I've just been on the RS to have a look at the thoughts of their fans. Now before you call me bitter, I don't do it to have a go, etc. I genuinely do it to see their thoughts, and of course cheer me up when I'm down, but I never post over there. just taking an interest in how their fans think about their team.

Anyway, back to my point. Upon reading their thoughts about their team, I came across a blue who had posted the song that I love (singing the blues). And in reply to that, a red posted this: "You nimrods are no better seeing how your team just about cheated your way to an undeserved win".

Now what I'm saying is, how absurdly blind can he be? That win by the blues was fully deserved. OK, they should have had a stone wall penalty. However, we should have had a stone wall penalty (both having Felli at the talking point). I think if the ref would have seen that Nastasic's arm blocking Felli then he would have gave it to us (the penalty), which would have made him give the penalty to City in the 2nd half, but I think the ref thought it was fair to keep it equal. On top of that, Kev had a goal ruled wrongly out.

Also, right from Mucha, who played like his nickname suggests: "The Slovak Casillas", right through to Vic, who played so good I'm speachless (still, and this is almost 36 hours afterwards).

Finally, I regret saying certain things after the Wigan match, but I'd just like to say one match doesn't change everything. However, I did say that, although I said Moyes should go, even if he is still here I'd never protest, etc, as what he's done for us is unbelievable. And I think a win like that should motivate players like Felli who have dropped off the beat recently.

If Moyes stays or goes, if Felli stays or goes, Everton is Everton and as long as the players put 100% (which is why I was so peed after the Norwich and Wigan matches, respectively) in I will support them no matter what the result.

World-class performance blues. Do that week in week out, no matter what the result, and I, with every else i'd imagine, will always support the people wearing the Royal Blue Mersey. Period!

My team for stoke!
Mucha
Coleman heitenga distin baines
Mirallas Gibson Osman Oviedo
Jelly vic

Could be a blessing in disguise that fellaini will miss out, it will make us less inclined to play the long ball, and keep it down, which is the best tactic when playing stoke! Oviedo is pretty much a like for like for pienaar but with a lot more pace! Jelly and vic up top will worry any defence (if they are up for it) I really hope moyes go for that team! Can't leave vic or jelly out after Saturdays game!

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Would be my team too but I'm guessing DM will go for Mirrales on the left and Naismith on the right

Moyes proved yesterday how good a manager he is to pick the lads up from the Wigan defeat and then turn over the champions a week later wow the effort and performance was brilliant, now let's have that effort for remainder of season cause if we do we will not be far away especially with teams we have to play arsenal spurs Liverpool we are not out of race for 4th 6 points behind and 1 game in hand I'm just hoping that Jelavic can kick on from his goal as that coul be the difference

If Moyes does go in the summer, I think we should bring in roberto di matteo. Blueray

Believable2 Unbelievable5

I don't he was sacked by west brom remember.

Ye but he won the CL

Don't know if anyone has mentioned this yet?
The introduction of Naismith? I really cannot understand what Moyes or Round were thinking of.
Yes down to ten men you have to make your substitutions count. Surely you want a player like Oviedo in that situation.

Believable3 Unbelievable3

I thought naismith did well when he came on. he's just an average squad player but every team needs them.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree, he is still dithering Davy, playing his mates, why not play oviedo, or someone else, what's wrong with the man?

Agree0 Disagree0

He tackled Silva then set up Fellaini on that run when Jelavic scored. Good sub if you ask me.

BitterBlue {Ed007's Note -

Agree0 Disagree0

I get that. Oviedo has bundles of energy and pace and has played CL football so isn't exactly a rookie. And he looks neat and tidy whenever I've seen him play. Strange one but Moyes clearly knows best

Agree0 Disagree0

Neville was on touchline and shouted at fans saying mirralles was injured

Agree0 Disagree0

Mirallas could of been injured, or Moyes could of subbed him as he wouldn't want to of lost him to injury or suspension especially when Fellaini and Pienaar are both out the next game.

Agree0 Disagree0

Its only oviedo's first season, it happens, baines and jags sat on thee bench for most of their first season so I don't see the problem, he will be more ready next year

sat there and thought about this and can't see why it wouldn't work, surely we will have say 8 million to spend this summer, if we put that into wages rather than a transfer budget, get rid of, neville, naismith, hitz, howard we could actually improve significantly using the free market and spending 3 million on a single player

honda - 3 million, the highly rated keeper at alanta consigli is free in the summer, rausch the cb at hannover, only 24 linked with every major bundesliga team again free in the summer, marica the striker at shalke very talented with his link up play again free in the summer, defour at porto everyone knows has quality when he plays and again a free in the summer, di santo from wigan only 23 and has potential also free, ittura from malaga is a suprise free, immense quality and composure in the midfield, douglas the cb at twente free again only 25 and very good, nearly joined arsenal last summer for 10 million, babel from ajax, yes played for the rubbish but would bring a lot of pace to our side and free, natko from rubin kazan is free also, team could look like this

consigli/mucha
coleman/hibbo
distin/douglas/rausch
heitinga/duffy/natko
baines/oviedo/garbutt
pienaar/babel
gibbo/barkley/ittura
defour/honda/osman
fellaini
jelavic/anichebe/disanto/marica

to me that's a far far stronger team than we currently have and yet all done through a free market, am I missing something?ED?
hibbos boot {Ed025's Note - there are some good players there boot, but as they will be free, their wages will be very high, but i can see your point mate..

Believable1 Unbelievable3

Didn't we try and sign defour a fet years ago for around 10-12 million?

Agree0 Disagree0

Kevin Mirallas, Phil Jagielka?

Agree0 Disagree0

Fellaini is a near certainty to go in the summer which will free up around £75k a week in wages, that should be enough to cover wages for 2 decent players like Defour and AN Other. Makes sense but this is Everton who don't seem to do common sense

Agree0 Disagree0

You must be joking if you think £75k will be enough to cover two decant players wages, even crap players like neville are on £50k a week so not a chance i'm afraid.

Agree0 Disagree0

Some good players there but it would be very foolish to think any of that will actually happen. Naismith deserves another year for me.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think you'll find players from leagues other than the premiership are on a considerable amount less than prem league players, so £75k would easily cover 2 players' wages. I'd be surprised if Douglas, Babel et al are on much more than £15-20k and would jump at the chance of £35-40k a week

Agree0 Disagree0

Natkho is a central midfielder not a centre back.

Team vs Stoke.

Mucha
Neville Heitinga Distin Baines
Coleman Gibson Osman Mirallas
Anichebe Jelavic

most sensnisble one I can image not a lot of change and still strong witjout the suspended pienaar and fellaini

Believable3 Unbelievable6

I would leave Colman at right back keep mirrallas on the right and put Oviedo on the left the rest I agree with Stef the blue

Agree0 Disagree0

I would maybe put Duffy at CB. Stoke are a very physical side and he's a big physical lad, unlike Johnny.

We missed a trick releasing Callum mcmanaman as a school kid. Lad looks quality whenever he plays for Wigan. Exactly what we need bit of pace, creativity and he can finish (as we unfortunately found out last week!)

Believable3 Unbelievable6

He has put in an absolutely disgusting 'tackle' on the Newcastle right back. If he hasn't broken his leg or ended his career, he has gotten away with it. McManaman wasn't even sent off. Disgrace.

If David Moyes leaves I want Paul Lambert to take over. He has a weak Villa team but if he had our players he could do a good job. Thoughts lads

Believable3 Unbelievable12

I'm not sure if replacing one miserable, dour Scot with another is the way to go.

Mike {Ed007's Note - Hoi you! Behave yourself.... I would rather be a dour Scot than John Bishop, infact I would rather be Joey Barton than be John Bishop!!!}

Agree0 Disagree0

I wasn't haven't a go at Scots ed, just miserable, dour ones like Moyes and Lambert. Also, If I had the choice, I actually think I would be John Bishop rather than Joey Barton aswell.

Anyway, who to replace Moyes then?

I just want to see people feelings about Lescott, would you take him back if the 4 mil being quoted is true.

bluepaddy

Believable6 Unbelievable5

I'd take him back but wages are going to be a problem.

Agree0 Disagree0

No chance. He is nearly 31 now and isn't that good. Should be looking at younger players.

Mike

Agree0 Disagree0

I've no problem if he comes back, as long as he gives 100% and doesn't expect to be a regular 1st team starter

Agree0 Disagree0

Yep, I'd have him back.
30 years old and we know he's a good player, probably 5 or 6 years left in him.

Not sure about the fee though. Last year of contract. if he wanted to come back he could get that down a bit by ruling out other clubs.

Agree0 Disagree0

The way I see it we can't afford to be taking on players who will have no resale value whatsoever, we have enough players without any resale value already without adding more.

All yesterday confirmed for me is that it is time to part company with the great man Mr Moyes. True everton legend in my book but he has taken us as far as he can. For what reason I don't know but he will never produce an Everton that does not bottle it when it really counts. Chelsea final, Liverpool semi, Wigan last week. He has produced a wonderful first 11 and an ok squad although it is ageing now, and he has done this on more than one occasion, however the fact remains that we all know deep down under Moyes should we need a draw to finish top 4 last game of the season we would lose. His consistency is amazing but maybe it was due to not winning much as a player I don't know but that extra bit of belief a team needs in the pressure games often when we are favourites or going for that elusive trophy his teams freeze, I believe that comes from the top.

Svenny, oh and ps Martinez teams do seem to play when the heat is on, but I'm still not convinced he is the right replacement

Believable1 Unbelievable6

17 Mar 2013 12:35:26
Martinez has passed the audition he's strong tactically and can work on a shoestring. Zola would certainly attract top players and have us playing football.
But either of these would come at a cost, so we'll probably end up with Neville.

Agree0 Disagree0

Martinez has had long enough to prove himself in the premiership. Maybe some people like the excitement of a relagation battle. And before people quote the players he's had to sell, had a small budget, etc, so have we. If I was him, I'd want to join a club with a bit more ambition than us, not jump out of the fire into the frying pan. Sad, but true. Blue Lee

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Mar 2013 16:19:57
Sad but true, your argument is self-contradictory.

Agree0 Disagree0

How is it self contradictory? I'm not saying I want Martinez. I think he's overrated, but in his position, where he's turned downvilla and Liverpool, he must/might be waiting for a bigger job. That rules us out. Sad, but true. Blue Lee {Ed002's Note - I think that there is a very good chance that Martinez will be the next manager, but I would not be surprised to see Mark Hughes come in to the reckoning.}

if moyes is leaving at the end of the season which is looking likely then I really hope kenwright and the board are seriously lining up a replacement now.
i hope they don't act like they do in a typical transfer window and leave it till the last minute.
most clubs are already planning for next season in terms of pre season training camps, player transfers in and out.
please don't leave it till the last day of the season

Believable6 Unbelievable1

Why is it looking likely that Moyes will leve? Absolutely nothing has changed since Moyes said that he'd been assessing the situation at the end of the season, so why is everyone convinced he's off? He look very passionate at City game, to me he looks more like a man that's staying than a man that's leaving. So can someone explain to me where this viewpoint is coming from? Why people think that he's definitely off?

Can't we play them every week? Great performance! Only bad point is we will miss pienaar and felly for two games! Fellani will be a big miss versus stoke! But I think moyes should bring in Oviedo and jelly! Can't drop big vic Fter yesterday's performance and can't leave jelly out after getting his goal so start them both! Looking forward to next week!

2 massive points to take from yesterday's performance

1 - Clean sheet for Mucha, a keeper needs confidence and that will do him a world of good. We just might see the best of this guy over the coming games. This will give the defence confidence too.

2 - A goal for Jelavic. Boy he needed that.

2 things that have been costing us this season. 2 things addressed in this match.

Great Win Everton. That was the Jeckyll and Hyde performance if I have ever seen one. Next game we must start Jelavic with Oviedo/Barkley. Moyes I hope you read this Phil Neville is not up to it. Should never get on the field unless we are 5-0 up with 2 minutes to go. And by the way Tim Howard look out you now have a challenger on your hand. Jan Mucha was just Brilliant today.

Believable4 Unbelievable1

Assuming you mean Oviedo/Barkley in place of the banned players, why Barkley? Why not play Jelavic and victor up top, straight swap Stevie P for Oviedo and Roberts your fathers brother!

Have to say we now have the best 2 full backs in the league. For all the people who were having a go at Coleman at the start of the season and me a little bit to but I did post that if Everton stuck with him that Moyes would get him defending properly he would become a great right back. For the last 6 games barring the Wigan game when no 1 was MOTM he has been our best player in defence and attack. Today he was outstanding defending and going forward. That header to deny I think it was Tevez nearing the end of the game was outstanding, tracked his run and then to head it out under pressure was fabulous could have easily put it in his own net. Since he came back from his last injury he has been our best player. Which makes me think last season there was rumour he was carrying an injury for most of it after that horrible tackle he got in that warm up game against was it Villareal. So well done Seamus and the lads today. Play like that for the rest of the season and we won't be far away from that 4th spot. Some though games coming up away to Tottenham, Aresnal, Liverpool, and Chelsea but play like we did today we will pick up a good few points from these games. Got to say living in Dublin watched the game on TV got to give a big tribute to the fans for great atmosphere, would not say I am a regular to Goodison but get to 3 or 4 games a season for the last 20 years and sounded like a great atmosphere today so well done to the fans could easily have been quiet after lasts weeks shambles. Hope Jelavis starts scoring now as we will need some of his goals to get near that fourth spot. So well done all today. So bring them on. COYB.

No knee jerk reactions on this post is there? Baines is quality, Coleman is useless and has been all season. He has a decent 90 minutes and he has become the next Cafu.

Mike

Agree0 Disagree0

Get a grip Mike yesterday just shows what Coleman is capable of! And I hope he keeps it up!

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope he keeps it up aswell Tree Blue. what I don't agree with is calling him the best full back in the league after 1 decent performance. let's wait to see if he can keep this form up before we start labeling him as world class.

Mike

Agree0 Disagree0

Hmm, Pablo Zabaleta, Glen Johnson, Kyle Walker, Bacary Sagna or Seamus Coleman. I'd take all 4 before Coleman. One excellent performance doesn't exactly make him better than these.

Tbh Emmerson Boyce is better than Coleman.
