Now then.

Just one question, why do footballers lose form?
Is it just an issue with confidence?

Pienaar and Jelly in recent games have been poor but Coleman has not lost form he's just rubbish.

Has pienaar been playin the last 7 games? Thought he ws injured! Haven't seen him

Agree0 Disagree0

He hasn't looked the same player since he lost the braids, in every sense

Agree0 Disagree0

In recent games Pienaar has played a lot more inside than previously when he operated wide.
This makes it difficult for Baines to link up down the left and create the dangerous crosses which created no end of chances early season.
Whether this roving role for Steven is tactical change by the coaching or not, it results in the attack losing width and significantly reduces the attacking options down the left.

I would've thought it was tactical as teams were getting wise to our threat down the left and I think it's safe to assume that it isn't as effective as it once was. Progress was being made with the same down the right until Mirallas picked up the knock, although Coleman isn't in the same league as Baines offensively or defensively. I believe Moyes was trying to replicate what we had down the left on the right so as to make us less predictable, but it seems to have back-fired massively, partly because Mirallas got injured and partly because Coleman is a complete and utter clown.

OH no Pienaars footballing powers were in his hair. {Ed025's Note - a bit like samson then..

Hello lads. Been a long time. Ok, so we're not getting the results we should be expecting for a top four finish. Frustrating as hell I agree. I think after the weekend Moyes will now take no prisoners. He looked as angry as I've ever seen him and I can see him giving the players a right kick up the backside now. It is crazy this season. Anyone can beat anyone but that's football.

Injuries pending, I would love to see Gibson and the hammer in the middle. Hitzlesberger was supposed to be a bit of a nothing signing but I've got a feeling this lad could become a belter for us.

As we all know, for a top four finish we need to start taking our chances! Too many side footed, placed efforts that are simply too easy for the defence and the keeper. Get yer laces through it and smash a hole in the back of the net!!

You all need to calm down lads! Saturday's defeat will not be the first time this season we will put a poor shift in and be annoyed at certain players performances!
It's football, it happens, you don't play champagne football every week, and if anyone thinks it's possible there dreaming!
We were poor 2nd half and to be honest 9 out of the starting 11 were on International duty on the wednesday and you could tell in the 2nd half they were feeling effects.
On to the next game, after a defeat like that, Moyes will have the lads fired up and we will win against Norwich I'm confident of that! Then we have tough games against City, Spurs and Arsenal but with Gibson and Hibbert back for them games and Mirallas looking like he could be back also we will be in great shape and also with these big games were always fired up. I'm looking forward to the next 4 fixtures!!

I have said all along that coleman is not a defender i dont rate the lad. he couldn't cut it at blackpool. but for some reason moyes cant see it. yes we have had a solid start but we keep dropping points against the lower sides as usual.

Believable3 Unbelievable2

He couldn't cut it at Blackpool? Did you see any of him during his loan, was a big reason for there playoff final run, Holloway rated him very highly

Agree0 Disagree0

He makes mistakes, but he's only going to stop doing that with experience, he's never going to be great defensively but he makes our right hand side 10x better attacking wise on his day

Agree0 Disagree0

Why not have 3 centre backs and use Coleman and Baines as wing backs

Agree0 Disagree0

Play Distan left back and Baines right back for a game or 2.

Agree0 Disagree0

That would never work. And what about Hibbo? Has he disappeared off the face of the earth?

Keep Bainesy at LB, with his partnership with Peanuts, Distin at CB and Coleman or Hibbo at RB.

You can't have it both ways. Either Coleman or Hibbo at RB. Hibbert is better defensively and not so good going forward, whilst Coleman is the opposite: better going forward but not as good defensively.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hibbert is an excellent crosser of the ball - he doesn't need to beat his man - miles better than Coleman who will rarely play again once hibbo n gibbo back

everyone moaning about Colemans defending how about are shooting its terrible, also play Distan instead of Heitinga, if your going to play 2 attacking fullbacks at least make sure the center halves have a bit of pace and are fairly strong.Reading and Fulham should of been out of sight by the time we conceded the equalisers PADDOCKBLUE

Believable5 Unbelievable0

The primary role of a full back whether the are an attacking one or not is to defend. Coleman can't defend!

Alastair

Agree0 Disagree0

Distin am afraid is like Coleman can't defend against movement n has got a mistake in him since hetinga back in the side we've been more solid just individual mistakes r costing us ie Howard n coleman at fulham Ossie against Sunderland n Coleman sat . R biggest misses r hibbert n Gibson .distin was awful at WBA n Liverpool

Agree0 Disagree0

I thought we lacked Mirallas' direct style and the cutting edge he brings on the right. Also he tracks back and helps out when needed. Naismith doesn't seem to be of premiership quality yet and fades badly after 60mins or so, that's why they had lots of joy down our right. There's quite a few not at their best at the moment, Pienaar, Heitinga, Jelavic, and Fellaini, Baines and Jags to a lesser extent. But Coleman has to go now before it's too late. He's garbage and the sooner Moyes sees it the better

Agree0 Disagree0

Pieenar has been useless since the dreadlocks came off

I think i have just about managed to get my blood pressure down to an acceptable level after Saturday's result. I am the same as most football fans, when we lose i always try and point the finger and blame somebody for the result, whether it be the ref, the lino, manager or a certain player.

Two major factors cost us the 3 points on saturday. Firstly our inability to take our chances. This has been the same in the majority of our games this season. I can't recall the last time we as a team created so many chances in a season. Which is fantastic, but we aren't putting enough way. Jelavic isn't playing particular well, but I am sure he will come good again.

The second major concern is the goals we are giving away. The two goals at the weekend were surprise surprise down to Coleman. I am not sure why when the free kick came in for the first goal, he half ducked down and was looking the other way. The penalty was again naive defending. I feel for the bloke in a way because he clearly isn't a defender of premiership quality. The manager picks him and he is hardly going to turn around and go sorry i am toilet I don't want to play.

I would play either Johnny or Jags at right back and bring Distin in the middle for the Norwich game until Hibbo is back. I cant watch Coleman's gormless attempt at defending anymore. Saturday should be tougher than expected as Norwich will be boosted by their result against Manc United. My team for the weekend assuming Gibbo is available.
