Good luck to Mo Besic. Really hope he gets over his injury nightmare and gets a run of games for Boro. I don't think he will be back at Everton personally but he deserves an injury free few seasons. Only advise I'd give him - don't stay at Boro - it makes Baghdad look posh!

Anyone know how true it is that klassen has been told he won't feature for the rest of the season? If true I find that absolutely terrible treatment of the lad, what the hell goes on behind the scenes at Everton, it's like we beat them to a pulp and turn them into dithering wrecks, honestly I can't get my head round it, player after player with high hopes turn into seemingly absolute tripe.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - i know sam wanted him to go on loan for the remainder of the season bjark which would fit in with what you are saying, i think he still has something to give myself but sam is a law unto himself mate..

01 Feb 2018 21:02:07
So do I Ed, seems like we do it quiet a lot though, drain the life out of players, end of the day yes it is a much tougher league than what he was in but he did ok in Europe, the bigger picture of it is it seems confidence at the club is low and has been for years and that seems to seep into pretty much every most players that step foot through the door, if you cost £5 or £50 million it doesn't matter, everyone needs a arm around them now and again, some more than others to tell you how good you are, sack Walsh and get someone in to pick up the players or just get some totty in to strut around every Friday that'll perk them up haha.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - that would not do at all bjark they have banned all the totty from darts and F1 as its sexist apparently, the PC brigade are upon us mate to take the fun out of our lives, as if we havent got that already with big sam.. :)

01 Feb 2018 22:09:02
Makes you think tho. Napoli, champions league team, wanted Klaassen, Sevilla, champions league team, got Sandro, RBL, champions league team, got Lookman. 3 players who can't even make our bench. Our team must be belta.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i never thought of that dentie..

01 Feb 2018 19:05:23
Hi Ed 025 just a thought, is Theo eligible to play on Sat against the Goooners mate cheers.

Believable2 Unbelievable3

{Ed025's Note - yes mate, its not a loan deal hes a true blue now and im sure he,d love to stick it to his former employers..

01 Feb 2018 19:14:21
Fingers x mate, would settle for a point myself, but Theo will be up for this one, but the Gooners will be hard nut to crack cheers.

Agree2 Disagree3

{Ed025's Note - it certainly wont be easy GB, PEA and miki making their home debut,s and the crowd will be really up for it..

01 Feb 2018 20:29:16
Even with PEA and miki they still haven't sorted out their defensive problems. Been a shambles recently. Not that we can talk. Hopefully Mangala will hit the ground running for us and be the difference, along with a revitalised Coleman, a very determined Theo and the unpredictable drunken chicken runs of Niasse.

Agree2 Disagree0

02 Feb 2018 10:13:43
I like to imagine a scenario where Aubameyang is running through the middle and Coleman cuts in and goes right through him with a fair but crunching tackle to welcome him to to the PL, then big Mangala terrorises him all game. Niasse scores the winner off his shin.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Feb 2018 18:49:03
Great result last night, very impressed, especially Coleman and Walcott, not seen our team with so much passion, as for Mangalla, don't know much of him, find out against the Arse hopefully, who, are leaking goals, 2 up front hopefully, and good luck to Lookman COYB.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

01 Feb 2018 19:16:18
Same as that mate those two were excellent, thank goodness Seamus is back and playing well.

Agree2 Disagree4

01 Feb 2018 20:00:11
Just shows you what some speed in the team does for you. Coleman and Walcott have pace to burn and everything of value went up our right hand side. Just don't understand why Lookman was not given a chance on the left.

Agree1 Disagree0

01 Feb 2018 20:49:14
Can't help thinking that Lookman's main problem might just come down to immaturity. He does seem an emotional, sensitive sort, with his reported homesickness and his gravitation towards Rom as a big brother figure. he's fairly close in age to Tom Davies and he seems much more level headed if we were to compare. Now that Rom has gone, and with his lack of game time, maybe the poor kid is just a bit lonely and insecure, which might be very clear in training, which would put him at odds with big Sam, hence his recent public description of his stubbornness. I feel sorry for the lad for his lack of opportunity with us, but I've come round to thinking that he's just not ready yet. He should have a good experience at Leipzig and may come back a bit more emotionally intelligent, professional and mentally prepared to rip up defenses and cover defensive duties for us. Until then, enjoy the bratwurst, Ademola!

Agree2 Disagree0

02 Feb 2018 01:53:24
and if things don't go that well, he might come back with a better attitude, ie one where he starts to listern to those with more experience. Just a bit to easy to put the blame at sams door if the kid is listening to his agent rather than people with his best interest at heart.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Feb 2018 06:43:28
I thought Allardyce's public criticism of Lookman was disgraceful. Those criticising Lookman's attitude here do so without evidence. The only thing that we, the fans, have to go on is his honest effort and encouraging contributions from the bench. To criticise his attitude on the basis of that is poor to say the least.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Feb 2018 11:53:45
I wouldn't class as public criticism he merely said he thought the better option was a loan at Derby but the lad dug in and insisted on Leipzig, it is often said that players should get European experience but this lad needs game time in the English league to improve his game, and even though Leipzig are a top Bundeslige club the reality is championship football will possibly get him more accustomed to the Premier!

Agree0 Disagree1

02 Feb 2018 12:42:11
To call some stubborn is not criticising them?

Agree0 Disagree1

02 Feb 2018 13:19:52
No I wouldn't, he perhaps could have said the lad was headstrong but its not really a criticism.

02 Feb 2018 13:36:02
Stubborn was the word reported. When was the last time you were called stubborn and felt complimented?

I as at Goodison last night and will add a few observations that I picked up that just does not show up in the hilights later and probs why some have difference of opinions on here.

Firstly Coleman, the guy never stopped running and made some great overlapping runs along with defending well, my joint man of the match along with Walcott, even without Walcott goals, he made some great runs and brought people into play, great signing.

Davies has all the talent in the world, Sadly again last night, he seems to be missing something and nowhere near the player he was last season, maybe it's time to give Beningame a run out there.

Once Everton scored, the confidence and touch play and movement was great, once Leicester scored, you could see sheer panic set in, mishit clearances, not looking to play a simple pass, absolute no composure.

Now I am not a great fan of Schnids or Williams, however once they both came on we seemed to have steadied the ship and not as much panic.

Finally I have touched on this a few times, Niasse is not as effective when he starts a game, never stopped harrying their defence but squandered two great chances, I would use Niasse from the bench.

Once Tuson gets going along with Walcott and Coleman will be great, need to balance this with Bolasie on the left and I Think we will be fine for the remainder of the season.

Really good read Baz.

The only thing I'd say about Davies is he is the squad for one game then out. You need a run of games plus he's still really, really, really, really young.

He made some great runs in forward positions and supported Coleman and Walcott well.

He's very much a number 8 but it'll take a few years to learn his trade in that position.

Baningami is a different type of midfielder. More a Snids/ Gana. Going forward they don't do the same as Tom and instead hold position and Cover the back four.

Agree1 Disagree1

01 Feb 2018 16:38:14
I agree with all of that post Baz mate especially on Davis he needs a spell back with the under 23s to learn his trade, good post.

Agree3 Disagree4

01 Feb 2018 16:48:24
Davies has a great engine and legs. He was closing down and harrying all the time. Same as Niasse. But Davies is like mentioned above. very very very young. Yes he does go missing a bit. but he is being given some game time and will only get better. Baningeme is also a great prospect. I would imagine both will develop into fine first team players.

Agree2 Disagree0

01 Feb 2018 18:07:19
Have to agree with blue John regards Davies. He needs a run of games, we have chopped too many times.
Why change a winning team?
Plus although he wasn't brilliant, he was miles better than Schneiderlin has been.

Agree1 Disagree0

01 Feb 2018 18:19:26
I agree with the harrying of players degsy. It was refreshing to see us defending from the front. I bet we had more tackles and won possession in their half last night than any other game this season. It makes a massive difference.

I can remember a Walcott chance and the one on one from Niasse in the first half to begin with.

More of the same for me!

Agree0 Disagree1

01 Feb 2018 18:07:40
Hadn't Davies been injured recently?

I wasn't at the game but watched it. And like the last 10 home games, when something goes wrong the stadium freaks out and you can feel that sat at home. Must be very noticeable live.

I'm not sure if it's a chicken and egg situation but the atmosphere of most games has been bad. Won't be players make the atmosphere or the fans over reactions put the fear in the players?

Great result and certainly a much better performance than I was expecting. Think the Gooners are there for the taking Saturday.

Review Of The Day 1st February 2018

{Ed's Note - we have posted a new article entitled, Review Of The Day 1st February 2018

01 Feb 2018 10:02:29
How emotional are we Evertonians? The season started and we had Koeman and Walsh bringing in players left, right and center (excuse the pun. there were no lefts were there? ) . anyway we all hoped for a push on for top 6. But then reality hit. We had lost 2 of our most attacking players and it became obvious after about 10 games that the squad was defficient of any forward creativity or left sided players. We all slid into depression. Koeman went and Unsworth did his best to steady the ship, but still haad the same defficient squad so brought in a bunch of kids. Big Sam arrived in a hullabaloo of some wanting him and some not so positive about his track record. A few wins and most of the Sam haters went quiet. Then a few losses and all the Sam haters were moaning on here. Suddenly the signing of a couple of attacking players and the pro Sam brigade are out singing in the streets. Fast forwards to last night and a decent enough performance against the team above us and all the Sam moaners are quiet again. Whichever way you look at it, we must be worst people to be with. Worst than a nagging wife on HRT. A right emotional bunch we are!

{Ed025's Note - and i would,nt have it any other way mate..

Absolutely Ed. I count myself in the same up and down emotional group. If it carries on like this, I am turning to Rugby. nah. compared to Everton Rugby is like watching paint dry.

wash your mouth out with soap ED025. Don't like league indeed hrrrmmmfff. Played both and I can tell you the one I was most knackered in. Not wholly I know but thanks to League is why Union changed for the better. Some of the guys I played with couldn't see their toes.

{Ed025's Note - i went to knowsley rd a few years ago to watch st helens v wigan DFS and it was very good, mind you the place was a crap hole but we had a good time, league is a bit stop start for me mate which is why im not a big fan of the VAR system..

Bit surprised with people saying it was a poor window, we addressed the CB and CF positions we dearly needed. Whether Tosun and Mangala do the business remains to be seen but there's talent there. Plus we could have got an absolute steal in Walcott. You could argue we needed a LB which we do but just remember it wasn't too long ago we'd all be up until the early hours of deadline day hoping for a surprise loan signing. anything!

Question to ed 25
Is there a option to buy with mangala and how much
Av got a feeling he mite come good i have watched this lad a good few times and when he is full of confidence he is a top player.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

{Ed025's Note - as far as i know callum its just a loan until the end of the season, there could be an option to buy but im not aware of anything at this time mate..

01 Feb 2018 09:45:05
I saw someone me reports yesterday that it was a straight loan and other’s later that stated there was an option to buy for £15m
As always you can’t altogether trust what is written in the press but as they didn’t start by mentioning a Riquelme sighting they may be more reliable than others 🤭.

Having realised that the club rate him below Cuco Martina as a left back, is Garbutt on suicide watch?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - to be fair glen martina was one of our better players last night, he is a decent footballer i feel but positionally naive..

01 Feb 2018 09:13:15
As one of his biggest critics, he did clear off the line and did win the ball to set up our 2nd (could have been first, as you will gather everything a little hazy this morning) but as Ed says he is positionally naive - regard that as an understatement. The thinking is that we need (ed) the points and throwing Garbutt in may have been a risk at this time. Those not in the habit of watching replays though I do urge to watch our games and watch what happens when Martina goes forward, I defy anyone to find him in our own half once the other side counter attack and this believe me is not an isolated incident. We now have Mangala, left sided, Mori to come back, left sided and Baines to come back. We are in a position now to play a back 3 of Holgate, Keane, Mangala (a beast when on form but worse than Williams when not) and two wingbacks Coleman and Baines. Maybe the tide has turned, I live in hope, that no more sleeping in the spare room is required.

Agree2 Disagree1

01 Feb 2018 10:31:08
hes just not a left back, he is what he is a squad player at Rb who is filling in but last night he didn't put a foot wrong give him credit when he plays well instead of just the constant berating its sad really the lads not great but he puts a shift in and is improving, we won and he played well yet some fans still insist on moaning about him.

Agree2 Disagree0

01 Feb 2018 11:21:05
It could just be SA wants Garbutt match fit before he makes an appearance imagine how some fans would react if he came played him and he wasn't ready. The SA out brigade would have a field day.

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed025's Note - which makes your user name a bit of a problem mate.. :)

01 Feb 2018 18:55:18
I thought Martina had a decent game last night and done well for our second goal when he won the ball at right back. Davis was our weakest link because he made too many mistakes the few times he got involved. Everyone else done well, Rooney was very good until he tired, Niasse should’ve scored but worked hard and also tired after about 60-70min. The only 2 players that didn’t play well were Walcott and Coleman. They were outstanding and if Coleman had scored that left slice he had then he would’ve got man of the match.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Feb 2018 08:04:12
Overall a decent window I feel for us. Tosun and Walcott good options up top and mangala is a new body in defence (although I'll wait to see how he plays for us before passing judgement) . Sandro and lookman off to get game time and klassen willing to stay and fight for a place in team.

On it last night's game. Ok, we got a bit of luck with them hitting the bar three times but we played better than we have for ages, for about an hour. First and last 15 mins were tough.

Pickford - going to be a star long term. Didn't do much wrong tbh.
Coleman - superstar, amazing. So glad he is back. Motm for me.
Jays- ok but think time is catching up with him.
Keane - pretty solid. He'll be first choice once he calms down and gets confidence back.
Martina - surprised me last night. Didn't do too much wrong and got tackles in. definitely need lb in summer tho.
Geuye - everywhere again. Like a machine.
Davies - headless chicken for me. Needs games to build confidence. Living off the city game I think.
Rooney- steady. Shocking for the pen but played deeper so forwards had space to move Into.
Walcott - quality player. Two good goals and looks a steal at 20 mil.
Siggy - Again steady but would like him in 10 role as he can knit it together.
Niasse - ran his heart out. So unpredictable but gives everything. Great squad player.

Schneiderlin- no time but for me needs break to remember the player he was.
Dcl- another future star but now we got cover he can be integrated slowly to learn the game.

Thought we kept Gray and vardy so quiet last night. Let's hope we have stumbled onto a way of playing that works for us til end of season then we can judge Sam and decide if we wanna keep him or not.

For future games I would play geuye and Rooney deeper with siggy 10 and Walcott and bolasie wide with either niasse or tosun up top. It may be Keane and mangala cb on the weekend but we always struggle against arsenal so if we pick up anything it will be a bonus. Walcott first goal may be nailed on.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

01 Feb 2018 09:16:22
Mentioned Gueye and Rooney yesterday Geoffjohno, as you say Rooney to cut out the stupid stuff and we have a good two DM's there with Rooneys ability to bring the ball out. And playing from behind the ball, gives his legs a chance.

01 Feb 2018 01:19:47
Gutted Lookman has gone as i think he should be playing parts in games.

Made up he's gone if he gets game time though. Hopefully moving to a foreign country in a solid team that plays with width will be the making of him, come the summer.

I for one will be watching RBL closely now.

All in all a shite window. Have let Barkley, Lookman, Sandro and Lennon go and got Walcott (who i think is a class signing) and Tosun in.

Getting no left back is criminal.

Hopefully the better players step up now, which i think they easily could do and we grab 7th and build again.

Seems a wasted year/ season for sure.
