Roy vernon, but I went on to like a cig, a bet, and a drink, so maybe it was not such a great role model, still a great player, and I'm a reformed character.

Just a quick thought lol. We should of won at Swansea in double figures but at least we're creating chances. I would be worried if we wasn't creating, and on that thought should we give hennan and leandro and few minutes like 15-20 against wba and lfc. You never know big games can make a player just a thought ed

{Ed025's Note - i would prefer to do it at reading pb, the derby atmosphere might be a bit too much at this stage mate..

Ye I know what ye mean, but can you imagine big Duncan saying to them score or have a good game in the derby and the crowd will love you. But ye reading first. I would love one of them to come on and score and go on to be brilliant it's what dreams are made of. Big Duncan got his first goal I think when he signed permanent against them. Oh well come on lol

I've been lucky as an Evertonian, born at the right time and tasted success as a boy and man. I've seen us win the League, FA Cup, even in Europe but this League Cup does my head in. Each year top teams get drawn against each other early on and a pathway seems to open up for a lesser side to get to the final. We've been close a few times but not for ages and all to often we go out unexpectedly early as we muck about with team selection in the early rounds.
This year there can be no excuse. After Reading no game until next Monday, so nobody needs a rest other than Barry who is one game a week max. So what team do we pick? We should be brushing the likes of Reading aside home or away.
Personally I wouldn't mess too much with the defence as we already have two young kids in there. You forget Stones is a kid too as he is class. I would play Jags and also Howard for this reason. Robles was better last year but only after a run of games and I think Galloway and Browning will be better with a few old heads around them.
We don't need two defensive midfielders. I'd play McCarthy and Barkley. Lennon and Del wide,
plus Naismith and Lukaku who ought to play and find the net again soon as I am getting fed up being too loyal with him in my fantasy team. Would like to see the Uruguay lad get a run out as sub too
Convincing win for me, but we've been in this sort of fixture before and the team will be nothing like the one I have picked.

{Ed025's Note - i like that team tedster, but i think i might give jags a blow and play mori from the start..

We played well yesterday. The back 4 was spotless, midfield brought the ball forward, and the frontline just couldn't finish.

And playing with the third string fullbacks, we did well.

We appeared to be the better team, spent a good bit of time in the 2nd half pushing crosses through the Swans box. The Swans walked away with a point they may not have deserved.

My point: the last few years Everton has won a few games and a few draws when being outplayed. Now we're the better team getting the short end of the result.

The team is improved, the tactics are improving. Ross is getting more aggressive. This season may exceed our expectations.

Stay positive folks.

Also been reading a little from the Red side of things. Does anyone think someone will rent a play with the trailing banner saying "Brenda out now!!"?

Whod'a thought RM would outlast Brenda at the end of last season.
