Always liked him but injury record makes him a no for me.

He would be a great replacement for Darron Gibson's spot on the training table.

Just a position we don't need filling unless you were playing him as a 10. Think he's class to be honest, more ability than Ross and arguably Ali but he's made of glass let's be honest.

Good luck to Pennington on loan at Leeds!

Gylfi would be an awesome signing. But £50m is far too much, he's a food player, But not £50m worth, If we picked him up for £35m, That would be good business. That money could be spent on young more excuting stars. One that slipped through is Jairo Riedewald, who went to palace. Watched him for a while, very versatile defender. Exactly what we need right now. Especially with mori missing large slice of next season.
2 players I would love everton to have had a look at. Not sure if we have.
Riechedly Bazoer. Wolfsburg just picked him up. Insane player.

YOURI TIELEMANS. Monaco picked him up at start of season.
Mastour from Milan. These are all already better than gylfi. And are 7 years younger than him.
Alen Halilović. He's on loan at the moment from Hamburg playing for Las Palmas.
Cerny is an awesome left winger Czech player. Not the strongest on the ball. But blistering pace and more skills.
My favourite striker at the moment is breel embolo. Playing for shalke.
Anyone from my list and I would be extremely happy. Are we looking at any?

I'd be happy with those but it depends what Koeman feels will work.

Also how good they are in the prem. This league can make the best players look ordinary. Just ask Torres and schevchenko.

Spot on Smit, I just can't see the point in comparing foreign players untested in this league with those who are already doing the business. Granted there are a few shoe ins but they'll be out of our reach. Gylfi is worth whatever we are prepared to pay. He's by no means a gamble, and that as we all know comes with a premium. The rest, as good as they are in their own league will always present a gamble.

Falcao is another prime example of this, he failed at 2 clubs in England but was prolific in Portugal, Spain and France.

I'll give you schevchenko smit but Torres. He was only a spent force at Chelsea because of all the injuries whilst playing for the reds.

What does anyone make of the Martina signing? I understand the requirement for depth in the squad and you'd have to assume Koeman knows what he's getting, but I'd like to have seen Kenny getting game time until Seamus is back fit. And Holgate is a decent back up right back too.
Saints fans are more than happy to see him go.

Just another body in the squad to cover injuries and suspensions, etc with a lot more games this season.

Just because he was free doesn't mean he can't do a job for us. If he had cost 10m would it make him any better or worse?

No one mentioned money ricktee.

No offence meant Tadpoleblue, its just that some people assume because a player is released by one club he can't possibly be good enough for theirs. It happens with all fans of all clubs. He has obviously been broght in on a 3 year deal because RK knows him and not just as a stopgap until Seamus recovers.

I think Martina is a good addition, especially as he was a free transfer. I don't believe it will impact on Kenny or Holgate, it's great for a player to have competition to prove he is worth the place in the team, and if Kenny gets in ahead of Martina then we know he is doing well in training. Also, it's nice to have that safety net for Kenny, what happens if he gets put in the team and the pressure gets to him, it could hamper his development and knowing that Martina is there to also do the job means Koeman doesn't have to persist with a player who is not quite ready yet, i think of Pilkington here in that he was highly rated but was just awful when given the chance, i don't think it was his fault, he just wasn't quite ready yet, but it's evidence that slow integration to the first team is often necessary.

Ooops, i meant to say Pennington of course, been watching An Idiot Abroad and have Karl Pilkington on the brain. It's just too funny, check it out Blues.

Kenny is very young and can't be expected to be ready for a champions league chasing side. A few league cup games and eased into the pressure of the premier league over the next two years.

This Cuco will do a job covering Baines and Coleman and is quite versatile.

We are looking for strong centre forward with PL experience - I can think of one that isn't wanted by his club. Diego Costa. Chinese market closed. Althletico can't sign him.
I doubt they would want to sell to CL rivals. 50 million - he looks like an Everton player. Gets stuck in and bangs them in.
I may be dreaming but it would be a hell of a statement.

He wants Madrid that much that he's willing to sign now and wait till January to register. No chance of him signing for us.

On loan til January ?

If they loaned him out it would have to be to a non CL side so as not to cup tie him.
