Just been having a look at teams who have finished 4th in prior seasons and usually they get about 68-70 points. We've got 9 games left and we have 48 points so if we want to finish 4th we can only afford to lose 2 out of those 9 games. I don't know about you but I think it's more than possible, especially if they play like they did against City. If the players put a shift in and we as fans really get behind the team, who's to say we won't be welcoming Barcelona to Goodison next season? Come on lads, make this a season to remember (for all the right reasons) and support the players to get over that final hurdle and push for Champions League. I believe, do you?

Love the optimism Bitter, but I just can't see us winning 6 or 7 particularly with the 4 difficult away fixtures. We've left ourselves a lot to do after all the silly points we've dropped not putting teams to the sword when we could have run up a cricket score. It's possible and it's in our hands, if we can raise our game again to the level it was in Sept- Dec then who knows, but I think we'll just fall short, unfortunately. I'd love to be proved wrong though.

I remember when we last qualified, we were tailing off big time towards the end of the season and we had the united game ahead of us who we hadnt done since the fa cup of 95. Wasnt expecting to win that then up steps big Dunc, off went paul scholes then DM tells fergie to do one.

I didn't think we would beet city last week, so maybe that was our moment to go again with another big push. We have to play arse and spurs. ITS IN OUR HANDS!

I have noticed not much activity today on the posts. What's peoples thoughts now on Fellaini do you want him to stay if we get a European place? My opinion early on in the season was we need to keep hold of him if we need to move forward and stop selling our best players, but his attitude at times and suspensions I do start to think if we could get 3 good players instead and at times we play better football when he not playing due to it being easier to go long.

I think a lot depends whether moyes stays or not. Felli did say he was staying a while back but I think its likely he will go. personally I think if someone gives us £25 mill plus we should take it.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd take £25m only if ALL of it is reinvested in the team/squad. Martinez could get 4 or 5 quality players with that including James McCarthy, Franco Di Santo (free) and 2/3 others

Id take the cash and if Phil Nev retires plus get rid of heitinga that's 3 big earners off the books. The only way I see moyes staying is if every cent is reinvested and let the tv money sort the banks. Moyes has the board where he wants them give me cash or I walk. 30 mil could really freshen up the squad like mccarthy/chadli/defour ( I wish)

£25m for Fellaini, I'd snatch their hands off and then promptly go and purchase Etienne Capoue and Alvaro Negredo. Job done, simples. £30m and you could get Chadli thrown in near enough. These would easily negate the loss of Fellaini.

Winston Tifet is a free agent now. Could moyesie swoop in for the big centre forward?

Dont believe Moyse wants to leave as the Manchester United job is no nearer coming his way. but he must have told Bill that he needs to have others on the Board prepared to back him with money or he and we will be left with an ageing team, which for all its strengths, will begin to show up its shortcomings even more next season. The dilemma will be if the board don't want to back him with more cash. then Moyse may feel he has to jump, having made a stance, even though deep down he doesn't want to. Remember Kendall went once, not because he wanted to, but because one member of the board intervened to block a move for Dion Dublin, a deal which had been agreed with Alex Ferguson. He questionned the cash being asked for and the deal fell through. Kendall walked. As Stubbs said, regarding Moyse future, our eyes should be on the board more than how high we finish.

Leeds new owners have come out and said club 4 sale for 29 million bought for 22. this is a wake up call for fans screaming about investment and for the reported price of 125 million for everton. , u can say what u want Leeds is a big club with a decent ground and with good training facilities albeit a championship side. so 125 seems very steep in comparison. not a kenwright supporter think him and board are like the masons are are quite happy to listen to each other and no one else which has led to massive mistakes in the past. the Leeds situation is a dark reminder of bandits out for a quick return

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree that the price is too high right now. But you are having a laugh if the board will sell for that much. Everton are in the Prem League, their revenue, especially after next season will be a lot, and I mean a lot more than Leeds.

Thus, there is no way Everton and Leeds will go for the same price.

Agree0 Disagree0

Not sayin the same price but there is a big difference a 100 million and the infrastructure of both clubs r very similar. remember Leeds not so long ago were in a better position than everton, semi finals of champions league. all I'm saying is Leeds is a wake up call to both fans and most importantly the board, they need to realise that no one will pay 125 and if moyes leaves the price will only decrease. as I've said not a fan of board or kenwrights, but the similarities are scary

Agree0 Disagree0

Leeds squad is probably valued at 100 million less than ours. So any investor would have to invest an awful lot of money into the playing staff to bring them up to our level. Torbay Toffee

Leeds utd don't even own elland road so 29mill sounds a lot for what really is just the name and players
