Have to agree with you there ollblue, there looking at our points form and placing, think they should sit and watch the games start to finish then spout there rubbish. If there was more than 5 minute sparks of good football more than once a month, then maybe Sam could feel hard done by. But sadly there wasn't this is a hard job for the next man, we need to support him and accept the downs till we are settled.

There hasn't been one stand out performance and we've only won games we'd be expected to mate. Anyone whose watched would agree. Super Kev Campbell is the only pundit on TV who's said it was the right decision. Just getting annoying now he's gone, wish they'd stop bringing it up.

There was one great performance during Sam's reign. The 3 nil win in the Europa which he sent Shakespeare to manage because of a "doctors appoitment". Utter smeghead.

These clowns again on Football Focus, Ince, Gudjonnson and Dyche talking about sacking Sam how its unfair. Would someone show these ignorant idiots the stats of shots etc under him and see their argument then. Doing my head in big time now.

didn't you know we were 30 points adrift when Sam came in and saved us.

Managers club always stick together. I don’t know an Everton fan that wanted him to stay. Time to look forward. Whether it’s Silva, Emery or someone else, it can’t be worse than the anti football we had to endure this season. We’ll need at least 3-4 new faces to move things forward on the pitch too mind.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 May 2018 22:13:50
Dyche is no different to Sam. The same type of football. Burnley only won 7 home games scoring 16 goals in 19 games and minus 1 difference. The two of them wouldn't know attacking football if it smacked them on their face.

As for the other Muppet Ince. WTF does he know about management? He hardly has a glowing CV.

What's everyone's opinion on the Rooney situation. I think it was the great for the club as a brand with him coming home and it must of been great for players especially the young lads playing with him. But on the pitch, I don't think he should be in our plans next season and I'd love for him to go to the US and come back in a coaching role once he's done. I feel because of his presence, there will be always be pressure on the manager to pick up whereas we could finally see Gylfi in his position or Davy to get an actual chance. IMO, he should go America but I'm still thankful for his effort last season.

Should be kept on he’s not the problem it’s about finding a way where rooney can dictate play, sam bypassed him but don’t tell me a 31 year old class player is finished just because the legs are gone, this is where we find out about managers and how good they are.

These changes are great but I can't help but feel a little bit sorry for walsh.
A- he is a scout not a DOF and should never have been given that rule, he should of been head of recruitment and reporting to a DOF, and the jury is still out on a lot of our signings especially the ones that have not played
Klassen
Vaslic
Lookman
Sandro
Now I don't know what the future holds for any of these but if they come good you could argue he did his job, getting them to perform is not his job.

Klaassens agent said that he won't move this summer as he wants to be a success at Everton. At least he going to give his best and if that's not good enough then so be it. Lookman and Vlasic need constant games, not play one week then out of squad for 6 matches. God knows what Sandro wants to do. Maybe if he is willing to stay, we could give him another chance to see if he adapts to our league.

The thing is these were players that before signing for Everton were doing amazing things at their clubs especially in Klassen and Sandro, I think the new manager needs to sit down and see what happens I still think they could donate job for us, definitely want to see Lookman back big decisions to make for whoever takes over but exciting times ahead.

Thing with sandro is even on loan at sevilla this season hasn't done anything and missed hatful of chances. He is probably a confidence player and if we can build that up then he may score loads of goals.

19 May 2018 13:46:55
They were doing OK prior to joining us - not amazing. To arrive and make an instant impact you need to be top drawer. We’ve shown that we’re not willing bed players in.

19 May 2018 20:10:39
Truebluemetz feel sorry for Mr Walsh why? I feel sorry for anyone that loses their job and in football particular. I am not certain but in order to get Walsh the Scout we had to adhere to his demands (through his agent) and the main one was he wished to be DoF. As such he was way above his pay grade, so no sympathy here.

Do you believe that under Brands (and Silva or whoever) that we'll be bringing more players through from the U23s (especially if we recruit more young talent from all around the globe into the U23 setup in order to develop them) AND that the recruitment of more experienced/ established players will be to add the "stardust quality" to the team - or fill an immediate need in a specific position - and we won't just pad out the squad with older players who would merely be bench-warmers?

Believable2 Unbelievable0

19 May 2018 14:10:07
I think we will have a plan and recruitment will be two pronged looking firstly for players to make an immediate impact to the current squad but then also identifying and bringing in youth both who will be on the verges of the first team and to develop in the u23’s.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 May 2018 09:36:28
Pickford is clearly our first-choice goalkeeper - hopefully for years to come.
Robles is likely to return to Spain.
Stekelenburg is an experienced backup, but is he good enough?
None of the goalkeepers in the U23s and U18s look ready for the first-team, although they are still developing as players.
So, do we need to recruit one or two goalkeepers as first-team backup for Pickford? If so, what should we be looking for (experience or potential) and, if we do recruit, who (realistically) should we be targeting (especially bearing in mind that they'll be mainly sitting on the bench) ?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

19 May 2018 13:09:08
Difficult one that Bobby I think whoever we target must know they will be a number 2 and sat on the bench, so in that we need someone with experience to maybe help nurture Pickford and help with his progression who that is though I can't think of any names.

Begovic for me. In his twilight years but still a top draw keeper. Whether he’d come and be a number two is another matter.

19 May 2018 18:43:22
Hewlett is a good keeper and one i would play in league cup this season see how he handles it, failing that i wouldn't mind darren randolf from boro he would be more than capable if jordan was out for a couple weeks. maybe Carson from west brom would be happy to be no2 in the prwm over number 1 in the championship? i dnt no just some ideas.

Would you risk having the returning young loanee Antonee Robinson covering for (and eventually replacing) Leighton Baines next season?
Or, do we already have cover: certainly not Martina (! ) , but maybe Galloway (another returning loanee) ?
Perhaps we need to recruit another left-back? If so, who (realistically! ) should we be targeting?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

19 May 2018 13:13:39
I like Robinson and have heard good things from friends who have watched him play I think he would be good cover for Haines and hopefully learn from him aswell. Galloway I can't see us keeping him think he will be sent out on loan or sold.
If we were to look at left backs the lad at Bristol, Tierney from Celtic or even this Fabra (spelling) we've been linked with looks adequate.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 May 2018 13:18:49
Although I’ve heard good things on Robinson a new left back must be one of our priorities. Bainesy can still do a job but his age is starting to show, maybe next season will be the time to edge him out the starting 11 and give him a coaching role. My preference for left back would be either Grimaldo or Phillip Max.

Agree1 Disagree0

19 May 2018 14:26:25
Heard Philip Max mentioned recently and he would be a very good signing I bet Brands is already planning.

Is there still a deal to be had for the L/ B from Boco Juniors, or has he gone eleswhere, sounded a very good option, or was this another Walsh pipe dream?

Agree0 Disagree0

19 May 2018 18:05:29
Tierney is a fantastic player but imagine if we could get him he’d want to be first choice straight away. To be fair he’s good enough to be.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 May 2018 18:46:11
one hundred million percent i would trust Robinson the boy is one of the best lb in the country at his age, already been called up to full national team in usa and played regular football all season last year and before that was a mainstay in the u23 team that won the leauge. trust me the boy can play.

19 May 2018 09:17:33
We have several centre-backs on the books: Jagielka, Williams A., Funes Mori, Keane, Holgate and Pennington.
Others - like Browning, Connolly and Galloway - are full-backs who could play centre-back.
Then there are promising youngsters (Feeney, Gibson, etc. ) in the U23s and U18s.
Of all these players, which would you say have to leave AND how many new centre-backs would you say need to be brought in?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

19 May 2018 09:27:58
I would get rid of williams and mori, loan out the younger ones, Browning to me isn't going to make it, or callaway, jags I think we should keep as he has been a great servant and can really help the younger ones, I'd even give him a coaching roll to keep him at our club, he's the type of player the younger ones look up to, great to have around the club.

19 May 2018 09:55:14
Simontoffeeman69: good call - who would you bring in?

Agree0 Disagree0

19 May 2018 10:11:09
Sorry Jags has been a good defiant to the club, but filling the coaching staff with ex players who have one nothing does not work. We need new blood in with new ideas, and a winning mentality.
Who would I get rid of. Jags, Mori, Williams, Pennington, and Galloway. Need one centre back and a left back, two attacking midfielders. Oh and bring back Lookman.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 May 2018 10:35:41
Woburnblue: I don’t have a problem with ex-Evertonians coaching the U23s, U18s, U16s, etc., as the youngsters should hopefully know, admire, trust and respect those coaches, BUT the coaches must be good at their jobs (primarily measured by how many of their players develop and progress to the next level up - although winning trophies would be a nice bonus and breed a winning mentality) AND the coaches MUST all work to the “identity” being fashioned by DoF Marcel Brands.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 May 2018 11:26:28
I know you could argue he needs more time, but I'd be tempted to get rid of Keane. Get two harder, more physical CBs in. Maybe give him another season but he seems weak mentally and physically.

Agree3 Disagree0

19 May 2018 14:44:19
Could not agree more, looks like a boy amonst men, had we not had so many problem eleswhere, this would have got more attention, we are cutting our losses eleswhere, and we sould just try to recover as much of the purchase price as we can.
