been reading all the diffrent forams.but just wanted your opinons on a few things.firstly when we appionted roberto. wigan recieved a fee.also we have only signed arouna kona from wigan and met his buy out claus.alcaraz was out of contract and was a free agent and robles was at athletico when we signed him. the x everton manager let his contract run out so we got nothing.he also stated that alex ferguson summonsed him to old trafford and told him your going to be the new machester utd manager (his words) he quickly forgot about the 10 years support he recived. goodison chanting his name week in week out. and now the total lack of respect in regards to the baines, fellaini sagar.why don't we all totally forget he ever existed.and just hope are club deals with the transfer maters the best way they can.i would like to hear any coment good or bad. cheers.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Ok here goes.
Firstly, Moyes did s a great job for us.
Secondly, he is not our manager now, so he is doing his best for Utd.
Thirdly, offering money for players or managers at another club is normal. We do it. As per ex Wigan players. It's just about ambition of managers and players and more importantly. money.
Lastly, let's worry if we sell at those prices. If we do sell, we need to be sure we have replacements coming in.
Hope that answers my opinion.

Everton have to wise up over transfers. you only need a couple of good performances from Barkley and he is tapped up by the big spenders. improve his contract now.now, don't wait.how long does it take to resign Baines.his last contract was done without fuss. Martinez said on arrival we wants to reward our top
players like Baines so why the wait unless there is something we don't know about

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Lets just say I know for a fact that Ross Barkley will NOT do the dirty on Everton as he will be loyal for what they have done for him and his family.

Let's face it we have added more depth to our squad and it's now better and stronger, not because of the players but because we have Roberto who knows how to play football

Believable0 Unbelievable0

21 Aug 2013 18:00:20
He seems to have greater faith in the squad, Moyes had become myopic in his team selection. If Moyes was still in charge Barkley would be still out on loan.

Agree0 Disagree0

He knows nothing about defence, let in 250 goals over 3 seasons

oh shut up about defending, jagielka and distin are better than caldwell and figueroa they aren't going to forget how to defend overnight so shut up about it

Agree0 Disagree0

Jagielka did kind of look like he'd forgot how to defend against Norwich tbf

Agree0 Disagree0

I have to admit I'm a bit worried about the defense. It just keeps nagging away at me especially after the Norwich game, It's alright being a great defender but if your defending style doesn't fit into the type of style the team plays you will struggle. That being said it's very early days yet so I'll wait a while before getting over concerned. On the flip side though, we rarely kept a clean sheet last season either and could never hold on to a lead away from home.

Lads ins or outs doesn't matter, we are everton, mighty everton, get behind OUR club and support whoever comes in and if people leave then so be it. NO1 is bigger than our club.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thats all good but if we lose are 2 best players and don't replace them them you won't be so optimistic

Agree0 Disagree0

Good post. And to the negative guy if we sold both of them (we won't) we'd replace them otherwise Martinez would probably walk

Agree0 Disagree0

The to deadline day the harder and more expensive it gets to replace, I have supported everton to know that we could easily accept on transfer day and be bamboozled

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Aug 2013 12:19:04
if we don't have a replacement lined up if any sale goes through for baines or felli, we don't have to sell! if push came to shove and it was the last minute of transfer day and man u offered £60 Mill for the pair, do you think we would say 1) yes, but then save the money til january transfer window, or 2) Tell man u to get stuffed because we have no replacement. I'd prefer us to go with the latter, but £60Mill would be hard to turn down. Either way the ball is in our court. CraigHuytonBlue

you have to hand it to Levy at Spurs.he is obviously bringing in players now before the departure of Bale.
i can imagine him saying something like this
" come in Gaylen and have a seat"
for those of you too young to remember planet of the apes you will have to google it.
" I believe you want to go to Real Madrid?
well get this straight matey, you are going nowhere untill we have strenghened our squad so go and take your chin for a break and I will get back to you in a couple of weeks" As son of Jimmy Hill is leaving Levy shouts" and you can sulk all you want. I call the shots here not you"
I hope BK is equally strong and says to his opposite at Man u. " Listen mate these 2 are not going anywhere this window. You are taking the piss really. If you really want them then come back in January with £50 mill and we give it some serious thought.Otherwise don't insult us again" "oh and by the way tell the rat he is making himself look like the tosser most of us thought he was" {Ed025's Note - i like that ste..

What ya think boys, Rooney wants to leave and to be fair we're not a rival club and he wants to come back one day, so what about going for him on, loan. I would deffo

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Do you read previous posts? They state we would love him back - loan or permanent - but it WILL NOT happen.

Agree0 Disagree0

Loan is getting a possibility they can't sell to Chelsea it's prem suicide so he wants to leave so with the fellaini and baines deal looming kenwright just can't sell and bring in average players I think he knows the fans won't have it do you think bill would risk a season where fans really do turn on him no so I think a few things could happen with this

Utd have more chance of signing Ross Barkley for a tenner than Rooney going back to Everton this season. Sorry but this made me chuckle!

About Rooney
He is a quality player and I for one would welcome him back. Problem is that even if Utd paid part of his salary along with Nike and us, we do not have the world wide fan base at present to get the returns through shirt merchandising etc.
I wish I was wrong but to my mind that would be the reality.
Moyes has got 2 weeks to buy players. Chelsea want Rooney. Rooney apparently wants to leave. Moyes doesn't want Rooney to leave, well at least to another top prem club.
Moyes would be hated by Man U fans for selling him.

It all depends on who else Moyes has lined up to come in.
Moyes needs Marquee signings himself, Man U fans already starting to become restless at their lack of purchases.
They have a decent squad and RVP carried them ladt year. Lose him through injury and January is a long way away.

As for Felli and Baines we are in a very strong position to dictate. Low bids seem to be the new way of doing things. Unless things are rumbling on behind scenes I hope we keep our prized assets and concentrate on the football.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Why would nike pay his wages to play for everton, put the lid on that glue

Agree0 Disagree0

Nike will not contribute to any player's wages. We don't make any money from shirt sales. We get £3.1m per season regardless whether we sell one pair of kid's socks or 369 trillion adult shirts.

Agree0 Disagree0

Just before I put my top back on the glue, I was referring to previous posters comments that somehow Nike etc would contribute.

All deals can be negotiated and renegotiated but in general our club turn over is about 80 million so i'm lead to believe so it just shows that we don't have the structures in place.

Not to sound all doom and gloom but the face of football is changing and for whatever the reason we do not appear to be an attractive proposition to investors at this time.
I hope I am wrong but the billionaires appear to be putting their money toward lesser sides including league 1.

Agree0 Disagree0

Were do poeple get these fantasy ideas that a kit sponsor would fund a deal to go to let's face a less public club, poeple were saying this in jan with donovan, it dosnt happen and either will rooney whether he fancies a return or not, I would add to that the guy is in a sharp decline so although in your heart you would want him to come back score 30 goals and get us in the champs league he isn't that good

We have made our squad stronger but not made the team better. We have the same squad just better squad players from the ones who have left last season .

Why doesn't anyone invest in everton it's heart breaking we are being left behind. We have invested 6 mil thus season and that's it.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Awful stadium with no way of redeveloping or plans for a new one and of course were not in london which always helps

Agree0 Disagree0

It may be an awful stadium to you mate but it's the BEST in the Prem in my eyes
Andy The Chef

Agree0 Disagree0

Same as the post above. It's the stadium that's the stumbling block mate. Any would be investor wanting to buy us out would have to buy the club from Kenwright fund transfers and them build a new stadium. It's just not going to happen, we are too expensive to buy as stupid as that seems

Agree0 Disagree0

Listen andy il go sit in goodison for the next 50 years but that's the reason we are struggling for investment, half the ground has wooden seats still its 2013 for gods sake, we could of been in kings dock now I gurantee we would have been a better looking investment

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry mate but we don't own the ground, mortgaged out to Santander I think . Tried to build new hospitality suite a while ago and was chased by them .

Agree0 Disagree0

Ste, the ground is mortgaged to the prudential not Santander.

I know this could be bitter but hey i'm a blue its what we are but this is utter garbage

Manchester United have turned their attentions to Southampton's £10m-rated left-back Luke Shaw, 18, after being rebuffed in their pursuit of Everton's Leighton Baines

How can an 18 yo kid be worth 10m but the most consistent attacking lb who created most chances in europe (over every other player xavi iniesta etc) is only worth 12m? wtf? are we being deluded giving baines a high value or do the media yet again just hate everton an make out we are rubbish as usual

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Hey don't knock it if it means Leighton stays then the media can say he is worth twopence halfpenny as far as i'm concerned.

SA90

Agree0 Disagree0

Listen mate luke shaw is already showing is one the best left backs already, the fact he is 18 player like he's 25 is even better, I love baines at the moment he's the lb but he has 4 years maybe at the top, luke shaw has 15 years to improve, do the maths mate is simple

Agree0 Disagree0

Baines is old, Shaw is young. Shaw is, however, already playing at a top class level. Baines is worth more than £12m, Shaw is worth well, well more than £10m.

Agree0 Disagree0

Mate i'm not denying Luke Shaws ability I think the lad will be a brilliant player but he's had 1 year in the prem and his value is 10m baines is consistant plays every week very rarely injured an england international has all these great stats but is only 12m and the media think that's about right I just don't understand the logic in some of the crap that gets into the papers and on sky!

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Aug 2013 07:46:12
My problem with Man U behaviour in bidding for two of our most influential players.

United have had all summer two buy the players they have been knocked back in a bid for baines and they new the price for fella.

However on the eve of our first game of the season they offer a ridiculous bid for our players.

I excepted moyes going to united and on this page said he deserved it due to BK not being able to come up with funds for him. Even though moyes was the fourth highest paid manager in the prem.

I also think baines deserves playing in the chams league. He's 29yrs old been our best player puts his all in and 29 needs a big move to make sure financially he is set up for life he also wants to be the main one in the World Cup. If you think that Shaun wright Phillips is on 90k a week while baines earns 45k doesn't add up. I say 17-20 mil for him and good luck.

As for felli we have weak cm with piearnar and ozzy. When felli played and was up for it he could run the midfield of a game on his own. He would be a big loss and we would need two players to replace him.

Moyes hasn't had any consideration for his old club. It's not trying to buy them it's the timing I have an issue with.

Lets hope it doesn't disrupte RM to much.

Onwards and upwards We are Everton!

baines is 28 not 29 and financially set up for life? jesus 45k a week isn't enough to live on then what about people with no jobs on 90 quid a week may aswell just throw them out the country they have no chance if baines can't even make it on 45k a week grow up mate I want baines to stay and who do you love more baines or everton? you must be a fool if you want him to go to be 'set for life'

Barry loan
Rooney loan
Alderweld 6
Chantome 10
McCarthy 15

I do really have a sneaky feelin Rooney mite be coming back .

Believable0 Unbelievable0

How can I put this down for you?
ROONEY IS NOT COMING BACK!

Agree0 Disagree0

Although I agree that Rooney coming back is highly unlikely, it's not impossible. Moyes has been very vocal on the fact he is not for sale, and selling to Chelsea could be a mistake moyes never recovers from if Chelsea then won the league. But what about a loan deal? Rooney seems hell bent on leaving them. If he did come to us for a season, moyes saves face by not selling him, and he's coming to a team who are not going to challenge for the title (yet) but can do damage to Man Utds title rivals. Surely we could find his wages for one season? Blue Lee

Agree0 Disagree0

Id be more likely to put a bet on nothing happening than all that, RM comes out and says the window should be shut when the games start and he hates doing business then, yet you think there's 3 out and 5 in, that makes sense ha

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Aug 2013 02:30:20
love the hate that Manchester United fans currently have towards us, they have an attitude that they shouldn't even be looking at everton players in the first place and because they think they should be going after more prestigous clubs players its killing them, to add to that there bid was publically laughed at and they have been told there wasting there time now has made it worse.

man utd fans are also under the illushion that there's bank manager with an over due bill standing outside goodison waiting for money, its clear were not desperate for money so therefore we can dictate the price e.t.c as we don't want to sell the players in the first place, I just hope that if we do sell either one or both of them its not a day before the transfer window as its slim pickings now to replace them

MikedeBlue

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Man Utd face the reality that nobody wants to join them.

They have been usurped by several clubs now:
Man City, Chelsea, PSG, Bayern, Dortmand, Madrid, Barca and even Monaco.

AND, coming up behind them are Juventus, AC and Inter.

I think all the people going on about the TV Money and how we are not spending it are missing the point.

Every team got TV money therefore nothing has changed, we will bid for players but it will be later In the window to avoid being outbid by richer clubs.

Being outbid by someone by 2million makes no difference if we can afford 4million or 12million the richer club will still have 2million more.

As for the likes of Cardiff Norwich and Southampton they are trying to get to where we are or stay up!

Unfortunately for Everton to progress we need a higher calibre of player and these are harder to find within our budget.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

21 Aug 2013 01:55:33
If the lads are sold it will be 'undisclosed' so we will never know . I just hope its sorted fast, we've all suspected this for a long time, typically Everton, and as usual we'll fight back

Wish these 2 players. Baines & Fellaini, would actually just go public and announce that they are both proud to play for Everton FC, and DO NOT want to move from the Club. Fans of Everton have been fans all our lives, not just for the length of a 3/4 year contract and then we support someone else!! I have stated on here before that Fellaini should realise how lucky he is to be playing for our great Club and that £70,000 per week is more than enough for anyone to live on.most Blues fans are probably on Benefits or having to borrow the money each time we have a home game, and it would take 10 years in Benefits etc, to equal what Fellaini earns in that week. Also he has supposedly stated that he wants "his dream move to Man Utd"? According to his Father for the last 2 years or so, Fellaini wants his "dream move to Chelsea"? Even Baines should have the decency to state he doesn't want to move & then Everton can move on and strenghthen the team with some top quality additions. which I think in turn would show any potential investors/buyers that we are no longer a selling club and have serious ambitions of our own about maybe winning the Title, . instead of just hoping every season that we might make one of the Uefa Cup places. we have won the Title before and we should be more positive about trying to win it again, instead of accepting that we are not in the same street as City, Utd, Chelsea etc. Money helps in this league in a big way, but it is not the be all and end all. attitude and belief and talent is what's required, and a manager who truly believes he can build a team with the backing of his Board, to challenge for ALL the Major Honours. Our Game of football only seems to be about the players and how much they can earn, the Fans do not matter anymore, and the people who are buying the Clubs these days are not really football fans they are business men.come on Blues, give us something to shout about, believe that you ARE good enough!
Street End Boy {Ed025's Note - love that post mate..

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Good post but in this day and age it is impossible for a player or a club to come out with the sort of bold statement that we all wish they would.
Baines can not come out and say I love everton I will be here forever, this is down to the fact that if he ever was sold (maybe we need funds to stay afloat, or he has a big fall out with someone) the comment would come back to haunt him.
The club can not say not for sale at any price as that simply would not be true, the Liverpool owner was a mug for saying it because if a club came in with 100mill for Suarez he would be gone and then what, your statement looks ridiculous.
Everton can say offers are insulting, we are not looking to sell etc but if someone came in and said 40 million just for Fellaini of course we accept and it would be wrong to decline the offer imo.
So they have to tread so carefully as do players as they don't want to be a hated by a potential new clubs fans or their old clubs fans for saying something which didn't happen. Rafa Benitez last season is a perfect example, people don't forget these statements and they will haunt, just ask Davey Moyes and the Everton don't sell cheap comments that is going to hurt him right now

Agree0 Disagree0

OP - while I agree with much of what you wrote I am puzzled by the following section: "most Blues fans are probably on Benefits or having to borrow the money each time we have a home game, and it would take 10 years in Benefits etc, to equal what Fellaini earns in that week".

Sounds to me like you have been listening to too many songs from away fans!

EmployedBLUE

Agree0 Disagree0

Have to agree with Svenny on this, the way football is run at the moment is all about what you can get out of the game. For players its difficult, the only way a player could say "I will only play for one club" is if he has a contract that lasts until he retires. IMO both Baines and Felli have been loyal to EFC I have not heard them say they want to go and looking at how they have been playing it looks to me like they would be happy to stay. I think the World Cup has come at a great time for us as IMO players will be focused on trying to get into their respective national squads so playing regular 1st team football is important. I am not sure if a player in a national squad would look for a move knowing that he may not be a regular starter as it may well effect his standing within the national team.
