Banter please ed just want to know would our fans be happy if we sign Boney in the summer our would they rather Lukaku.I would go for Boney I think he is a better all round player plus has hit 18 goals this season I hope the story on news now linking him with us is true.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think all round Bony is better. Lukaku has chance to become a good striker as long as he works on his close control, heading and passing, but he is young and still learning.

Agree0 Disagree0

Steffens I think it all depends upon the prices being quoted. Lukaku has got the potential but has not lived up to initial expectations. He started brilliantly before Christmas but has not hit the ground running after his injury. If Chelsea are looking at 20 million plus for him let him go back. If the price is nearer 10 million then he's worth nurturing and we should go for him if he wants to stay. I think he'll want CL next season so if we qualify for the Europa he might choose to leave regardless. Bony is a useful player and has already scored more goals than Lukaku. But would he cost more or less than Romelu?
I still say that we need at least 2 new strikers and without wanting to repeat myself (and in so doing upsetting Swan) Danny Ings should be one of those. He's a great prospect and CAN step up from the Championship given the chance.

lukaku is easily the more complete player lads, but bony does more all together with what he's got, depends who is cheaper, we need 2 strikers, someone powerful like romelu or bony and someone quick and agile like muriel (even though he has halted) or ings, who yes davey he CAN step up, doesn't mean he WILL step up

Agree0 Disagree0

Bony is a good striker. Swansea paid over 10mil for him and to be fair he looks like value for money. Swansea though rarely lose money on a deal so if you are thinking Bony would be a cheaper option than the Rom then you may be surprised.

There is plenty of noise that there is a larger than normal transfer budget this summer and that there is no need to sell any first team assets. But I fear that these two strikers will mean spending the lot and that is unwise when you see what it did with west ham ala andy carol.

Don't be surprised if there is a loan request for a striker whilst doing a perm on a striker like Ings.

If I was to choose between Bony or the Rom then it would be Bony. Scores and doesn't think he is too good for the club he turns out for every week.

Agree0 Disagree0

And Ings would be an asset if we make the move for him. Rather than wait to see what he might do if (and when) Burnley get promoted let's set the stall in motion and get him in.
I'm sorry if other posters feel I'm harping on about him, but he is a prospect and other clubs will come in for him. I don't want to see us lose out on a young striker whose price could soar if he starts well next season. This lad is pedigree and could prove to be the diamond we've been waiting for. Remember Gary Linekar when we took him from Leicester. At the time a lot of money from a smaller club but then sold on for a huge fee when he didn't wait for a Division 1 medal in 1987.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i like him davey, if we could get him for around 8m, i would give him a shot..

So are you phoning Roberto Ed or is it down to me?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - it's down to you davey, my credit has run out phoning him to get bony mate.. :)

More from Everton manager Roberto Martinez, who dismisses reports linking defender Seamus Coleman with a £15m move to Manchester United. Responding to the speculation, Martinez says: "It must be a different Seamus Coleman because there has been absolutely no contact."

Class response I think

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Totally agree. It's either lazy journalism or Moyes is up to his old tricks again. Either way Seamus is NOT for sale.

Ed is there any chance everton will sign jack rodwell jack colback and mario Suarez

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed013's Note - All 3, very unlikely}

What's your opinion on this ED025?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - they are just names at the moment BT, for me only suarez out of them 3 would improve the team..

Horrible scenario here. We finish 6th ahead of Man utd, and behind Spurs, but Manchester United win the Champions League, and so 4th place get Europa and we miss out on Europe again. i'd be devastated!!

Ha ha ha, come on QB, as if they are going to win the Champions League

Agree0 Disagree0

Wo calm down QB, I've more chance of playing in the game against Cardiff than they have of winning anything this year!

Agree0 Disagree0

Flippin' heck, QB. You're taking pessimism to a whole new level, mate! Pour yourself a drink, have a look at the other teams in the quarters & then sit back & relax!

Agree0 Disagree0

As if Spurs will hold onto 6th. They'llbe lucky to finish above Newcastle the way that are playing right now. that has got to be the most expensive bunch of nothing I have ever seen in the premier league. And Tim Sherwood?. Useless.

Agree0 Disagree0

You never know guys. Chelsea had a bad season in the league about 3 years ago, but won the CL. anything can happen in that competition. but fingers crossed we get 4th or at least 5th anyways :)

Agree0 Disagree0

We'll get 5th at best or 6th. 2 games in hand over Tottenham and only 2 points behind and 3 above UTD with 1 game in hand. Let's go for it.

Agree0 Disagree0

O no we miss the europa and miss the chance 2 play a shed load of games for buttons before getting smashed in quarters by 3rd place cramps league team, it would be a blessing but Manchester United couldn't win with top 8 of the premier never mind some of Europe's best

Love the comments from ross barkley, backing up sheedy's earlier rant by posting. roberto is a better tactician than moyes. I know the lad's only stating the obvious, would be nice when the youth set up get games either this or next season to post their delight that roberto's our manager and they are grateful of the opportunities they are receiving as opposed to that of our previous manager!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Where are these comments Craig?

I hope the Coleman rumours are not true. It would make sense that Utd could do with him. I just hope it is paper talk.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I can't claim any insider knowledge, Degsy, but I am taking some comfort from the source - The Metro and and The Mail (both part of DMG Media) have a long record of linking our players to moves that never happen.

Don't forget, these are the same people who have been confidently telling us (for the last 4 years) that Baines would be leaving us at the earliest opportunity.

Agree0 Disagree0

I read only yesterday we were offering new deals to Barkley, McCarthy, Coleman and Stones at the end of the season and that Martinez sees them as the future core.

Agree0 Disagree0

True Oli. Why would they want to leave when we can offer them regular playing opportunities and the likelihood of European competition next season?

Another LUCRATIVE? Shirt deal with chang 16m? Yeah right well that's cleared that up then. I bet chang and umbro are p#ssing themselves laughing at us. How come other teams get better deals than us? Answers on a postcard to jd wetherspoons.

Time for a club steatment, That there has been no disscussions with unt for Coalman, and as such there is no foundation to the report of a 15m deal. Why the hell would we consider selling the player at such a discounted price, particulaly when we are supposed to be in such good financial shape.

According to the Metro United are in advanced talks to sign Seamus Coleman, more paper talk no doubt
