A bit of a blow not to Kevin and Gareth availble for the upcoming Man C match? I wonder what RM has in mind? Who is going to fit Gareths "Mr Consistency" boots for this cracker of an upcoming match? Anyone with thoughts? Of course, I'm not forgetting the all important Southampton game where we will not have Kevin but options are availble for this one. May I just ask. Dare we think that 78 points is available? What a finish, what a season if that happens. It's already a rare season and listening to my Manc colleagues willow on about their troubles makes me only to think ~ thank heavens we have the RM!

How far is Gibbo off Ed

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - he is back in training murph, but its doubtful that we will see anything of him this season mate.

22 Apr 2014 21:46:21
ED I dunno about you but I have noticed a real positivity around transfers now back when we had the ginger gollum we where worried about whether a player would fit or if he was right for us but now under bobby everybody is like well if he's good enough for bobby he is good enough for me.

COYB

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - thats because of bobbys positivity PP, he makes us believe that what he is dong is correct for the club mate, he is such a positive person..

Right can anybody shed any light on why we have not been snapped up by an big investor, or now we are knocking on the top four door is it all about to change? any views pls.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Kenwright doesn't want to sell. I can't go in to how I know this as the last time I did that I was threatened with legal action from the parties mentioned, ( not to be sued as my info was accurate but for giving too much info on him and his families where abouts) bottom line there is no buyer because there is not a seller

Agree0 Disagree0

I think it is due to the fact the right buyer has not came along yet.Bill has got to sell at some point as he can not compete with all the Money men in the league which he openly admitted, we need investment badly especially if this new Stadium is going to be built it is the only way forward in the long run at the moment Martinez can work his magic but at some point the club will have to seriously back him financially if we are to compete for Cl football, as you all can see it's getting harder and harder every year to get into the top 4 the points tally is getting higher every year I believe he will sell but only to the right people.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Apr 2014 07:59:35
there must be new investment, as I stated a few days ago Blues, Baines was convinced to stay, apparently turning down big offers for Barkley, new stadium on the horizon and a few bob to spend in the summer, I know most of it was from previous sales but it looks to me like there is investment from somewhere, maybe announce something at the end of the season.

This is just what I think by the way

Agree0 Disagree0

Svenny your right mate for the past few years people have been saying we are for sale even bill kenwright says its for sale but I have said just because he says we are for sale don't mean we are I think if we was for sale we would of been snapped up by now look at fullham sold in a matter of two months Aston villa will be taken over within three months by two billionaires we have bin in and around the top seven for the last five years so I really believe if we were for sale it would of happened way before now

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Apr 2014 22:41:09
We may well be for sale but there are a number of things holding back the sale of our beloved club.
1. Stadium
2. Debt
3. Cost of club to cost of other clubs for sale
4. Cost of club to true value of the club
5. Bill wants to stay on the board of directors
6. Bill just wants investment
7. Not all of our assets are our own (finch farm)
8. Where is the club actively advertised for sale? Or any other club for that matter. Do prospective buyers just pick up the business equivalent of your move to see what companies are for sale?
9. Location (not London or Birmingham or Manchester based)
10. History. Not past but present, I have been away on holiday and not only foreigners, but brits ask what team my everton shirt is, when I tell them they ask. "Where in the uk is that".

"If anyone wanted to leave Everton, they'd be the poorer for it. Most people that have left here, it's not tended to work out for them." David Moyes, April 2010

Let's leave the Moyes chat now blues, non of our business and the man said it himself 4 years ago.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Well said Svenny, let sleeping dogs lie. The man's history, both at GP and OT. He had his chance and blew it and it was all his own choice.

Mirrallas out until the end of the season.

Gutted, put in a great shift on Sunday and could do with his pace against city.

Guess we'll have to do with the step over, although McGeadys been looking good.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Needs to be more consistent though doc

Agree0 Disagree0

Perhaps this is gueyes chance. jk

Big loss. Didn't realise that. Gutted. He was spectacular on Sunday

Ed, what would you think of going for Hernandez. I reckon we could get him cheap ( somewhere between 6-10m) he is still a good striker it's just Moyes had no faith in him. A fresh start is what he needs. I also think going for Batshuayi would be another option with a loan signing in Atsu with one more midfielder another replacement for Osman who is getting on now. Also get one more for defends to replace Dustin. What are the status of our upcoming talent. If we make champions league I think our young talent are not up to the CL level so someone with CL experience would be essential.

{Ed025's Note - im not a massive hernandez fan EB, good coming off the bench, but poor when he starts, and we have 4 very good CD,s mate, and duffy as a stand in, so i think other positions will be filled first..

Lol bless ya, u think u could get him cheap, why exactly? Hernandez when and if sold will be out of your price range! And no we will not be loaning him ;-)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - personally CTR i dont want him, good man to bring off a bench, but as a starter..nah..if he cant get in to your mediocre side, how the hell will he get into ours!..so thanks but no thanks mate..

Well said ed lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Think we should go in with a 2 mill bid and when it gets rejected bobby can come out and criticise Manchester United for holding his career back lol

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - good thinking dentie..

Chris think you will find there will be a big clear out at your mid table club soon so a lot of your players will be off and looking at what i've watched this season the championship would turn there noses up pal.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would not want Hernandez. He has been contempt to sit on Utd's bench for the past 5 years or so instead of moving to another club and progressing as a player. When times are tough, he's not the type of player you can look towards to pick up the mantle and carry the team. In my opinion, he doesn't have the correct characteristics to be an Everton player. Also, Ed raised a very valid point; he would never get a game ahead of Naismith, Lukaku etc.

Agree0 Disagree0

Not a rumour as such just my thoughts on good transfers for the summer. Our squad will need beefing up considerably if we are to maintain our league performances next season. We're in the best financial position we have been for a while + new Prem money + Money saved by loaning, but I still don't feel chucking £25+mil at 1 player would be the Ideal solution. I might be wrong?

What do you think of my ideal selections:

FREE's
Mame Diouf - Hannover - Wages should be fine and looking a very good player now
Jack Colback - Good backup / replacement for barry
Gareth Barry - Wages could be a problem but he seems to fit the bill
Phil Bardsley - cover for coleman - leader

Loans
Gezza Dela - One more year if possible, loved the guy at times this season and we need more cover in those areas
Thorgan Hazard - Having a great season in Belgium, possible loan to buy option

Buys
Josip Drmic - £8mil - Looks quality great age for martinez to teach the football masterclass
Michy Batshuayi - £8mil - As Above
Bolasie - 5m? I think this guy could become a top premier league player. His pace and control are frightening.

Outs
Pienaar - Not sure what's happened but he's on big wages for some1 who is never in the squad
Lukaku - Shame but I've based this list on him not coming

I'll probably get smashed for some of these but we will need at least another 7 players, that's 9 including those two outgoing players

Only one of those players is over 30 and many are under 25.

Oviedo will be like a new signing as well.

I am really excited about the future as I'm sure we all are.

Leon EFC

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - well i certainly am leon...by the way, you never mentioned cleverley mate!,, :)

Your right and I have been one of Clev's largest Critics but if. No what am I saying. Championship player

Agree0 Disagree0

U will struggle to be in the mix for top 6 next season mate :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - you wish...enjoy your exile mate...it could be a while before your back...hopefully.. :)

Go back to your own page red pretty sad comments to be fair

Agree0 Disagree0

If we going to stuggle god knows where you lot will end up. You lot say we going to sign this and that as if its your divine right to get who you want.your as appealing as moysie in a beauty pagent.:)

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't understand why people keep picking Coalback even if he is free, he struggles to get into a poor Sunderland team so why we would want him even as back up poor player, Ki maybe?

Agree0 Disagree0

I think T, Browning will be back up to Coleman next season. Matinez says he has been impressed by him and thinks he is ready to come into the squad.

Agree0 Disagree0

Obviously I understand everything is a matter of opinion, but I personally think that Colback is worth a punt. No, he's not going to set the world alight but he would make a great addition to the squad as a free player. He is versatile and would be fine to play 15-20 games a season, against lower PL teams after travelling around Europe.

Barry is a must, providing his wage demands aren't ridiculous. I think that Lukaku should be our number one priority. But failing getting him I'm not sold on Batshuayi. I think that 8 mil is a lot of money to risk on a player unproven in the PL. Arsenal and Spurs can afford to waste money on a gamble, we unfortunately do not have that luxury.

Agree with the original posters loan ideas, would be great if we can get either or both of those, not sure I'd bother with Bardsley, would rather bring a youngster through. Don't rate Bolasie, had a good game against us though, and any player with pace will always cause trouble I suppose.

Wouldn't write Pienaar off just yet, I agree his wages are slightly high but I think he's useful cover and he's only looking a bit stale next to the 3 far quicker wingers we have. A move behind the striker as cover for Barkley may suit him?!

Depending on the fitness/performance of Distin and Jags I'd be tempted to just promote Tyias Browning as cover for both CB and RB (as Bobby said he is one for next season).

My major priorities would be a young pacy winger, even if it's on loan, 2 defensive mid and I would spend most money on a striker and get a back up on loan. I really hope Roberto pulls a rabbit out of the hat and signs an unknown who turns out to be class, but either way I trust him. COYB

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with the free deals, maybe leaving out Bardsley but would be decent cover. I would also take Lescott on a free.

I would take deulefou again. We could do with another winger, possibly Ince. I would love Griezeman but want to stay realistic.

I would like M'Vila also and maybe Rodwell on loan with view to make permenant.

I would like Lukaku, but he gets lost sometimes and his ball control needs improving. I would want to sign Bony and Remy as an alternative.
But it is hard without knowing if we will be aprticipating in the CL next season.

I would like to firstly say that I will never ever as an Everton fan/supporter never have bagged David Moyes. My reason is simple. He got our club to a place of stability. We played European Football. We got classy players, we got team unity and we enjoyed our run with Moyes. I was sad to see him go but always thought he could not get us any further. Unfortunately when he went to Man U he knew the problems he had and of course tried to poach Baines and co. Now they all refused except for Fellaini( get to him in a moment). Martinez did the same with Wigan when he came to Everton. Alcaraz, McCartney and Kone. So I don't blame him for having a crack. Now to Fellaini and his old man. Fellaini went from a loved player at Everton to a nothing at Man United. He and his old man held Everton to ransom and wanted out. As far as I am concerned Fellaini has gotten everything he deserves and more. He must be thinking to himself WHY!. The one good news about Moyes being sacked is they will leave the Everton Players alone.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Good post Aussie, I am with you I don't hold any particular grudge against Moyes I thought he was a great EFC manager and always did what he thought was best for the club. I am greatful for what he acheved but agree he had probably taken us as far as he could. Unfortunately the way he left could have been handled a lot better. He was always going to try to get what he thought were our best players as any manager would do. He also asked some of his staff to go with him and they did, but we don't here any moaning about that, this may be due to the fact that a lot of us did not really rate some of the people to go. Taking his backroom staff with him was IMO his biggest mistake. As for Fellani I think we did well out of the deal more so than he ever will. let's also not forget that DM got the best out of Fellani and if it was not for that we would not have got anywhere near £27m reported fee. I honestly don't think Robbie would have been able to improve him as a defensive centre mid so I think we got the better deal. IMO although we did not get any compensation for Moyes him buying Fellani more than makes up for that. The sad thing about (well IMO) is that Moyes never really got a decent crack at his dream job. The good thing for us is that Robbie had a great foundation on which to build and so far he is doing a good job improving the team. let's hope the board back him in the summer. COYB

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah mate but don't forget that Alcaraz was out of contract, we paid the asking price of 6 mill in Kone's contract and gave Wigan a fair offer of 13 mill for McCartney. That's hardly what I call derisory - unlike the bids that came in throughout last summer for Baines and Fellaini. Plus when did you hear of Bobby suggesting that Wigan were holding McCarthy's career back despite the fact that he started the season in the Championship?
What goes round, comes round. I think Leighton Baines must be the most relieved player this afternoon. Pity the same can't be said of the one with the big barnet, who succumbed to temptation and took the poisoned challice which is Old Trafford.
Seamus, I hope you read this and take note.

Agree0 Disagree0

Moyes was always going to man u.he let his contract run out and we got nothing in coppo for him. the grass is not always green on the other side.can see him ending up at newcastle.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think newcastle would be a good place for him. Thy are a good team with some good players but are far too inconsistant, and well Moyes is Mr. Stability.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think in the summer Bobby needs to address the shortage of goals in midfield, Cleverly has been linked with us this morning hope it's a joke! Would like to see 2 attack minded midfielders and a striker if the funds are available.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

However poorly a player is regarded by a sizeable group of fans, I'll support anyone that Roberto Martinez considers is good enough to bring into our squad.
I'll cheer on everyone that is given the honour and privilege of wearing the royal blue shirt and represents our club on the field of play.
So far, in my humble opinion, RM's transfer dealings - both in and out - at Everton have been pretty good. Long may he continue to strengthen our squad and be able to select teams containing quality players that are totally committed to our club and can deliver expansive, effective, entertaining - and winning - football.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - im with you sid..

22 Apr 2014 11:49:47
Im with you too Sid, if he sees something in Cleverley then that will do for me

Agree0 Disagree0

Cleverly must have something he has been at united for a few years now I think he would be a good addition to our team

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - hmmmm..

22 Apr 2014 13:52:53
i love roberto and I love everton, but cleverley is too far, he is the worst footballer I have ever seen, roberto cannot possibly see anything, talentless and a joke of a player, what a laughing stock we will be, I really hope thid is just the papers chatting wham, god forbid that disgrace ever wears and everton shirt

Agree0 Disagree0

You hope buying Clevs is a joke. Take that back Sunny. Clevs is the metronome, one of only a few players in world football who could go into any team and look world class.

Zidane named him as the best player he has ever seen.

Xavi said he wished he could dictate a game as good as Clevs.

Iniesta said his one regret was not getting to play alongside Clevs.

They can't all be wrong can they?

Agree0 Disagree0

I am not Cleverly's biggest fan but Martinez know's the lad better than any of us.His poor form at united could of been down to a lack of confidence.Similar to Barkleys form under Moyes. Some managers can get the best out of players so I will have to trust Roberto on this one.I'd rather he spent his money elsewhere though!.

Agree0 Disagree0

To me cleverley is like jordon henderson and the red s. are know saying he is vital to there team. any thoughts on this.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - im not a fan richie, i think he was vital to the demise of united this season mate..

22 Apr 2014 08:59:03
I want Everton to concentrate on ourselves for a change. Forget about Moyes he's gone, Forget about the rubbish winning the League. We are Everton and were going to the champions League.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - your right sunny, all posts about moyes will be on the "other posts" page..

22 Apr 2014 07:57:32
Ed, how much would Saints look for if they sold Lallana? Also, is there even a slim chance of Everton signing him in the Summer? What a player he is, would be a perfect replacement for Pienaar in my eyes.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - hes a great player BB, but i cant see us getting him mate, there are a lot of far richer clubs after him, but i think he will stay at southampton myself, if he were to leave, i would expect a fee of at least £30m would be needed..

Cheers for that Ed. I probably wouldn't fork out that much for him to be honest, £20 million max.

Am I actually seeing a debate over whether people would rather finish 5th or 4th.? Isn't the answer (4th) obvious.?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Totally Tony. 4th must be the aim until it's mathematically impossible. If it's 5th or 6th, then it's still a European place.

If you had to pick which 6 players to join Everton Fc next season which off the following 6 would you pick from below.

Balazs Dzsudzsak
Michy Batshuayi
Alexandre Lacazette
Romelu Lukaku
Bruno Martins Indi

Griezmann (quality winger)
Dzsudzsak (another good winger)
Batshuayi/Lacazette (attacking options)
Astori/Indi (defensive options)
Barry/Fernando (CDM options)
