When a player says we wants champions league football it's just a kop out doesn't every footballer in the world want champions league football don't know what they would do if it was only first place that went into champions league like it used to be then not as many would be playing in it each year what would the excuses be then for wanting to leave I for one am sick of listening about players talking about champions league I want it want I want is all they seem to talk.

As far as I understand it, Lukaku, has 4 years remaining on his contract, Stones and Barkly 3 years. Surly this must mean that only the club says who moves, when, and for how much, it's not as if we risk loseing them for nothing, even a lower fee would rest on the haveing 1 year or less.
All.

{Ed025's Note - its all about opinions Tbone..

22 Mar 2016 20:32:24
Whats your thoughts ed in your apinion what should happen being manager and players leaving.

Agree4 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - for me Tbone all our players are replaceable bar for lukaku but if he does not want to be here then him as well, i think we may be guilty of bigging up our players too much mate, i have been as guilty as anyone for doing it which i put down to wanting everton to be great again, but on reflection i think the players have let us down just as badly as martinez, a lot of our squad are average to be honest and just continually blaming the manager is wearing a bit thin...yes hes a fraud but did he make all the defensive errors? miss all those chances? give the ball away and not track back?...no thats the players, i would like to see farhad come in and appoint someone with balls who will whip these underperformers into shape or ship them out, end of rant..

22 Mar 2016 21:27:06
To be honest I think a fair few of out players are still developing Stones Barclay and Lukaku will only get better as they mature but for me we should have been rotating all of them more. Unfortunately with the exception of Jags and Barry this season our older players have just not performed. I know some will just blame Martinez but he is not solely responsible for the position we find ourselves in. Like ed025 I have been a fair supporter of RM as I think certain aspects of his management are extremely positive but he is certainly frustrating at times. I thought on last seasons performance we would to get into the top 8 and that would have been a fair reflection on our squad. If we win the FA cup and get into the top 8 then I still think with the squad we have that would be an achievement. What has really thrown things up in the air is the poor form of the so called big 4 and the excellent form of the foxes. this is totally unexpected as is our home form (shocking) . RM will stay till the end of the season and we will be able to judge is performance on where we finish. If we win the FA cup and finish in the top 10 I think he will be kept on. If he doesn't then we may be looking for a new manager but I'm not holding my breath. let's just hope we get two trips to Wembley and something to polish at the end of a season that has been so bloody annoying oh and we better get to 40 points soon or it will be squeaky bum time.

22 Mar 2016 22:04:16
Ed025 no doubt the players have to shoulder some blame. For me the proportion is roughly 10 - 20% players 80 - 90% Martinez.

Why do we concede so much? Simple, Martinez. The season before he came we had one of the best defence in the league. I think we're all in agreement that in his first season it wasn't Martinez's defence. So the last 2 seasons have.

Its his style of play that means we concede so much. Yes, its the players who make the mistakes. It's under orders. If they don't do what Martinez says they are going to get dropped. None of them want that.

Under different managers and different style of play I am in no doubt that we could have a top 5 defence or goals against in one season. No problem.

Martinez teams leak goals. Its not coincidence. Its too much risks at our own goals. I maybe guilty of overestimating some of our players at times also.

But answer me this, why do all the neutrals say we are underachieving? Everyone seems to be in agreement we are much better than we are performing so saying Martinez is not to blame is not making sense to the majority of people.

We are totally underachieving. Everyone says so. That's points to the man in charge. He should be doing better. It's defence that is the problem really.

I can't see that problem being fixed. He stuck to his guns with Wigan. After letting in more goals than any team in the history of the premiership did Martinez address the problem? No he ignored it, then the following season Wigan got relegated. As I said he didn't even attempt to fix the obvious problem of letting in goals.

He's too stubborn to think he may be wrong. He WILL get us relegated eventually if he stays too long. He shows no sign of fixing the defence. No attempt to do so like Wigan. Number 2 even said there is no plan B.

He didn't acknowledge the reason Wigan got relegated. He's not going to at Everton either.

The sooner he goes the better. I'm convinced. So is 87% of voters in the poll in this website. Only one thing to do for me.

{Ed025's Note - i was not admonishing roberto,s role in all this NBTB as he is where the buck stops, i was just pointing out that the players have a responsibilty as well and have to look at themselves and ask if they have done enough? mate..

Apart from the cup I'd say seasons been over for fair few weeks now.I'd like players to show passion, and the manager to have the balls to make dramatic changes if needed.take Barkley for example. If he has a couple of games where he doesn't seem to be at the races, then bring in a u21 player who will show he has what it takes to be in the first team, like dowell for instance.can a u21 player make as many mistakes in a match as some of our so called superstars are doing.mori has be very poor last couple of games. .play Galloway there.he has played 1st team and is naturally a centre half.might make our 'superstars' raise their game.

23 Mar 2016 07:46:23
Ok Ed025, Coleman admitted months ago that the defence needed to do better. I hear what your saying the players are partly to blame. Imo Martinez is mostly to blame because as you say the buck stops with him.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - no free ride for bobby from me NBTB, hes more guilty than anyone as hes the one who should drop players who dont perform mate..

Apparently, our board are well aware of the feelings of the supporter, in relation to Martinez.
If this is correct, then, at the very least, they shold come out an give an indication that they acknowledge our concerns and are activly giveing the situation their atention.
Along with many fans, am not demanding an answer tomorrow, just an indication that our concerns are on the agenda.
Our new owner, has put up a lot of cash, surley, Bills friend or not, he will not be griped by the same sentimentality, that has thus far been masked as loyalty.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - they are well aware of the fans feelings JCW, but i doubt very much that they will come out and state it at this time mate, especially as we have a cup semi final coming up as it would show disunity within the ranks, my bet would be a review at the end of the season but there is no guarantee that it will result in the termination of his contract..

23 Mar 2016 11:00:57
I am NOT buying another season ticket till he has gone.
I will sadly loose my seat but I not prepared to support him or the board by giving them my contribution.
We really need to do some proactive.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Maybe your seat can go to someone who gives their support to the team.}

24 Mar 2016 08:52:01
I have had a seat for the majority of the last 50 years, it is this blind faith that has put us in the position we are,
i ressent your remark in suggesting I do not support Everton . Ifcall fans followed suit then the huge reduction in uptake of tickets WOULD FORCE THE BOARD TO ACT.
While evryone just pays vast sums of money to watch one of the worst performing teams we have had mainly because of the manager, the board will do nothing.

its really starting to sink in now as liecester get nearer to winning the league this was the season for us to finish top 4 or even win the league and with the team we have got we should have been up there. its sickning, wot a huge almighty cock up by mr fraud if he can't do it with this team he will never do it. this chance only comes around every ten years and we have blew it big time. say it to yourself LEICESTER CHAMPIONS. LEICESTER CHAMPS LG. it doesint sound right does it. we are going to lose are big players and its mr frauds fault. are we really going to have to put up with a 3rd season were mid table is now the norm. next season NO LUKAKU.NO STONES.barkly will stay AND ITS ALL MR FRAUDS FAULT. my season ticket will not be getting renewed unless he is gone. I know it's a massive opportunity passed up but you can't take anything away from Leicester, they've beaten everyone his season and haven't been lucky about any of it. I'm really rooting for them to go all the way.

{Ed025's Note - me too gibbo mate..

22 Mar 2016 17:23:16
Tbf Leicester are what epitomises the word team. Even there flair player in Mahrez tracks and chases as does Vardy. They have a solid backline with a top keeper behind them and here's one for you it's not just this season this was built by Pearson and tweaked by Ranieri. I heard a stat on talk sport on Saturday that from last April until Saturday they have amassed 82 points. They are only 2 points worse of at this stage than Chelsea were last season at the same stage so you have to ask is it a fluke or well deserved. I go for the latter.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Mar 2016 17:31:21
in no way am I taking anything away from leicester they have been everything we havint, dicaplined, together, and a team,i am rooting for them and hope they can get over the finish line. let's hope that these foxes won't be caught.

22 Mar 2016 17:32:06
Leicester may have been candidates for relegation at start of the season but they fully deserve to be where they are. They remind me of Greece when they won the Euros only Greece won it through hardwork and the whole team playing as a unit. Leicester has some very good footballers that are having an outstanding season. I too hope they go on to win it as they have been the most consistent team this season and its great for football that none of the billionaire clubs are going to win it.

22 Mar 2016 17:55:55
who says that Lukaku and Stones will leave the press who always sells our players the difference is we have money behind us so who says Moshiri will allow them to leave I get the impression he wants to build something big and in his first window he will want to make a statement.

Agree1 Disagree0

22 Mar 2016 20:24:43
Leicester fully deserve their position in the League as we fully deserve ours. Our ambition if some of the media are to be believed is to replace the maybe outgoing Stones with Holding of Bolton (a side currently bottom of the Championship) . Leicester have fought hard all season, attacked as a unit and defended as a unit.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i must say i have been very impressed by them DM, their players are no better than ours mind but what they do have is a togetherness and spirit that we dont, its built on tactical savvy and the players knowing exactly what their role is in the team and management that adapt to other teams systems, ranieri has done a fantastic job mate and i know people go on about mahrez, kante and vardy but the star man for me is claudio..

22 Mar 2016 15:30:40
Is it just me or is Barkley getting away with murder week in week out. He'll have 1 good performance every 5+games and then absolutely nothing for weeks. The talent he has is great but sadly in my view his enthusiasm for the ugly side of the game I. e closing down, work rate leaves him miles short of fulfilling his potential. Is this why Woy Hodgson is often seen grimacing at international level when Barkley is on the pitch?

Next manager for me is someone who has the making of a winner, played for a top winning team and knows what it is like to win. Just look at Markus Weinzierl of Augsburg of the German League. Tough team playing neat football, from nearly drop-heads 3 seasons ago now heading to Europe. Attracting the agents and top players Ex Bayern professional player so he knows the score. Did that on a 20million Euro budget too.

good by lukaku thank you for keeping us up this season and sorry for are defence this season this is only because of one man and his backroom defence staff , if we could of stop the goals going in who knows people could of been talking about us and not Leicester and you would of been fulfilling your dreams at are great club , will be gutted to see you go and wish you could be persuaded to stay one more season but this is all down to one man and unfortunately he won't persuade you to stay.

I and many evertonians won't begrudge you a move to the most decorated club in the world ( hope he reads this ) and thank you for nothing martinez chasing the best striker we have had in many a year and not fulfilling his dreams because of your inept defence coaching skills and clueless tactics over 2 years just when you sit down at night just think the player he will become when 26,27 so sad

When Wigan were relegated and Martinez leaving to join Everton, he made a statement that he was NOT the man who could get Wigan promoted back to the Premiership. That to me says if he could not get them promoted, then he certainly could not keep them there. Therefore he is not good enough for Everton FC.
For this reason I have not been supportive with his appointment. The fact that he is a decent person in several quarters, covers his weaknesses.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

22 Mar 2016 10:04:47
Add to that his abysmal Premiership record (CV) of constant relegation struggle and we have a true picture and measure of his Managerial abilities. The signs were always there, but unfortunately BK did not or would not see it. I believe Martinez appointment was a knee jerk reaction to Moyes leaving and the Media (and fans) impatient pressure for a swift replacement. BK said he appointed the man on the strength of his defeat of us, the FA Cup win and his CV (that bit is laughable) . His comments on Martinez after qualifying for the Semi, show that he (BK) is still blinkered where Martinez is concerned. My only hope is that Moshri, really is as astute as I believe him to be.

Think we have done it to death now Dunc, not having a go at you mate as we all want him out, even if we win the FA Cup he should be gone, nothing will happen until the outcome of this is sorted so may as well all have a break on the Martinez's failings, as there is nothing left to report about him that we all don't know. My last post on this

Martinez out within 8 weeks.

Agree5 Disagree4

22 Mar 2016 11:41:34
Murf you can't say we all want him out some of us will wait until the end of the season. If he wins the FA cup the first trophy in over 20 years I will give him another year to build and add to this impressive squad. Comments about his fights with relegation however in his first season he lead us to our highest ever Premier League point tally. this season semi final of league cup to be done by an obvious over the line second goal at Maine road. Tell me who would you replace him with?

Agree3 Disagree4

22 Mar 2016 12:13:28
Wellzee, if you are happy with a trophy and mid-table mediocrity then so be it, but I am not. As to who would replace him, as far as the league goes I can only recite this conversation. On the way home from the West Ham game my Grand Son said why did Mr Martinez not put on a defender, when we had 10 minutes to go. My Grand Son is 8 years old.

I saw TMH's post about Tim Cahill and ED025's added comment and a few others about being touched by Everton and how it effects you if you are chosen. I have a very simple explanation as to why this happens. Many many years ago football developed in this county and the Football League was created. Everton Football Club existed and was one of the founding members. In our history and this timespan, we have had many owners and varying amounts of success. During this time, many other football clubs have been created. A few have remained like Everton, but a lot of football buisnesses have also developed. some do not resemble a club as such. They may be very successful and streets ahead of Everton Football Club. but they are not clubs. Everton Football Club still remains like your old fashioned "sports and social club". You actually feel part of it. Whether it is the under 16's, the ladies team or the first team, we are proud of every member of our club. We all drink out of Everton mugs. We all have Everton key rings. We all spend ridiculous amounts of money to follow our "club". We all have terrible weekends when we lose. and once in a while we all experience ecstacy in one form or another when we beat our rivals or win an important game. but we all do it together as a club. Other football businesses just cannot compete with this form of solidarity.
