anyone think that rodwell be here next season? if he has an excellent season, will be difficult to keep a hold of him and especially if he has no injuries.. what u think?

CP {Ed025's Note - i see him being here for the long run cp..

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Yep i do seeing him being here still as he owes Everton for standing by him through all his injuries. Mike

Agree0 Disagree0

I think he owes the club a bit of loyalty with all the time he has spent out with injury. And he seems like the kind of guy that won't f*** over people who have helped him. In my opinion anyway.

Cornol Sanders

Cornol Sanders - I hope your right, we have had some who haven't shown that loyalty in the past - Dan Gosling for example.

If everton were to invest in a up and coming talent! then rhodes, may be a better option than zaha!......jmff {Ed025's Note - good player..but £8m, i dont think so..

Believable4 Unbelievable1

Never worth £8M asking price for someone who played in league one, now championship.. this season will tell if he really is good..

CP

Agree0 Disagree0

It's a lot of money for big gamble the boy knows where the net is that's for sure 4m tops it was league 1 he was playing after all but to score 40 goals in any league is worth looking at

Agree0 Disagree0

Remember Beckford was banging in the goals in league 1, and although i quite liked him he only lasted 1 season with us, it's a hugh step up and 6-8 million is an awfully big gamble! in a time where money is a at a premium we cant afford to waste 6-8 million on a maybe player.

Ed. Why not set us blues a little task. See if anyone can post a rumour on our neighbours page which gets posted . A rumour which gets them all excited about nothing. {Ed025's Note - lets not stoop to their level mate..

Believable5 Unbelievable3

Ill have a go..

CP

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh please... Come on now lads, we're better than that.

Yes, we get the odd person on here trying to get a rise out of us. Note the word 'person'. Don't be that guy on their site!

Don't forget the Eds have to waste their time reading that rubbish just to delete it anyway! Let us all just concentrate on our own teams.

Just a suggestion ed, I think we should get Saha back on a free for back up for Jelavic. Personally I prefer Saha over Owen, thoughts ?

ToffeeMike {Ed025's Note - none of the above for me mike, we should be looking forward, not back...just my opinion mate..

Believable4 Unbelievable5

Owen definitely not nor saha.. we need someone who is young and is hungry for games.. zaha would be excellent from palace..

CP {Ed025's Note - i agree cp....but would cost a bit..

Agree0 Disagree0

Yea he would, but lets see what happens in the window and see some exits, then he could sign then, well i hope..

CP

Agree0 Disagree0

WHAAATT! Saha has not been a premier league standard player for 2 years. when he left we started to play decent. i saw him at the bolton game where howard scored and iv never seen a poorer performance in my life. Id rather have Hibbo upfront. At least hed chase the odd ball down

PTF

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't know about anyone else, but that Zavon Hines lad who's just been released on a free from Burnley could well be worth the punt..I know he's just been released by a poor Championship side, but who's to say they just couldn't see his potential!? He's a hungry, young (23 y/o) fast striker by the way...just a thought.
Murf

Agree0 Disagree0

What about Velios as our Back up striker. His workrate is first class and I rate him more than Saha and Owen. We need to give the boy a chance.

Aussie Toffee

Agree0 Disagree0

Ps I didn't mean hungry in terms of his appetite. Although he may well eat like a horse...I guess we'll never know...

What really puts me off coming on here is when someone gives a rumour, and the next reply is "Source?" {Ed025's Note - they are only asking where they heard the rumour mate, its no big deal!..

Believable3 Unbelievable4

Source? {Ed025's Note - love it..

Agree0 Disagree0

I think it is funny though. everything on here is 99% speculation, and we all know it. . so why demand 'the source'! {Ed025's Note - for it to be a rumour, you must have heard it somewhere!....this is not makeupaloadofcrap dot com..

Agree0 Disagree0

I think if you hear/read a rumour you should include both where you heard/saw it and your name. I can understand people's frustration with Kopites posting rubbish and it's only going to increase with the school holidays.

Popeye {Ed025's Note - your right popeye..

Agree0 Disagree0

If you have a rumour, post it.. we'd obviously know if its a load of bullsh*t... if you dont have a source, where did you hear it?

A blue chiming in from Peru.....wonder why Everton dont look more in the direction of south america for good players at prices which arent off the scale. Many young players here have terrific technique because they learn to play on small concrete pitches....all about keeping possession. With some good coaching and development, you could unearth some real bargains. Scouting far and wide will pay dividends for the Blues.

Believable6 Unbelievable1

Maybe because Moyes thinks South American players wouldn't track back enough and defend corners and put in as what he says a real shift.

Agree0 Disagree0

Im sure there is scouts everywhere.. how do we know there isnt some in south america who arent on the books of everton? everton will more than likely scout everywhere.. as i said above..

CP

2 words - work permits. would be very hard to get for young players who are uncapped for their country {Ed025's Note - good point..

I have bought the pre-season package.. i can stream it from my pc, would i be able to post the link on here?

CP {Ed025's Note - yes mate..

Believable5 Unbelievable1

Ok ill set a website up later tonight.. and ill post the link about 30 mins before kick off tomorrow.. {Ed025's Note - cheers mate..

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would you do that if you have paid for it?

Agree0 Disagree0

Doesnt cost me anything.. also, helping fellow blues out...

CP

Agree0 Disagree0

I meant to say, doesnt cost me any extra to stream..

CP

Agree0 Disagree0

Good on you then CP much appreciated im sure. Mike

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed is their a way i can have my name showing automatically when replying to a message as i forget quite often to leave my name. {Ed025's Note - no mate...tie a piece of string round your finger or something..

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol just proved my point. Mike

Agree0 Disagree0

Cheers mate much appreciated

Agree0 Disagree0

Thats aweful kind of you CP, I don't imagine you'd get the same level of generosity on the kopite page.

Bobcat

Agree0 Disagree0

Would that mean its free for us then?

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes it would then be free to everyone, so the expense of the club bothering to send tv crews to the game will be exploited and a much needed revenue stream (pardon the pun) will be lost. We complain that we have no cash, then when the club try's to be innovative and generate extra income we find a way of spoiling it. We would be up in arms with a 10-15% increase in season tickets as well yet have pretty much the cheapest in the league.
Sorry to be a boring c**t but we can't have our cake and eat it, the club is trying to compete financially with serious revenue restrictions, Nike is a start but I think the shirts are too expensive I think ticket prices should go up 10% across the board, that would for example cover Naismith wages and allow us another free transfer.
Anyway stream away lads I for one will pay for the games I want to see.
Svenny

Agree0 Disagree0

Svenny £98 for a 14 year olds kit, socks, shorts, top

We need the directors to stop taking a huge slice of the profits (not just Bill) as we already pay out enough to support our team

if you had £25M budget to sign any players, who would you sign right now for everton?

i would get pienaar right away, zaha, clyne and ziegler also some left over..

Imagine moyes with that cash, he would transform everton.. i know clyne is free but we have to compensate him or something because of his age?

thats what i would spend it on anyway..

Just read the top ten candidates for golden boot this season jelavic is on there which I believe he is capable of 20+ but what upsets me is below it states 'if he continues like like season he will help everton punch above there weight'

Now for me when will journalists and pundits realise that as a team were easily capable of challenging top 4 I hate people think we're punching above our weight without the rubbish start we would win the league lol

Ant Wharton {Ed025's Note - being underdogs suits me ant..

Believable4 Unbelievable0

If we get underestimated, means we are over exceeding or whatever the word is.. better for us!

CP

Agree0 Disagree0

I think journalists mean punching above our weight in terms of money spent compared to others which is right in a way. Nothing to do with the quality of our players. Mike

I know this is gonna upset a few but got to say, as no one else seems to....

Pienarr.....

Love him and think that he changed our season, along with the Jellyfish.

BUT.......

Why did he leave in the first place? We never pushed him out, if I remember rightly he asked to leave?

Now I know the grass isn't always Greener and football is a bussiness, although, why do we all want a player that was quick enough to turn his back on us, when we made him the man he is?
Yes it could be his agent pulling strings, but now we look set to pay more for a player (few years older) that we once had on the books!!

If we where to get him back cheaper, I'd understand but NO, we're gonna pay extra for an older, out of favour player.

Well done Everton, you know how to work your magic!!!

If he was getting first team football at Spuds do you think he would come back to us...... BIG F'ING NO!!!

So really.....we're the next best option.

What if he has a good half season and someone like, dunno, Arsenal come in for him? Is he gonna be loyal?
F'ing NO!!

Like I said above I'd love him back, but I feel like the abused wife staying with her cheating fella, coz she "love's him & he's not like that all the time"

Rant over

Gods Doctor {Ed025's Note - sometimes people make mistakes doc (myself excluded..ha), but holding grudges helps no one, the main thing for me is...will he benefit everton, for me thats a yes!, so its time to forgive and forget, and move on..

I've always believed that the sign of great manager is the ability to manage the transition from one great team to another. I watched the Kendall team of the eighties which came and went all too quickly because of circumstances out of their control. In my opinion Moyes created a really good side based on team spirit with players wanting to play for each other and the fans. With the loss of Arteta and the previous purchase of Fellaini and now the capture of Naismith at a time when Cahill's career is nearing its end, I think Moyes is laying the groundwork for that transition. I believe Moyes will create another really good if not great side and be viewed as one of the best managers our club has ever had. I for one wish it was a level playing field with transfer caps as Moyes would rightly be seen as the best manager in the Premier League.

Popeye {Ed025's Note - cracking post that popeye..

Believable9 Unbelievable1

The work in the background over the last ten years is amazing too, look at the quality of some of the young players we have on our books, Moyes was very much involved in moving the team to Finch Farm and developing our coaching teams and youth set up. I agree completely with you Popeye and really do see us having a very strong future especially when the fair play rules kick in and teams will have to rely more on their own developed players.

Just reading the evening standard on line, and in particular a story about the impending Peanuts transfer. Some moronic spurs fan has commented on there 'small fish in a big pond...Everton just right for Pienaar'

Without checking the stats, i bet Pienaar got more goals and assists than Modric in half the games. You wait till Peanuts is back where he belongs, and we'll see who is a small fish when we come down to Sh*te Hart Lane!

Ed,this Greek lad thats on trial or had a trial is he good? And are we going to sign him? {Ed025's Note - sorry mate, i have no info at the moment..

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Seems interesting, someone has put up a piece on the transfer page, it says he scored during a game he played in on trial with us in February. Captained the Greek under 19's to euro final against Spain, beating England and our Ross and co on the way and he is the Greek under19's top scorer. Luc Cas' kid is off to Twente. Using part of 12/15m received from L.De Jong transfer to BMGladbach, to fund a permanent deal of around 6m.

Never seen him play so can't say I'm disappointed.

Is this Katidis trial concrete? Wasn't he the stand out player at the recent U19's comp Ed? {Ed025's Note - dont know ...sorry..

more than likely, the team against utd will possibly be:

howard
hibbert - heitinga - jagielka - baines
osman - gibson - rodwell - pienaar
fellaini
jelavic

Naismith won't be started right away.. he needs to get fully fit and will begin making his way into the first team several games in..

cahill cant play because hes suspended...

im also not too sure about back four because moyes seems to favour distin whenever hes fit...

Ste1878

Believable4 Unbelievable2

I think your right with the Distin thing, Moyes likes a left footer on the left of the cb's and vice versa. Also good point on Naismith but a full pre-season under his belt should see him ready for the season. But it is United first up Phil Neville always gets the nod and rightly so after the leadership he showed at Old Trafford in the 4-4, hibbo will start on the bench

Team i would play next season

Howard
Heitinga Jagielka Distin Baines
Rodwell Gibson
Naismith Fellaini Pienaar
Jelavic

Heitinga had on his bio " Right back and centre back for Everton" a few weeks ago. He has played there before and i would test him there cause Distin is so consitant and fast in the defence.
Naismith said on his Live WebChat on Everton site he prefers to play on the right but not a winger. Right attacking mid in 4231 formation is perfect for him. We can change the formation while the games progress and see were it takes us, but i would start of with this to see how it is

TonyEFC

Believable2 Unbelievable0

For me, Heitinga has to be at CB, personally think he is the best CB we have at the club and would rather see Jags or Distin at RB if we were going in that direction. Besides, I really don't think Hibbert is as bad as ever says, he was very good during our 2nd half run and provided some decent crosses that led to goals.

Also all this worry about us selling baines of course we want to keep him but if weve gotta sell to keep the wolves at the door so be we dont want problems with the bank weve got 2 good kids in reserve and we should trust in moyes up the toffs

Nessy {Ed025's Note - we have a lot more than 2 good kids in the reserves nessy..

Sorry Nessy there is no more best in him mate.

Seriously, how many chances does a striker need to join his so called boyhood club.

Degs, he was also offered to come back when Newcastle bought him.

I would crawl from Swansea over broken glass to have a chance of turning out under the sweet tune of Z Cars. He's no Evertonian.

He needs to join a team stupid enough to think he cares about them.

Would of had him a few years ago ore Newcastle but not now not ever

Absolutely agree Degsy. Owen was never a great 'team' player, it was all about 'me'.
Not right at all for a team like ours, even he had the pace - which he clearly now hasn't.

Dont get me wrong, Im would not be 100% happy if we brought Owen in however! Thinking of it as a direct replecement for Macfadden? Doesnt sound too bad!

I don't know why everyone is slagging owen off the guy knows where the net is ok he is past his best but is still capable of coming of the bench and grabbing a winner I would take him on a pay as you play contract and also throw in a goal bonus could be a good piece of business I also think everyone we buy or take from man utd is successful

As much I love this site the last week or so has left me feeling embarrassed. Why is it that every rumour - and it is a rumour page - that someone doesnt like leads to calls of 'lies', 'BS' and 'kopite'?

It's rumour page - good and bad - yet so called evertonians are backbiting and abusing each other. You be ashamed of yourselves. I thought us blues stuck together but apparently we don't.

I can see where you are going with this mate, BUT the definition of rumour is as follows:

rumour US, rumor [ˈruːmə]
a. information, often a mixture of truth and untruth, passed around verbally

The majority of the rumours on here are posted by little smelly fat turds who have a can of Stella in one hand and a Moroccan brown rizzla in the other sat on their bed with nothing to do with their sad little lives wearing a dirty red T Shirt that they have had on for the past 5 days reminiscing in past glories that are long gone, by the way not all Red's are like that.

A rumour to me is something that has a bit of credence at least, even if only a minute amount.

You can see why us Blues get peeed off when people are continually putting crap on here that Baines has had medicals, we have accepted 12 million, Fellie is going to Man U etc etc.

I agree with Disillusioned Toffee. I see no point in costantly accusing blues who half the time are just passing on information they have heard from somewhere, not purposley trying to aggrevate us blues. I say we stick together instead of locking horns all the time.

Hi Ed, Seems to support my suggestion that unsigned rumours go on the dodgy page and whilst I enjoy DBN elloquent description of our neighbours I am concerned re his blood pressure

In my eyes, for this to be a successful transfer window for us we need to get one more striker, a pacey right mid and a playmaker with flair in centre mid (i.e. a replacement for Arteta).

I think we could manage with the striker and RM Murf, please bring in Adam Johno Bill.

By the way I mean after Peanut of course

Once pienaar is in we just definitely need the right winger - any others after that a bonus - but we have got some forwards after jella - naismith the greek vic and cahill - both wings are top priority
