Use our rumours form to send us everton transfer rumours.

I really don't know what people were expecting in the transfer window. I did a post a while back showing that our beloved club worked by running a "tight ship". In Walter Smiths reign, he managed to buy and sell players to the point of break even.

In David Moyes' era, he managed to actually make 11 million profit by selling more than he spent. So far Martinez has spent 40 million more than he has recouped. I know we got the increased Sky money last year, but it is obvious to me that the money has been going into other areas in our club.

I can only think that is either as wages or perhaps back to the people who "invested" originally. Make your own minds up. It is also obvious to me that Martinez will have to sell in order to buy.

Makes a lot of sense what you say there Degsypulford. Our squad is good. Even the depth is decent. If Martinez would play Mirallas, Joel and even Naismith before he left more.

The wages bill I would imagine went up a lot over the last 2 years anyway. There was a lot of improved contracts for the likes of Mirallas, McCarthy and Stones I think. Martinez did in fairness ensure the important players were tied down to long term contracts to ensure we had the upper hand in the negotiating of any possible transfer.

Came at the small price of bigger wages for some players. In the summer there are a good few players with contracts expiring. So I'd expect a lot of activity over the summer.

Most of players with contracts expiring are very close to retiring but their wages will surely free up some for new players.

We would be doing extremely well to keep the best 15 players at the club for the 2016/ 17 season. New additions would be very welcome. But to keep our best players is more important imho.

We have always paid wages right up to are limit, obviously the new deal has give us space to increase it but we're in tge same boat as every other prem team in theory were in the exact same position.

a massive priority is new investment or selling the club, it has been run as a tight ship to make it a financially viable asset. Bearing in mind that a large part of any investment will be a new ground or at the very least redevelopment. we have employed managers that can work within strict budgets but continue to develop the squad, I believe we have a strong squad and financial constraints will mean we will continue to buy and develop these players ultimately as they become better they will seek opportunities to win trophies and play in the CL.
In a recent interview Byram sited the reasons behind the choice to go to West Ham as an opportunity to play in a new stadium, family loyalties and to play for a big club, yes that is disturbing!
I just hope we can get this investment soon before our top players do move on significantly weakening our club!
I don't expect much to happen in this window even the top clubs do not transfer marquee players at this point in the season.

oh well that's it then lads may aswell forget any transfer rumours seeing as the only 2 we have been linked with won't happen byrem gone to west ham {not botherd anyway} and lenko not going anywhere {wud not have come to us anway} see you all in the summer when more non transfers will happen.

I'd say it will be a busy summer for us. a lot of players out of contract then. Maybe that's why they are holding out. Would do very well to hold onto all the players we have.

As long as we don't sell any of our best players like Stones, Barkley and Lukaku it doesn't bother me too much if we don't sign anyone else.

i"m with you nbtb if we don't buy its no big deal are squad is big enough I think but if we can hang on to the 3 you named then that will do me,as for lenko I am not to bothered about him because if mirrales can get his head right it will be like a new player as he hasint played hardly all season if robbie drops him again for saturday then that might be the last straw for kevin. it will for me anyway. we all know that robbie loves giving players a rest even if they don't want it and then there's besic he may decide to rest him aswell and what will that do to mo" thinking. rest play, rest play, rest play,it must sapp the players belief.

Finally thank you bluepaul. Thank god there's others who aren't fixated on bloody Yarmolenko.

Also agree with all the other stuff you say bluepaul.

Think we have done ok and there is still plenty of time yet, Byram gone to the hammers not the end of the world not tried and tested in our league yet and could be his downfall also reports of Yarmelenko wanting to go to a bigger club is there such a thing? Got the feeling he would wind the players up anyway. Credit where it's due RM can spot a good player and sure something is in place and once he sorts his game management out quids in. He will get it right the one day the Spanish git.

this is my best eleven.

defenders: robles, coleman, stones, jags, baines

midfeild: mirraless, besic, barry, delboy

forwards: ross just behind rom

subs: howard, lennon, cleverly, mcarthy, galloway, rodriguz, mori.

that's a good starting eleven and good bench and would give anyone a game. i have included rodriguz because I have heard good reports on him so let's see what he can do he is not a kid so what's to lose then if it don't work put robrto"s love child kone back in.

You won't be surprised NBTB to see that I do not agree with soldier Blues last lines. Moyes also spotted and brought through good young talent the difference being, we consistently finished top 8, this bloke talks a good game and now that is being found out for the waffle it is, he is now blaming anything and everyone as long as it is not him. We had/ have potentially one of the best defensive units in the Premiership yet through intransigence, ignorance, stubbornness or just plain inability he has managed to turn them into a level of impotency normally reserved for men of much greater age.

So what do you disagree with? that when he spotted Del boy he wasn't a talent or Mo Besic or fought tooth and nail to land Lakaku. And as I stated when he sorts his game management out we will all be happy.

Baron Grantchester is not a member of the club's board of directors. The board comprises Bill Kenwright, Jon Woods, Robert Earl and Robert Elstone. The first three own around 68% of the shares between them. The remaining 32% are held by various other shareholders. I'm not sure how many shares - if any - are still held by Baron Grantchester, but, as he's not on the board, I don't think he has any obligation to invest.

Im not sure about how many shares he got sid, just heard same thing bout it off a few older blues (50s-60s) .

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - Grantchester is definitely one of the major shareholders, along with Earl and Elstone. Those 3 have the biggest amounts of shares, unless he has been selling them within the last few months, but I have not heard anything to suggest there have been any sold.}

The Liverpool Echo reported the following at the end of last year when the American takeover was mooted.

"Everton chairman Bill Kenwright is currently the club’s main shareholder, owning just over a quarter of the Blues with 9,044 shares.
That 26% is closely followed by US-based businessman Robert Earl, who owns his equity in the club through BCR Sports in the British Virgin Islands.
The former Hard Rock cafe president, and Planet Hollywood founder, bought his shares from Paul Gregg and his family in 2006, and now has 8,146 of them, equivalent to 23%.
Next comes boyhood fan and computer entertainment boss Jon Woods, with 6,622 shares, or 19%, who is said to live 40 minutes from Goodison Park.
The businessman has a personal legacy with the Blues, with one of his ancestors loaning Everton £1,000 in 1892 to build the original stadium stand.
Lord Grantchester, the grandson of Sir John Moores, has 2,773 shares (8.5%) while Arthur Abercromby, a former director and investor in True Blue Holdings - who took the majority shareholding of Everton in 2000 when Kenwright’s consortium took over from predecessor Peter Johnson - owns 1,935 shares (5.5%) .
Former Everton chairman Sir Philip Carter, who died, aged 87, in April, had owned 714 shares, around two per cent, with Clifford Finch, Johnson’s commercial director, registered with 250, just 0.6%.
Keith Tamlin, Nigel Holland, Jimmy Mulville have 120, 115 and 115 shares respectively. The remaining 4,600 are held by minor shareholders.
Many of those own between one and five.
True Blue Holdings was dissolved in 2004 after Everton’s plans to move from Goodison to King’s Dock ended.
The current market value of an Everton share is £1,350, with people able to buy one by either approaching a stockbroking company or through a member of the club itself. "

Ed001: are you sure that Elstone is one of the major shareholders?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - no, my mistake I meant the 3 he mentioned are the major shareholders, except for Elstone, with Grantchester being the other major shareholder. Sorry I should have checked back, some of the typing didn't come through and I never read it back to remove errors.}

21 Jan 2016 17:59:54
Looks to me kenwright and co are after as much as they can get out of the club before they sell Everton lukaku 65 million Barkley 50 million stones 45million and now we've sold Naismith thought that was when we was buying yarmalenko lies lies and more lies.

So the top 20 rich list come out today an were 18th in the world so why ain't we spending some of that money on top class players, were desperate for a top left winger a top keeper an another top striker, only winning 1 game in the prem since November the 21st were be lucky to keep are top player in the summer,

Believable0 Unbelievable1

21 Jan 2016 15:38:33
I agree we will be lucky to keep top players in the summer.

However there are very few players out there available that would improve our first 11. No point buying players for the sake of it.

I totally agree with the attitude to buy young players and try and develop them. Also maybe saving some money for a deposit for a stadium? Making the accounts look more attractive to potential buyers?

Last 2 sentences there I'm just guessing.

Winning one game since November makes no difference I am afraid. Wigan (even though relegated) and now us just don't seem to lay any blame at RM's feet, he is simply the messiah. Forgotten now the promises of Champions League etc! but hey we will see and I promise I for one will not be saying 'I told you so'.

I think players values are part of the process of the rich list, to say we're 18th is based on squad because are spending power is miles away from most.

. the owner of Dinamo Kiev has come out and told Everton to forget about signing Yarmalenko in January as they want hi for their Champions league games as they are still in the competition. the news just gets better done it. what a start to the new year for Efc - no new signings (as of yet) , no takeover, can't win a league game, last second equalizing goals. Ed mate, I've chucked my shoe laces in the bin! ;)

Alleluia! Hope this puts an end to all this Yarmolenko talk.

Seriously we are starting to look desperate all this talk and hoping he signs for us. Focus on someone else. He's one player a drop in the ocean.

Cheer up Zackiii, things not that bad. We haven't fully turned into Wigan yet 😄 Although it looks like Martinez is trying his best 😏.

Finally seen Everton v Chelsea game last night. Was interested to see a few things from what was reported after the game.

Mirallas, O my god! Ok, yes he done well and scored a great goal. But if I was him I wouldn't be bragging about how well I played. He missed a goal which I think he should have scored. For the record I'd rather see Mirallas starting and hope to see him Del boy, and Barkley in midfield for the next game.

I defended Stones on here before for playing with the ball near the goals. He still has to learn when not to do this.

Also Costa looked like the Hulk standing beside Oviedo.

I'm in the Caribbean enjoying life at the moment. Will be tuning in at 9:30 on Sunday here to watch the Swansea game.

I think Emmanuel eboue might be worth a punt on a short term contract, currently a free agent and would provide some experienced cover at least until Coleman is back.

We brought in Felipe Mattioni a few months ago on a contract until the end of the season to give us cover at right back. There's a question-mark about his actual readiness to play in our first team, especially as his loan spell at Doncaster Rovers (which I imagine was to get him match-fit and give him competitive game-time) was curtailed by injury.
