Great performance today, theres a hunger, a passion and a monumental belief in the team at the moment that we can beat anyone. Our play is sensational at times and great to watch. Everytime we go forward we look like scoring. If we'd have gotten 7 today nobody would've questioned it, hell i cant remember that last time we created 31 chances in a game!! If fact there were whole months last season were we didnt create that many chances, thats how far we've come.

However, our defence is a bit shakey this season, at times our players are being caught out of position because we're playing such attacking football, also i feal that we need a little bit more protection in front of the back 4, without Gibbo there nobody has stepped into the role. Thought Jonny looked out of sorts today, maybe he just needs a couple of games, but lets face it lads, at half time how many of us thought we needed a 3rd goal?? i know i did

All in all though this is one happy toffee, isnt it great that we can moan after winning 3-0 away to a very good swansea side! i knew this was gonna be a special season.. Havnt stopped smiling all day and i think im gonna be smiling all week too!!

Correct on all counts.

Wizard of Osman {Ed025's Note - i agree wiz..that was a great post by kurjan...exactly my views..

Agree0 Disagree0

Nice post Kurjan. Can't disagree with any of that. The momentum is firmly with us right now.

I think Big Vic needs a mention too. Very good 90 from him causing Swansea all sorts of problems. A worthy stand in for Jelly. Although I can't help thinking that we would have scored more had Jelly been fit to play.

Next up Leeds

As a defender I was always looking for the keeper to command the six yard box. This gave a confidence to the defenders.
Tim is more of a goal line keeper relying on reflexes to make saves. Problem with that is the defenders are often quickly trying to get in position to defend balls angled into dangerous areas of the box, and if Tim is slightly off his game we will concede goals.
Despite a really first class and dominant performance against Swansea, they could easily have scored four goals which could have changed the complexion of the game.
Perhaps Chris Woods should focus in training on Tim facing Big Dunc with high crosses into the six yard box?

Just read this on the Saints site

Predictions for Saturday?

I reckon an upbeat Saints side lifted by a good solid weeks training and the full debut of a world class Gaston Ramirez against a very poor Villa side. Our bad luck must run and hopefully we have ironed out some of the silly errors. I'm worried about our defence handling Darren Bent so I'll give them 1 goal, but can't see them stopping us. 4-1

Ed I'm just wondering. As I'm 15, would I be able to buy a ticket for myself or would an adult be needed to?. The reason I can't get to games that often is because of the situation in my family (my dad lives in Czech and my step-dad is a Hammers fan), so I have to go on my own, and annoyingly buy my own tickets (although I can afford them as I have a very good and succesful YouTube channel through which I earn the money - I'm a tech reviewer... a very good one - ITouchTutorialsHD for those interested).

But I'm about to get a Junior FOREVERTON Membership, but would I be able to purchase tickets on my own? It could be a simple answer but I'd like clarification first.

Thanks in advance.

Keith EFC. {Ed025's Note - to be honest keith...im not sure mate, you would be best contacting the club for clarification mate..

Not a 100% Keith but I think you're ok to buy tickets for the games with the exception of the family enclosure

Great performance, great result - there's not much more to say.

1 thing that makes me wonder though is why are a lot of people saying our defence looked a 'bit shaky'. OK, I know saying that isn't exactly saying it was awful, but I thought we was great all over. Coleman at RB was a risky change, but he really impressed me. Against Orient he did great but that's League 1, and today would have tested his RB ability and going forward he was fantastic. Defensively he wasn't the best; giving the ball away a few times but he was 100% there with his effort. He got back when he had to, and was always there up front - which is perfect as he used to be a winger, so he knows how to attack. Out of 10, I'd give him 7-7.5. As said, he gave the ball away but was always there wether it be attacking or defending and did some great pieces of work in both areas. I think with more experience at RB he could become a very good player in that posistion. And at 23, he is at the perfect age to learn from Baines, Hibbo and even Nev.

I normally give a full overview of the match, but I don't think I need to as defensively I thought we was very good (Jags did some great tackles and Baines was as consistent as ever) however some might beg to differ. Attack wise we did superb. Passing in the final third until we found a decent opening. Only thing needing work on is some finishing, but that is constantly worked on in training and will get better as the players get further into the season.

All I can say is well done you Toffees! 3 goals away at a team which likes to pass the ball for fun and who got totally outplayed by a rampant Blue side is unbelievable at this stage of the season.

Absolutely awesome!! Defended well moved the ball in ways you will only see at arsenal or barca, and created chance after chance. If we can keep this up woooowww am not going to jinx it. But u would have to go out ya way to find a better TEAM!! LIAM(very proud toffee) {Ed025's Note - i agree with everything, except the defended well bit liam...we kept a clean sheet, but more through luck than judgement, im not complaining though mate, as we are playing some wonderful attacking stuff..

Great performance today from the blue men. Keep it low key still though lads, don't want to get carried away, just hope we can keep this up for 10-15 games then see were we are!
Mirallas really impresses me, direct, strong, both footed, quick and loves to shoot! Coleman did well but gave it away a few times and I thought Anichebe was brilliant.
Hope we play a strong side Tuesday against Leeds, would love to win a cup

It seems to have gone under the
radar that Coleman started in place
of Hibbert.
I think this may have contributed
to us looking a little uncertain at the
back.
But then Coleman gives extra quality
in possession. Against a decent left
winger he might be exposed a bit.
Fortunately there's not too many
about and we have the best of them!
Am completely undecided as to who
we should go with.

I've watched a lot if footy at the liberty stadium due to where I live and I can tell you that there will not be a better away performance down there than the one I saw today. We were awesome.

Don't let anyone say that we stopped Swansea playing, more of a case that Swansea failed to stop us playing. We were first out of the blocks and controlled the game from early on. We passed better than them too and that is a big positive due to their brand of play.

I'm also pleased that Howard had a solid game between the sticks, he needed that.

So 3 points away against a very good side. A very satisfying result.

I agree ed about the defence looking a bit shaky i think gibson coming back will help that, but the style were playing i think were gonna have to get used to winning games 3-2, i also thought coleman at rb gives us another dimension going forward and even more options, also against the big clubs we cant keep missing so many sitters, but im still smirking, now remember how bad we were this time last year, so i think weve got a lot to be pleased with and if stoke win 3-0 we go top!

Have to give a big shout out to sky they had the foresight to see we are a emerging force and had the potential to entertain the nation and they made the call to give us plenty of live games early in the season, this goes against the grain but we have not let them down and delivered enthralling football and are now everybody's favourite second team,....shame on E.S.P.N,who decided not to give us one live game in there initial batch of live games, instead rather predictively sticking with the so called big five, well that's there loss,Leeds next live on the telly, the nation awaits, let us entertain you,.......tristen

I thought we were outstanding today as much as we were brilliant going forward, I thought howard had a good game, and when mirallas is really up and firing what a player we could have there, and at this moment in time i reckon there's only arsenal who even come close to playing attacking football like ours, 26 shots at goal away from home, we've gotta be pleased.
Ste c {Ed025's Note - i think we all are ste...i know it may sound negative, but the defence looks very shaky at the moment, but give me this way of playing any day..

Believable4 Unbelievable0

I agree Ed025 but when you have attacking minded players in the team you are going to be opened up more when we lose possession. Mirallas isn't going to give us that much defensive cover but going forward he is quality. Didn't see much of Oviedo but he did look rapid.

Superb performance today we are playing our best football in 20 years. If we are to get into the top 4 we need to keep Fellaini and we've got to be more clinical in front of goal because we won't get 10 (ten) chances against the better teams.

Great match, really enjoyed it, we come out the blocks like a Jamaican sprinter as usual, couple of points for me are, firstly I have been an avid slater of big Vic and he is starting to change my mind, I hope he stays fit and gets a good run in the side, well played Vic but you could have had a hat trick, maybe with the extra confidence he may start hitting the ball first time.

Mirallas is gonna be a superstar
Ossie and Phil had a much better game
Felli the usual
Bainesnaar, one mind, two players, awesome
Great from all the lads

What handball, swings and roundabouts

Slight negative on a massive positive is why does Jags like playing it back to the keeper from the half way line

I think tomorrow will be a good time for Moyes too shake things up a tiny up. With Gibson, Jelavic and possibly Hibbert out tomorrow it would be a good time to drop Fellaini back into centre mid and get Neville out of the midfield, top captain, top bloke, but ruins some of our lovely play in the attacking third. I would also bring Heitinga in, he is desperate to play and hungry to play, good time to bring him in and not only that last 2 game and 4 goals conceded so Heitinga needs bringing in to keep either Jagielka or Distin on there toes.

Howard
Neville Jagielka Heitinga Baines

Mirallas Fellaini Osman Pienaar
