People are just unbelievable we just got beat away at reading ok it's a bad defeat but reading were going to win sooner rather than later just happen to do it against us just like qpr will against someone else but facts are we're a better side than we were last season and I think we will end up with 10-15 pts more than last season we should probably have a few more points on the board as well when you look at the Newcastle and Fulham games which we should of won but that's football we will loose games this season just like everyone else like Norwich beating utd arsenal w.brom beating Chelsea do I need to say more yes it was an opportunity to gain points on the top 4 but I am happy so far plus we look like we have more consistency than arsenal Tottenham we should aim for top 4 based on what I have seen so far even Chelsea look vulnerable
And the RedS winning. This weekend has thrown up some surprising results and we've no right to assume we'll beat little old Reading who, as you rightly say, were going to win eventually. You have to earn your victories in this league, it's not just a case of turning up and expecting to win because that won't happen. Credit to Reading, their victory was richly deserved even if we should have been out of sight by half time, we didn't do enough in the 2nd half to merit the victory. But 5th in the league after nearly a third of the season isn't too bad and we could and should have been much better off. December will shape our destiny this season, if we're still up there come January then there's no way we won't strengthen in the window and push on in the second hlaf as we usually do.
17 Nov 2012 19:22:11
No Fellaini or Neville next week and we will probably be without Gibson, Hibbert and Mirallas. Norwich have just beaten United and all of a sudden the game next week looks a lot tougher! It could be a long run up to Christmas and we should have 8 more points than we have.
NWS
Not too bothered about neville being out but will obviously miss felli so we need players like pienaar and jelavic to put in a performance cos they havent been doing it of late.i would play johnny in CM as well as he can do the job gibson does.

Easy decision on TV tonight blues, sack match of the day off and watch THE ONE on Sly 1, awesome film and not as if worth bothering watching a dismal display of football on MOTD
Degsy
Sounds like a kopite to me this. Come on Degsy, don't give up mate. We are still going to win the league. You have to be happy tonight, losing to Reading isn't that bad, after all I expect them to finish at least 5th.

New Everton would start cocking it up they usually do love it..You need a Suarez in your team a master at work.
Still a gap between a decent team (yes we had an off day) and a 1 man team like yourselves
Bad result for the reds in their relegation battle that.did stevie g give premission to celabrate with rat boy today?wont be long till 200 teeth will be celebrating winners medals with tevez, silva and co.
I agree with you. I've been saying it for a while on here, but people don't listen to me. People may say I'm pessimistic but I am just a realist. I've been telling you all that we aren't as good as people think and I doubt we will finish in the top 4. I also hate to say it, but Suarez is different class. A top drawer player.
Mike
Actually mike ,i said it and u called me a kopite, take it back now, true blue ,efc 4 life
17 Nov 2012 18:13:44
Mike the red speaks again
Think Mike might be colour blind. This is the Blues page, Liverpool's is the red one
I was being sarcastic when I said that to you, true blue ,efc 4 life mate. I agreed with you. But as you can see, some clowns do actually think I am a Liverpool fan, so I was using their stock responses. Sorry for the confusion mate.
Mike
I know this is going to be hugely controversial but I feel DM is out of his depth at this level. He's been great for us, no doubt, but I feel he's always at his best when we're the underdog and there's no expectation. Now there is I don't feel he's up to it. Point in case, last season's FA Cup semi we were the form team and favourites and he bottled it. I think we're seeing the same again, unfortunately.
Says The Kopite whos team have only won 4 times at home in 12 months! found your voice again av you! didnt hear a word when you werent winning jog on!
Someones just had a go at Moyes the Messiah there. Everyone on here call him a Kopite. Come on, you know you want to.
Mike
17 Nov 2012 17:06:08
why is it Liverpool play there best young player, who played a blinder and we loan ours out. What a chance wasted. Now stand by for the red slaging.
I agree some of Mr Moyes decisions is mind numbing to say the least.
Because Barkley is nowhere near as talented as Sterling.
To be fair to Moyes, Sterling is a much better talent than Barkley. So it is easy for Rodgers to play him.
Mike
Barkley is better than Sterling imo
Mike you are a pessimistic sod, i've read 3 comments from you so far today and each one has been miserable to read for us blues.. Cut some slack!
toffee jack
The poster above my first post, agrees with me that Sterling is better than Barkley, but I know, lets have a go at Mike for having an opinion. I am not asking for people to agree with me. If you think that Barkley is better than Sterling then fair enough. But there must be a reason why Sterling is in Liverpools first team and has played for England, and Barkley is playing for Sheffield Wednesday.
Mike
That would be me Mike and I think your rationale is perfectly self-explanatory. I'm with you on this one mate. He's obviously not ready for the 1st team as Moyes wouldn't have loaned him out if he was. He's not proven anything yet and I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if he ends up just like Rodwell, unfulfilled potential
17 Nov 2012 21:58:45
Well you have barkley, who is being made learn his trade in the lower leagues and and grow into future star with a head on his shoulders!
And then you have sterling whos played a handful of games and is holding his club to randsom over his contract already!
I would say as a footballer Sterling is better, but I would rather have Barkley because he doesn't have an attitude problem and he respects his own manager...............
TC
Barcley will get more caps for england he is a better prospect both are good why compare just enjoy i wouldnt swap barcley for anyone in is age group

I return to this forum just to say that results are everything and that too many recent draws - and now a defeat at Reading - show that we still lack the true winner quality. Trust us to give Reading their first victory of the season! Forget about bad luck or poor refereeing - if we can't score from the chances we create and if we can't keep clean sheets, then we're not going to do well. Anyone still think we have a Champions League team - let alone a squad with enough quality in depth? Once a Blue, always a Blue...but it's so difficult sometimes :-(
Cowpat Sid
You red, You Liverpool fan, You kopite etc etc. Or is that only reserved for me on here now?
Mike
I trust you're being ironic, Mike. Having supported Everton through thick and thin for nearly fifty years, I reserve the right to speak my mind in a strong, but not offensive, manner. Once a Blue, always a Blue.
Cowpat Sid
I agree with you Cowpat. It's just that every time I make the same point, the same bunch of clowns on here accuse me of being a Liverpool fan and call me a kopite etc. I was just trying to show how pathetic it is. Sorry mate.
Mike

Never top four contenders if we cant finish off the likes of no-win until today Reading-enough chances to have won three games in the first half, Osman,Jelavic,Pienaar all guilty of wasting chances-not good enough I am afraid, Albion look like genuine contenders for the fourth spot now and we've only ourselves to blame. Also Seamus ,although good attacking will always cost us at the back and unless this is addressed the RS will soon overtake us. Gutted and despondent.
Why aren't you all having a go at this post. Oh yeah, it doesn't say Mike at the bottom does it?
Mike
I think you need to get over this mike. if you would just make a genuine positive comment for once people might start to respect you.
17 Nov 2012 17:02:25
What a wasted opportunity with chelski losing. We need to tighten up at the back and not being so wasteful in front of goals. Another 17 attempts and only 1 scored simply isn't good enough in the league. Though I thought we were denied at least one stone-wall pen, I thought Reading wanted it more and deserve a lot of credit for fighting more for the result. Norwich is now a must-win if it wasn't already if we are to stay in touch
17 Nov 2012 16:55:27
utter shock game should av been done at half time gutted we lost to rubbish a poor team
17 Nov 2012 16:52:36
Honestly we were awful in the second half! Jelavic what is wrong he's like a different player Coleman is ****
Ant Wharton
17 Nov 2012 16:52:05
take a bow Coleman fans - still at least he's good value for 60k hey and one day with enough games and experience we may get a million for him - having cost us tens of millions on a champs league place - where's hibbo and gibbo FFS!!
it'll be a different story once we get these two and mirallas back - shows what a gulf there is though due to champs league money - we get three injuries and we're struggling to put out a quality team
felli will be off soon - but at least we'll be getting value for money off coleman hey boys?
Agreed. Headless chicken, naïve, dull. That's what you get for 60k these days, not an awful lot. For every assist there's 5 mistakes. Abysmal all round
Another terrible challenge by coleman.
moyes needs to f**k him off ASAP as he is clearly out of his depth.no football brain at all.

Everton team today CONFIRMED
Howard
Coleman jageilka Heitinga Baines
Naismith hitzlsperger Osman pienaar
Fellaini
Jelavic
Bench Mucha Oviedo Distin Duffy vellios juinor Kennedy
Really pleased to see hitzlsperger in the starting line up, he can't do worse than Neville to be honest and pleased to see Kennedy on the bench too, would like to see him get on at some point even just for 5 minutes.
BlueClarkey
Disgraceful officiating again against us. That's 2 pens we should've had
I'm really getting fed up of the poor officiating we're getting week in week out. It's cost us 6 points this season and it's cost us a penalty today. Now, I don't want Moyes going and putting refs under pressure and blatantly intimidating them like SAF does every time Man U lose, but maybe a little go here and there will do.
BitterBlue
I'm more concerned about our performances than the refs. We don't score enough and concede too easily. Outside of Utd we haven't played anyone either - 2 of the top 8. We look better to watch but we've got a tough winter approaching if we don't improve quickly

You Everton fans are bitter i made a fair comment and you bit like a dog! Come on Reading beat these no hopers BRIDGEBOY
You can't get over the fact when the Russian money has gone, it will be good buy to all your phony fans and players alike
You made a vague assumption, not a fair comment. C'mon West Brom beat these glory-seeking, mercenary football equivalents of hookers
I think bridgeboy needs to understand the difference between a fair comment giving a reasoned explanation for how that opinion was reached and a biased statement of belief on another teams site. You cannot expect to come on here and ram your one sided opinions down our throats and expect people to say "you know that was a well thought out comment that deserves more thought". Get a life and while your there get an education.

Have a look at Jamie Vardy for Leicester
Was chatting to some Fleetwood lads when they came to play Rochdale (my sorry neck of the woods) and they mentioned him.
So I had a look 25yrs but looks good.
