James McCarthy is seriously considering his future at Everton - and Tottenham and Manchester City could now battle to sign him.

McCarthy is in his second season at Goodison Park, after following Roberto Martinez to Merseyside from Wigan in a £13million move.

His first season went so well that his boss stated his transfer value had already doubled.

But the 24-year-old midfielder has been left angry with club officials over their lack of a new contract offer since then.

He had previously been promised improved terms if he did well after making the switch from Wigan.

Yea he looks and plays like a player who doesn't want to be there doesn't he? Some original thought please.

I can't believe Haines is not taking penalties 15 out 16 is fantastic record and I still think he is no 1 from the spot if he ain't on pitch then Lukaku takes this is basic management that should not be a problem luckly did not cost us like last time but if burnley would of scored to draw match then this issue would of cost us 5 pts in prem so far this season too many pts to chuck away in this league over simple matter, it clearly looks from outside like its the players choosing, nip it in the bud Martinez let Baines then Lukaku and who ever next penalty shoot outs are erelevent

100% agreed. even in sunday league football you know your penalty taker before the team walks on the pitch. And if one has scored 15 from 16, then he is obviously the taker. Unless of course someone else has scored 16 out of 16.

It's often stated that Baines's defensive capabilities are not the best yet his set piece's and penalties, coupled with his assists make him the player he is recognised for, take away the latter and he is not a better left back option than Garbutt!

A quick question if It's ok, my wife and son were outside goodison near the church when, they said, a tall, grey haired man with a slight paunch was outside near the church. Apparently loads of people came across and shook his hand but my son couldn't see properly to recognise him. He was with a younger woman. Did anyone else see him and if so can you say who he is?

What do other fans think of Benteke coming to Everton in the event Lukaku leaves in the Summer. Tim Sherwood obviously putting Benteke in the window but talking price up to 23 m. Overpriced. They are a like for like player.

No their not, benteke is, was, could still be better at holding it up then lukaku but not at running at people and isn't as quick but is better in the air. But benteke is injury prone and not consistent enough.

Good player, knows where the net is and seems to work hard for his team. That said, if he was to leave Villa then I think it will be for a team in the champs league. Swan, bit unfair to label him injury prone. He had a few niggling injuries, most players do at the top level, and suffered a bad one last season that kept him out of the world cup. He's come back from that just as strong I reckon

Benteke would be a good striking partner WITH Lukaku, that would concern a few defences. If they don't ask they won't know if Benteke wants to leave for Champions league, but if Everton signed him plus another CB and GK they would soon be in with the existing squad.

Why does the media have such little regard for our club. Always banging on about who's leaving everton etc. I mean West ham for Mirallas. come on! As for spurs. Every player they have bought over the last few seasons has gone backwards. Dembelle was pure class at Fulham. Compoue was quality and Chadli as well. If you join Man City you become a bench warmer and at best a bit player. If you play for Everton you become a legend and a chance to make history the hard way by earning it.

And get slated week in, week out until your confidence is shot to pieces and become so bad you couldn't get a move away from the club if you tried.

I think Mirallas might be staying at least another season he stated that he is very happy at Everton and also went on to say if we win our remaining games it will help us going into next season hmmm his goal celebration said a lot yesterday also.

He has had some critics this season but I think it's been a bit unfair. Firstly he had his hamstring go.and those are always niggling injuries.and his game is about pace! Then when he got fit, McGeady kept him out of the team with his superb (not) displays. Then he was brought on in the last 8 minutes for a few games after his penalty incident. I believe this all relates to pee poor management. Just look at Barkley this week. To happen once could be blamed on the player. To happen twice must be down to the manager.

So the Mirror are suggesting that McCarthy is the next out of the club as we have not met his expectations. According to the online article it is only due to his form that we have moved away from relegation and now he is looking elsewhere.

That will be why Martinez is so keen on Tom Cleverly. Getting him in on a free to replace McCarthy

See our beloved leader, is set on bringing Tom Cleverly to the club. Is this man stupid, or just plain arrogent. With the exception of MaCarthy, you could not sell the rest of his ex-wigan cronies for dog meat. The man has played around 40 games for villa without a single goal, until sherwood came in the villa fan fancied a public stoning rather than an extended contract. ( will give the lad my apologies if he gets a hat trick sunday )

Another clean sheet. We actually tried some offensive pressure. Okay, usually once pass too many leading to a giveaway, but still better.

Sign Lennon. Keep Super Kev. Let Barkley the Bear roam. Great defense, but guys, just shoot the ball. Barry did well defensively.

Our corners never seem to work. Garbutt seemed to have some velocity.

We can make the top half. the advantage of no Europa is more time to focus on the domestic cups.

RM will be here another a year so let's try to be positive.
