Evening Gents,

Reading your posts, you are obviously anti Martinez (majority) .

I totally understand. I look at what you boys are going through and see slight similarities with us Gooners where Wenger is concerned.

Ok, bit unfair to compare RM to AW.
RM has had 3 years (I think) whereas AW has been at our helm for 20 years.

I'm comparing AW's last 10 years to RM's 3 at Everton.

For whatever the reasons are, and ours are a bit harder to swallow, both managers run a very tight ship, financially.

Sanchez, Ozil and Lukaku apart, both managers look for bargains, as opposed to splashing the cash on big names.

The past 2 seasons have been a saving grace for Wenger (2 FA Cups) , but we still have a large 'Anti Wenger brigade' as you saw on Saturday with the 'Wenger out' banner and I knew you boys have a proportion of 'Martinez out' supporters.

I know Everton supporters are fanatics and once the game starts, you support the manager and players, but justifiably vent your anger if things are going tits up.

My point is, what with your new owner and the extra revenue that should follow, don't you think brown shoes deserves another year in charge?

20 Mar 2016 21:18:22
Good post DG. agree with a lot you say but wenger has managed to get top 4 over the last 10 years. martinez comes on all smiles and happy even when we have lost, wenger atleast states the obvious even if he win mr misery award. we were easily beaten by a team that didn't even have to find first gear.

16 years consecutive I think which is amazing and he wasn't spending mad money year in year out. The problem with Arsene Wenger is he has been there too long in my opinion and won't change his policy or way of thinking and keeps falling short in the league and is a fair bit behind every year in the Champions league the majority of fans want change now and that is understandable.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - That is not what they are going to get.}

20 Mar 2016 22:21:37
Fair points Gents,

Agree 002, Arsene will be there for another year, as planned.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Mar 2016 22:27:50
Thing is Dags he is unable to read a game to make tactical subs neither can he see a game through when we have a comfortable lead. Also it's plain to see we don't practise set pieces also how to defend them, this mentality of we may leak a few goals but as long as we score more than them it's OK is bonkers! Us fans have seen through his rubbish now and want and deserve better.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Mar 2016 22:38:39
Exactly Stef, the most consistent team in premiership over the last 20 years give or take. Getting into champions league every year. That's consistency that Everton need badly.

Look at the hand AW had in the future of Arsenal too with the stand and not going mad in the transfer market. AW was a god sent.

I know its frustrating for you Arsenal supporters that its awhile since you's won the league but your consistency under AW is very admirable and will hardly ever be replicated again.

Premiership will be there for the taking for you's some year soon. AW is no doubt near his final tenure at Arsenal. I think no one knows that more than him.

Personally seeing all he done for Arsenal I think it should be up to him on when to leave. Doesn't Arsenal make steady profits most years? Unlike almost every premiership club.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Mar 2016 01:20:00
I appreciate what your saying but we are just too open under martinez and that will never change as that comes as a result of his philosophy and style. We do not have the gritiness and solidity along with the stylish attractive football therefore providing no balance at all. Coleman linked with bayern, stones linked with chelsea united barca, mori linked with barca, baines still one of the best left backs in Europe or there about, barry and mccarthy good defensively. Conceded more home goals that rock bottom place villa. Enough is enough for me i'm afraid.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Mar 2016 06:41:24
Very fair comment's,

You all speak very highly of AW.

Are you secret Gooners? :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Mar 2016 06:46:23
You are joking aren't you Dag Gunner? When AW took over at your club, you had a similar quality of squad to ours. A stadium that was as decrepid as ours and in the 20 years he has built the most successful team ever that won the league without losing a game. You have won trophy after trophy and rebulit the team numerous times. The standard of football you watch is second to none and the kids teams he creates have knocked Everton out of cups and whooped us in the league numerous times. Your board and AW then decided te only way you could continue to compete with the likes of Man Utd, Barca, Madrid etc was to invest is a superb new big stadium in the most expensive part of the country. That meant you had to cut costs in other areas. eg wages, signing on fees and payments to agents. at the same time it was imperitive to stay in the Champios League and get the 50 million each season for those who get to knock out stage and as far as I know you did that. plus you won a few cups. And you compare that with RM's 3 seasons at Everton where he inherited a great squad that had been built by the previous manager who had done it by wheeling and dealing and at the same time actually made 11 million profit in the deals over 11 years. RM then spent 60 million (deficit) in creating this squad which in my humble opinion has so much dead wood. Yes we can sell Stones for probably 30 million. and Lukaku for similar or even a bit more, but whichother players in our squad are in demand? Not many I can tell you that. which Arsenal players are in demand? Just about the whole bloody lot. No comparisson mate.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - good post that degsy..

20 Mar 2016 20:27:09
Martinez praises Tim Howard, no wonder the timing of his announced departure is dominating all blue news when it should be about how the hell RM is still in charge.

Believable5 Unbelievable0

20 Mar 2016 18:50:46
simple question LUKAKU or MARTINEZ who do you want to stay at the club , because the way I see it the only hope of lukaku staying is to get new manager in and new players plus new improved wages and a claus in his contract to say if we don't make champions league you can go and I genuinely think lukaku will give us one more season, but if Martinez stays this will not happen 100% wile he is still here. if the powers that be can't see this then us as fans have to make sure they know how we feel even if we win the cup the man has to go , maybe if Martinez sees how we really feel he will walk won't hold my breath but we have to protest

Believable5 Unbelievable0

20 Mar 2016 18:57:58
My sentiments exactly. per post below. but has to be a replacement manager with punching power to convince him to stay. keeping rom has to be main objective.

Agree2 Disagree0

20 Mar 2016 19:36:16
He didn't walk after taking Wigan down Muff, he has never to my knowledge even admitted it was his and his Staffs fault. The bloke is a good Scout and probably a good attacking coach but a Manager with tactical nounce, he is not. I am afraid that as long as Bill is Chairman Roberto is going nowhere, because A. Bill is overly loyal and far from being pro-active and B. Whatever Mr Martinez says many seem to believe despite evidence to the contrary.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Mar 2016 18:35:46
ED25. I am not surrgesting you have inflance in the corridors of power, but you clearly know someone on the inside, could you not send a message up to the power brocker, of just how strong the feeling is in respect of Martiez.
A manager loses a few games, and all supporter start to have a moan, but, if you can put a word in the righr ear, try and get it across, that this is much much more, than just a general grumble, this man is destroying our club, his track record with us, and Wigan shows he is clearly not up to the job, and if his pay off is 5m, it would be one of the best investments the board will ever make.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - one of them people who gives me the odd nod dislikes his style more than us JCW, the discontent is clearly known in the corridors of power mate but its how they decide to use that information thats the key..

with Howard going to Colorado rapids who do you want replace him mandada being mooted could be a good replacement. who would you go for.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - forster for me bretto because hes ugly, which means he is brave and will not think twice at diving at someones feet...even if it did mean a kick in the mush...get my logic?.. :)

20 Mar 2016 16:43:45
he is quailty can't see southampton letting him go and they paid 10 mil so they want about 20 Leno be good choice think mandada will be one as he free.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Marseille's Steve Mandanda is out of contract in the summer and Marseille would ideally like a new deal. They would not to sell in January as it would have given them a goalkeeping issue they don't want. There has been no approach made to Marseille by Liverpool but he could be considered going forward. Everton have asked for discussions with the player and his representative but at this tiem the player is not keen on having his season disrupted and is happy to wait until the end of the season before any talks or decisions. Both Aston Villa and Newcastle made approaches in January that were rebuffed. A couple of points of note: SM is happy at Marseille but not being in the Champions League next season will be an issue if a Champions League club come along. He won’t be interested in being anything other than first choice.}

20 Mar 2016 16:22:59
Love it Ed, Begovic for me mate.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - well he certainly fits the ugly criteria mushy, when he fell out the ugly tree he must have hit every branch on the way down mate, mind you that rules joe hart out as hes prettier than a lot of birds i have been with.. :)

thanks for info ed 02. do you know any other goal keepers of intrest.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - One I know of right now. Real Betis' Antonio Adan returned to Spain after citing problems settling in Italy. He has certainly attracted the attention of scouts from a number of teams this season with Everton, Southampton, Marseille, Sunderland and Newcastle all paying attention as far as Betis understand. I am not aware of any declared interest from Liverpool although he has been scouted. The club will certainly be looking for a replacement for Bogdan in the summer and Adan would give Mignolet a better run for his money. Adan would also be much cheaper than ter Stegen who seems to be the one the supporters want. Marseille may drop their interest in the light of something going on in the background. If Sunderland were to be relegated then I would discount them. What I don't know is if the player would want to leave southern Spain for England.}

Jamie Stephens at Barnet. He was with Forest Green Rovers and I coached him. lol. Then LFC signed him but released him. Not sure why. I was fuming. I had written to EFC numerous times telling them about him. He has trolled the lower Leagues but Barnet have just offered him a contract. I would say our best bet is to unearth another Jack Butland/ Jamie Stephens in the same manner as John Stones/ Seamus Coleman. It can't be that hard to find young keepers coming up.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Mar 2016 16:00:50
Moyes is the safe option for sure Ronald koeman would be a great choice but I would sack Spanish bob now and place big Dunc and unsworth in charge until end of season because if bob wins fa cup he will be there another season and that will be bad .

Why are we having to put up with all this RM business it's going on and on and on for to long I'm sick of taking about it and sick of reading it on here and I'm one of them who post it on here but why dose are club act like this no other club would put up with it why haven't we sacked are manager what exactly are we waiting for what is the issue we have nothing to loose we are not exactly fighting for first place or getting relegated so why can't we just get shut today and then we can finally talk about something else.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - it would certainly make better reading on here if he was shown the door skylark, it does not seem likely anytime soon though mate..

I was with a couple of Arsenal supporters last night and they could not believe how easy the win was yesterday their general view is when you get three points at Goodson you've really earned them in a hard fought 90 minute battle but how toothless were we we needed a goal and brought on a defender against the hammers we needed to close out the game and brought on an untested forward we really have gone backwards under this manager but sure his last entry on his CV is relegating Wigan. very very sad blue.

Believable4 Unbelievable1

20 Mar 2016 12:52:16
Everton were a top 6 side before Martinez took over, now we are a bottom half team and it is not like we sold all our best players and left him with average squad he has been backed by the board well as much as Everton could afford. If this was any other club he would of been sacked he knows he is in a safe place with Everton no pressure at all.

Believable5 Unbelievable0

20 Mar 2016 13:31:34
Disagree STB, maybe a couple of months ago yes, but not now. This new guy isn't like Bill. He's not likely to get all sentimental when the teams losing. And the only way he's going to see a return on his investment is to make us into a top 4 club. For that you need a top manager, and RM isn't.

Agree0 Disagree1

20 Mar 2016 15:14:53
You talk a lot of sense there Stef.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Mar 2016 15:36:42
Stef totally agree been saying it for months, but the Martinez brigade all want to keep him because we get a cup run together

I would happily swap cup semi for top 4.

We should of won league this year with team we got and the way it's gone, 24 points at home lost, never mind the games were we drew.

Martinez fans when is enough enough, top 6 to 12, we will finish bottom 6
Had enough, Bill your a fan and have always backed you, so as a fan explain why you are letting are club become a laughing stock.
No fan who has the power to change this would let it carry on.
Bill this will be on you mate.

Agree1 Disagree0

20 Mar 2016 11:48:48
Most supporters are very disillusioned with Martinez. I say to the supporters next home game organise a rally, write up placards mocking the words phenomenal inside goodison and pointing out our league position. If the board are not going to sack Martinez than we as supporters need to turn the heat up on them. It is unacceptable for our team to be where we are on the table. Winning the FA Cup to be honest should not save Martinez.

Believable4 Unbelievable2

20 Mar 2016 11:11:00
Martinez has ruined Everton for me. I used to go to the match, and if we won I was on top of the world, if we lost I would be in a bad mood all weekend. But every single match I would go to with optimism. Now, when we win, it's not exciting as I expect us to win most games, we have a good squad. If we lose, I also expect that, as Martinez is clueless. When you remove expectation, what are you left with? Complete apathy.

I haven't even checked the league position for a month, because it's irrelevant. With our inconsistencies there's no real reason to be worried about relegation, but nothing to look forward to. I continue to go to all of the home games, out of habit. I am going to the semi final but I genuinely don't believe we can win the FA Cup under Martinez, despite him winning it once before.

I have never felt like this about Everton before, not when I was a child watching Claus Thomsen, Mikael Madar and co. Not when I was watching defensive, boring (albeit effective) football under Moyes. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is the reason that Martinez needs to be sacked, irrespective of whether we win the cup or not.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - thats a sad indictment of how things are going for us at the moment tommy, but we will be back next season and hopefully with a new manager, new players and renewed hope mate..

20 Mar 2016 11:40:46
Ed who would you ideally (but realistically) like to see take over and who would you like them to buy?

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed025's Note - im a big fan of bielsa tommy and he would be available, pellegrini is also up for grabs and would be my second choice, mahrez would be good but not very likely and kante probably the same but if yarmalenko got his act together he could really improve that midfield, a new keeper is needed as well and frazer forster would be my pick mate..

20 Mar 2016 12:01:37
I have to agree with above, I'm more excited about Leicester and them winning than us. Sad but I don't look for Everton first at the moment it saves my wife getting a moody sod.
We have finally got our billionaire investment of sorts and yet I'm dreading the current future.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - chin up pauly, next season things will improve im sure..the futures bright..the futures blue..

20 Mar 2016 12:09:49
Even with Moshri and his investment, Bill is still at the helm and it would appear for now what he says goes, I admire his loyalty to Managers but sometimes he really does need to see the Wood.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Mar 2016 14:00:04
Wish I could be as optimistic as you Ed, I think it will take a time of transition for real success.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - we have a good squad of players here milomj and with proper coaching and organisation we can (with a couple of additions) hit the ground running next season mate..

20 Mar 2016 10:42:46
I for one WILL NOT be taking up my EARLYBIRD offer on season ticket. How incredible is that given a new billionaire owner .
The trouble is by the time that the board realise tbere is a reduction in sales at a time when you would expect with a new owner a increase vauable time will have gone by.
What has been suggested on a recent live stream is leaving at the end of the Norwich game, after all what have we to celebrate.
The board are as much to blame for allowing us to get into this position and if BK believes brown shoes is that good he must be deluded.
I am at the end of my tether, Newcastle , Liverpool and many otbers would not put up with this man as a manager.
ACTION IS NEEDED NOW by the supporters to highlight our anger . This is not a knee jerk reaction, I have said this throughout the season.
WE MUST TAKE ACTION NOW OF SOME SORT.
SUGGESTIONS PLEASE.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - i cant see the club taking any action before the end of the season to be honest trebor, they are aware of how the fans feel and bobbys position will be reviewed in the summer, but whether that will result in him losing his position im not sure mate..

20 Mar 2016 11:38:19
I understand completely how you feel trebor (If you read my post above you will understand that I myself have considered not renewing my season ticket after 9 years of going) . However now is not the time to be doing this. Realistically, Martinez position will be considered at the end of the season, and if they decide to keep him on, he will either have to adapt and improve, or he will be replaced. Our new investor won't stand for failure. I'm struggling, but we have to keep the faith.

Agree1 Disagree0

20 Mar 2016 12:50:54
Thanks for that Tommy but I agree with contributor above that while against my normal principles we should hold some form of protest before our next home game enougn is enough and I first had a seat in 1959 and this is the worst set of performances I have ever witnessed inc Walker.

Agree1 Disagree0

20 Mar 2016 10:13:18
I said a week or two back, that even if Martinez does win us the FA cup it should be thanks and goodbye. I am sick of this clown ruining my weekends. Just look at all the stats Everton have the worse this, the worse that, conceeded more goals than whoever and we've got the worse defensive record in the top 5 leagues in europe . Right I am no tactical genius but I like to think I know my football but can anyone explain to me, when your team is trailing by two goals to nil at half time you take a midfield player off (admittedly having a mare) and instead of replacing him with a forward we put on a centre half who goes into the backline of a defence who didn't have a clue what the hell was happening and what formation to play I just don't get that one at all. Who is our defensive coach? Dennis Lawrence is it? who had a great trophy laden career with! anyway is it any wonder Stubbs and Davey weir left the club. 8 games at home lost this season with 4 still to play another record looming to add to the Bobby bull cv. This clown is slowly strangling the life outta me and our club and it can't continue.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - our defensive record is very poor jimmy but im convinced its the set up of the team and not the defenders, individually they are very good players but as a unit an absolute shambles, the same can also be said of the midfield and its organisation which is made up of strong runners and tacklers who apart from barry lack the know how and tactical awareness to operate successfully mate..

20 Mar 2016 10:37:57
No Ed there not bad defenders at all, they are only playing to orders and tactics.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - and there in lies the problem jimmy..

20 Mar 2016 10:42:27
Exactly Ed025, that's what I said in the live feed towards the end of the game. I think my exact words were 'the way we play brings goals upon us'

Look at Pulis at West Brom or that type of manager. They have the team playing as a unit. Especially in defence. Pulis gets the best out of his players. All you have to do is listen to his comments after the game yesterday. I know they lost but if you heard him talk after their game then you know what I'm talking about.

There's no Bull from him. He simply said we've been playing well lately. Players have been playing to their maximum lately but today they weren't and that's why we lost. No excuses, no bull just talking good honest football. Pulis gets to the point and that interview epitomises what his number one objection is when taking over a team. Getting the best out of them and getting them to reach their potential. Can Martinez say he does that?

No school of science or giving out about the fans etc like Martinez.

Can Martinez say at any stage that Everton over the last 2 seasons went on a run that the team played to their potential? No, the form of the team is up and down like a yo-yo.

One statistic I think is very alarming for us. Seeing that the topic of conversation is letting in goals. Can anyone tell me what team conceded the most goals in the premiership without getting relegated?

Yep, you guessed it Wigan. The season before they went down. Martinez is breaking all the wrong records and as I said before goals wins games, conceding very little wins trophies.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Mar 2016 10:53:22
tactical awareness is a key word Ed025 you need this week in week out in the league a game plan and a back up plan, the problem is our limited success this year is down to cup games which are more an emotional battle over 90 minutes, let's face it two comparisons that we can judge our situation by according to the so called experts, under Moyes we overachieved but under Martinez we have underachieved, compare squads and results.
I can understand Everton are and have been a patient club with managers but that is about to change with the investment and new TV money, it is now limited time to make things happen as a premier league manager.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i agree with all that wakka mate..

20 Mar 2016 11:38:01
Agree wakka57. All Martinez has to do is change his tactics but he's too stubborn to do it because he thinks his way is the only way to play football. As someone said here his number 2 admitted there is no plan B.

Its sad because he built a good squad on the back of a good manager and everyone can see our squad doing better because everyone believes they are underachieving. It's totally down to Martinez style of play and tactics.

His stubbornness is going to get him the sack.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - his ineptitude will get him the sack NBTB, that is of course if the board agree with the rest of us mate...im not holding my breath though..

20 Mar 2016 14:00:16
They'll have to give in eventually Ed025. By the turn of the new year we'll have a new manager. I'm convinced of that.

Personally I'd let him go whenever the FA cup is over for us. I think Martinez will manage to get himself the sack before 2017. Doesn't matter what BK says or wants. The pressure will be far too big from the fans to keep him.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - very possibly mate..

20 Mar 2016 08:34:29
Ed can I post a pic, found something a Wigan fan posted a few years ago and you won't believe it, well you will but it's worth a look.

why we ever had martinez as manager in the beginning, kenwright and co. must of went in blinded by cup success. at wigan his stats were:played 175,won 51,draws 47,lost 77 a stat 0f 29.1%.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - he probably thought like me that with a far superior squad and top money to spend that he could excel dazza, sometimes things just dont work out how you expect mate, the guy certainly talks a good game but is tactically naive..

So Bobby thinks the game against Arsenal was a one off? I think losing 8 times at home with the best team/ squad we have had in a long time is worse than a one off! This dope has seriously lost the plot and we must get rid at the end of the season. It's no coincidence that 4 of the top 5 have the best defences in the league. No point being great attacking if you have to score 3 every game to have a chance of winning.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

19 Mar 2016 23:48:03
A strange game today. This has been the first game we didn't look like scoring in.

Besic seemed drunk today and way off the pace. Slow to react and his passing was awful.

The only player with any composure was Barkley and he was taken off. Everyone else were rushing passes and making stupid mistakes.

Lukaku didn't run into channels and went back to his pussy cats ways. Jags and Mori made poor decisions and McCarthy was his usual self - over committed then having to break his neck to make up for it.

Cleverly was largely anonymous and Lennon lacked any quality in the final third.

In saying all of that the pies were top quality and the beer was at perfect temperature today.
