12 months ago if someone had said, Martinez will be sacked, a new sugar daddy will buy into Everton, he will fund transfers, fund for a new stadium and the dark side will lose in two finals, I would call for the men in white coats.

After years of being blessed by the devil, has the Lord almighty finally said enoughs enough, the future is bright, every dog has its day and for once, everything is going our way.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

18 May 2016 23:55:20
It was obvious that Martinez would be sacked but a bit later than I expected and with the new money in the prem a takeover was allways likely, I hope your optimism is correct.

Hi ed. Do you know if there is any talks planned with any potential manager this week. Do you think we will appoint before the euros. And is de boer gone off the radar. Gone very quiet on that one.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Yes, I have explained about planned talks. No idea. No.}

18 May 2016 21:22:29
Unai Emery, mate. Just imagine if we had him. Proper winner.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

18 May 2016 21:41:17
Saw ssn earlier. had a Liverpool fan say "to evertonians, this is what a final is", then predicted a 4-0 win for Liverpool. Bet he feels a bit of a dick now. lol had the 4 goals right but not in right order. emery for efc manager.

18 May 2016 20:46:09
My two pence worth, i'm saying de boar as our next manager. We are not in Europe and coming off the back of a poor season. We need a name that people respect and are drawn too. Mourhino is first choice but he will not come and is only using us as a pawn for the Manchester United hob. Koeman is favourable but he has built up Southampton and is in Europe next year plus again I feel is priming himself for one more year at saints then off to a top European club. Going back to de boar, he maybe unproven in premier etc, but he will atract players, increase our world exposure and fingers crossed any improvement on the last two years is a bonus as I thought we were doomed under Roberto.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

18 May 2016 21:21:47
Absolutely spot on Paulybluenose. Although I will say that improvement on last 2 seasons is more of a minimum requirement rather than a bonus.

Good post mate.

Agree1 Disagree0

18 May 2016 22:03:34
While Frank DB is on my top 5 list I feel we need someone who can bring out the fight in our team, someone with a bit more experience basically

Arsenal, Spurs, man u, Chelsea, man city, lpool, west ham, leicseter, saints, stoke all could easily finish in the first 10 places next season (watch that be next seasons top ten lol)

We need someone like Gus Hiddink someone who'll role their sleeves up and work (work hard) , someone who knows the league and our players.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - A 70 year old you mean. Not going to happen.}

18 May 2016 23:02:36
ok maybe not a 70 year old but what is the age of the managers who have won the league here.? not young

for me I feel we need an experienced head to lead us forward.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - It will be around the mid 50s. Not too far off David Moye's age if that is how the new manager is being decided.}

18 May 2016 20:24:12
Hi ed,
Do you think there will be any developments on the frank de boer front this week as ajax have returned from there tour of china, do you think he is one of the serious candidates for the job?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - he certainly is derby, but i dont expect the appointment of the new manager as imminent mate, things will be done properly which will take a good few weeks i think..

18 May 2016 18:31:06
So out of the 4999 mangers linked with the job ed who are the top 3 mangers likely to get job.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - i would be guessing here but..de boer..favre..and koeman would be my guess konehead..

18 May 2016 18:25:06
. if there is to be a Director of football at Everton then that means no Jose Mourinhio as the guy likes to have total control of all the teams goings ons within the club!

Believable1 Unbelievable0

18 May 2016 18:32:32
Sure Chelsea had one and madrid.

Agree1 Disagree1

18 May 2016 20:09:44
Same applies to Moyes.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 May 2016 20:12:37

Believable2 Unbelievable1

18 May 2016 17:16:31
It seems obvious to me, by just how long it took them to sack Martinez, that Bill had no intention of sacking Martinez this season, no matter how bad things got. This to me also suggests that there was no plan on who would replace him and with the season ending, there isn't too much urgency to make the decision. All these fans asking every day if there's any news should probably prepare themselves for at least another few weeks wait before we get our answer and I wouldn't trust a word you read in the paper in the meantime.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - its always hard to determine fact from fiction AB only those in the top positions really know the score, the press especially will make up stories to sell papers and fans will read into it what they will, for me we have to trust moshiri and the club to do the right thing and nothing that has happened since he has been here has forced me to think otherwise mate..

18 May 2016 20:16:27
We will only seethe way forward when Moshiri obtains a proper controlling interest. Until then, Kenwright's presence will continue to muddy the waters and split the fanbase.

18 May 2016 16:31:41
Well I loved my Dad (RIP) but if he behaved like somebody else's Dad I'd say,

'Do ye mind Dad I'm not six anymore'

Can't be doing with this rubbish, yer a grown up man, if you want off, this is the price.

It was the same before he arrived, worn out with the money hiking antics.

Please don't come on and say this has been taken out of context.

If you want to stay, tell ye old man to stfu.

Bored of it, Grooooowl.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

Mush

I think that certain dad, has either got somekind of 'Tourette's syndrome'always Running off with the mouth speaking out of turn etc. or his own bank balance has given him 'greedy relative syndrome'

I'd plump for the latter meself.

On the new stadium front. Everton officials were i my country looking at the Aviva stadium some years back. It is a soulless round stadium but it is a beauty. Read into that if you want eds. What do you think eds.

COYB.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any specific plans yet and would expect them to be very much driven by the location. A green field development opens the door to pretty much anything. An inner city development will have a lot of restrictions, infrastructure issues, etc..}

18 May 2016 13:49:32
Daily star saying that Joe royle is being lined up as director of football role.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

18 May 2016 13:32:15
Interesting summer for us I think. Never been in a position like this moving forward and we won't have this spending power year after year so we need to get it right first time with a manager.
De Boer seems interesting, but apart from a weak Dutch league is unproven.
Is Pellegrini a big draw or was the draw at Man City the huge wages.
Realistically, which big name players are going to want to play for a club that has finished 11th the last 2 seasons without a big name manager?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

18 May 2016 12:02:52
. well I don't hear many efc fans crying this morning over Lukakus imminent departure. I think we're laughing all the way to the bank at £65 million!

Believable4 Unbelievable1

18 May 2016 13:59:17
When the lad wants to play he can really play but when he doesn't he's been awful. I'd have anyone's hand off at 65m, probably be the most he's ever worth when you look at ply players like Suarez going for not much more.

Agree3 Disagree0

19 May 2016 15:11:29
Give us the money. stripey top and a mask.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 May 2016 11:51:44
Why would anyone want benetiz? He turned inter milan into a heaving pile of shit (the same team that did the treble the previous year) he made a champions league club and caused their descent into the europa league in napoli and his time at real didn't really work out too. I know he's probably going to stay at newcastle but I was just curious why would anyone want him given his past record.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

18 May 2016 12:35:10
done to death mate, think he has a verbal to stay with the Geordies but nothing signed yet, poor sods he isn't signing yet as he is waiting for anything else, won't be coming here that 100% for certain, guaranteed, take it to the bank and finally its a fact boom.

Agree3 Disagree0

18 May 2016 11:20:52
As our club is run properly all we have is rumours. Hopefully we won't hear anything until it's finalised. Don't want to be promised the earth and end up a laughing stock. Like our new owner already, Kenwright deserves massive credit. With no money we've moved things are so much better than when he too over from Peter Johnson. Remember him.

Believable6 Unbelievable0

18 May 2016 11:31:45
Garyo
''Peter Johnson. Remember him. ''

Mate I'm still doing my damnest to forget him .

Agree3 Disagree0

18 May 2016 14:28:52
Exactly Garyo we won't know for sure until they announce it. Anyone that thinks they know who it will be at this stage or before it is announced are fooling themselves.

Doesn't stop anyone from speculating. Plenty of news and rumours this summer at Everton. As well as the manager it looks like a busy transfer market as well.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 May 2016 10:40:31
What interests me is the garbage coming fron Joe Anderson. He only wants to help us if we go for the redevelopment option and we foot half the bill. Then he says if we build our own stadium with our own money it could help Liverpool in it's bid for the commonwealth games. That being the case I think we should force Liverpool council to foot half the bill for our stadium.

Agree2 Disagree0

18 May 2016 12:07:11
Yes definatly for me, he is an Everton type manager but does the board no of him?

Agree0 Disagree0

18 May 2016 12:36:41
if the board is talking to him Milom then they probs know of him, apparently a director of football will be above/ alongside too, its all in Mr Moshiris hands mate and rightly so.

Agree1 Disagree0

18 May 2016 21:09:28
Ibe posted his name on here about five times. He'd by my top pick. He was my choice even when we got Martinez.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 May 2016 10:19:36
lukaku to go before euros, put a £70 million price tag on him, tell clubs put up or shut up. i hope we get a manager before the euros so he an see what we got and what we need. would love a high profile manager, but it looks to me between fdb, koeman and moyes. koeman my choice. some one who knows the premier league. might even bring mane with him.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

18 May 2016 10:51:52
Dazz

''"At the moment I think Manchester United or Bayern Munich are the most suitable for him, especially Bayern, " said Lukaku Sr. ''

Man. Utd wouldn't suit him imo, LVG would stifle him with an obligatory 2 touches before he takes a strike and then there's the looming JM factor once again?

Agree2 Disagree0

18 May 2016 11:06:34
Made me laugh when he said Italy would be a no go because Italian defenders are too good.
Lets hope his new team don't draw Juventus in the Champions league.

Lol Frank

This Lukaku Sr. knows how to build confidence in his boy or what?

Agree2 Disagree0

18 May 2016 10:01:52
Just getting a bit worried about us being linked with foreign managers, I just worry that we don't do a villa, they brought in a mangager with no premier experience and see what happened.

I wonder if Unai Emery from Sevilla is on the list, looks the real deal for me.

18 May 2016 11:43:49
forgot him Frank ha ha, ye he ain't bad either mate.

Agree2 Disagree0

18 May 2016 12:15:14
We all know the names of the successful overseas managers but we forget the failures and there are many of them.
The guys that have ben successful have tended to go straight to the bigger clubs, they have fine tuned a side not had to build one.
The exeption to this seems to be Pochettino at Southhamton.
Even Jose has said there is nothing wrong with British coaches. I would love to see more British managers in the Prem and I believe that Shawn Dyche is a great manager and would love him at Everton but it will not happen for me a far better choice than De boer or Mourinho.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - some fair points there milomj..

18 May 2016 12:38:37
Its not just the manager Milom its the backroom staff and the name that they carry, top players would be more likely to sign if they were playing for DeBoer than Dyche mate.

Agree2 Disagree1

18 May 2016 13:04:15
I don't want to sound negative bit we all no to every one good foreign managers there have been loads that couldn't handle the premiership, I would rather see someone who's go a good record already over here and can attract top player, not someone who's not done a bad job in other leagues, we have lots of managers on a small budget here and there team punch well above there weight, but we wouldn't consider them, so why a foreign manager, look at the Watford manager he's done a fantastic job, would you be happy if he was our next manager, if we are to go to the next level, the manager has to be top class, that's my point, but as all Everton suppoerters I will wait with excitement on our next journey.

Agree1 Disagree0

18 May 2016 08:05:15
Is there anyway a new Everton could hold Athletics like the mayor want, without having a track around the pitch? Athletics stadiums lack atmosphere. You wouldn't even be able to hear the infamous boos.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - i would not think so brad..

18 May 2016 08:36:46
They have retractable seating these days so you can have a track whilst keeping seats close to the pitch for football games.

Agree1 Disagree0

18 May 2016 09:18:37
Is that what West Ham are having Sven.

Agree2 Disagree0

18 May 2016 09:49:58
Ye there is. Olympic stadium I worked on has retractable seats they cover track and then move away when athletics is on. Stipulation of fa and roof must cover fans that's why we did the work last year.
