Revenge is on the cards I would rather play Chelsea at Goodson I know are form is bad at home but the fans will get right behind them and make it hard for them but the players will be right up for it, beat them 3-0 in prem we have nothing to fear in fa cup we will want this far more than them we out classed them at Stamford bridge to, one of palace or reading in semi, let's hope hull of Watford do Arsenal drawn at home for two years there run is going to end, I defo don't fear Utd or West Ham here is to a Everton v Watford final semi will be Everton v palace and Watford v West Ham.

That draw has left me with a difficult decision, do I use the M40 or the M1 to Wembley. 21 years waiting I feel is coming to an end. This year my fellow blues we will win the FA Cup. We will beat Palace in the semis before beating West Ham in the final.

Big match against Chelsea they seem to be playing well at the moment. One game at a time bluegray we will need to play far better than yesterday evening to get through. Revenge for cup final defeat would b nice 😄.

Don't worry Dunc remember 95 and how the spurs v utd final was the dream final, we all know what happened there. The likes if us palace west ham and watford will look at this as a big chance of silverware and be able to play without fear as the so called underdogs.

Think the ref dodged a bullet there.
If he had of given a red I hate to think how our fans would have reacted.
But considering the hand did not prevent a goal a pen was the right decision.

No complaints about that. A settled composed performance from back to front. Still not a fan of the lone strker role as Rom looks isolated and it's easy for teams to nullify. 1 game away from the Wembley so that's the incentive there. Joel again looked composed and came for crosses in and around his 6 yard box. All in all happy with the win and hoefully we can kick on.

I agree rom needs a partner up front then we will freighten defenders to death.

Agree1 Disagree0

21 Feb 2016 11:08:07
I agree with both. Is it not possible that that's why Niasse was signed?

If he turns out to be as good as he looks on youtube and he clicks with Rom they both would be a handful for any team in the premiership. Come to think of it they'd both be a handful for any team in Europe provided they gel well together.

21 Feb 2016 11:45:25
Re only one striker all on bbc pannel could not understand what WE all know give Lu support and balls for him to run on to, RM was dling that for a while and behold Lu went on a scoring spree now RM has returned to the sideways passing, just HOPE RM WATCHED MOTD AND LISTENS TO THE EXPERTS.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Feb 2016 11:59:58
Thats why I feel we would benefit from a wing back formation of 3-4-3 as it has the 2 either side in say Lennon/ Gerry and Niasse/ Mirallas of Rom offering the support and giving the opposition something to think about rather than just doubling up on Rom. A system like this probably would have seen us hit west brom with 4 maybe more goals. that's what frustrates me about Martinez he is set in his ways of a 4-5-1 but the balance isn't there. Only have to look at spurs to see that this system works well.

Agree1 Disagree0

21 Feb 2016 12:52:21
I honestly think rom could do with a rest. He's played all season with the added pressure that he's our main goal threat. Lennon is a good player and gives us more balance, however, when del plays rom looks like a different player as he gets quality ball into him early, only downside is he doesn't defend to well.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Feb 2016 13:16:18
I reckon RM has done exactly that (been listening watching the pundits) and also perhaps listening to his advisers. I hope he does start adopting two up front at home with Mirallas and Lennon or Del Boy and Lennon. Failing that get a Sports Psychologist in for our home games. It is baffling how the exact same Team can play so well away from home but crap at home it really is.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - its the pressure DM, if we are not 2 up after 10 mins the groaning brigade come into full swing and the players feel it..

21 Feb 2016 15:37:57
I think good players should be able to deal with the pressure though.

Agree0 Disagree0

I wish people would wake up, Man City, Leicester, Arsenal, Man Utd, Spurs, Liverpool, Southampton, West Ham, in fact practically every team in the Premier League plays 4 2 3 1, but why are fans so convinced that we should play 2 up front, and if we play 2 up front does that mean we should drop Barkley, that sure seems like a great idea!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - Leicester play 2 up top. Liverpool often play a variant of 2 up as well. City regularly play with 2 up.}

21 Feb 2016 18:09:16
Man City play Aguero up top with Toure or Silva behind, Leicester play Vardy up top with Okazaki behind and Liverpool play Benteke up front with Firminio behind, none of them play 2 out and out forwards, the same as us with Rom up top with Barkley behind.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - Aguero have played Sterling alongside Aguero a few times. Okazaki plays up top, not in midfield, they play two up. Liverpool do not even play Benteke, so no idea where that nonsense came from. Clearly you need to watch the teams more before making ignorant comments. Leicester are a 4-4-2 side without a shadow of a doubt. Citeh pick and choose. Liverpool play Firmino off Sturridge, now Sturridge is fit. Barkley is in midfield, a good ten yards further back.}

21 Feb 2016 18:20:21
Ok ed 1 ignorant commment? Sturridge has only just come back fit, so Benteke or Firminio up front, with someone behind, and if you think Sterling is a forward then I think you might need to watch football closer.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - Benteke has not been first choice under Klopp, he has been on the bench. Please do not talk about stuff you clearly have no idea about. You are not doing yourself any favours as you can't even read, I never said Sterling was a forward, though he is, I am guessing you mean striker though, which is different. You might want to watch some football before gobbing off. Sterling often played as a striker under Bodgers, he has been used as one by Pellegrini a number of times as well. I guess you are just one of those who thinks they always knows best when they just go off media morons quotes and never gets to watch the games. I have been watching Sterling since he was at QPR, you clearly have never seen the lad play, judging by your comments. Either that or you have no idea what a forward is, which is very likely judging by your ill informed comments so far.}

21 Feb 2016 18:22:07
Also if you think Barkley plays in midfield you have been watching a different Everton to me.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I am thinking you are not watching any football at all, looking at the comments you are making. You clearly have no tactical knowledge whatsoever.}

21 Feb 2016 19:02:35
Why has this suddenly got into a slagging match? I was mearly expressing an opinion which you have now turned into a personal attack?
Man City play Aguero up top with a 3 of Sterling, Silva, Toure, does that make them forwards.
Everton play Lukaku up front with Lennon, Barkley and Cleverley behind, if you read the above posts that was what this original discussion was about.
Liverpool play with Benteke or Firminio as it has been recently with 3 behind them
Arsenal Giroud up front with 3 behind.
Man Uts play with Rooney up top with 3 behind.
Correct me if I'm wrong but I think you were missing the point I was making and splitting hairs on the use of the word Forward.
As I said none of these clubs play two out and out strikers which is the point I was making.
Also for your information I am a season ticket holder and am capable of forming my own opinions about football which is why I don't buy into the Martinez out drivel.

Agree1 Disagree0

21 Feb 2016 21:27:05
If Barkley is playing just of Lukaku I need to get glasses because being 15 yards behind him is not offering support and clearly all the professional pundits are wrong too. I also stated spurs as my example of how a 3-4-3 can and is successful. Enlighten me on Roberto's flexibility in tactics and game changing decisions from the season so far? Oh and city tend to use a 3 prong attack a lot with aguero sterling and de bruyne not a lone striker formation.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Feb 2016 08:34:06
I think if you read my post again I said 1 up top with 3 behind, so if Ross is not playing there where is he playing, certainly not in midfield because as everyone seems to point out he can't tackle, doesn't track back etc.
If we play 3 4 3 who do we drop? Or conversely who do we pick.
I am not saying its not a good idea just not sure who would play.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Feb 2016 09:09:24
Also not wanting to be argumentative, but wanting to put my opinion across, Danny Kelly (Spurs fan) was on the radio this morning explaining why Spurs lost, and he put it down to Eric Dier having to play in the centre of defence as opposed to the holding midfielder that he has played all season, because Vertonghen was out and there other centre half was out with an injury sustained from Connor Wickham, so who are the 3 at the back Spurs have been playing.
I think it was suggested on Match Of The Day the other week that the full backs get forward and Dier fills in to cover but isn't that what Barry does for us?
Spurs appear to line up 4 2 3 1 with fullbacks pushing on.
Also I'm sure if Eric Dier goes to the Euros with England it will be as a holding midfielder not as a Centre Half.
So still not sure who the 3 are at the back for Spurs.

We'd have probably lost that game at home because the boo boys would have been causing a fuss and adding pressure to the players.

Can we not play away every week, please!?
