Hey Ed, I hope you're feeling better today. Great day yesterday reading all the posts. I said we would sign jelly and we did. I also said we would get peanut back. I predicted a win against ssittteh. Any one for the cup? :)

Toffee ace

Believable4 Unbelievable0

Hey TOFFEE ACE gis a tip for first goal scorer against Wigan on the weekend, I've done Bainesee for the past 8 weeks and need a winner. Gonna have a tenner on so over to you fella

Degsybluenose {Ed001's Note - I have always had money on Dempsey to score at anytime, whether he is playing for the US or Fulham. Though his odds have dropped this season, so I think I might quit while I am way ahead!}

Agree0 Disagree0

Put this on:

Everton 2-0 Jelavic last goal

Agree0 Disagree0

3-0 the blues, goal scorers in order will be, Stracq, Chill and the Jelly man,

get a fiver on it

yorkshire_blue

Agree0 Disagree0

1-0 everton cahill 11/1

Agree0 Disagree0

Im goin with the jelly man last goal

degsy

Agree0 Disagree0

9/2 for last goal, when was the last time we had such short odds for a striker scoring, cmon the jellyman give Degsy a winner for once {Ed025's Note - gibbo for me 1st goal...and 2-0.....jellyman to seal it!

After Donovan goes i would like to see;
Howard
Hibbert, Jagielka (when fit) Heitinga Baines
Drenthe Fellaini Gibson Pienaar
Cahill
Jelavic
Subs
Mucha
Neville
Distin
Osman
Rodwell
Coleman
Straqualersui
and we still have back up with Vellios, Duffy, Barkley, Anichebe, Gueye, Baxter and Mcenely
Moyes has said Barkley is not going to feature much that's why he is not in my team.
No good us winning against City if we can't back it up with a win against Wigan on saturday, hope Baines and Pienaar can link up like they used to and hopefully Jelavic can hit the ground running and start scoring, i think realistically we too far away from top 6, but 7th place and a europa spot is definitively what we can achieve with Pienaar adding creativity now and hopefully Jelavic getting on the score sheet
Here's hoping anyway !

Believable5 Unbelievable3

I woul like to see straq play along with jelavic denis the menace puts defences under constant preasure this would give the jelly man space to grab the goals thgfest

01 Feb 2012 21:46:10
Thought yesterday's performance was outstanding, can't think of a player that didn't perform the standouts were heitinga hibbert but the person that impressed me the most was straq! He never stopped battling and I still dont believed he is the finished article in English football so can u imagine when he is completely settled in the prem! Sign of good things to come! Glad pienaar has returned, just goes to show the grass isn't greener and I'm looking forward to jelavic to see what he can bring to the team! All in all a successful January transfer window in my eyes... Can't remember the last time any blue could have said that! PROUD TO BE A BLUE! COYB!

Jelavic

all out lets av it!!!!!!!!

seewherl coyb!!

Believable4 Unbelievable6

That's a good side mate, but i can see Moyes keeping the team the same apart from maybe Drenthe being replaced by Pienaar

Agree0 Disagree0

Why drop straq?

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Drenthe should start. His first game for Everton was vs. Wigan in the cup (at least i think it was Wigan my memory is a wee bit naf) and I seem to recall him terrorising their defense and slotting a pretty nice goal. Time for a repeat?

ToffeeBoyJack.

Agree0 Disagree0

How can you leave anyone out the team that played against man city drenthe is better than pienaar anyway and I find it hard to believe that moyes would start has not played too much football this season {Ed025's Note - i know what you are saying mate...but sentiment does not come into it!, he must play the best 11 available, if the jellyman is fit, then i want him in the side, hibbo done very well on tuesday, but if jags, or distin were fit, would you really want hibbo playing centre back?....NO!

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Feb 2012 21:03:29
What a top day yesterday - where did that come from? - I've been buzzing all day. Fair play to Moyes and BK - Hope the Blue Union can now shut the ---- up and fall back in rank with the rest of us loyal blues - your the reason this clubs had a crap 10 months. Trust in Moyes and back the team - what an effort last night! Johnny and Hibbo were immense - great tactical switch from Moyes. Hope everyone gets behind Pienaar on his return and show him how much he's been missed - he's ate humble pie by pleading with Harry knap to let him come back - lets show him how much we love him. Bring on Wigan and 5,000 travelling blues - can't wait!

Believable5 Unbelievable1

There will be more Everton than Wigan on Saturday!

Hope jelly man knows what is required in a blue shirt, but if he gives his all then he will be remembered for ever like so many in the past.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

I think he saw that on Tuesday night. That has to be the standard for the rest of the season. No surrender ! And not just the players, Goodison needs to rock like that every home game. The away boys always do us proud.
If we can support the boys like that then I have a feeling that the not so often heard ditty "EVERTON ARE BACK HALLO EVERTON ARE BACK "will start getting being heard. COYB IMWT

I thought Fellini has upped his game over last couple of weeks just where he needs to be playing picking up the ball from deep and driving us forward although man city had lots of possession Fellini and Gibson controlled the midfield sometimes Fellini wonders and leaves gaps but he has been immense

Believable5 Unbelievable1

Just scary he playin that well it wont catch the eye of the real madrids or or barca

Howard
Hibbo Jags Duffy Baines
Coleman Gibson Fellaini Pienaar
Stracqualursi
Jelavic
Subs : Hanhemann, Neville, Drenthe, Barkley, Vellios, Cahill and Heitinga
This would be my squad when everyone fully fit and Donovan gone back to LA

TOFFEEAARON

Believable3 Unbelievable1

I Agree with the team apart from 1 maybe 2,
first i no Duffy is good, but he is not ready to finish the full season, as we need to move up the table as much as we can so i would place Heitinga there instead as over the last few weeks he is getting better and better as he worked wounders last night agaist s**tty,
And the Second i would put Drenthe or Barkely in place of the Stracq, as Moyes is not known for playing 2 up top, but if he does then i would keep him in there just pushed up a bit and more to the side of Jelavic so they can off each other with the flick ons etc.

what do you think?

Gr8 game last night boys, we played well...Some crackin' signings for us aswell...This is my ideal squad going into game on weekend :
Howard
Hibbert Duffy Heitinga Baines
Donovan Gibson Fellaini Drenthe
Jelavic
Stracqualursi
Subs : Hanhemann Neville Barkley Pienaar Vellios and Baxter

TOFFEEAARON

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Is big Royston banned?

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope so, I thought he was the only negative point last night, seemed to give the ball away and run into trouble. Can't understand why Barkley doesn't get a chance for a last half hour at least! Pienaar will definitely be first choice now as him and Baines linked up really well before he left

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Feb 2012 19:08:22
Can't believe some comments about Pienaar, every game he played even when we all knew he was leaving, he was still giving his all on the pitch.

Brilliant night last night what a fantastic performance to a man. Money can buy you players City but it can't buy you a team. Great goal from Gibbo (even with a small deflection) it's just such a shame we can't keep Donovan. Welcome back Peanuts and welcome Jellyman, you may have had a few teams now but like so many before you playing for The Peoples Club will stay with you forever. I haven't looked forward to a Saturday this much for ages COYB!

Blue Kaz {Ed001's Note - no mate, it is Ajax, Villa, Barca, Basel, Celtic, Fenerbahce, Inter, Liverpool, Citeh, Marseille, Molde, PSV, Rosenberg, Sporting (Lisbon to us, but Clube de Portugal is its real name), Spurs and Wolfsburg. But this is the first year of the competition and I do expect a few more clubs to be added for next year, there are ongoing talks with a number of clubs, I believe Chelsea, United and Arsenal are trying to get involved, not sure about Everton though sorry.}

Come dave hibbo played really well but he 5 ft nothin an there were times were we got lucky i would swap neville for hibbert an drenthe for someone as i think he would be far more effective last 20 min

Instead of hibbert at CB, duffy there and hibbert at RB. Neville has been awful recently

Last night was brilliant along time coming too it makes you proud to be a evertonian when we get performances like that and hopefully this will give us back the belief fans players and David moyes. I think from when straq slid into lescott on sideline that was when the game changed it got the rest of the team going and fans could see the desire. It gives me optimism for the rest of season and I going to see what price for us to win Fa cup now. And I'm sure any prospective buyers watching last night would be more interested in a takeover now. WHAT A DIFFERENCE A DAY MAKES 24 LITTLE HOURS COYB IMWT

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Stracq deserves more credit than bein just a workhorse .gt a genunine goal threat holds the ball up well maybe a bit rough round the edges ..but will get better with games a real hero in the making

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree, I'm becoming a big fan of Stacq's, the graft he put in last night puts some of our other recent stikers to shame. He could hadly walk let alone run when he came off and he was unlucky not to score early on. I'd love moyes to put Jelavic and Stracq as a front 2 against Wigan probably at the expense of Cahill

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Feb 2012 15:35:20
I really hope that people give the lads time to settle in and don't expect us to suddenly play like Barcelona against Wigan! Lets keep this positivity going regardless of the performance on Saturday!!

Believable2 Unbelievable0

To be honest we should beat wigan anyway, they are like a championship side at the moment and iven if we start with peanuts and jelly on the bench we should still win

01 Feb 2012 14:59:14
Jc here, i wasn't happy the way peanuts left, but let's remember qpr came in with a bid to buy and more money than us also they are in London so he would not have had to move. Harry said peanuts wanted to come back, that's good enough for me. We all make mistakes

I think more players should look at hibbo, one man club.
He may not make the right choice on the field all the time but he wears the blue shirt with pride and gives his all.

Excellent last night.

Jc

Believable5 Unbelievable0

Well sai mate! I am really pleased that Hibbo has been praised on here today! He is a true Evertonian and while he is not World class I for one understand why Moyes loves him... He is reliable, hard working and honest.. In short a credit to this club! Well played Hibbo!!

Believable2 Unbelievable0

01 Feb 2012 14:44:26
well you got the jellyfish and didn't pay the ott price the forces of darkness wanted, the guy will score goals but for your sake just hope he doesn't make any stupid predictions like he did when he was at castle greyskull ie: november forces of darkness 15 points clear the jellyman predicts the league is over and they wont be caught 6 weeks later when celtic go top the jellyfish buggers off demanding a transfer, remember also this guy and his auld man whored themselves to your city rivals for over 6 months. when the going gets tough he'll spit the dummy out of the pram did it at castle greyskull and did it at vienna where he went on strike to get a move you guys deserve better but on the good side at least he's not that person carroll or the vastly over rated adam (his sister is so ugly she makes the manc burdz look almost respectable)

I can't stand Pienaar, he jumped ship after we rescued him from nowhere thinking he was better that us. We all knew he would warm the bench at spurs! I personally hope the boys completely freeze him out as he deserves it.

***************************************

Well that would make a lot of sense wouldn't it!? Ok, I wasn't happy with the way he moved, but we've all made mistakes in our jobs haven't we? - the old "grass is greener" thing. And, for all we know, it might have been his agent who pushed for the move. He's back now though, & I'll be made up to see him & Bainsey on our left running defences ragged. I just hope that a lot of the stick aimed at Moysie & Bill K. will disappear from this page. We've got a pretty decent squad now & the best team spirit in the Prem.
Big Everton welcome to the Jelly Man, & a big well done to the Ed's for yesterday - that was one hell of a shift you put in!

Lots of aspects to be positive about at the moment so lets feed off this and get Goodison booming again!! I don't say this often but I also thought the Ref had a good game last night. About time!

What a day yesterday! Cracking result, new faces in and some deadwood out. The atmosphere in the ground was nearly back to its best. With the exception of the tw*t in the handcuffs i cant pick fault with anything last night.

I must admit when i saw Hibbo was in at centre back i feared the worst. But i thought against Aguero/Dzeko etc he did a fantastic job. Denis was like a battering ram up top, really taken him to my heart, love the passion and determination he shows. Gibson and Felliani were excellent. Good to Gibson get on the sheet, he can certainly strike a ball.

Pienaar's return was something i never thought i would see, but we know what we are getting and we know how well he works with Bainesy. Jelavic i think will be decent. Roll on the weekend.

One or two steps in the right direction, no fan of B/K, but, within the limits of his ability to come up with cash he has done what he cud. However, it is now time for people like LORD Granchester to either step up, and it is well within his resources, or step aside and sell his holding to someone willing to invest in the club.

They have plenty of it.}

yes, a selection headache for moyes on saturday against wigan...but we would rather have that than the predictable 11 weve been getting the last few months, personally i think peanuts and jellyman have to come straight in..also distin is back...my eleven for saturday...

howard

hibbert heitinga distin baines

donovan fellaini gibson pienaar

straq jelavic

that looks a tasty team to me , what yer reckon folks

Should go with the 4-1-2-1-2

Howard

Hibbert Heitinga Distin Baines

Fellaini

Donovan Pienaar

Cahill

Straq Jelavic

Agree0 Disagree0

Looks good to me just lacking pace with the front 2 but they are both big lads so should be able to hold the ball up for the midfield to get involved! They will certainly add more threat to our set pieces and with baines and donovan firing crosses in we should get more goals! If jelavic works as hard as denis does then we will have a very good strike force :-)
What i really like about denis is his eagerness to get in the box when the ball is out wide! Saha never did that! Wish him well at spurs though!

Agree0 Disagree0

I personally think this should be our team for wigan.....

Very good attacking team with a strong defence to keep Wigan out. Peoples thoughts please. Our team is looking pretty epic I think. Need to get straq and drenthe signed asap!

So good to see a lot of positive comments on here again! The criticism of BK and DM, players, tactics etc. whether valid or not was just down right depressing and was creating a bad vibe around the club...
In my opinion it does no one any good... Hopefully people can start gettin behind the boys now and we can start moving up the table!! COYB!! IMWT!!

Have not seen moyes look so happy for ages. very pleased for him more than anyone. you could see how these past few months have taken it out of him. All 11 played excellent last night. In summer we do need defensive cover at centre half and especially left back. leighton is looking a bit jaded lately as before donovan came over he was our main attacking option.

hopefully we can start to be a bit more positive now. we have managed to keep all of our stars, move on a premier league miss-fit and a past it striker and bring in 4 quality players, progressed in the fa cup with a good win against an inform fulham team and beat the league leaders while making do with a lot of injuries including our 2 starting centre backs. Jellyman to get his debut goal against wigan and pienaar linking up with baines to make one of the best left sides we have ever had.

COYB! and i hope peoples faith in Moyes have been restored IMWT!

What a deadline day! Jelly man signed, we beat city and to top if off peanuts is back!
Moyes is going to have a selection headache at the weekend! Does he play the new signing and drop denis? Nah! Cant do tht denis has been outstanding last 2 games cant drop him but then again we pay over 5 mill for a striker he has to play! So does he drop cahill and play denis and jelly up top? Again nope!cahill has also done well last couple of games so will be harsh to drop him! Maybe put him back in midfield in place of felli or gibson? Erm well no because felli has been awesome last 2 games and gibson is improving and scored the winning goal last night so cant drop either of them! Good luck with that david :-)

I posted last night stating if that guy who handcuffed himself was Blue Union that they should be embarrassed of themselves, I would like to apologise BU.

Didnt expect you guys to bring a protest inside the ground, think we should lay off BK a bit now though and if we are gonna target anyone it should be the rich guys on the board, I think BK does his best with the limited funds he gets, great acquisitions for us and just hope peanuts can resume his relationship with Baines cos it was great to watch

Gibson looks like a future captain to me

Degsybluenose

Believable8 Unbelievable2

Gibson is new, and we've hardly seen him in an Everton shirt! with Baines, Jags, Rodwell, i can't see a future captain in him - but he will be a good signing

Agree0 Disagree0

Give Gibson till end of season and he in my opinion will be captain, he looks strong and ain't afraid to shoot, don't forget he ain't fully fit.

He will be one of moyse best signings

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Your right mate, what a performance from straqulursi last night, hes just what we needed from one of our strikers, thought he absolutley played his socks off and we couldnt of asked any more from him, well done denis hope you get a good run of games now to show what you can do, also felli and gibson were brilliant last night, defo looks like we could build a team around that midfield, feeling a lot better about being an evertonian at the minute, dont want it to end, hope it carrys on with a win against wigan, coyb imwt

Moyes now has a dilema, who can you drop after last nights game. Jelavic, Pienaar, Rodwell Distin, and Anichebi will all be available for our next game. Denis was superb tonight, Heitinga huge performance deserved his man of the match award. IF Jelavic can get of to a flyer we could have a good end to the season. Next game.

The lad who hand cuffed himself to the goal post had nothing to do with everton, he was protesting against Ryanair , they sacked his daughter a while back and he's been staging protests at various sporting events, last one was horse racing I believe. He's also been protesting out ryanairs head office! My wife works for Ryanair and recognised his picture as they've been warned about him!

Your thoughts ed??
COYB {Ed001's Note - I think he is doing his best with the little resources he has available to him. More of a problem is his partners, they have a lot more money but they put in far less.}

confirmed pienaar back.
so we all want new owners but bill has done us proud this season if you think about it, i know we sold arteta but we also got rid of dead wood
beckford (struggling and a bit of a bad attitude)
yak (cudnt be arsed)
saha (cudnt be arsed)
billy (was never gonna put the effort in to be a true blue)
and weve brought in
drenthe (needs to improve but could be class)
denis (one of the hardest working players ive seen, he just doesnt give up)
gibson (not bad and will get better)
donavon (pure class)
pienaar (hopefully can recapture the form he had with us)
jelavic (great goal scoring record)
so bill has done ok by me now its done to the new and much improved team, come on you blues
