Anyone else reckon we should go after Nathan Redmond? Really rate him and he's just been relegated with Norwich, know of any interest Eds? Cheers

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He was excellent when play in Championship. But in Premier league he is rubbish.

Agree0 Disagree0

Have to disagree sitea. Last season he was in a very poor Norwich side but he was the one shining light. I think he is good enough for the PL and I believe he wanted to come to us when he was at Birmingham.

mate of mines who told me that mcgeady was at goodison the day we signed him, just told me everton have had a bid accepted for michy batshuayi, swansea have also had one accepted, know the lad has the choice which club he wants to go to

Believable0 Unbelievable0

23 May 2014 09:14:07
I don't think that is much of a choice mate

Agree0 Disagree0

Reports are Swansea have had a bid and he is waiting to see if we come in and match the bid. Supposed to be around 6 million.

Posted last week about meeting David Moyes at Girona Airport (an absolute gentleman).Whatever you think of him guys and girls the way the 'Gutter Press' have built up an incident outside a Lancashire wine bar beggers belief. Anything to sell their rags!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I completely agree, when I saw the headline I immediately assumed the media was blowing up the incident. I feel sorry for moyes, he probably can't go out in public with out people haggling him about united

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm going to court as a witness for him. I watched him for 11 years and he never attacked anyone. Boom tish. :)

Agree0 Disagree0

Nice one paddock

Agree0 Disagree0

No sympathy for him. He's very quick to go public about players he wanted to sign from us and naming names to the press.

They say what goes around comes around. Never more true.

Why do we all slag off Clevs. He would do a job and think that he could be a high class Osman with Bobbys guidance

Believable0 Unbelievable0

23 May 2014 09:15:07
I agree, I would put him in the top 4 midfielders in the world, what do you think Real Mike

Agree0 Disagree0

United are going after our James Mcarthy whilst you want us to go after Tom Cleverly?

Lets have a bit of ambition, please.

Agree0 Disagree0

Been on holiday with a family of Manchester United fans I asked if he thought clevs has had a bad deal and isn't as bad as the tele makes out, he laughed and said put it this way he has done well considering his ability. Says it all

Very strong rumours, Everton put an £8 million bid in for Batshuayi, any legs Ed

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Hopefully he has at least two!

Post on twitter saying Everton have signed Batshuayi for 8 mill euro. Don't know how legit the post is though

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - The transfer window is closed.}

He could sign now ed but not join intil june 1st mate. Although anyone who believes anything posted on twitter wants their heads testing

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i agree mate..

Ed I've been using the search function and say for instance I want to see posts from last summers deadline day or posts the day bobby was announed as our manager I can't find it, a while ago the utd banter had a bar where you could select D/MY and that has gone now, is there anway I can find posts from a specific date?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - I will check for you mate..

22 May 2014 14:51:56
Swansea agree a 7 mill fee for Batshuayi, but it looks like he is going to reject them. Surely we should jump in and get the deal done before world cup starts. We were interested in January, and don't think our interest has wavered. The kid looks a great prospect.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

If he goes to Swansea then it would be because we don't want him IMO

Agree0 Disagree0

If he goes to swansea, does that mean bony is up for sale?

What is going on? I go away for a month and come back expecting to hear the news about Clevs having been signed. Imagine my disappointment when finding out he still hasn't. I had the song prepared and everything. I am gutted.

I also see that Clevs has been left out of the England squad and Fat Frank Lampard Junior is in it. What is that about? I think Roy must be having a laugh with that one.

Please someone tell me that we are still going to get Clevs, £15 million should do it, so what is Martinez waiting for?

I am worried that Van Gaal is going to build his team around him and we will then have no chance of signing him.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Haha good to see you back Mike always enjoy your posts, good one mate.

So Gomis wants 100k per week. Lot of money but no transfer fee for a decent cf with plenty of experience and proven scorer at a high level. Could be a goer? Also seen links with munain over in spain. Bit soft for me. Bit worrying is something I read in an arsenal forum about them being seriously interested in our super kev :-(

Believable0 Unbelievable0

22 May 2014 14:17:09
100k a week for a DECENTstriker?

Agree0 Disagree0

100k is a lot we don't pay wages like that for "decent" players (or any for that matter) Baines, Mirallas, Barkeley etc would be hammering Bills door down for new deals if we signed him on a wage like that. No thanks

Starting to worry about our great club despite fantastic season. BK will surely be remembered for the great blue he is and the tremendous work he's done for us.

But with the Abu Dhabi (massive) deal dead in the water (another one bites the dust) due to failing to qualify for Champs League and our owners demanding too much for the club, makes me wonder where we go from here.

What should be a season to celebrate and WC with Barkley/Baines/Jags etc just feel numb as I feel we'll be in for usual loss of our key players AGAIN. How many more great players (maybe even RM) do we need to lose before BK & the board take a sensible hit to sell on for what is best for the club and supporters. Always felt BK had evertons interests at heart, but don't think I believe this anymore. Sorry to bring everyone down whilst there eating their cornflakes but will be gutted if we lose Barkley this year or next because our club is stagnating behind the scenes despite the rhetoric and usual flannel from the board. Maybe I'll get some stick for this post due to timing, but the prospect of Barkley following Rooney and any other promising youngeters out the club just makes me feel sick.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Neil mate we are in a different position now than when we were when Rooney left. I remember ed001 saying that takeovers and investment don't happen overnight and that it takes time. Also everybody seems to think that City were bought overnight but in fact it was goingon for months I believe we will awake one day to massive news about our club and it will be good news aswell keep the head and stay positive nobody ever said being a Evertonian is easy in a football world dominated by money. Good things are happening for Everton already without massive money being spent our day will come just have to be a little more patient.

Agree0 Disagree0

Any investor or new chairman looking to buy into us should keep their demands to themselves until they put up the cash,

Course barkley will leave, our only hope of keeping him is getting in the champions league withing the next season or two, which we wont, ross will leave, we will get good money and then never see it again, oh well, be shame where he goes, don't want him at utd because their fans fancy themselves so much its sickening, don't want him at cheksea because their fans are up their own behind and don't want him at arsenal because well, arsenal fans are at our level and they hate to deny it, they are a selling club too, they won't challenge chelsea or city ever but their fans think they are at that level, lol, i'd rather he went to city or abroad, end kf the day, does it matter? Least we still have osman

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with swan but steff the blue I understand you saying buying a football club takes time it does but the thing is that reporters make sure these on going deals do not stay secret there like dogs with bones so the chances are that if there was a deal in the process for us to be sold we would all no by now so the chances are what ever was in the pipeline is now dead in the water

How do you know the Abu Dhaby investment was dependant on champions league qualification?

Agree0 Disagree0

THERE NEVER WAS NO ABU DABI INVESTMENT AAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHHH. , why do some of our fans believe this rubbish!! More like Abu Diaby (i know I've tweeked the spelling) buying shares when he leaves Arsenal. Sorry if this sounds harsh but some of our fans are so gullable it hurts.

Agree0 Disagree0

What makes me laugh is the pathetic approach of Uefa. In an effort to stop the global money infecting clubs and the turning of clubs into businesses, they introduce a financial fair play system designed to combat this sugar daddy ownership way of thinking. Only to then apply it only to teams already in the Champions League and not ones who are qualifying this season. Then when teams like Man City blatantly break the rules, they apply a rule which states that Man City will only be able to spend 49 million ABOVE what they generate in player sales. ie if they sell 20 million worth of players, they will ONLY be able to spend 69 million on players. What a hardship. I wish they would apply a rule to us that says we can only spend 49 million more than we make on player sales!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Trust me the Abu Dhabi money WAS dependent on CL qualification. Love BK with all my heart and aware that as major share holder he has a proportionate say in all matters Everton but would suggest that unless Mr Earl & Lord Granchester (both immensely more wealthy than BK apparently) can assist BK or are willing to take us to next level financially (which they have had ample opportunity to do so but don't appear to want to take this option, unless I'am missing something!)

Then can see us continuing in this position of being stuck between a rock and a hard place whilst losing ground with the modern commercial aspects of Prem Football, not to mention the real possibility of losing our best players regularly.

I apologise for appearing so negative but its keeping me up nights!, Shame as we are on the cusp of something great with our manager and players and would happily love BK to be involved going forward but feel unless the fellow board members truly want to back Everton then they need to sell up. This will not happen in the current climate of course due to money sloshing about for TV etc.

Look at Arsenal for a useful comparison and they HAVE a bought and paid for stadium but still find themselves regularly at loggerheads due to Kronke v Asminov.

Sorry I've gone on a bit and rant over, COYB

Agree0 Disagree0

Neil, no offence here mate but how do you know there was money waiting to be invested from some oil rich Sheik? You wrote the words "trust me the investment was dependant on cl qualification" how do you know this? How much are we talking about here? Serious question.

Ed who is more likely to get colback? Us or newcastle? He is a geordie but celebrated against them and we could offer him european football? Would be chuffed with him

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - I can't speak for him swan, but if I was a guy in his position everton would be my first choice, not only would he be at a bigger club, but he would be playing alongside far better players, and if he has aspirations to better himself and represent his country it's a no brainier mate..

I really like the guy. If we don't get Barry then this lad will do. Has a better engine than Barry and can pick a pass.

Agree0 Disagree0

Good solid reliable player.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd take him OVER Barry. Younger and more mileage to come. No brainer for me. I mentioned it in another post, I think he would fit right in here and is exactly the type of player we should be going all out for especially as he is on a free.
