Here's another fact I was unaware of but I'm sure it will appear in an Everton quiz one day.

On Sunday we not only gave Pep his biggest ever league defeat but it was the first time in Evertons history that we have had 2 teenagers on the score sheet.

The win made me feel like a teenager again Grumpy. However, I celebrated too much by hitting the bar and failed to score when I got home!

Worth it though!

I was caught offside twice. Then there was the hand ball incident. Not to mention the blocking and obstruction? But when I got in the box I was magnificent!

Do you know mate (NBTB) . I split from my wife of 32 years .2 years ago. I have had a pretty tough time over the last 2 years and EFC did their best to make it worst! But all of a sudden, the weight has been lifted off me. My Son who went the game with me has suddenly grown 6 inches and the 2 of us are walking around with chests like Arnie Schwartzennegger. It's amazing how 11 men kicking a bag of wind around can make you so sad or happy! Any aliens watching us would never get in contact. they know we are all as mad as hatters!

2 wins 2 draws 2 defeats against the six above us so far. If we pick up wins against teams below us and the same again against the these teams, top 6, 5 or even 4th might still be in with a shout.

Got to hope they falter mate and even though we have the confidence (it would seem now) to go on a run, have to admit the six above us are in general playing well.

I put us down to finishing 11th as well in the poll we had before season started. Feel a bit silly now lol

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jan 2017 22:32:16
I put is down for 6th or 7th. Not sure now. Imho there's every chance we'll get 7th. Higher I don't know. The next 6 or 7 games will be vital. If we go on a good run 4th or 5th maybe, just maybe reachable. It will be very hard to do.

I put this up a couple of days ago. When we finished 5th 3 years ago. We were at one stage 14 points from 4th. With 10 games to go we were 11 points from Arsenal. We caught and overtook them before we fell back again.

We have no other games aside from the league. It may give us an edge IF we can keep up this run of good form. Tough yes but not impossible.

It is the emergance of Tom Davies that has given me hope. He is far ahead of what I expected for a young lad. He is going to be some player if he keeps his feet on the ground. and it looks like he is a sensible guy. You all know I moaned and moaned about never replacing Osman and Pienaar with players that can turn defense into attack. He is one that can do it and I think Gana as well. So we just need one more for cover for things like the African Nations/ suspensions/ injuries and that's that sorted. Robles seems to have settled in. Holgate seems accomplished. If we can get another or 2 of Unsworth's Babes into the squad over the next 12 months. Bob's your uncle!

I feel a lot more comfortable with Davies having Koeman as his first main manager. He has potential and it would be nice if he blossoms at Everton and see's out his full career with us.

Do you think we will be signing any more players 2 class additions so far doesn't look like the belfodil is happening

Believable0 Unbelievable0

17 Jan 2017 12:45:05
As far as I have seen, both us and belfodil want the move to happen so I think it will. Reckon we could bring in a cb and a couple of youth players

From what I can gather it is a minor problem involving his agent. But saying that there was a third party who had ownership rights of him in the past. That is no longer the case but he may still have some legal right to a moving on payment, at the same time it may not involve anyone else but the agent.

Roberts75, it is only Newspaper/ media chatter but looks like our first choices are not materialising, but no doubt Mr Walsh and Mr Koeman have other targets. Aims; age of Squad being lowered and depth/ quality/ consistency being built. The future is looking good, we just need patience.

Just to continue with all the positive stuff. has anyone looked at our fixture list and run in? This time last year we had gone like 10 without a win and had to play all the top sides . most away. This season we have a potentially great run in. We have a few like Man United, Spurs, Arsenal and the reds away which will be tough. but the rest are all winnable fixtures. not that the ones above are impossible. It really is in our own hands how we end up now and with the confidence running through the squad, and another signing or 2.anything is possible.

If we get 6 wins in a row ( including the city thrashing ) I will approach the EDs to see if they will change my name to HappyToffee. I will also donate something to Everton in the Community

If we win 6 in a row I will be amazed. that is a tough ask. Other teams will know about us now and start to defend deep. This is where Koeman must earn his dosh getting the tactics right. but I would have his ability to vary things (and sometimes get it wrong) over Martinez's inability to change anything every time.

Koeman has changed players, formations, so much this season to see what works best for the team pure class manager. martinez never changed formation 4231all the time no wander we finished in 11th for 2 seasons in koeman we trust.

Kieran Dowell will be next guys. Talked to my mate who went the u23 game said he is quality. Mr Unsworth take a bow your doing a fantastic job.

Jamie carragher said the same. Dowell scored a corker and has been for a while now. looking at the youth you have, Walsh, Charsley, and Dowell looking like next first teamers. they are our future and Imo, Unsworth will be our next manager. He's doing an absolutely fantastic job with the development squad and when one breaks into the first team, you can see how proud he is that the player has earned his chance of first team football.

Successful youth coaches don't necessarily make good managers Dentie. leave him where he is. and give him a pay rise for a job well done.

17 Jan 2017 16:41:21
Unsworth is brilliant with the youth that his is best job, he must stay there for years and double his salary.

Who knows maybe we can do what Man United did and bring through enough players to be one of the best teams in Europe, remember Giggs, Scholes and Beckham.

It may never be possible to buy enough talent therefore producing our own is vital. If we do that well through Unsworth, he is worth as much as the first team coach maybe.

17 Jan 2017 17:02:56
I agree BB4 but it's just my opinion that if he wants the job at some stage, then he should be given the opportunity. And he has a 100% record as first team gaffer lol.

We can be a bit snoberish at times when it's a person you know goes for a managers job. We are in the age of big international characters like Koeman or Klopp. I'm the same.

I understand that and Davy isn't what we would expect us to go for but he sounds like a top manager when he speaks. He's also got that high standard and determination that sounds like a mirror image of Koeman.

However, it's not been just this season. He has always talked like this and the big expectations he has are his own and not simply sound bites given to him by the current incumbent.
