, keeping possession passing and movement than under moyes who liked to be hard to breakdown, run and counter

Just watched the pre match interview with robby and I must say the difference with his interviews and Moyes is unbelievable. He is so positive and answers every question thourouly. It was hard to get them sort of answers out of Moyes. In expecting big things and I think robby is going to be a big success.

Hi Ed, what is the chances of Fellaini leaving by the end of the transfer window in your opinion? Also Bobby said in his press conference that Felli was very very happy at Everton, what is your understanding on that? is it true or is just Bobby just wishful thinking!
Blue4ever {Ed025's Note - i think given the chance, felli would be out of here faster than a rat up a drain pipe!...but im not sure other clubs rate him as highly as we value him mate..

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Lets give fellaini a bit of praise yes he may want to leave and play champions league but unlike Suarez at least he is not in media spot light by demanding a move not put in transfer request he is just getting on with his job in a professional way and in this day and age where players have so much power I have to say well done the big man, he has done nothing wrong why all you think he wants out

Agree0 Disagree0

'I have started my fifth season at Everton.
'This will be one of my last seasons. I have seen everything. In January, or at the end of the season, I will look for another club or league.'
Maybe these comments could shed some light in why people think he wants out?

Barry far too slow, especially if he is to replace LO in midfield. imo we need a power house midfielder like Dembely [spell]. Has RM been told there is no money for a major signing, so go and borrow a hasbeen, would rather give a kid a chance. KK.
