Just been watching highlights of kids 4-2 win at Arsenal. Good God whose the lad with 7 on his back?
He was spraying pin point 30-40 yard passes that split their defence wide apart- fast track him to first team now DM!

Eds and fellow toffees. I've noticed we've been a bit down in the dumps a bit of late but I'm here because I feel a lot better now I've just been on the club site and watched the baby blues in the youth cup game against arsenal they have got extended footage great little game aswell People raving about matty Kennedy and rightly so he was superb but if anyone gets the chance to watch you will be buzzing with the number 10 chris long. Every touch was perfect if you asked me the kid looks a bit special. Made me feel loads better.

Of arsenal draw with spurs and we beat spurs we would gain 5 points on spurs hence 1 point behind. Not an impossible scenario.

If Moyes leaves, my ideal Premier League choice would be Laudrup. But I also believe an excellent appointment would be Thomas Tuchel from Mainz

Believable8 Unbelievable2

I doubt we will be looking at the Bundesliga, but I wouldn't mind Lucien Favre from Monchengladbach.

I'd go for DVT, Proper blue runnin through his veins

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah, Favre would also be a good option. Worked wonders at Gladbach to get them top 4 on a shoe-string budget. Sound familiar?

Agree0 Disagree0

DVT? That's Dita Von Teese, the burlesque performer! She'd certainly get the blood - blue or otherwise - pumping through your veins ;-)

Whatever the rights and wrongs of DM stating publicly now that he'll wait until the end of the season before deciding about the renewed contract, there's no doubt IMHO that he's torn between wanting to "finish the job" at Everton and deciding that he's "taken Everton as far as he can considering the financial limitations". I suspect that the only realistic way we'll get the required funding is to qualify for the CL group stages. The other possible way is a modern stadium that would increase matchday income. However, it's catch-22: without new external investment, we can't afford to build a modern stadium; but without a modern stadium, we aren't attractive to new investors. Face facts: we've been overtaken - on and off the pitch - by so many other English clubs that are now global commercial brands as well as more prolific trophy winners during the EPL era. It's all very well being the people's club and one that (to our players) feels like a family, but, for now, the era of TV rights and Champions League makes it very challenging for those clubs just outside the chosen few elite mega-clubs.

Spurs draw with arsenal we beat spurs and reading we one point behind spurs and right up there for fourth. Please be positive and get behind the blues. This could be the greatest period of our history. GA cup win and champions league coyb Paul c

Believable2 Unbelievable3

We are 6 points behind spurs not 1 point.

Agree0 Disagree0

Op to clarify spurs play arsenal next and of they draw and we beat reading. We gain two points on both adversaries for fourth. We beat spurs that's another 3 points gained making one point gap. It's not impossible I was trying to be positive

Agree0 Disagree0

He means us 6 points behind, spurs draw, we're 7 points behind, we beat Reading we're 4 points behind (Same game week) we beat spurs we're 1 point behind!

Agree0 Disagree0

He means we WILL be 1 point behind spurs if results go the way he says in his post

Agree0 Disagree0

Spurs play west ham next

Like most posters (I suspect) on this forum, I wasn't a professional footballer or coach or manager, but I like to make observations. I watched video highlights of the U-18 team's FA Youth Cup win at Arsenal and noted the following. A lot of very gifted and hard working technical players and clearly very good team spirit. However, the players at his level get more time to take a few touches before moving the ball on - in the first team they won't have that luxury. Look at Ross Barkley's recent (fleeting) appearances - he's been dispossessed or misplaced a pass mainly because he's under pressure immediately or outmuscled or outwitted by cannier experienced opponents. Once he's adapted his undoubted talent to the EPL game then he's going to be a top player.

Thank goodness we're a side with superb team spirit and togetherness because there have been so many matches this season where our poor finishing and defensive lapses have cost us points that the players could easily have become demoralised. Instead, although we have dropped too many points, we have never (by and large) given up and the players have (pretty much) stayed positive and committed.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

The only problem at the moment they are not showing much spirt, if they want 4th they should be prepared to die for the club.

What's the betting that DM once again shows too much respect (i. e. caution and negativity) in forthcoming fixtures at the so-called bigger clubs. Why not play like we did in the opening half hour at home to Chelsea? OK, we eventually lost, but that first thirty or so minutes was breathtaking and with more clinical finishing we could have been several goals up.

This season has shown - yet again - that we don't have the depth of squad (experience-wise and skill-wise) to cope with the demands of three competitions (EPL, FA Cup, and League Cup), so goodness knows how we'd cope with Europe. Only the CL, not the Europa League, offers the prize money & TV money to fund big player transfers. The Sky TV money is for all EPL clubs, so we'd be competing with lots of other clubs for the best affordable players. We must increase our match day (and other commercial) income and that will surely only come with a modern stadium. With increased income, which can be used to fund expenditure (unlike debts and annual losses, which financial fair play will constrain) we could strengthen and deepen the squad.

DM has done a very good job at Everton and, after more than ten years here, I wouldn't begrudge him the chance at another (better funded) club - say like Arsenal.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

He may as well go to Arsenal. They win bugger all nowadays so will suit Moyes just fine.

Big rumour that Moyes will be replacing Wenger at the Arse in the summer.

Lets hope this isn't true. No idea what will happen to my beloved Blues once god eventually moves on.

Come on everyone, ffs Cheer up and get behind the team!

Were 6th in league 6 points behind 4th with 12 games to go.

We are still in the FA cup with a winnable home replay and a winnable home game next round after that.

Hibbert aside and with Coleman due to return any time we are virtually injury free!

Yes our players are tired, yes January was a let down and Yes we are uncertain about our Manager but YES we can get something out of this season as long as the fans stay behind the team! COYB!

We are in with a great chance of getting to wembley and a top 6 finish above Liverpool again

Dave EFC {Ed025's Note - we are dave..

Agree0 Disagree0

Is that all we aim for now? to finish above Liverpool and finish in the top six. you don't get a trophy for that. I read one journalists quote today saying "it looks like its going to be 8yrs for arsene wenger without winning a trophy at arsenal and for a club that big its too long a time". Now I class everton just as big if not bigger than arsenal imo and to not win a trophy for 18yrs as a club and nearly 11 of them years with the same manager surely is too long a time for a club of our size.

Mr moyes has done a good job, for which he has been well paid, he has been givern a free hand, on which, he has built his reputation. It now seems he has used us as a stepping stone and is ready to "cash in " and move on, ok it's a free country, but if a player where to do something similar he would have gone ape. The honourable thing to do, if he has desided to move on, is to go now, or, kill the speculation and sign the contract on the table, as many people have said about players, the grass is not always greener on the other side of the fence.

Believable5 Unbelievable1

I think his recent comments in the press were a bit naieve to say the least bit I don't think that giving ten years to any club is using them as a stepping stone. (Wavertree Blue)
