Possible Lukaku replacement if we are unable to secure him for longer?(not disscussing the chances of signing him)

Mine are: Remy/Chicarito/ Douglas Costa/ Hernandez(Palermo)

{Ed002's Note - Next summer is a long way off and these are not all strikers. I would not hold your breath waiting for any of these at this time.}

I know it is a long way off Ed, its just a bit of fun mate, no serious speculation.

{Ed025's Note - im with you mate...

Mirko vucinic is a player i've always rated. he's got all the qualities needed for the premier league. teves and llorente have seen him frozen out at juve. he's 30 so maybe it's not a long term fix but he's an affordable classy creative forward who can score goals.

What chance that one - or more - of our younger (U-21 and U-18) forwards would be ready to play in the first team next season? Or will RM and BK get another loanee as good as Lukaku next season? We certainly haven't had the funds - or the Champions League qualification - to attract the really top-class forwards for many years. We've had centre forwards who've done OK for a season or two, but for so many years now they've always seemed to fade away, get injured, or are moved on after some initial promise and moderate success. C'est la vie.

I know Martinez will have his own tricks up his sleeves but what would you do in the January transfer window?

Heres mine:

Outs: Heitinga/Jelavic
Ins: Demba Ba/ Xavi Torres/ Martins Indi.

{Ed002's Note - Ba will likely be off elsewhere and Liverpool as not shown interest. Xavi Torres only moved to Betis this summer, so no. Feyenoord's Bruno Martins Indi is subject to interest from Roma, Milan, Dynamo Kyiv and, indeed, Everton - so maybe.}

I can certainly imagine Heitinga going, but I think Jelavic will stay unless RM can get a suitable replacement.

I read some posts from fans not wanting certain players to come to Everton - for example Aiden McGeady. Well, I trust RM's judgement, as he brought in Barry and McCarthy - much to the displeasure of several fans - and those two players have been outstanding in midfield so far IMHO. RM also brought in Lukaku and Deulofeu and they've been impressive too. So, whoever RM wants to bring in - be it permanently or on loan - I'll back him and enjoy the football we're playing. A third of the way through the season and only one league defeat so far. Sure, a few more draws turned into wins would be nice, but some of our fans also expected RM to make Everton as defensively frail as Wigan were on so many occasions. We've ridden our luck a few times defensively, but offensively we've created a load of scoring chances and are starting to put them away in matches. Once a blue, always a blue!

I think mcgeady is poor, if he joins I will back him but I seriously doubt martinez wants him, he wanted him at wigan but ended up getting miyaichi, just because he wanted him at wigan because he may of needed him, here he has much better wingers so I doubt martinez will still want him

Mate sorry if i'm being a bit forceful and its your opinion but you cannot be serious, couple of fa cup goals and he is the next big thing, no pace, no power, no skill and clearly has an attitude, he is overrated and not good enough for the premier league

Absolutely loved the game last night.
One thing that bothers me is how fickle we all are. Two weeks ago everyone was full of gloom and despondency.
Osman was rubbish.well past it and it had to be Barkley every time. Pienaar was lousy and needed replacing. Coleman's defensive qualities were suspect, Distin was crap. etc.
Two weeks on and we have stuffed Stoke. without Baines, Mirrallas or Barkley and with Coleman and Distin.
Now we are off to Old Trafford to turn the Mancs over. I wonder if Barkley or Mirrallas will be back? Or should we be dropping Distin and Coleman? It is a squad we need. Not 11 players!

Dont get me wrong we played well yesterday but they are not a good team by any means and have lost that bite they had when tony pulis was there, fair dos osman played well yesterday but I expect barkley and mirrallas to start, horses for courses and all, by the way I ahvent seen anyone saying drop distin and coleman, exspecially with what we have to replace them at the moment.

Getting really excited for the Manchester United game now. If we play like we did against Liverpool attacking wise and against Stoke defensive wise, I have no doubt we'll turn them over. One thing is for sure though, we won't turn up offering them respect like we have been doing the past few years, we'll burst through the door all guns blazing. Going to be my first time seeing the blues at OT so i'm hoping it's one to remember for all the right reasons. COYB!

The players' attitude against ManUtd will show how far RM's work-in-progress has reached.
