Moyes has said Barkley is not going to feature much that's why he is not in my team.
No good us winning against City if we can't back it up with a win against Wigan on saturday, hope Baines and Pienaar can link up like they used to and hopefully Jelavic can hit the ground running and start scoring, i think realistically we too far away from top 6, but 7th place and a europa spot is definitively what we can achieve with Pienaar adding creativity now and hopefully Jelavic getting on the score sheet
Here's hoping anyway !

I woul like to see straq play along with jelavic denis the menace puts defences under constant preasure this would give the jelly man space to grab the goals thgfest

That's a good side mate, but i can see Moyes keeping the team the same apart from maybe Drenthe being replaced by Pienaar

Why drop straq?

I think Drenthe should start. His first game for Everton was vs. Wigan in the cup (at least i think it was Wigan my memory is a wee bit naf) and I seem to recall him terrorising their defense and slotting a pretty nice goal. Time for a repeat?

How can you leave anyone out the team that played against man city drenthe is better than pienaar anyway and I find it hard to believe that moyes would start has not played too much football this season {Ed025's Note - i know what you are saying mate...but sentiment does not come into it!, he must play the best 11 available, if the jellyman is fit, then i want him in the side, hibbo done very well on tuesday, but if jags, or distin were fit, would you really want hibbo playing centre back?....NO!

I think he saw that on Tuesday night. That has to be the standard for the rest of the season. No surrender ! And not just the players, Goodison needs to rock like that every home game. The away boys always do us proud.

Brilliant night last night what a fantastic performance to a man. Money can buy you players City but it can't buy you a team. Great goal from Gibbo (even with a small deflection) it's just such a shame we can't keep Donovan. Welcome back Peanuts and welcome Jellyman, you may have had a few teams now but like so many before you playing for The Peoples Club will stay with you forever. I haven't looked forward to a Saturday this much for ages COYB!

Who jere would keep playing Gibson on the midfield when rodders and osman are back! Personally I would keep him there as his coolness on the ball and he rarely gives possession away and obviously scores goals

Come dave hibbo played really well but he 5 ft nothin an there were times were we got lucky i would swap neville for hibbert an drenthe for someone as i think he would be far more effective last 20 min

Instead of hibbert at CB, duffy there and hibbert at RB. Neville has been awful recently

Do you honestly think when fit Jags will be benched in favour of Hibbo playing out of position?

Jags would never be benched when he is fit, plus where is Osman ??

Last night was brilliant along time coming too it makes you proud to be a evertonian when we get performances like that and hopefully this will give us back the belief fans players and David moyes. I think from when straq slid into lescott on sideline that was when the game changed it got the rest of the team going and fans could see the desire. It gives me optimism for the rest of season and I going to see what price for us to win Fa cup now. And I'm sure any prospective buyers watching last night would be more interested in a takeover now. WHAT A DIFFERENCE A DAY MAKES 24 LITTLE HOURS COYB IMWT

Stracq deserves more credit than bein just a workhorse .gt a genunine goal threat holds the ball up well maybe a bit rough round the edges ..but will get better with games a real hero in the making

I agree, I'm becoming a big fan of Stacq's, the graft he put in last night puts some of our other recent stikers to shame. He could hadly walk let alone run when he came off and he was unlucky not to score early on. I'd love moyes to put Jelavic and Stracq as a front 2 against Wigan probably at the expense of Cahill

well you got the jellyfish and didn't pay the ott price the forces of darkness wanted, the guy will score goals but for your sake just hope he doesn't make any stupid predictions like he did when he was at castle greyskull ie: november forces of darkness 15 points clear the jellyman predicts the league is over and they wont be caught 6 weeks later when celtic go top the jellyfish buggers off demanding a transfer, remember also this guy and his auld man whored themselves to your city rivals for over 6 months. when the going gets tough he'll spit the dummy out of the pram did it at castle greyskull and did it at vienna where he went on strike to get a move you guys deserve better but on the good side at least he's not that person carroll or the vastly over rated adam (his sister is so ugly she makes the manc burdz look almost respectable)

Great atmosphere last night, the crowd responding to the players efforts, there were at least 3 players ran themselves to empty!

I can't stand Pienaar, he jumped ship after we rescued him from nowhere thinking he was better that us. We all knew he would warm the bench at spurs! I personally hope the boys completely freeze him out as he deserves it.

If you don't get behind the players don't bother going to Goodison. If he is in the blue shirt he has my support end of.

just looking at the league and all the s**t we recieve for our goalscoring record just 23 then looked a couple of places above and seen liverpools 28 wow a whole 5 more than us and considering how much there strike force cost i think they have the a worse scoring problem than ourselves

Donovan has won everything in the mls there is nothing else for him to achieve over there! He should finish off his career with everton help us to win a cup or compete in europe again! But swapping LA for liverpool is a big ask! Cant see it happening :-(

Looks good to me just lacking pace with the front 2 but they are both big lads so should be able to hold the ball up for the midfield to get involved! They will certainly add more threat to our set pieces and with baines and donovan firing crosses in we should get more goals! If jelavic works as hard as denis does then we will have a very good strike force :-)
What i really like about denis is his eagerness to get in the box when the ball is out wide! Saha never did that! Wish him well at spurs though!

I personally think this should be our team for wigan.....

Have not seen moyes look so happy for ages. very pleased for him more than anyone. you could see how these past few months have taken it out of him. All 11 played excellent last night. In summer we do need defensive cover at centre half and especially left back. leighton is looking a bit jaded lately as before donovan came over he was our main attacking option.

hopefully we can start to be a bit more positive now. we have managed to keep all of our stars, move on a premier league miss-fit and a past it striker and bring in 4 quality players, progressed in the fa cup with a good win against an inform fulham team and beat the league leaders while making do with a lot of injuries including our 2 starting centre backs. Jellyman to get his debut goal against wigan and pienaar linking up with baines to make one of the best left sides we have ever had.

COYB! and i hope peoples faith in Moyes have been restored IMWT!

I posted last night stating if that guy who handcuffed himself was Blue Union that they should be embarrassed of themselves, I would like to apologise BU.

Didnt expect you guys to bring a protest inside the ground, think we should lay off BK a bit now though and if we are gonna target anyone it should be the rich guys on the board, I think BK does his best with the limited funds he gets, great acquisitions for us and just hope peanuts can resume his relationship with Baines cos it was great to watch

Gibson looks like a future captain to me

Gibson is new, and we've hardly seen him in an Everton shirt! with Baines, Jags, Rodwell, i can't see a future captain in him - but he will be a good signing

Give Gibson till end of season and he in my opinion will be captain, he looks strong and ain't afraid to shoot, don't forget he ain't fully fit.

He will be one of moyse best signings

I know most People have been critical of kenwright, but let's face it the pienaar deal was of if Bk hadnt stepped in and talked too Daniel levy and things now look on the up so the best thing for us blues to do is get behind him.

Well what a fantastic deadline day we don't have to much to get excited about it usually but a fantastic win and 2 signings I was the person who predicted the table and had everton top 8 well all looks a bit more possible now don't you think. Back me up Ed {Ed001's Note - I have always said I think Everton can challenge for a European place this season. I have seen nothing that changed that view yet, I still expect Everton to end the season pushing for a top 6 position.}
