Use our rumours form to send us everton transfer rumours.

Not sure why after last night's game, in which we played very well and pretty much dominated a team that finished 5th last yr and will no doubt be one of our main rivals this yr, people still feel the need to criticize Ossie or Phil... Not saying I think they are World Class champions league players but if they were that bad how come we still dominated the game and played really well?

Look we are who we are and we have the players that we have. Why do we always have to moan about someone? We have a small squad of players, some better than others but all are capable of doing a job for us and are equally vital members of the team! And I would say that in particular about the 2 players mentioned....

So stop always being critical and get behind the boys! We are playing some lovely football and the team looks confident... Let's just enjoy it for now then (in Jan) or next summer when there is a transfer window we can be critical and say who u want rid of etc....

Also incredible tribute by all connected with the club and the fans at the game, well done!!

Believable3 Unbelievable4

Not going to be much of a discussion board if nobody can express a critical opinion until january.

Agree0 Disagree0

I find myself sticking up for Ossie time and again but he was woeful against the mags. He and Nev were probably the worst performing players of the night and should be rightly criticised. BlueTone {Ed 025's Note - they are both very good squad players tone...but compared with the rest of the team, they do not command a regular starting place..we miss gibbo,s tenacity and composure in the middle at the moment, and i think johnny may be a better option, or even oviedo when he is available..

We played well last night going forward and we really should have been out of sight by half-time. A few posts having a go at Howard, Neville and Osman but for me Jags and Distin were tore a new one by Demba Ba. We were hit on the break and undone by long balls and Newcastle had a number of good chances.

Great tribute to the 96 victims of the Hillsborough disaster and I didn't hear the RS 'anthem'. Well done Everton, I think Bill reads this site!

I know I'm not the most popular on here, however when I first came on here it really wasn't my intention to cause offence to anyone and if I did, I apologise. Anyway, Everton were sensational yesterday, as they have been throughout the 23 years, and I expected no less, just like at Wembley and the minutes silence. Thanks everyone, and don't worry, I'm not going to start arguing again, and I apologise again, looking back whilst it wasn't my intentions I can see why it wound some of you up.
Thanks for ensuring we didn't walk alone in the fight
for justice. YNWA. You were incredibly unlucky not to
win yesterday by the way, and you really have added some quality to your squad, Oviedo was a bargain.

I know it's almost 24 hours overdue, but I'm an LFC fan here thanking all Everton fans for the fantastic gesture shown yesterday at the game against Newcastle, it truly bought a tear to my eye and I'm so proud of the friendly rivalry we have going on!

I'm also here to say thanks for all the comments I have seen from the Everton fans over the past week or 2 supporting us in our battle for justice, I know it's the decent thing to do and everything, but you would be surprised at the amount of offensive comments I have seen over the past couple of weeks regarding the victims of Hillsborough. However, I am happy to report that none of these comments have come from any of your fans, and for this I truly thank you!

I actually found myself supporting and actually cheering for Everton yesterday for the first time in as long as I can remember, and I was absolutely devestated with the result as well, as I can imagine you was as well. I was absolutely gutted that a couple of terrible refereeing decisions cost you a guaranteed 3 points, and this is further evidence that goal line technology needs to be in the game sooner rather than later.

Lastly, I've been seeing some posts recently about the possibilty of a ground share between the two clubs. Now, I'm not some kind of financial advisor or anything of the sort, so I don't know if this will benefit either of us massively in the financial department or not, but I do know that on paper it sounds fantastic!

It would be great to possibly share a stadium with you guys, and reading down the page earlier, seeing Ed025's comment about calling it 'The Justice Stadium' cemented it for me! It does sound amazing and hopefully it will be looked in to

So on the whole, I thank you with all my heart for everything you have done over the past couple of weeks for us, it truly has been so heartwarming to see all your kind and thoughtful messages recently! I wish you all the best and hope you have a successful campaign! (Mind you, I'm still hoping on October 28th the red half of Merseyside come out on top! ;))

Haha, until then lads! Thanks again!

Pete {Ed025's Note - your welcome pete..

Believable4 Unbelievable1

Great post Pete, if anything happened as tragic as Hillsborough happened within Everton we know you would have our back as we have yours, it has been great to see both teams come together and fight for justice and also grieve with one an other... I think the fans who have been sending abusive messages should be ashamed, I know alot of them were united fans, typical them, we don't mention Munich, so why do they think they have the right to chant about Hillsborough? Sick minded people.................

Some points about the game, is it time to go even furthe than goal line technology like have the option of say 3 reviews like some other sports the refereing has been sh*te up to now, teams are starting to concentrate their defence down their right to counter evertons streangth down the left and in the second half felaini had 3 men around him every time he got the ball the best way to counter this is attack more down the right coleman could be worth a try and finally its about time everyone got behind big vic he came off the bench and scored 2 good goals what more can you ask. thgfest

three mistakes in three league game by howard against Villa west brom (missed the ball from the corner) and now against newcastle, and i'm not saying sell him or drop him it's just he has cost us 5 points already

paddock toffee

Believable6 Unbelievable0

Everyone makes mistakes. He might have made more than a few over the years but he does far more right than wrong.

No one's perfect, even Casillas, Valdes, Neuer, etc make mistakes. He'll work on it in training and return better than ever against Swansea, believe me.

Keith EFC.

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont think you can blame Howard for the two goals, nor can you blame the two centrebacks the damage was done by the two in front of them.

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree!...I think Brian clough once said" A good keeper will get you 10 points a season, but unfortunately, tim has cost us points already!

Agree0 Disagree0

A midfield that includes Neville and Osman is bound to be found wanting. With Fellaini not at his best, Distan caught out of position in marking Ba, despite a quick long ball expertly laid off by Ameobi for the second goal, Tim Howard should feel he should have made better attempts to prevent both goals.
Let's hope Oviedo impresses in training this week to bolster the midfield.
Nontheless we were unlucky with officiating decisions and deserved to win.
Fancy Smith

Agree0 Disagree0

Howard also made a great save when ba or cisse went through.

Agree0 Disagree0

Come on guys, Tim is a great servant to the club. There won't be many keepers making fewer mistakes than him this season. And are you forgetting how many penalties he has saved for us?

Let's not get on players backs when we are having a very uncharacteristic start to the season.

Just wanted to talk about last night's match. Yes, we most definitely were robbed and everyone knows that. But look at it this way: we drew when we should have won, and we're disappointed. But more interestingly, we played beautiful football and I mean beautiful football for the most part of that game, we out-classed Newcastle (who are "in a different league" to us according to Pardew, I can only assume he means the league where Championship sides get lucky) and we're disappointed even though we didn't win. I think there's definitely a bright side, the fighting, nothing but the best is good attitude is in our team and our fans and that is brilliant. Teams home and away are sitting back when we play them, and the only other teams who get that treatment are top 4 regulars. And, we give that kind of respect to no one. I'm very optimistic, Swansea have got the toughest game so far on their hands this weekend.

Is it just me or is the managers touchline ban a joke, pardew picked the team, was in constant touch with the bench, went in at half time, changed things around, if a player is banned they can't contribute, so why should a manager be able to, to me what's the point of this punishment.
Ste c

Believable4 Unbelievable2

I totally agree Ste. The only thing he can't do is shout instructions to a player in a split-second decision when said player is doing wrong.

just wondering here... as a newcastle fan I am obviously sighing relief from the match last night due to your 2 legit goals which were ruled out in a game you really should have won, and have came on here and believe someone mentioned 'Karma.' But before both of the disallowed goals didn't anichebe kick harper, and while the referee was reaching for the red card Harper went and said something to the effect of "he was going for the ball and didn't mean to kick me" preventing you from getting a red card? so surely this karma did come around. so if you think about it your really lucky not to have 2 strikers ruled out of your next match

Believable1 Unbelievable3

By my calculations that means karma still owe us one! But that said fair play to Harper, that was sportsmanship and pure class on his part.

WtG.

Agree0 Disagree0

No mate, no referee will ever have his mind changed, harper just did that anyway being an honest guy. anyone could tell he went for the ball, you could've twisted it and said harper was going for anichebe but that would be b.s. like anichebe was going for harper, he wouldn't be, the ball was more important to both, hence the decision just to book and say "be careful because you could end up hurting someone" etc. all good.

Agree0 Disagree0

That was very admirable of Harper, fair play, however Id have taken just Fellainis goal and Anichebe sent off over the two disallowed goals anyday.

Agree0 Disagree0

How do you know all this are you psychic.

Agree0 Disagree0

Please get off the site, Anichebe's knock to Harper was never warranting a Red card. There was no Karma, ever seen United get the bad end of Karma? Not really, gaurantee had United or City etc. scored that goal they would have gotten it.

Steve EFC

Agree0 Disagree0

The ref wasnt reaching for a red card and two disallowed goals doesnt make a yellow card even.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wasnt a red card foul any way

Agree0 Disagree0

Anichebe hardly touched him, you could see, hence your gk getting up to say so. Harper saved him a booking, which was nice of him. As for karma, there is no karma. You deserved to get beat and thanks to a bent official, you didn't. End of.

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha shut up he was just having a word with him it was good of Harper to come over and explain to the ref but there was no way he was going to get sent off and also what about Fellaini's goal? There was no karma there now go back to your own site and be happy that your little club managed one good season theres a good lad.

Agree0 Disagree0

2 legit goals ruled out and now we should all pay homage to Harper for not letting the '' ref '' do us more injustice by reducing us to ten ...is this how the geordies collected points last season then?

If so Pardew was correct you were in a different league to us....

Agree0 Disagree0

We are in a different league its called the europa league.

Merseyside utd the envy of other cities how we can have a friendly rivalry and stand together totally agree. We have shown it before and will show it again.
Why can't we 2 great clubs ground share then ?

Robbie {Ed025's Note - i dont see why we cant robbie..

Believable7 Unbelievable1

Until the reaction to the recent findings re the JFT96 showed to everyone else in the world the depth of Merseyside solidarity that has been there for the past 23 years, I wouldn't have thought a groundshare was possible, but perhaps now it might happen. But it must be approached in an extremely sensitive manner by the concerned parties, just like the tribute was at Monday night's game. Two teams, one city. Two great supports, one common bond of respect, decency and humanity.
Cowpat Sid {Ed025's Note - it would be nice if we called it the justice stadium..

Agree0 Disagree0

Personally I have always been against a ground share, but the events of last week and of course last night kind of puts things in perspective. Yes we have our banter and rivalry, but it is totally different from anywhere else in the Country, if any two teams in the UK could make a ground share work it is Everton and Liverpool.

Perhaps a shared stadium is the only way both clubs stand a chance of being able to compete against the top four on a regular basis. Plus a shared ground means a shared memorial for the 96, a lasting monument not only to those who were lost but also to the solidarity of scousers in the face of adversity.

The derby increasingly in the last twenty years has got nastier and nastier, wembley last season was a break in that trend. Hi Eds, I'm going to spend this morning writing to the Premier League demanding that this sorry excuse for a team of officials is removed from Premier League matches for the foreseeable. I appreciate that to all of the invading RS mob, this will be seen as sour grapes, I feel so strongly that a massive injustice was done last night due to the hopeless inadequacies of an out of shape linesman and his clueless referee, that I feel I have to speak out. It honestly feels like a defeat, the manner in which only a point was earned. Absolutely gutted. On last nights match firstly the tribute was fantastic one of the many reasons i love being a toffee. On the match it self yes we were robbed but lets be honest and leave that aside for the moment my biggest concern last night we failed to deal with Newcastle long ball game and thats all they did was hoof it forward. The lads at centre half Jags and Distan struggled with it on a lot of occasions last night i hope its a one off if fact i know its a one off but in my view it was not dealing with it that caused us our problems last night because Newcastle never out played us in any way just hoofed the ball long any chance they got well at least were going to play against a football team on sat in the name off Swansea but i think we will win it 3. 1 let the football teams play i hate teams that play that long ball crap .Stef the blue

Believable3 Unbelievable1

I am a Geordie living on the Wirrall and I accept that you should have been given the two decisions in the second half but please give us a bit of credit. Pardew changed it after the break and it worked. Everton had very little joy in the second half down the left hand side and Newcastle played well and did outplay you in most of the second half, just look at the stats that will prove this. So please, credit where it is due.

Agree0 Disagree0

Do you not think that Alan Pardew changed his tactics in the second half and told players to hoof it up to the big men up front cos our centre halfs could not cope with it? Good tactics if you ask me. Show a bit respect for the Geordies. {Ed001's Note - our centre halfs? Your previous post you are a Georgie living on the Wirral supporting Newcastle, now you are claiming to be an Everton fan! Which is it?}

Well done the Toon too good atmosphere before and after mixing with them. Pity the police in the northeast dont allow it.

Agree0 Disagree0

To the Newcastle fan i was not disrespecting ur club in anyway just the way you played last night i dont like teams that play long ball its called football for a reason and u did not play us of the park in the second half most of ur play came from our mistakes and your long ball tactics but i wish you luck for the rest of the season sorry if i offended you but that was my view on the game last night good luck next week.Stef the blue

Agree0 Disagree0

If Newcastle played Everton off the park 2nd half then how did Everton score 3 goals

Agree0 Disagree0

To the Newcastle fan, you deserve no credit. We scored 4, you scored 2. End. Your team put up a fight in the second half, but we won that half 3-2. Your manager has no class about him and you will not find many people crediting you on here. I don't care how well you think you played, we were robbed last night. Let's see you credit a team who turns up to St James and takes points off you despite you scoring 2 more goals than them.

Watched the game last night and I think praise should be given to Newcastles keeper Harper. When he and Anichebe went for the 50-50 ball Anichebe caught him and many a keeper would have stayed down and rolled all over, but Harper got up and ran to the ref to tell him that Anichebe went for the ball. Good on you. {Ed025's Note - that was a nice touch by harper, makes a change from prima donnas rolling around as if they have been shot!, that got forgotten in the aftermath of the very poor officialdom ...thanks for pointing it out mate..

First well done Everton all class. That is why we are the Peoples Club. Secondly what is going on. Heitinga our player of the season cant even get a gig, yet Phil Neville and Leon Osman are getting starts week in week out. Johnny can play midfield. If we want to progress as a club these boys need to sit on the pine as subs and start playing Heitinga because a player like Heitinga will go if we are not careful and he is all heart and class. Cmon Moyes start playing Heitinga.

Aussie Toffee.

Ps Refs tonight were Under 9 standard and that is even an insult to Under 9 refs. {Ed025's Note - i agree with all that aussie..

Believable4 Unbelievable0

Last night we had a few players that didnt perform, phil neville was awfull in midfield and i think tim howard should of done better with both goals but what an absolute joke that ref was, i usually never moan about refs but after last night i feel we as a club were let down by an absolute clown, not only by the goals not giving but by the way he refed the game, every challenge we did we would get a yellow card were he was letting Newcastle kick lumps out of are players and doing nothing. Terry blue {Ed025's Note - the ref was very poor terry...but it also showed how lightweight our squad is, 2 or 3 injuries to key players, and europe will be a mile off...

Agree0 Disagree0

Newcastle targetted Neville everytime he got the ball they pressed him knowing he would panic and he did. Moyes should have done something about it.
All the talk will be about the linesman but i thought the ref let them kick Jelavic out the game that could prove more costly than 2 disallowed goals.

Well done Everton on the tribute last night. Bad decisions by officials but my main concern was the crowd 32,500 - almost 7,000 down the same fixture last season. Why is this after the great start to the season? {Ed025's Note - there are a few factors, the recession, the fact that it was a night game, which affects people who have to travel long distances, and people who have to work shifts...it costs a lot of poke to follow your team all season, and i think most teams will be affected this season..

On reflection after sleeping on last nights match the 2 dissallowed goals means we were robbed of 2 points and our 1st half performance was excellent and neville and osman performance not affected. But 2nd half I thought at times newcastle had more fight and their strikers bullied our defence and we have to give credit to them for that because its not many times teams out battle us. I also beleive if Gibson was playing he would have steadied the midfield I think we can get away with playing one of neville and osman but not both together they gave the ball away to much and when the tough got going they didnt I not slating them because they are true blues and give their all but they are both good squad players and lack quality (and tonights performance is proof that ossie isnt good enough for a England call up even though england midfield is poor at present) as a duo. The other point is if Anichebe hadnt scored a very good goal I got to say I think alot of people would be having a go at him he is one of the most frustrating players if he can score goals like that he has all the attributes but I feel a bit what pardew said about Ba maybe some players play better when they angry and maybe big vic needs to get more nasty and start bullying defenders and more work rate I liked it when Mirrales clinched his fist to say come on to anichebe it shows that he thought he needed to show more passion and also that mirrales is getting the blue spirit. I hope jelavic is a minor knock because 2nd half it was clear the ball didnt stick when played to the strikers and how much he occupies the defence maybe we gave anichebe the wrong service as well he is a different type of player and maybe we should play to his feet more and he can hold it up using his upper body because he no good in the air, big vic is on the line of making it or breaking it this season.

Robbie {Ed025's Note - i enjoyed that robbie...well done mate..

Believable6 Unbelievable0

Spot on there Robbie. I was at the match and then went home and re-watched it on sky plus when i got home. The Anichebe header just highlights why we need goal line technology, awful decision from the lino. The Felli goal for offside was a slightly trickier one and just one of those ones. I am sure we will get a goal given that was offside in the coming weeks and it will even itself up. But very frustrating all the same. Vic did naff all until he scored, but what a great strikers goal it was. He has the ability in there somewhere just needs to show it on a more regular basis. I really hope that we don't continue to play Phil Nev in centre midfield until Gibbo is back, his control and passing isn't up to scratch for that position. Would rather drop Felli back in there. Baines and Pienaar were awesome last night, as Gary Neville said in the a website Studio they are the best left back/winger combo in the league. Roll on Saturday

It does my head in how last seasons player of the year is now sat on the bench match after match. Johnny is the obvious replacement for Gibbo whilst hes out yet Moyes will pick Neville time after time. Osman is better off playing further up field. I get the feeling Moyes and Johnny dont get on and so we may aswell get what wwe can for him in January. Hes wasted on our bench!

Shocking refereeing anyway tonight, we were robbed!

I disagree Johnny is definitely not the obvious replacement for Gibson, he doesn't perform well in front of the back two, he SHOULD be one of the back two.. His performances never went unnoticed last season so I think it was a risky decision for him to be pushed out of the starting 11 in the first place, sh*t happens though and everybody has to move on. I think it's time to slot him back in now as a replacement for Distin as we've seen a few costly blips from Distin (much out of character though if I may say so).

Most blues will say Jagielka and Distin's partnership is too good to separate which I agree with mostly, but on the back of last season Heitinga has been my personal first choice CB and should never have been dropped.

Fellaini plays outstanding up top but I think we should drop him back to his CM position while we ride out the storm of the injured Gibson, Mirallas proved yesterday he is able to fill the void of anybody he wants, so deploying Felli back and moving Mirallas behind the striker I think is a very positive yet sensible move.

Moyes said last week that he might look at bringing in a midfielder on a free hope so after last night whether its a hitzlesperger or a reo coker they couldn't do any worse than neville and osman, but I hope he brings in a goalee as well to give howard some competition, he should have saved the 1st last night and the 1 at villa, I just hope boruc or craig gordon can come in and if it is only to make tim raise his game a bit it would be worth it.

How much did Newcastle's record breaking signing Mike Jones cost them? Seems like he's a match winner...

Jay EFC {Ed025's Note - he was very poor jay..

Did they pay Howard as well poor again

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree with the Howard point, tried posting about him last night wasn't posted for some reason, he's quickly becoming a liability in my humble opinion and should have done better with both goals.

Agree0 Disagree0

Are we all forgetting the world class save he made against Hatem Ben Arfa? I agree he has slightly under performed recently and it's out of character for him, but to say he is a liability is so far fetched it makes me laugh. At the end of the day everybody makes mistakes.

As I stated just my opinion jack and you can laugh as much as you like, yea he did make a good save from ben arfa but the 2 goals he conceded were poor, but I will continue to voice my opinion as I see fit and on last night's performance he was a liabilty in my opinion

Hi all, don't know if it is only me but I am very excited by K.Mirallas performance tonight, A part of his game that I did not expect to see was his work rate he ran him self into the ground He showed signs of true quality tonight, when he gets up to speed and the pace of the premier league he can become a superb player for the blues. Even after the injustice of tonights result, I still think it will be between us and Arsenal for 4 spot. Hope Jelavic is not out for long after tonights knocks. COYB.

Hi all, You blues made me feel proud tonight, What a great tribute for the unforgivable injustices for the deaths of 96 Liverpool fans. I am a blue, but could not be there tonight, but watched on t.v. with tears in my eyes, As I watched I just hoped there was not going to be a small minority of morans making up chants or songs to disgrace our club, but from what I heard on t.v. it was an immaculate reception from the blues. I know a lot of blues have a hatred for the RS as I also do, but for this situation it is only right that the city comes together as one. I dont have a connection with any of the innocent victims of that tragic day in April 1989,but my heart goes out to all the families and friends of all who died on that tragic day 23 years ago. So to all the blues there tonight you are a credit to the club and the city. To all the Liverpool fanS from this blue YNWA .

Can you imagine what happened tonight happening to Man Utd at home? And then after the game, when the away side have scraped a draw, the pundits lead with, ' a great football match, let's not talk about the decisions right now'. I'm fed up with how we are treated, time after time we have matches where we get totally robbed. Tonight we are talking about 2 clear goals, not harsh fouls, corner holding etc. etc. 2 genuine goals that has cost us 2 points against a team who will be in and around us. One thing is for sure, Newcastle had v little. I don't care who they had missing, we had gibbo missing, who we know is vital to our team. They had nothing. As for Pardew, the sooner he's out a job and back where he belongs in the championship the better. As for the refs, I don't expect to see any of them ref in the premier league again this season. As for next game, I want a defensive head to temporarily role. V poor goals conceded and with Jonny on the bench, one of them must be reminded to keep concentrating all game.

Manager & players are charged with bringing the game into disrepute, this is in responce to a misjudgement, afder tonights game, it is surely right that match officials face the same sanction. This is not the first time everton have been the subject of this ref''s "incompitance" you begin to wonder about his motives. £

I thought Fellis goal was one of the best moves I've seen us do for a long time. Was buzzing watching it, went crazy when it went in only to find... Absolute joke. I guess we don't possess the millions required for 'protection' money to pay the bent governing body
