I know loads of fans are upset with the lack of effort/ result in yesterday's game but as I said in the games live chat I anticipated a 1-3 loss. The gulf in class is there for all to see, City are just better. I just couldn't see us getting anything from the game beforehand. That's me being realistic although you never know in football and I would have loved to have been wrong. We earned another unwanted premier league record with regards to the possession percentage too which to be honest was woeful.

Like in the game and a lot of the games this season we haven't been good enough and deserve to be where we are. The table doesn't lie. Performances have been nowhere near the levels expected. Even after this season is over I'm still hopeful of a better one next time.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - i can take a loss howie, what i cant take is apathy and the players looking disinterested, yes city are excellent but do you think a peter reid or a mick lyons would have just rolled over?..no they would have rolled their sleeves up and battled, i dont see t5hat from this side mate..

01 Apr 2018 18:30:50
Good shout Ed mate teams used to scared of Reidy and the rest what team in those days eh.

Agree3 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - it was always part of our make up GB...once upon a time mate..

01 Apr 2018 18:38:35
Spot on and I totally agree Ed025. What I'd give to wear the shirt.
I'd probably be subbed off after 5 minutes though due to an over enthusiastic slide tackle. Man City have done it to many teams this season and I am in no way making excuses for our side, it simply isn't good enough. Our heads dropped after the first goal conceded and we never got going at all. You could say that about a few of our games this season though. Honestly for me (I'm like a broken record) the end of the season can't come soon enough.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - its the same for me howie..

Blimey Ed we can all dream eh, men were men.

01 Apr 2018 19:23:37
I have always tried to be positive, but after yesterday’s game I am struggling to see how we can raise our game for the local derby on Saturday, I know the form book goes out of the window, but I just do not see any fight in this team, if we use the same starting 11 and same set up there is only going to be one outcome.

What’s worse is Williams ban has ended and knowing Sam, he will put him straight back into the squad.

Struggling to find a positive.

Agree2 Disagree1

{Ed025's Note - the only positive for me bignev is that they will be in the middle of a CL battle with city, if they rest all their team and play their U14s then we could well get a draw.. :)

02 Apr 2018 08:48:20
I doubt Klopp resting too many, he will want to have momentum going into the second leg, what better incentive than winning a local Derby and a chance to finish runners up, nope klopp will go for the kill I am afraid.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - if your right then i fear for us nev..

02 Apr 2018 08:56:18
If we get done good and proper Saturday, I would relieve big Sam and bring Unsworth back in until the end of the season to give some of our youngsters a chance, or try to get abit of confidence in the first team by being a bit more attack minded, give the likes of Vlasic, Klassen, Beningame and some others a run out, I know some will say Unsworth was out of his depth but not an easy task coming in during the latter Europa games, seemed to do ok once we were out of that, all be it one game, but at least that one game we looked decent and attacked.

Agree2 Disagree1

02 Apr 2018 11:27:18
Another big compensation pay out? I doubt he will be going anywhere until the end of the season so we will have to grin and bear it and keep supporting the team!

Agree1 Disagree0

02 Apr 2018 12:29:39
Not sure about the grin and bear it, my hairs turned grey, I’ve no finger nails left, I’ve doubled up on diacalm and Andrex, I really do not think I can hold out on another 7 games, since following the Blues late sixties, I have never doubted the form book going out of the window in the Derby, even when times were tough, I had that hope we could get a result, this is the first time ever that I cannot see any hope what so ever on Saturday, will be the same set up, really not looking forward to Saturday with Sams tactical set up.

Agree2 Disagree0

02 Apr 2018 11:23:14
Ed025 Joe Royle had the dogs of war but Sam Allardyce has a bunch of whimpering pups!

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - your right wakka and the players have a lot to answer for as well as the manager, i just want this season over now so we can make a new start mate..

02 Apr 2018 14:49:52
Bignev, I think most of us thought unsworth was out his depth but looking back he came in at the toughest time and it was him who turned it around for me Sam came in and wrote unsys wave then we came crashing back down to earth Sam has only showed me in 1 game that he could be the right man and that was the fa cup game away to them lot in that game we had a go and were very unlucky to lose but then back to the league and his tactics and press conferences baffle me I'm with you get shut and give it back to unsworth again and wakka57 it doesn't make a difference if he goes now or in the summer he will get a nice fat wedge.

After the season starting with such promise for everybody I've never seen so many dis-spirited supporters. I'm hoping that the scousers in the squad remind the others of how important this game is to all of us and we see passion from everyone - management, team and supporters.
I'm not looking forward to Saturday but if we show bottle and fight then anything can happen
COYB.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Apr 2018 18:51:06
That’s the problem though bw, we know he will stick with Rooney and Schnids, might even bring Williams back into the team, need more than bottle, we need a bloody flue epidemic running through Anfield, only a Salah, Mane suspension or rest will give us even a glimmer of hope, but sadly, our team selection and set up will still struggle with zero confidence running through the team.

Call me a doom merchant by all means but I just do not see us turning in a performance on Saturday on past showings, and that’s an honest assessment on our team.

I've got to say we have more of a chance against lpool than we're giving credit here.
They were abysmal against palace and only for the fact benteke is absolutely woeful they Wouldve been beaten.
If bolassie had scored that header then maybe the first half Wouldve took a different turn.
C'mon lads we are a terrible side but anything can happen. It's just wether our luck is in. For once ha.

Just been watching the Chelsea v Spurs match, just shows how we have far we have fallen behind Spurs, a lot of work to be done starting with a new manager.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

02 Apr 2018 02:19:33
It's a massive job so let's get started but, understand, it won't get done overnight. Just look at Spurs and the time it has taken them. We will all have to be patient but we need to see commitment from the board, the NEW manager, the team and the supporters.

I guess that I have to agree with Ed002 although I would call the supporters "frustrated" rather than "toxic". In my day the old lady rocked, of course the attendance was normally much higher and the football was much better regardless of whether we were winning or not.
City of course have better players but they also play as a team (which we do not) . They keep possession (which we do not) . The players run into free space so that the player with the ball has options (ours do not) . When they do not have the ball their players make every effort to get the ball back (ours just back off) . Pep has them playing to a system which involves triangular moves between players (if ours have a system it is boot the ball up field as soon as we are under any pressure) .
If we could put Pep in charge of our existing squad without any additions or reductions in staff and put Big Sam as manager of City with the same restrictions does any one believe that in the fixtures next year we would see the same display. We have players who were good with their last clubs and Pep would have them playing like a team. They might not be good enough to win anything but I would bet that they would be entertaining and a lot better than we are at present.
Obviously there are not many Pep's around but their must be better ones than Big Sam. I want to see Goodison rocking again so please Moshiri get us in a Manager that will make us proud again.

We have been for a long time in the so called 'second division' of the premiership that accepted, my problem with the management and some of the players this and last season is the towel seems to get thrown in very quickly . even before a knockout blow has been received!
What the fans want is endeavour and that seems to have been lost in the wind that blows towards the Bramley Moore Dock, bring back some blood and guts and fight for every ball, a few showed that yesterday Jags, Coleman but they were overshadowed by the average and below .
We need a young manager with ideas this is so Bolton c2000’s . I’m not being toxic. but never mind City being so good . as they are . we didn’t compete that's the problem.

{Ed025's Note - very much so jonno..

Ed 25 think everyone is dispointed regarding result yesterday but city just gave us master class don't think any team in prem would got near then yesterday they were on top off game. Let face they gone win leauge next week most likely. Best team in prem since invincibles. a lot walked out half time yesterday which is there decision but I don't agree with the booing.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - city are excellent bretto and nobody can argue with that, my problem is with the application of our players who basically sat back in awe of them and it was like a training session for city in that first half, where was the grit, the determination and the want?, its not all sams fault but when he picks players like schneiderlin who was picked out of bloody mindedness to the supporters he does himself no favours at all, you cant tell me that davies or baningime would not have performed any better than that waste of space and thats why sam should be thrown out ASAP, he is out of touch with the supporters and the sooner he is gone the better imo mate..

01 Apr 2018 12:47:56
City had 90% possession? that has never happened before in the prem, it was a disgrace, next week? aaaaaaaaaaaaa.

Agree3 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - im expecting the same again stig..

01 Apr 2018 13:15:37
Next week we may well get beat but never again will this side put in a performance like they did in the first half. Could not believe that Sam had picked Schneiderlin and Rooney together in a deep role. For those fans saying Rooney just strolled around, WTF do they think Schneiderlin did. I honestly did not see him break into a trot. How many times did we see Jags and Coleman coming forward into the DM role, that tells you something. And yes I did sleep in a spare room again last night.

Well I thought we were in for a thrashing. 1-3 isn't so bad
;)

One of the best 3 sides of all time against the worst or close to worst EFC team I've ever seen in 40 odd years.

Yes early to late 90s (other than Joe's fluke run 95) levels .

I think LFC are going to score more.
The top 6 have taken a giant step away from us. We were running in a economic bubble the last 10 years with the recession etc. It gave the poorer clubs a false reading.

Now we are rich but still City out spent us 4 to 1. As did most of the top6.

MOSHIRI £s will do little more than keep us Bobbin about between 10th and 6th on a good year. Time will tell but the big boys have turned into monsters and that's a fact.

Excellent points ED025 but could you or ED002 please explain to me how you can say waste of space when describing Scheiderlin but Big H is vilified and called toxic for calling him deadwood. There is too much talk of toxicity on this site and ED002 is joining the debate.
I've just watched Arsenal get booed off at half time, I've seen Newcastle fans protest against Mike Ashley. West Brom fans aren't exactly happy with Pardew and Southampton fans just 'love' their board.
What are we all supposed to do? Do impressions of Beatles or One Direction fans all game - screaming every time we touch the ball (it would still have been quiet against city) or expect more from players who make a very good living off our team and should understand how important they are to us?
Apparently our motto shouldn't be' not satisfied with anything less than the best' but 'don't worry about any effort we love you Everton'
If we didn't show our appreciation of players who try their best ED002 might have a point but we love triers. Trouble was there weren't too many of them on the pitch Saturday.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - we have different views bw, myself as a passionate evertonian believe that anything less than 100% is unacceptable whether that be from the players, manager, board or supporters, if they are not doing their job then i want them out its as simple as that, i dont buy into this state of utopia where even when the team is not performing we should be happy thats an absolute crock, we pay our money and have the absolute right to criticize if we are not getting good value for it, and i dont give a monkeys toss what other people think mate..

01 Apr 2018 17:28:42
Totally agree Ed025
I think the 'passives' / 'blind faiths' actually do more harm than those wanting their team to do their best.

There's not really much anyone can say about yesterdays game that isn't painfully obvious.
We have some great players at this club.
Most of this squad were involved in the 4-0 drubbing of most of the city squad last year.
The difference? Who can say for sure?
A couple of new faces? Tactics? Belief? Atmosphere?
One thing is for sure we deserved to win this fixture last year. Today we got what we deserved.
Have we paid the price for our out goings?
Have we failed to adapt our new signings to the prem? Or maybe city are playing football on a different level to us now?
We can pick and choose whatever we all individually think is the problem but the fact we never turned up at home against ANY team in the league is what needs changing at our club.
I'm not going to say sack SA because I've already made my feelings clear on that one.
All I hope is whoever is in charge next season has enough time to change the current ethos at our club and at the very least produces a team that fights against ANY team be it home or away.
The very least we as fans deserve is a team that gives 100% individually and as a unit.
Certain players look an absolute shadow of their former selves right now and you don't become a bad player overnight.
I worry more for our crop of youngsters (some of whom are world cup winners! ) As they seem to be either wanting away or believe they have might not have a future at our club anymore or look completely devoid of confidence.
Get the right man in and give him time and patience.

Hey Ed 025 was Mr Moshiri at the game today do you know mate, surely he will have seen even before now how we are getting turned over so easily by teams not only top teams but mediocre teams and will realise that this can't carry on, he must have a plan in hand come the summer to change this, whether it be Big Sam, backroom staff and current team or all of them, i think this is going to be one our busiest summer in the transfer market ever for new personnel, cheers mate.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - i never seen the game actually GB i was at a family bash all day, good one to miss by the looks of it, there are a lot of problems with everton mate and i dont know if another mass recruitment will help..

01 Apr 2018 08:53:15
It is just too big a job for Sam. Once again he hasn't endeared himself to the fan base with his post match conference. If we want to win the league, all we have to do is beat the bottom 10 teams, home and away and not do anything against the top 6? I think he has finally lost the plot.

Agree2 Disagree0

01 Apr 2018 09:40:57
Agree with both GB and Smit. Also with Ed025 to a point. Not sure about a mass cull/ recruitment drive, but the dead wood definitely needs to be got rid of. And I include Sam in that.

Yes he's done what he was brought in to do, just, but he clearly isn't the right guy to take us forward. Who is though is the million dollar question. Over to you Mr Moshiri.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - The club won't want "dead wood" fans like you showing a complete lack of respect. Keep away from the site please.}

01 Apr 2018 10:32:02
ED02 can I ask who the dead wood fan is aimed at as it looks like your having a go BigH78 which surely can't be the case as he is correct.

Agree0 Disagree2

{Ed002's Note - He is a "dead wood" fan if he thinks the players of the club he supposedly supports are "dead wood" - and that is true of the manager. The Everton fans screwed up very significantly last year and forced the club away from communicating with them any longer - they are toxic and it has been done to death. The club will be sick of the whining bitches of fans. What they want are fans who are supportive of the players, the staff and the club. Sad to say they won't get that at Everton - why should the players bother trying?}

01 Apr 2018 11:16:32
I'm sorry Ed02 but you have just described fans of every club in the world so in your head all fans are dead wood I think Sam is the biggest mistake my club has made since we appointed mike walker some of the players are either not good enough or don't have the heart to play for us so I would consider them dead wood and should be moved on it's called business and you need to move assets to bring new assets in is that not how it works.

now if a fan who spends a lot of money following their club buying their kids the latest kits and hates it when Everton lose then I am also a dead wood supporter maybe you should realise that we all love our club I'm sure you support a club/ team who who watch every week and also have an opinion certain players who isn't good enough or is deadwood.

Agree1 Disagree3

{Ed002's Note - No, rubbish. The Everton fan base has degraded and abused the owners, management and is moving towards degrading the players and calling them "dead wood". It is unacceptable in my view. So if you also have so little respect for the club and consider them "dead wood", then don't come back to this page. Everton is a clu=b with a great tradition with people making a great deal of effort to put things right. They are constrained by having a growing second rate fan base. Just go away and take you attempts to damage the club elsewhere. You are not needed here.}

01 Apr 2018 11:17:53
What a ridiculous statement ed02
Why should the players bother?
How many million a year do they earn?
So some fans aren't prepared to sit back and hold their tongue so the club officials spit their dummies out and say they won't communicate anymore because they don't like criticism?
Maybe that is one of the problems with our club eh?
They want good fans who'll sit there through the dross and behave like good little boys and girls whilst watching a club like EVERTON go through relegation struggles and constantly being so skint that we can't compete for signings that take our rivals to another level.
Sorry mate but this is a results business and for too long this giant of a club has struggled on and off the pitch. Too right some supporters are going to speak up and say things from the heart and with passion and if the millionaires on the board can't take that at times then they're in the wrong business.

Agree1 Disagree4

{Ed002's Note - The largest problem the club has at the moment is a lack of support - you clearly have no understanding of the game if you think the players are unaffected by the toxics.}

01 Apr 2018 11:32:29
-------------abuse removed----------------

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - I certainly don't "hate" Everton, in fact I seemingly give them more support than you toxic wasters do. And of course I don't "hate" you, but I do feel sorry for you.}

01 Apr 2018 11:59:49
Its rare but i actually agree with ed2 here, goodison is poor now its silent apart from the moans and boos when someone loses the ball, am embarrassed to be blue at the minute, our fans need to forget who is picking the team and just get behind the players, be honest wpuld u want to play infront of 40000 moaning fans who you no first mistake there gunna be on your back? I guarantee if we had the place rocking ot would get the players lifted and up for the game.
True meaning ov support is helping when things aren't going right npt just celebrating when we score then next breath say oh that's only good thing we did all game
Forget sam let's get the ground rocking next week get behind the players and see what happens.

Agree0 Disagree1

01 Apr 2018 12:22:42
Ed02 I totally understand that abuse from fans will spread through to the players being targeted but let's have a look at what the fans have had to suffer first.
Our best players constantly sold at their peak value. Managers that aren't good enough given expensive and long contracts that need paying up. How about the years when investment was needed to take the club further? How about the constant stream of false dawns about investment and new stadia? The fact Phillip green had a hand in our financial affairs? How about the lack of youth development? The seasons of buying over the hill players?
The fact that we had a board who were trying to convince fans that just by merely staying in the prem each year is good enough?
Sorry ed but we have shown this club real support unequivocal backing (just look at the away support figures) over some of the bleakest periods in our history and people are rapidly losing patience.
I agree the toxicity can get abusive at times but exactly how long do they expect a paying fan to swallow excuses rather than see some positive and well managed change?

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - (1) I am not so sure players are constantly being sold at their peak value. Lukaku was sold for s tiny bit over £75M and Barkley for £15M (which is far from his peak value) - both players wanted to leave and play for higher profile clubs at a higher level. They were replaced by half a dozen expensive players costing between £20M and £45M and there was no shortage of money made available by the club. Last season John Stones was sold for £50M - again a player who wanted to leave to play at a higher-level. Prior to that I don't recall but three players have left, two for a good price - and all wanted to go. I don't see the basis for your point. (2) Nobody has deliberately recruited managers or coaches who are not good enough. (3) I am not so sure you understand the finances and the limitations on investment - money can not come out of thin air. Now the Premier League clubs are getting a great deal more money from television and from sponsorship, and that money is going in to the club, as was shown by the money spent last summer. (3) There was no way Moshiri was going to give Everton £200M per window for transfers - it was naive of fans to thaink that was true - even if the rules allowed it, which they don't. (4) Everton are planning to build a new stadium at Bramley Moore dock with the land and funding deals already agreed - I don't get what your beef is with that. (5) Baningime, Kenny and Garbutt came through the youth squad and are now in the first team squad. Dowell, another youth product is doing very well on loan. There are likely others as well.

So abusing the players, manager and board has already damaged the club and the relationship with the fans. It is a great pity that so many fans are unable to give their support at a time when the club needs it, and when the club is cearly moving in the right direction - or at least trying to.}

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Apr 2018 14:22:30
let's get something straight ED02 just because I think some players are deadwood does not mean I won't support them when they play for Everton as for the board they also have my full support as for the manager he deserves to go he isn't worthy of managing our great club but I won't put my blinkers on and think all is great as it's not you seem to like coming on and saying we are not propa fans as we have a different opinion to yourself well I'm sorry but you try buying a season ticket then watching inept displays like yesterday you will then understand where we are coming from.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I "like" coming to the web and telling you you are "not propa fans", what I have explained is very simple: the fan base when hounding the owners and manager last summer screwed the relationship with the fans; many of the fans have no respect for anyone associated with the club and wouldn't be booing at games and calling the players "dead wood" - why would anyone give a damn about these toxic fans; there is a clear naivety regarding the £200M Moshiri is expected to contribute to transfers every few months - it was never promised, never going to happen, not allowed to happen; for reasons I don't understand, fans think Everton are dragging their feet over the new stadium when that is far from true.

So if you want to avoid me explaining the truth to you all, then try and be constructive with the posts.}

01 Apr 2018 14:42:49
Isn't this site partly a place to vent frustrations? I've had a season ticket for 25 years, when I go the game I get behind the team, and just use this site to give my opinions. So am I a toxic deadwood supporter? If you go the game and see the complete lack of effort that I saw yday, am I not allowed to be upset ed02?

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - The site is for Transfer Rumours and discussions. You can discuss anything else about the club constructively. The terms "deadwood" comes from so called supporters who have no respect for the club or any of the players - far from true supporters. If you want to be toxic, then you can be, but not here.

I can easily delete your account if that doesn't suit you. Let me know.}

01 Apr 2018 14:56:55
If anyone doesn’t think the fans opinions affects the players think back to a game a few seasons ago (can’t remember who against) but the fans were booing and Jags is seen at halftime patting a downbeat Ross Barkley and saying ‘Rossco it’s not you they’re booing. ’ You could see Barkley was upset by the booing so much that the skipper was trying to deflect it away from him. Booing players will never help them in a game so why bother.

Agree1 Disagree0

01 Apr 2018 15:40:37
I always try and get my points across constructively, never abuse anyone, support Everton and every player through thick and thin so I don't think you need to delete my account. I just don't think you should lump every Everton fan together as toxic. Every game I go to is a clean slate for every player/ manager, but the lack of effort yesterday is very dissapointing, and fans are bound to be upset by that. I do appreciate your insights into the inner workings of the game and your knowledge of transfers. I just use this site to get things off my chest so I don't do it at the match.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - I didn't lump all of the Everton fans together as "toxic" - I am not suggesting that. But many are. And I don't mind you venting your frustrations here, but my point is try and be constructive with the criticism.}

Firstly I can go as far back as Rooney also Jeffers, M ball, rodwell, even Alan Ball!
Lukaku wasn't worth 75m?
I didn't mention replacements I said we sell at peak value.
A manager can only be brought in deliberately and neither Martinez or koeman had a managerial record that would negate their salaries or even hiring them for the projects they were hired to do.
Finances and limitations? Name a club as but as us who got left behind whilst other clubs not as big or as successful went on to greater things under the same financial restrictions that I don't understand?
I recall the kings dick and Kirby Tesco fiasco and also sports investment fund debacle.
As for the youth system, dowell asked to go because he was told he would at best be on the bench so he went to play regularly. Same A lookman.
Baningime? Played then dropped. Garbutt? Long gone.
Kenny? Where has he gone?
I also haven't said anything toxic towards the club or players or manager.
I have only ever stated facts and stats.
Look ed02 you run a FANS forum yet you seem to side with a faceless board that uses any excuse not to engage with fans purely because they cant/ won't answer questions that we are all entitled to know the answers to.

Great replies Ed002,

I have been arguing the same points for months now.

Keep up the good work mate.

It's one of the all-time best autocorrects Pauly.
Koeman seemed like the correct acquisition at the time. Martinez was, let's call it 'a risk'.
Lookman should have been rotated with Bolasie on the left, and considering Bolasies form, Lookman should have had quite a bit of playing time. Siggy should have been our 10.
Klassen and Vlasic should be at least on the bench and introduced slowly but surely over the season. Schneiderlin has been our worst performer and for me, has robbed the likes of Baningime, Davies, Vlasic and Klassen of playing time.

What a can of worms this discussion has opened. I think the atmosphere at the ground has been lost to a generation that are more concerned about perms and North Face trackies than the actual football.
The passing down of generation to generation of the tradition of Everton has been lost and we now find ourselves going the library and only hearing noise when something goes wrong. I'm only 36 and didn't witness the eighties glories but still seen the videos and still got behind the boys in the nineties even when we were pap. I get the frustration and I have a good old moan myself, and I've renewed my season ticket because no matter how dire the atmosphere is, its in my blood. I will always support my team, but I will always air my opinion if I feel a player is not right for the club or the manager isn't doing a job, that isn't me being a lesser supporter that is me being an Evertonian.

Bluegray, don't think it's a generation thing mate, the biggest moaners by me in park end are all the arl fellas, me dad included. The team aren't throwing the tackles in or showing any effort. It only takes a few good challenges to get us all going. It's just like watching a load of scared fragile balless load of overpaid wasters strolling around the pitch. We all walk out upset and 50 pound down including your 5 pound pies and pints and 8 out of 11 of the team walk away with 50 to 100 grand for f all.

{Ed001's Note - I agree with you, I think if that team gets stuck in and shows some effort everyone goes home happy. Seeing them standing around and letting City batter them is only entertaining for City fans.}

If you want to win the league you only have to beat the bottom 10 teams. Its statements like this that make you realise why SA has never and will never be allowed to be in charge of a top side. Apparently you don't have to beat the top 6 in his opinion, yet City have taken 21 points from the 5 sides below them and only been beaten once by them sides. I never expected anything from yesterdays game but when your manager comes out with statements like that and also using damage limitation in his after match assessment you know its time for change, yes City are an excellent side, but they aren't invincible and can be beaten using the right tactics.

It was definitely a crazy statement.
I think Sam and the team were beaten before they even kicked a ball.

since Sam came in we have played the top 6 seven times including the fa cup game and the record stands as follows
played 7
won 0
drew 2
lost 5
scored 4
con 17

now can anybody really defend Sam's record because that is up there if not worse than our previous two managers.

But is it all down to Sam? I amonly asking. Because I think that the slide started a couple of seasons ago. We built a team around the attacking threat of Lukaku and Barkley. When those 2 buggered off, it left the squad bereft of attacking options. Koeman signed no cnter forward, told theonly other one that we had that he would never play for the club and signed a load of number 10's. I can understand people saying there is no improvement. I can understand people saying Sam is a rubbish manager. I can even understand people saying we have a squad with some decent players. but overall, why is it all Sam's fault? I think if we had Joey McWizard super manager, he couldnot gel that squad into a top 6 team. I think the league tells the truth and I think we are where we deserve to be. irrelevant of Sam Allardyce.

Degsy, I think it's the stupid negative tactics mate, and the garbage that comes out of his mouth. I was all for giving him a chance but we haven't had one single good performance under him. There's nothing to suggest he's the man to take us forward.

The display against City was disappointing and it highlights to those in charge just what an enourmous task they face going forward. I don't envy them one little bit. Regardless of who is Manager next season, be that Sam or someone else, the squad needs overhauling. If we are serious about our ambitions to break into the top 6 or 4 we need the players who can play at that level. Sadly, most of our current squad simply aren't good enough.

After yesterday I would hope no one could argue with Big H but it was Sam that set them up and he proved he is simply not good enough as well. Rooney and Scheiderlin in midfield was never going to work with the other 2 out wide and providing very little cover for Coleman and Baines. Didn't change it until it was way too late and frightened of the reaction to take Schids off.

Men against school kids. I've not seen another team capitulate as badly as this one did.

We've all banged on about needing a midfielder who can carry the ball forward but what the city game showed was that we also need quality cover/ competition for Gana. Schneids and Rooney aren't good enough and unless Baningime is given a chance we will struggle when Gana is out/ rested.
Schneiderlin has shown that he can't play alongside Gana or Rooney so he has to be sold in the summer.

I though Schneiderlin was brilliant today, he spent the whole game doing his best to stay away from the action and he succeeded admirably. Of course one has to blame the cowboy who chose him. The sooner this clown leaves our club the better.

Snides always tries to look like he's in the right position but he just avoids any action he's a disgrace should never wear the shirt again.
