I'd have pellegrini all day long . anyone with he's experience has got to be a plus . we have funds now and we need a top manager who can motivate the best squad we have for a long time . i'm off to Wembley soon so I know we are not happy but let's get behind our team COYB.

You all know I have said my fair share on here recently and I have had the heartache of my son regretting his decision to sell his ticket and also had to endure the ridiculous offers to replace it to no avail so I am really really exhausted!
I hope I can offer ALL us blues some hope here when I say this,
I truly believe we are going to go down there and win!
I haven't felt so confident about us for a long time but I can't remember a team EVER losing 2 domestic cup semi finals in the same season and we all know RM was one jammy B at Wigan!
Have heart lads, I know it's really hard but I am telling you, we will win tomorrow
Good luck to all the boys who are going down there and sing ya ****ing hearts out lads because WE ARE EVERTON FC x.

Well said, we cannot surely be as bad as on Wednesday and win or lose as long as they fight for the shirt then most on here will be satisfied.
Those travelling deserve commitment and courage from whoever he selects.

22 Apr 2016 22:05:26
Ha deffo, just does my head in Ed that I'm taking my 3 boys for their first Wembley outing and because of that fraud in charge they have mentioned what's in their picnic all night but said nothing about the footy.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - love it longy...you and the boys have a great time..whatever the result mate..

22 Apr 2016 21:16:45
I think with Bill in charge we are limited as to who we can have as manager if RM is to be relieved of his duties I done think he could control handle call it what you like but I don't think he has the personality to control a big name manager like JM or the likes I think with Bill in charge we will always get a yes man like RM so in my eyes bill needs to step down and let someone with a backbone take control before are club is run into the ground which we are not that far off at the moment.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - i think you make a fair point there skylark, but i hope moshiri will be a different kettle of fish mate..

22 Apr 2016 21:36:11
And just how long will we have to wait until moshiri takes control because until then we are in grave danger.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - not that long skylark, he will have a massive say on the new incumbent as he will be manager in his tenure mate..

22 Apr 2016 20:30:37
Good luck tomorrow Gents.

Despite your results, you are a proper proper club.

What time are we all setting off tomorrow lads? I'm going down in a car and we're setting off at 10 but I'm not sure whether that's enough time.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - you should be ok jo, but there will be heavy traffic so i think a bit earlier would be better mate..

22 Apr 2016 20:38:03
Joe stop off at Corley services on m6 if you do it's half way point. When we drive back to Liverpool that's half way mate.

Id wager that those who are calling for Moyes' re-appointment (if Martinez is sacked) a man who after 10+ years with us said that we were holding good players back, are the same ones who would never consider Rafa Benitez for the job, when he said that we were a small club.

Long story short. Moyes = No tah, lad.

Believable5 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - a man after my own heart hugo..

22 Apr 2016 20:09:07
Short answer yes I would I would have Benitez but I would have him after Pelligrini, Moyes, Mourinio, I may have my facts wrong but I don't think Benitez has managed on little or no resources.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Apr 2016 20:39:37
Your first choice, Ed?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - pellegrini hugo, then bielsa...then our milkman..then david cameron, then any mass murderer...then moyes.. :)

22 Apr 2016 21:29:24
Love it Ed, mate, same here.

Agree0 Disagree1

23 Apr 2016 00:28:55
Like it Ed, although I would swap Cameron and the mass murderer around. Cameron would be like replacing one bull S###er for another, at least the mass murderer option would motivate the lazy sods to play with more effort.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - thats my biggest bug bear you know wedge, i will have players who lack great skill but not players who dont give their all, its disrespective to the supporters and after the money some lay out each week to follow the team just not on mate..

22 Apr 2016 22:51:27
Good one that, Ed! Heard betting companies are giving 3/ 1 odds on the ghost of Ted Bundy being our next manager, so you might get lucky!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - well our confidence and team spirit have been victims this season hugo so i might put a few bob on that mate.. :)

To state the obvious, Roberto Martinez is a dead man walking as Everton manager.
When he joined us, I was pleased - and even more so after his first season - but his second and third seasons have shown us going backwards, so he must be replaced.
By the time that David Moyes left, I had become disenchanted with his "knife to a gunfight" attitude. I was also very unhappy with the manner of how he left. However, I'd be content to see him come back and use the new investment to ensure he's no longer outgunned in matches against the wealthier sides.
I've no idea if DM would prove himself a winner second time around - and my initial backing for RM shows how poor my judgement is (! ) - but he'd surely do better with the players available to him than RM has these last two years.
Having said that, I'd be content with most of the other "names" being touted for Everton manager. I clearly don't know enough to be sure who'd be best for Everton.
What I no longer want - even with FA Cup success - is for RM to be kept on for next season.

Believable4 Unbelievable1

22 Apr 2016 18:34:20
With money Moyes can win things and get us to Champs league, last time he did as well as could under the financial restraints he had.
He was my choice when Smith was sacked and is my choice now, it will take a couple of years to rebuild so give this great manager time, he is very underated by blue fans.

Agree1 Disagree2

22 Apr 2016 19:24:42
I'm not sure how many people who post on here go to the game but the booing was there for Moyes most home games as well.

People used to scream at him for his constant defensive substitutions and him settling for draws instead of trying for the win.

That didn't change at his next two clubs and the reason he didn't win enough and got sacked. Twice.

He also couldn't attract players at Man United when he had money and before you say Mata, this was only because he was hated by Mourinho. If we put a bid in for him at the time we probably could have got him. He was desperate to leave.

We need new blood at the club. Not the dour Moyes who is defensive to the extreme or a Martinez who is the total opposite. We need someone who has bread winners and can also attract them.

{Ed025's Note - im with you john..

22 Apr 2016 19:42:21
Where you at Moysey's last game John? Have you looked at his league finishing positions and he did it with a net profit on transfares a great over achiever.
You sound like a bitter blue because he went to Man United, I bet you hate Rooney to.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - listen guys..we dont do 1 to 1 arguments on here. you have both had your say now drop it please...cheers..

22 Apr 2016 19:58:24
Sorry to appear like Ed002 but the guy is a realist and by inclination so am I, my take on the Martinez situation is that it will take something far more catastrophic than an 11th place finish and two semi-final appearances to shift him. I like many others would like him gone but perhaps the board have fallen for the waffle of this is a Team in transition.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Apr 2016 21:29:08
Like everything in history Moyes has had his stint did fantastic and left us to move on, that failed as did his next venture, he is destined for Celtic, please do not try and turn the clock back it does not work! It didn't for the great Howard Kendall it will not for Moyes even with £100m.
Move on and look forward Not back!
There are loads of potentials out there please please open your eyes and your minds and stop being so insular, not Big Dunc not Rhino the world is full of talent let's discover it as so many other clubs do!

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i like your way of thinking wakka mate..

22 Apr 2016 17:46:43
How can we keep calling ourselves the peoples club if I board keep putting blind faith in Martinez, when it's so overwhelming that us supporters, us 'the people', are deeply upset with what is going on at our club? Never for a moment did I think we could head down the road of big clubs falling from grace, but the longer this goes on the more those thoughts enter my head. Don't let us go down the road of Villa, Leeds and too many others to name.

22 Apr 2016 15:11:46
I dissagree. As much as I loved as a player, I didn't see him making much of a difference on Wednesday night. He just sat there waiting for something to happen. How I would have loved him to get up out of his seat and give the players a snarl to get them going.

But nothing happened.

Not for me BB. Just because you're an icon at the club doesn't mean you can be a good manager.
Look at Stuart Pearce and Alan Shearer, legends at Forest and Newcastle but not good managers.
Maybe in a few years once he's shown if he can do it but I don't think he's ready yet.

Agree1 Disagree0

22 Apr 2016 17:34:08
To be fair to Dunc by all accounts he's done good things since becoming a coach at the club. I would put any blame anywhere other than at Martinez's door.

For me I would prefer David to be put in charge until the end of the season but move Dunc up to assistant. Anyone that Martinez has brought with him I would put in the taxi with him.

Considering he has been helping the forwards and this has been an area that hasn't been a problem until the loss of confidence in the team.

For me that fact Unsy has been managing the U21's and not been coaching defensive duties and this Lawrence guy has been is utterly ludicrous.

I wonder if he has any input or if Stubbs did when he was U21's.

Our display is nothing to do with Big Dunc but Lukakus emergence as a potent threat (when he gets the service) is. Should have brought Weir/ Stubbs back in as defensive coaches and everything would have been okay. Roberto is supposedly a nice man and I cannot dispute or agree with that but as a Manager in the Premiership his 7 years have been a failure. Anyway roll on tomorrow and hope for a miracle.

A quick question if I may Eds and apologies if it's been asked before.
Do the club use this and similar sites/ forums to gauge the mood, attitde and opinions of the fans?
Thanks.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Some clubs do monitor such matters - how the club is seen by the media, social media perception, forums like this, etc.. I am not aware if Everton do it but certainly quite a number of the EPL sides do. I have shown this site to several managers, players and ex-players over the years.}

JCW .

Talks cheap mate! me I would settle for BK getting rid of the biggest threat to our club in a generation!

Then after an in depth meeting with certain shareholder (s) appoint a world class pragmatic manager who along with knowhow in K. O. football, can actually strategically plan and identify reqired tactics for the PL etc.

Agree3 Disagree0

22 Apr 2016 14:04:54
Sorry but Bill was solely responsible for the appointment.
He drew up a short list of one an appointed him.

Agree0 Disagree1

22 Apr 2016 15:41:12
He didn't publish details of every conversation he might have had with other possible managers. That doesn't mean he had a shortlist of one. Having said that, I agree that, it appears he was taken in by Bobby's bull and didn't look at the wider picture.

Agree2 Disagree0

22 Apr 2016 16:52:16

Koeman the man for me only one left of his contract says waiting until end season to make decision on future people will say why would he leave Southampton for us but he will have a big budget at Everton if we believe what we are being told not much chance of that at the saints every manager wants to test themselves what's your thoughts ed.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - Koeman won't be joining Everton.}

22 Apr 2016 11:16:48
How can you be sure who are your top 3 then.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Two other clubs want Koeman next summer - and he is aware of that. I have explained who I think Everton will be interested in should they decide to make a change - you need to look through the posts.}

22 Apr 2016 11:26:58
Ed do you no something we don't how can you say that when koeman has said nothing you are entitled to your opinion like the rest of us but you no no more than the rest if iam wrong tell us your source.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Ok - Mourinho and Koeman it is then.}

22 Apr 2016 11:47:21
So you admit yo have no idea who it maybe I never mentioned mourinio because he is a unrealistic target but koeman defiantly is you think we should be in for clement who was sacked by derby next you will be telling us we will be lucky to get Bruce mclaren or alladyce if you carnt be positive ed don't say nothing.

Agree1 Disagree4

{Ed002's Note - Firstly, Everton has a manager. Should that change I have explained in detail what some of the likely options are. Perhaps you could find someone to read those posts to you slowly. Clearly you know nothing whatsoever of any potential candidates. It is nothing to do with being positive or not - I am simply telling you what I know. If you don't like it - don't read anything with Ed002 next to it and don't than embarrass yourself by bleating and moaning like some prepubescent schoolgirl.}

22 Apr 2016 14:57:11
Bit out of order ed002 people are just interested to find things out so we apologise for asking the same question more once but we all want the same thing and that's a new manager or a winning team again which ever comes first.

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea what you are talking about Konehead.}

To degsy and coyb never in the history of football have sothhampton been a better proposition than everton football club no matter how much money they haveThey have finished higher than us for 2 seasons due to bad mamagment how many times in the last 10 years have they finished higher than us . We to have new investment which will enable us to move forward . They have low attendances and crap away support while we have decent gates and sell out are away ends everywhere we go we are a much bigger brand than them we actually have a history . plus the intensity in a footballing city like ours with local rivals makes us a great prospect for a manager who wants to build something . you will be telling me next that Leicester are a better club than man utd city an Chelsea. would like to no if I am the only blue who thinks this.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

22 Apr 2016 11:18:07
I agree.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Apr 2016 14:59:11
You're ignoring the fact that the guy is already in position at Southampton. I haven't claimed that they are bigger or better than us. Faced with a choice between us and Southampton two years ago, when he left Feyenoord, I would have expected him to choose Everton. Now, he's in a job where he's built a reputation that will potentially land him an even bigger job next year. To come to us he would have to tie himself in to a 3-5 year contract, move his family (and staff he wants to bring with their families - his brother is a coach at Southampton) to the other end of the country, start again getting to know people, systems, players, club managers and directors, get involved (hopefully) with plans for a new stadium, etc. For what? We used to win trophies back in the day? We have more fans? It's not worth it for him. He's better placed to further his career by staying till the end of his contract with them rather than start again at a club with obvious problems. Southampton are not bigger or better - it's just that we're not that much of a better prospect for him at this time.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Apr 2016 16:51:22
Coyb, he inherited a good setup from pochettio who moved while stil under contract so koeman hasn't built all himself. his strengths are getting the best from his players something Rm can't do. As for moving his family what kind of argument is that we will be looking at managers from all over the place who all have families who what have to move any manager coming in will want at least a 3 year contract so that's no different to anyone . The guy has 1 year on his contract why should we not try and steal a march on our rivals and get in first. tell us who you think we should go for?

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Apr 2016 08:00:24
I'm aware that koeman had a great setup inherited from Pochettino. Still, he's done well enough from that point that we're agreed he would be a good appointment for Everton. My point is that for him, the move is not enough of a step up to justify the disruption to him and his family when he already knows there well be better offers next year: clubs who can almost guarantee European football every year with big fan bases just like us. However optimistic we all are about our new investor, we can't promise Europe and certainly not champs league. There will still be at least 6 clubs able to outspend us for the foreseeable future and we have to factor in the cost of a new ground when all of those 6 are ahead of us on that. I've said several times that my choice would be Lucien Favre, who did amazing things at Monchengladbach or Gourvennec from Guingamp. I would love Mourinho, Simeone, Allegri, Emery, Pochettino, Bilic or Koeman but they're unrealistic targets for us. I have real doubts about Pellegrini even if we could get him: his teams - like us - are too open. We need to look for the up and coming Klopp or Allegri - someone with hunger, vision, good technical knowledge and who is looking for a project to make their mark.

Looking for the greener grass on the other side, your daughter will have a great 18th Birthday, pride will be restored at Wembley, forget the league, players are simply not playing for Bobby, but just wait and see a different Everton Tomorrow.

Whatever happens on Saturday, I'd like to see RM big enough to resign saying he's not good enough to lead Everton, not that he ever was.

Won't happen.

Is it bad that a few of the players are coming out defending RM? Would the board see this and not want to risk squad harmony?

Squad Harmony Hugo?
This idiots produced an entire squad of gutless, spineless whimps and what the hell if they don't like him being sacked then they know where the exit door is.
ALL OF THEM IN THE BLOODY COMFORT ZONE! No wonder they support him.
Sorry Hugo rant over, it just hit a raw nerve mate!

Sad thing is he will not get the sack mate, but if and a big if, we would get Moyes, that would be a step backwards, Bill likes yes men, Mourinho and Bill would never work, Bills moto, I AM KING.

Here's a puzzler, imagine if RM had got us top 4-5 every season and European football and had been deemed a good successful manager, then Barcelona come calling, do you think he would give us a second thought while packing his bags to go?

What manager would stay. It's the biggest job in club football. The great HK did exactly that with a lesser Spanish club after winning the league.

To my knowledge and I offer my apologies to the man if I am wrong but I don't think Mr Martinez ever admitted he was responsible for taking Wigan down. That said he walked out (we even paid Wigan compensation) on Wigan for us, no doubt he would walk out on us for Barcelona. Having said that if his current record is not enough for Everton's board to ask for his resignation then what is.

is there a better manager than moyes to replace martinez? not many. i'd go for benitez if newcastle was relegated (that hurts) , but moyes is a good choice.

Would agree dazzling. My thought on Benitez originally were a definite NO, for reason referring to Everton as a small club years ago. My feelings have changed and worth considering.

To add, Someone earlier listed 10 players expected to be leaving this summer by being out of contract or transfer. Whoever comes in will need a very large transfer chest to attract the quality needed or to promote from within. Is Benitez a manager to give youth a chance, as I can't remember what he did at Liverpool.

We won't have to worry about money to spen this summer. Without Moshiri we were sitting on 100 million. Add to that his promise of player investment add to that player trading if those quoted as leaving do leave it won't be on the cheap. So with those three combined I think the club can afford to ring fence enough to replace and build with good quality.

I think the biggest problem will be getting the right manager.

I think he will stay until the end of the season regardless of what happens on Saturday. Let's face it, he can't do anymore damage can he? Well, only to our blood pressure! As you said Degs, no news is good news and the silence speaks volumes. He knows he is going IMO.

I would think one reason he has not been sacked by now is that if they loose in the semi and had been sacked, then some supporters would turn on the board for sacking him at that time. If they do loose with him in charge then can justify more for sacking. If they win then can say their decision was justified. A case of who takes the blame.
