Apparently Mexico's goalkeeper tonight is a free agent.
Would anyone take him on a free as back-up to Tim Howard? 28 years old and shouldn't have big wage demands. Probably a better goalie than Joel too.

{Ed025's Note -he was very good tonight NSNO..

He had a great game if he always plays like that sign him up.

Agree0 Disagree0

He played a blinder last night. Sign him up as back up for Howard and let Robles go. If not I've said before we should be looking at Alex McCarthy from Reading

Two strikers we should get are Alexandre Lacazette and Michy Batshuayi don't the they would cost that much maybe 16 17 mil

{Ed025's Note - each?..

That's why Lukaku is a no go for me. On his day he is unplayable but otherwise he is useless. Concistancey may come with age but with our spending power we need 2 centre forwards as we have no recognised striker now in our squad (Kone does not count as he has never played for us) so in my opinion we need 2 strikers and I would rather get 2 who maybe at their best are 3/4 of Lukaku at his best but who offer their best more consistently

{Ed025's Note - bit harsh on romelu that svenny, he done a great job for us last season, and besides the odd game improved us no end, show a bit of gratitude fella, he had loads of offers but chose us..and i for one am really pleased about that mate..

Lukaku got absolutely no service belgium were poor. He's proved he can do it in the primeur league and play in our style for 20-25m he'd be great not the 30m+ the papers have plucked out of the air today

Agree0 Disagree0

The guy scored 15 goals. The Yak did that in a season for us as well. My main point is that I think Lukaku will be a world beater but as it stands we don't have a recognised striker (again Kone is an unknown) in our ranks and I would rather spend 30 million on 2 than it all on one. If he got injured for example.
However I will stare he is far from the finished article and he went missing for several games last season.
On a different note this Brazilian crowd vs Mexico is without doubt the greatest crowd I have ever witnessed. From national anthem to general noise, incredible. I thought the Gladys could make a racket on a good day my word this is real noise

caulker is over rated not worth the 8m asking price.

Agree0 Disagree0

Havent seen cerci play but 13 goals and 12 assits ain't bad I like persic seen him a couple of times edd he reminds me a lot of pienarr who I think will go

Cerci is an unbelieveable talent. Does not surprise me in the slightest that Torino have asked for £25 million. He's lightning quick and loves to cut in from the right onto his left foot, he's very similar to Bale in that respect although he doesn't quite possess the level of skill and strength that Bale possesses, what he lacks in those areas he more than makes up for with his crosses, precise through balls and short passes. I don't think Torino will want him to leave but I'm sure £18-20 million would secure him, although the max I'd pay would be £15 mil. If we thought McCarthy was a steal for £13 mil then we'd be in dreamland if we got this guy.

Caulker is just the type of defender we need. Strong in the air, weighs in with a few goals from set pieces and most importantly plays it out of defence. 8 million for him is actually a good price I think

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - me too ace..

He'd be too much of a risk seeing as we supposedly have around 30 million? to spend. Torino is the only club he has really performed at in his career out of about 6 different clubs. To spend 15-20 million on him, when he has no Premiership experience could very easily turn out to be a very costly mistake, especially when its a goalscoring striker we really need.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeh he could flop or he be great nil but risks u take as manger and in bobby I trust

Agree0 Disagree0

NSNO, I'm guessing you don't watch Italian football from your post. He played very well for Fiorentina in his first season but had a fallout with the club and then his performances become a bit erratic. I didn't see any of his games when he went on loan but he was certainly a decent player for Foirentina and is an amazing player for Torino, most clubs would be lucky to have him. Also, spending that much on him would be a gamble but that's what football is all about, what if Kenwright didn't take a gamble on Martinez and opted for a safer option in Stubbs etc? What if Martinez didn't gamble £13 mil. On James McCarthy?
