what's going on ed should of signed besic by now are we even interested in him are we going to sign this kid from Belgium or will this drag on for a few weeks I posted last transfer window why does it take everton so long to sign players .

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - besic and henen are targets KH, there are problems with besic,s permit due to him having dual nationality mate, to be fair, bobby did tell us all that things would be done late, now i know its frustrating, but we will just have to grin and bear it im afraid..

22 Jul 2014 23:22:00
because there is no money at the club mate

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - thats just a guess swan, and an un-educated one at that mate..

We'll see

Agree0 Disagree0

Tut tut Ed,putting Swan and uneducated in the same sentence, shame on you.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - not him BC mate...just his guess..

Ah I know Ed I'm just teasing,it helps with the boredom of waiting for a signing:)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - thats ok mate..so am i.. :)

I agree with swan, I know poeple think that due to this 1 year of extra tv money and with the felli money that's not been spent( makes me laugh everytime I see that written) that all of a sudden we have 45m burning a hole, its not realistic if you go on previous years spends I mean we do still owe like 50m and run close to a negative shortfall or I'm I missing something

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - we do, like most clubs operate at a loss mike, last i seen was about £5m per season, this is not nearly as much as most clubs though, and with the increase in sky money we are able to compete for players who have been out of our range in the past..

Even if the extra money means we can reduce the debt I doubt the bank would allow us to starting greatly overspending in terms of wages as we are always near the top end of the budget, it is frustrating to wonder why an established top 6 team is out spent year in year out, I always think back to the kings dock and think what could have been

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i know hindsight is a great thing mike...but id say we missed out big time on that one fella..

I will start another thread for the sake of Pb2 and his rather insulting posts below. I am not sure exactly why he has turned on me.something about cockiness he says? Then something about saying things after they have happened? So please tell me Pb2. 1. When did Lukaku sign for us? I missed that one. 2. When did Drogba sign for Cheslea? I missed that one too. Ed025. is there any way you can resurrect my previous posts? I predicted that signings would be few and far between until the last 2 days of the window. I predicted ridiculously silly prices for average players and even sillier money for good players. I predicted that Lukaku was no1 target and we would have a shout in signing him but Bony was our no2 target. Admittedly I did not predict Drogba going to Chelsea. but I did think it was a possibility. I predict that Drogba will be at Chelsea as a player coach and Lukaku will be miffed! I predict that Lukaku will leave Chelsea.possibly for us? I also predict that Pb2 will come back with a smart a*se comment about my posts. Enough said!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - lets not get personal with other everton posters guys, i cant allow that, we are all on the same side, so as i have already said... play nice..

Sorry Ed if my post above came across as insulting. If you look at Pb2's post below, you did actually say the same about insults he was firing at me. I take it on the chin and my post above was supposed to be a bit of a laugh.with a friendly dig. No offence meant to Pb2.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - as i have said degsy to you and pb2, i cant allow 1 to 1 slanging matches mate, you are both valued posters, and i know a lot of it is banter but i want to nip it in the bud before it becomes more about the posters than the club, i hope you and pb2 understand..

Agreed Ed025. I do seem to have an effect on other posters. Another guy a while back who shall not be named took umbridge at what I was saying. let's say no more on it other than I can honestly say that I put posts on that are genuinely my thoughts about what is happening with our beloved club. Most of the time I have a few snippets of info or experience in the game to know how the things work. I may come over a bit cocky, but it is because I am usually right. How more honest can I be? LOL

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - how magnanimous of you degsy..

Tranmere 2-2 Everton with Naismith and Osman scoring

Didn't see the game but I'd be interested for any info on how Mcanely played.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Yeh it was good game I went sat in the kop with all tranmere fans are best player last night was luke garbutt he played class gibbo done well. antolin alcaraz looked out of depth and stuggled with Stockton and the wingers.

As much as lukaku is good I really hate his ego he thinks he's unreal, I would go for bacca and traore loan to buy,

Bacca is quality reminds me of dare I say . Suarez!

Dare you say? he's left now, I personally always thought he had sterling personality

Welbecks won more than bacca and rom, so he must be better, we should offer 30m plus barkley, stones and coleman in the morning, wait no! don't waste time, do it now before real offer 100m at 11 tonight!

With approx 40 days left of this window I myself have had the odd heart failure regarding our transfer news, Trawling site after site in work trying to get a glimmer of hope. Reading through our fans I have to say aren't we a load of old moaners! I for one will not be moaning any more ( at least until 1st sep) heres hoping we have a fantastic window boys Good luck Bobby! I popped out to buy a 15-20 goal a season striker this morning. Oh no, hang on, I didn't, because it's REALLY DIFFICULT, unless you have around £20 million plus wages in your back pocket and a Champion's League place. Which is why, if Lukaku comes on a permanent move, if will be something close to a miracle. I still think Bony is a possibility, but there seems to be no real indication that we are seriously interested in him. But if not Lukaku or Bony, who else? I'd love to know what people think.

Whatever happens with those two, I don't think there is any need for panic. The transfer window isn't a two-month long trolley dash where you mindlessly grab whatever's on the shelves (okay, it is if you're Tottenham era Harry Redknapp). RM will have strategies, alternatives, possibles, probables and plans A to Z because that is his job.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Rumour has it the club shop have been told to start doing 'Ferguson' No 9 shirts ready :-)

Holding out for a player, Lukaku how can Martinez have the time to wait for this man cause that is what is clearly going on here tv said he is still our number 1 target. I think it's time Bobby ditches him and moves on no player is bigger than the club come on Bony is waiting for someone to come in and rescue him from Swansea I say go for him make him our number 1 priority he won't disappoint I'm sure of it.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Totally agree Steph. Why are we being held to ransom by Lukaku and Chelsea? It's clear he sees himself better than us and Chelsea are happy to sit back and see if we're prepared to offer Ross at eleventh hour to broker a deal for a player the've made it clear they don't want. Let's put this to bed now and move for Bony or Bacca before someone else does.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry Stef not Steph. no offence intended!

My son's mate just showed me all the Arsenal training gear he's getting. What a great range Puma have offered. Why do Umbro always let us down? Apart from the home shirt, which I think is better than I hoped for, our training range is rubbish and shows no imagination from a compnay who seem stuck years in the past.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

What do you expect mate I also believe the home shirt looks spot on but the difference with Umbro and Nike was always going to be the training stuff and track suits etc, don't think I have bought anything Umbro or would want to

Fella 27 mil rodwell 15mil jelly 5mil + add ons Thers 47million we only got McCarthy 15 so 32 million were is r money going its beyond me we complain we want champions league but nothing's getting done about it we need a bug name an stop waiting round for lakaku Thers a lot off players good out there we can get an its as it were bargaining down players from 7 mullion who r easy worth there price an the. The likes off Liverpool come in 8 million for remy would off been a great sighing but as per we stall all the time an leave it last minute not a happy blue at the moment just like to see us active in the window for once because the money is there I hope so anyway

Believable0 Unbelievable0

22 Jul 2014 16:56:43
Evo, I completely agree that it's frustrating and I've had a few worries myself, but we do have to acknowledge how much money was used to pay down the various debts, and how much will continue to be until we redevelop or (more likely move).

Also when Rodwell left we got in Pienaar and Super Kev, and Remy was only available for £8.5m to a club playing in the CL.

Like I say, I'm not trying to argue with you and am finding it equally difficult reading the transfer news each day, I just think we have to be fair to the club as well.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - well said johnant..

22 Jul 2014 17:34:52
Yes I agree with what you are saying but still if we spend an bring quality players in an we can reach are aims ex: champions league your evan a cup that bring loads off money in an attracts players we can't just say we need to pay debts we need to move forward an atm were stuck :/

Agree0 Disagree0

I would still rather at this time be relying on RM than waiting on a deadline day debarcle with DM!

post to BigMick 1878
perhaps we are waiting till all the season tickets have been sold, & all the new shirts bought before
we are told that the right players were not available or finally (after weeks of negotiations)
they wanted to say at their club(who already have 10 players in the same position) & fight for their place.Or sign for some club in outer Mongolia rather than play in the PREM.
Again I say. "cease the day"

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - apparently its close JJC.. but no cigar yet mate..

22 Jul 2014 13:59:47
You shouldn't pay too much attention to the squad numbers of the youth players, JJC. He may have requested that one, and grant didn't want it, or grant has requested another one and 39's become available. either way, I wouldn't read into it too much

Hello there lads/ladies, just a little something I need to get off my chest. Is it only me who is now starting to get reaaaaalllllyyyyyy pissed off with our lack off action in the transfer market, I'm sick to death of the same old b******* year in year out "we was waiting for the right man"
"The players weren't available" when on the other hand you have the likes off a rubbishhouse club like Newcastle signing french internationals and that shower of rubbish from over the park tipping £100 million in spending, the money is there to be spent so for god sake get your hand in your pocket, or on the first home game of the season you might be swing a little bit more off me than what you all expected.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - read sids post mick..good things come to those who wait.. apparently.. :)

"Roberto Martinez must take advantage of Manchester United's rumoured interest in Everton midfielder James McCarthy if he is serious about signing Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku this summer."

WHO WRITES THIS GASH! How is selling McCarthy to united a good move for Everton? Please somebody tell me? He must be worth at least 30-40million in this market let's be honest plus he is homegrown early 20s and getting better why would we sell him for 25million! Standard media selling our players again

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - thats the press for you mate...fiction writers who cant get a book deal..

22 Jul 2014 14:01:28
He's worth £30-40m to us, in terms of his importance, but his market value is £20m tops. Don't read that crap, anyway

Agree0 Disagree0

Has just sent this post to ed. Very funny not reasonable. We have 40-45 m. Baz 2 Besic 4 Henen 1. Even Chelski need 30 we still can pay. But confident not reach 30 I guess what 22 for Rom.

Darren Gibson set to start tonight after nine months injured, personally I love him and think he'll be a key player this season. would also like to see some youngsters have some participation tonight, such as Garbutt, McAleny, Browning and obviously Stones

22 Jul 2014 10:03:46
Talking a lot today but it has occurred to me Everton have no chance of getting into the Champions league no matter how much we all would like it to happen. Small squad, too many games, attracting class players on a permanent basis, limited funding, improving teams below us. I note criticism is not taken well here but it is realistic.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

The rich get richer! however it means they often need to offload which is the only way we could have got Lukaku and Traore (although injured) last season.

Agree0 Disagree0

Happy lot you are, we were seven points off last season a transition season where we often struggled to convert possesion to points first 3 games being a prime example. I fully expect us to get another 5-10 points this season. COYB!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i hope your right quinny mate..

I'll guarantee you that won't happen!

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jul 2014 08:49:00
Like all of you I am frustrated by the time its taking to resolve this Lukaku issue, however it seems at this stage it is not down Everton who have openly enquired about the availability and price for the player, the player must want to move and the club (chels) must want to sell. I believe chelsea are doing the stalling having bought Costa but sold Ba, they will not want to let Lukaku go until they bring someone else in possibly Drogba, it is also possible that Lukaku has asked for an opportunity to prove himself as well and they are looking at him pre season before opting to keep or sell or even loan out again on deadline day! At this point it is not helpful in our preparations and I undersand RM is remaining optimistic and being patient!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Prove himself wakka? If Mourinho doesn't know what Lukaku is capable of by now he will never know.Im now starting to believe as a few have said on here its chelsea playing hardball with us because they probably want Ross as part of any deal.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jul 2014 07:51:20
How about these 2 scenarios to increase squad size and balance the books:

Barklay to Man City 35 mil less wages est 75k per week. Rodwell 7 mil Richards loan Milner 7 mil. est 175k per week. Then Lukaku 21 Mil Moses loan est 150k per week. Net spend Nil apart from the wage bill. All our kitty to get fresh blood from overseas 2nd striker Besic etc.

Other option is Barkley to Chelskie and doing things the other way round.

I favour the former as Man City will need home grown replacements.

I don't want to see Barkley go but it would balance the books on Everton Man City and Chelskie fronts in terms of financial fair play.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - selling our best players is a very slippery slope smeggs, and to replace ross with the likes of milner, rodwell, richards and moses is not the answer, these are either crocks or serial under achievers..

22 Jul 2014 08:30:30
Worst idea I've ever seen

Agree0 Disagree0

Agreed Ed. Not what I want but what could happen to increase the squad. Will Barkley stay longer than another year and will his value shoot up when he still has rough edges. Just away of increasing squad size without spending, which is the pattern of recent years in the Everton Hierarchy.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jul 2014 09:57:43
The books aren't so bad they need 'balancing' and I think you're way off on your wage estimations.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jul 2014 12:02:37
It was bad enough when we had to transfer our best players in order to keep our club's finances just above water, but the idea of taking other clubs' has-beens, never-wassers and could-of-beeners as makeweights in deals for our best players just to help them balance their financial fair play books is beyond the pale. Thank goodness we have BK (for all his faults) and RM handling our club's transfer business and not the fans!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - how true sid..

Played every year of the prem get a full house most weeks nobody earns over 100k and had top 10 finishes for years on the bounce. how do we still need to balance the books? fulham paid 11million for mccormack and they've just went down? how do we not have more money than them can any1 explain?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - in a word...wages..these players are earning millions each year, and it all adds up..

22 Jul 2014 15:55:06
I believe wages are part of the reason we do not buy until we get close to deadline day,Paying out the wages of 1 or 2 players which may be 60 -70k a week for a month or 2 whilst not playing competitive can save you a lot of money maybe in the region of 1/2 million.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jul 2014 03:45:26
Is it me your is it getting a bit stupid waiting for lakaku to decide if he wants to play for Everton if he wanted to he would off by now bobby needs to move on an start looking else were before its to late an stop wasting time on a kid who can't make is mind up plus he is saying he wants to fight for is place at chelsea the club who keep loaning him out he is always going to be back up for them as I always say you leave everton There's only one way an its down the ranks

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Of course it's frustrating, but transfers these days involve such huge amounts of money, and so many interested parties (such as agents and third-party shared ownership), and so many contractual aspects (like image rights, release clauses, bonus structures, tax arrangements, sponsorship deals, etc., etc.) that it's bound to take time - especially as many transfers are often part of a chain of deals that need to come together involving several clubs.
Patience is a virtue, so I'll wait and see who's available for our first-team for the first match of the season and I'll also wait and see who's in our registered squads (Premier League and Europa League) at the end of the transfer window. Just pay attention to what RM actually says and note that he has always told the truth about who might come and go.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - the voice of reason as ever sid..

You have to have ross, and john stones kevin marellas bainsy ect. to attract players not be selling them. but I know were your coming from with the lack of movement at our club.but in football things can change in a heart beat.still have confidence in bobby.but he needs to get a move on.just hope he is not putting all his eggs in one basket concerning lakaku. he must have a plan B.
