Man Utd are going to ignore Fellaini's birthday and keep their fingers crossed.

Been hearing a lot of rumours about Rodwell coming back not good enough in my opinion going backwards if u ask me. But I would take Charlie Austin from QPR what you think ed?
If we sign a striker from championship, its got to be Rhodes. He is more prolific over past 3 seasons compared to Austin.

Hi all, Just watched the final of the Under 17, s, great to see the two Everton lads both score a penalty each, Ledson with the opener and Kenny with the winner in the shoot out victory over the Dutch. Have to say watched most of the England games in this tournament only to see how R.Ledson & J.J.Kenny would perform. Really impress with both, Ledson Centre Mid is very comfortable on the ball with a good range of passes and a good engine, future 1st teamer, got to say just as impressed by Kenny Right back, very like Seamus Coleman loves to get forward with some great crosses and scored a good goal earlier in the tournament as well as the winning penalty tonight and the man of the match award. Two lads with a really bright future in the Everton 1st team in the next 18 months. All tough by no means an English fan, being Irish, always an Everton fan, congratulations to the 2 boys.
Dero totally agree.they both looked the part to me

Just throw this one out there, would anyone have Moussa Dembele from Tottenham? Seems to have fallen out of favour there. Personally I'd have him, strong, quick and keeps the play ticking.
21 May 2014 21:04:54
I watched a lot of fulham games before he went to spurs and I never really watched him, before they played man u, I kept my eye on him and wow, works hard, very fast and powerful, glides past people with ease and can run all day, impressed me ever since, won't be cheap though because of levy
Would be a good signing but there new manager can't be as clueless as the last two though so it's hard to see him still not getting a game
I would have dembele in a second
Cracking player and would be ideal if Barry deal goes west.

Someone please tell me this Rodwell rumour is false it just won't go away. For god sake we need to steer well clear of players like this he won't last the preseason without getting injured and with all the games we have next season it will be just a waste of time and money having him back.Yes he has ability but his injuries have stop his development and we are a team that can't afford any more injury prone players come on Roberto open your eyes our injury list was huge last season we don't need players like this he can't last 3 matches without his hamstring going god help us.
21 May 2014 21:17:45
Ive spoken about him too death, I just don't get it, stays away from the ball so he doesn't have to take part, jogs around like a headless chicken, range of passing is a fantastic 5 yards, sideways, slides in once a game and that's him done, people say 'future centre back for us!', based on what? He played their as a kid, so what? Hibbert played in the no 10 role as a kid, sell ross and play hibbo there because yenno, why not, rodwell should only be brought back for 2 reasons, 1.city are paying us to take him and will pay his wages for the rest of his career or 2.the medical staff will be bored when bryan, arouna and gibbo are fit, he will keep them occupied for 6 years, before retiring at the age of 29 due to having no hamstrings left, he was the first and the worst really, poor player, should only be bought to avoid cleverley
Disagree it's injuries have ruined his career, not ability. He had plenty of that.
21 May 2014 23:53:12
Did he now
Now now boys. let's not get heated. As a youngster he DID show promise. Then the hamstring injuries kept stopping his progress. Remember the goal against Man Utd? To sum up, I would say he is worth a fraction of what we sold him for and ONLY if our medical staff put him through the strictest medical test ever. Even then I would have my doubts. I would like to see him in training and playing a few games.
Don't want him either. Even if he wasn't injury prone. He has never influenced a game for me.
Listen, we got 12 million for him. We proper pulled citehs pants down on that deal. Move on

Currently watching England U17 game. Very impressed with Roberts the Fulham lad. i'm sure he came on against us near the end of the season. He is definitely worth a cheeky bid to see if we could get him.
21 May 2014 21:01:21
His right foot is just for standing, doesn't use it and he tries to beat everyone, same with armstrong, pair of them were greedy and do the same thing, sprint, cut in, try to squeeze between 2 players and then lose it, woot, woot, both still have plenty of time to develop though

I hope we start practicing set pieces before next season. Our field play has been exceptional. Our set pieces (other than direct free kicks) has been abysmal. The top 4 clubs regularly score from corners. Our delivery of corners has been terrible. Apparently RM was quoted as saying that we do not practice corners? I would say if we scored another 7 or 8 goals per season from corners, we would be very successful. This could mean an extra 10 - 15 points. I am sure RM has this in hand.
Agree Degs especially corners.
Corners where shocking, Delefeou and to a lesser extent Mirralas can't hit a corner to save there lives. Baines should be on corner duty
21 May 2014 23:52:37
Gibbo takes great corners and gets good pace on them, mcgeady floats them in, both very useful methods, everyone else hits them outswinging which means our players have to run in or generate the power themselves, it is an issue which needs solving
Exactly. I am sure RM has it in hand. It will make a BIG difference next season.especially with all the penalties we will get now refs know we do not dive like some teams! Wait a minute. it's time to wake up.

Martinez says our signings will go right up until the last seconds of deadline day so I wouldn't be expecting a flurry anytime soon tbh. Maybe one or two but I think it's going to be a slow summer to start with especially with the world cup
21 May 2014 13:18:34
Any1 else seen duffy's interview?, I'm sure he says when asked about his season " erm yeah it been good it f*uckin* good " h that can't be what he says but that's what it sounds like.
He says it been good for him I believe as question was what the experience of first team football like
21 May 2014 13:03:23
Hope we sign defour and batshuayi wound cost that much only about 11-12 mil
Not sure about Defour tbh. I'll probably get slated for that comment but I just don't think he's what we need

Which youngsters do people think martinez will use in the europa next season? I think browning, garbutt and ledson are guaranteed to play games but who else? I think mcaleny should go or if not, needs to be brought into the first team, he's nearly 23, kennedy may get a chance but I hope to see john lundstram and conor grant get chances, lundstram looks boss and grant is rated highly by martinez, also maybe just maybe we will FINALLY see george get a game, its killing me this counting the seasons until we can see him, I know he doesn't have a position yet but please, its a real tease hearing about him yet I've seen him play maybe once or twice, who else do people think will be given a chance? And who would you give a chance?
Chris Long for me
been capped by England at u16 through to u20 and needs to break into our first team
Also like to see Stephen Kinsella get a run in the team, not heard much since we signed him
21 May 2014 14:44:39
Hes 15 mate
21 May 2014 14:45:43
And hasn't joined yet, he joins in july
Ok didn't know he was that young but if all that we have heard is true then he has a fair chance of making his debut next season and breaking Baxter's record for us
Conor grant and ryan ledson for me

Just a quick question. What would you guys prefer to do with the tv money coming in. 1) Pay off the clubs dept making us dept free, making us more attractive to investors etc. or 2) use the money to buy players, pay bigger wages, making us more competitive on the field? What do you think?
{Ed025's Note - a bit of both for me revs..
We won't become attractive to new investors until we get a new stadium. So it's new players for me.
The sooner Everton can clear their debt the better. I think it would be preferable over the long term to spend more on the debt than transfers. It's just judging how much more.
Pay the debt off. If we were in the black and turning over even a slight profit we would be more attractive to potential investors. Top poster is right though, without a new stadium investment is highly unlikely
The debt is being paid off at agreed rates. It is manageable and is not impacting on the club.
If you put £10 mil off it, it won't make any difference to what we are paying back anyway. the only way for it to be positive would be to clear the whole lot off which we can't afford to do.
Success on the pitch though and hit top 4 would bring in potentially £70 mil (realistically £50 mil), make us more attractive to buyers being in the CL and would create more investors for our new stadium.
Invest in players.

Hi Ed and fellow blues.
Now that the Europhria of Robertos 1st season is dwindling, I just hope. w that we are not going to be left feeling dissapointed in this transfer window.
I just hope we are not held to ransom by clubs, reps and players.
I think Barry owes Everton. I really do. I hope he won't be too greedy.
I'd like to see more lightening pace in our team so hopefully the balance will be right.
{Ed025's Note - Barry has stated that his future will not be decided by money, but purely football reasons AW, which gives us a great chance..
I hope he does sign Ed. He fitted into the squad very well and I hope he enjoyed his time and football enough under Roberto to want to sign a permanent deal.
We have a heavy season coming and Roberto would have seen the demands it placed upon Swansea throughout season.
If we want to surge onward we will need a powerful squad with depth in every position which will cost, but isn't this the price of progress Ed?
{Ed025's Note - it certainly is AW, I see it being a numbers game to be honest, I don't want us to compromise our league status for Europa league progression though, fighting on 4 fronts is not going to be easy, so in the early throws of the Europa I would like to see a few youngsters used, along with fringe players and a mixture of first teamers..
