Yet another rumour that Everton will be in for Rojo. One thing is absolutely certain; if it comes off we cannot play him and Mina together at the back LOL.

I know there's a post further down with regards to the 250k donated by each club to RS but I wanted to throw my 2p's worth in.
It looks like the deal has been ratified by all involved which, for me, is an absolute travesty. I'm ashamed of our club for agreeing to hand over such a sum when it could be best spent on other, more pressing issues. Everton has been at the forefront of clubs giving back to their local community for many, many years, even winning awards for their efforts. Something like this golden goodbye goes along way to undoing that good work. There are many other worthy causes that could have used this money to help those in neeed so to hand it over to a man for doing his job, no matter how well he did it, is disgraceful.
Scudamore, if he had anything about him, should reject the idea and give the cash back to the clubs. It's not as if his high profile job hasn't paid him well enough over the last 20 years. If clubs can give out such vast sums on a whim then why do the likes of Speedo Mick, those who go above and beyond to collect for different charities, even bother? The grass roots game is dying and could use such sums to provide better facilities etc. This entire saga leaves a bitter taste in the mouth and those who have contributed should be ashamed.

Edit- I've just read an article in the echo that says the clubs had little choice in this matter and that the money will be taken from each club from some sort of fund. If Bruce Buck wants to give his friend cash then let him, no other club should be forced to do so. The entire saga stinks whichever way you look at it!

It’s possible that the donation has come out of an account that our club could not prevent on their own. I’m led to believe that we were unhappy with the arrangement but nevertheless were along with a few other clubs powerless to stop.

Everton have not directly handed the money over but it has come from a fund that holds money that goes to all 20 PL clubs. I’m happy to be corrected if any of this is wrong though.

You're right TA, I had to add to this as I read an article stating as much not long after posting the original comment!

Thanks Bluepotato. I don’t care how much he has negotiated for the PL over the years. I doubt it would be any better than someone else who had to promote the marketing monster that this league is. But we have nothing to compare him to as he’s been the only one in the last 15-20 years. I’d argue that at £2million a year he’s just done his job and a fat bonus is just the rich yet again getting more than they would ever need.

If we have to sell Wembley because grass roots needs the money then why is this guy getting £5million for leaving. Disgusting!

Imagine if next time you are in the supermarket and they ask you for £250 for Doris the checkout girl who’s retiring, been there a while processed everyone’s shopping faultlessly for 25 years and even dug deep to hell stock the shelves on many occasion just isn’t going to happen so why is he getting an extra pay day for just doing his job that he has been well laid for already!
Shocking scenes!

I knew that he's taken a lot of cash for the job he did, ST, but I didn't realise getting laid was in the job description!
