I would rather have the 2nd or 3rd top scorer in the team who gives 100% in every game ie Costa.

Result as expected today. We never beat that shower and I have stopped building my hopes up. Rom lad you may have a dream to play at the highest level, but these are the games you need to shine and you never do. You aren't better than Everton just yet!

Hi boys in blue sorry about the score today i'm deighted but i know u won't be. Anyway i genuinely have a soft spot for everton as half my family are blue supporters but i chose the red side as my team many yeara ago and my family today gave me a bollocking for this but here goes - what is it with lukaku that has most blues fans wanting him to stay? I just don't see a top player there at all yes he has the skills to be at the top but his attitude is a long way off ever being at the top. The respect he has shown everton has been non existant and his attitude today was shocking i'm not a lovren fan but the way he showed him up to day was embarrassing. He just gave up like he pretty much has on everton. I personally think ul be much better off when he leaves take the money and run. Everton are not there yet but are a team on the rise foe the future his sale will at least bring in some more talent that your brilliant scout will no doubt find like he did with leciester! Anyway good luck against man u do as a favour and give them a good doing please! Peace lfc nirvana.

Get rid of the premier top scorer. Like saying get rid of Courtino for being crap until today since he came back today.

Except Coutinho has a top class attitude, whilst Lukaku has shown he gives up at the first sign of a battle. This was the type of game were Lukaku had the chance to prove he's worth. With the money being touted you're best of taking it and using it to rebuild your side.

We don't need to sell coutinho as he shows up for the big games. lukaku doesn't maybe take the tinted glassess off and maybe then you will see the difference.

Ronald Koeman on twitter the night before a derby, for me is scandalous, and it's not what Everton is about

Yes I'm a red, but I'm also a scouser and for me that's not on. Then he puts 3 or 4 youngsters on in a derby game and expects them to step up to the plate when he is acting like a div on social media? Nah not for me lad, he is the first one that needs to go

Followed by lukaku, those young lads should have been looking to him for inspiration today and he give them
Nothing but embarrassment. pre maddona is not the word

New stadium? Why? The Gladys street will be gone, and a repeat of the Highbury library to the emirates on your hands

I fear for you lot.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - dont worry about us kenny we will be fine, the twitter thing means nothing as far as im concerned and yes rom was very poor, he was not the only one though a lot of our players just never turned up, playing youngsters in a derby is not ideal i grant you but injuries dictate things at times, we will get our stadium and it will be the making of everton, we will be the envy of most teams and our support will be fantastic and vocal thats for sure...be very afraid kenny, there is a new big boy in town and its name is EVERTON and we will be taking over this city mate...mark my words my friend.. :)

02 Apr 2017 09:38:07
ANd we get called bitter! One things for sure kenny my scouse Liverpool friend is our new stadium will not need to have the M62 chocker full of out of towners hanging scarfs out there car windows, but the area will get a new train station and better transport links for home supporters to get the game, from in and around the city! As for worrying about no Gladwys Street, if I was your lot I would be worried about Brexit as some non European citizens may be forced to leave the country and that may affect your attendances from what I have seen from my trips to Anfield.
The city is and always will be ours, we are the local club for the local working class scouser, we stand together through austerity and our club does a lot for the city through EiTC, what do your lot do? We are a family club, you lot are a business.
So don't worry about us, we will be fine and we will grow with our investment and stadium, but we will never forget our roots and our working class background and that is what's sets us apart from the American Franchise that is Liverpool F. C, now you go and count your badges on your scarf, in fact make it easier, count the scousers at Anfield 😂 Your home games have more travelling supporters than a World Cup!

{Ed025's Note - fine reposte gray..now thats telling you kenny.. :)

Best ever message I have ever read on here Blue Gray .
It sums them up exceptionally well.
We are the true bread and butter supporters of Scouse land .
Use to get taken from Priory Road to Goodison with all the other fans who walked Bar a few that came by coach from North Wales
Cannot fit in city center on a Friday night when LFC are at home due to the Scandinavians!

Not bitter just better, I love my club and I'm proud to call myself an Evertonian regardless of results.
I hurt when we lose but that's part and parcel of football it's a game a sport, the off field support our club puts into the city and community as a whole is what makes me even prouder to be an Evertonian and part of a family.
They may sing about European cups and live in the past, they will never be able to achieve the respect we have by what we do as a club and that is a real success that makes people not connected with football able to achieve dreams through funding and help, provided by Everton Football Club not a brand like them.

Fundamentally RK and his coaching staff were as responsible as the players for such an abject performance today.
It was fairly obvious early doors that the team set up was not geared to compete with LFC's s set up approach.
What should have been obvious is that you cannot leave a 25 yard void in midfield allowing players of the calibration of Coutinho and Mane to drop deep and have the time to drive at the defenders inviting disaster.
RK should have seen this danger and should have deployed Barkley 15 yards deeper to offer cover and prevent this issue at source. But no, we persist in playing three up front and put pressure on Gana and Davies to try and cope, the result being they were run ragged and rendered totally ineffective.
Add to that Liverpool were fitter and pressed to the point that Ross and co. always had two or three players in very close attendance when they received the ball, but Liverpool players had all the time in the world.
I suggest if the coaching staff can't see the obvious from their position on the sidelines, they should station someone in the stands with contact to the touch line to offer an alternative view of proceedings.
I, therefore, am more disappointed with the coaching team than the players for both the performance and result today.

There's nothing wrong with the coaching staff. 8wins in 11 previously, we come out a depleted side against a good side who are very good at home. Sounds like your just recycling what sky pundits said with your analysis. Was always going to be a tough game.

This good team at home lost to Swansea and Wolves if they can do it why can't we in 20 years.

02 Apr 2017 16:06:32
Rushpalmer, I appreciate everyone is entitled to their opinion and no I don't need to restate what the Sky pundits have to say, in fact there are very few so called ex pro experts I would even consider listening to.
My opinion was formed within the first 15 minutes of play and was based on how Liverpool set up and their tactics.
If you analyse their style which is a high tempo pressing game with a back four and a midfield of five skilled players, who are comfortable on the ball, and a player slightly more advanced.
This ensures they control midfield possession but critically they attack en masse creating a wave of pressure that two opposition midfield players and a back three will never be able to cope.
That's exactly what happened yesterday and why the coaching team should have rung the changes to negate.
In defence of Barkley, Gana and Davies it's difficult to play if you have two or three players snapping at you as soon as you receive the ball. On the other hand if you allow players of the calibe of Coutinho, Mane, Can, Firmino and Wijnaldum space and time they will hurt you.
RK needed to match the numbers in midfield and require all the players to put in a shift and try and hit them on the break when they became frustrated.
If you consider the one on one confrontations, Baines and Holgate won their individual battle with Clyne and Milner just a pity, through poor tactic, they were the exceptions.

Just put it behind us folks it happens every season. What it highlights is what we already knew. We need a top keeper 2 good young center backs a right back to cover for Seamus and 2 strikers that can be arsed. Shoot me down if you want but I would cash in on Rom went awol again today and Ross was very poor, I think he thinks he is great again because he was called into the England squad again!

Be careful what you wish for one bad game for Ross and Rom doesn't make them bad players. I am hurting as much as you but a I personally believe Liverpool especially at An field have a curse on us. 2 of our best players injured this week with 2 already out. I just know when we play them it's all goes wrong from built up to the end of the game. Koeman tactic today for me was all wrong 3 up front you could see he should of play Ross deeper.

Agree1 Disagree0

02 Apr 2017 11:04:21
Problem is Rom and Ross look good against all teams bar the top 6.
Whatever sport you do we can all beat lower classed players I try and often beat superior players but they have not got it in them.
Be it make up lack of confidence just not as good as we make out I don't know but new blood needed.

I think that's one of the first times I have not enjoyed a Koeman post match interview.

Even when Chelsea hammered us, he responded well and said it wasn't acceptable.

To say he was proud of that performance isn't good enough. Not one player can come out of that game with plaudits. They were all half arsed apart from Williams, who put some good challenges in, but his errors for the goals were poor.

Lukaku offered nothing and was bullied, when he should be having them off in physical battles the size of him.

Barkley completely bottled it and lost the ball nearly every time he got it.

I am not going to dwell on it though, as it happens every time we play them, its just the way it is at the minute.

We are still improving and before today were top of the prem for 2017. West Brom and United drawing is a good result. If we go to Old Trafford an get a result there, we will back on track.

Got a new stadium on the way. Money to spend. And hopefully European football.

Because we have got money now, we can get the players we want now, as they know they won't be the only one coming in, like it has been over the years, blowing all the kitty on 1 player.

You look at the players available to us this year and there are some to be had.

Sig
Rooney
Defoe
Mahrez
Dolberg
Klaasen
Mertens
Keane

These are all improvements on the likes of Lennon, Kone, Valencia etc.

We will kick on and its great times ahead. COYB!

What a load of crap that was. just don't get it, is it psychological why we just can't perform at Anfield? Been playing so well lately but that was shocking. Apart from Gueye who the hell turned up today? That was Ross's worst performance for a while, back to his old head down and run down a blind alley. As for Rom, I love him but where were you today? I know with Coleman, Bolasie and Morgan we would have been a lot better but injuries are a part of football. Ruined the whole weekend. Get Valencia and Lookman on from the start against Man U please, have a go at least.

we've only won once away from home this year and that's not good enough for a club with high aspirations. Our home form seems to be back to its best after the Martinez days are now out of our system. Now onto our away form to fix next.

Hate losing to them so I'm just focusing on the next game which thankfully is Tuesday.

A few players will owe us a performance after today that's for sure.

Dispite the injuries, I feel Koeman went with too many kids for such a big game. I would have started with Mirellies out wide, and had Holgate at the back instead of Pennington, I would have also given Valencia a chance instead of Calvert-Lewin who I do not rate anyway. Where was Lennon?

A very weird team for such a game, as for criticism of Rom, well I doubt if Ronaldo could have scored playing in this side today, very upset.

Too little to late Valencia 60+ Mirallas 80+ mins the game was lost by then. Williams lucky to stay on for that stamp, Barkley lucky to stay on as well. poor day today all round. If Lukaku wants champ league football then he's got to score against the so called top 4.

Just wondering what game I'm watching. I see a blue strip but this doesn't look like Everton. The passing is terrible, and the control of the ball is non existant. Number 8 just get him off. The striker, well what striker. I could go on and on.
Absolute joke. Can't wait for the game to end.

Why do we always go to anfield stating by the way we set up or the team chosen that we don't think we are good enough to win.
Have to put the onus on
Koeman for the shape of the team. same as. at Tottenham. we declare from the off that we are going to try to stifle the opposition rather than saying by team selection and shape that we are here to win. even allowing for injuries to key players. from Gordon Lee through the moyse era we seem sacred to think we can go and win away at the top teams.
Very disappointed not to see us go there and let them worry about us for a change.

Martin O, Neill blaaming Everton and Koeman for McCarthy's injury now. After the last time when Keane said players had to "toughen up", I think he has got a flippin cheek. I hope the ROI have to pay us a good compensation lump! Apparently Koeman had warned them that he was still carrying the injury and was desperate to play. O'Neill is saying the injury goes back to pre season so it's Everton's fault. errr that's why he was not playing for Everton now you numbskull! WE WERE RESTING HIM AND TOLD YOU AS MUCH. How can that be Everton's fault?
