Would people say the Martinez has had an unlucky season in the prem this year or would yall say he has had one lucky season in his premiership management career?

Believable3 Unbelievable1

23 Apr 2016 22:57:26
When u play players in wrong positions and have players on the bench that do them positions naturally. That's his management. That's his fault.

Agree2 Disagree0

23 Apr 2016 23:12:30
The proof is clear he had one lucky season thanks to David Moyes he is a bad manager, should never have come our club, he conned Kenwright and most fans. He was still doing this till recently he is a good con man and bad manager.

Agree3 Disagree0

23 Apr 2016 23:46:18
He is not a premiership manager. Championship at best.

Agree2 Disagree0

24 Apr 2016 01:05:57
Agree, but for years I've wanted exciting football and we got it.just need a manager with bobby's attacking and Moyes defence and we will do great.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Apr 2016 05:41:22
You think this is exciting football? Pathetic capitulation- we were buzzing only due to an own goal. Lukaku can go- I can't stand the lad- missed two sitters and a penalty after taking the ball from Baines. We all give Miralles maximum for that but he gets away with it. Second half I thought we give it to them but could not convert. Lukaku should be ashamed. If he thinks he's so fantastic he needs to be putting the ball in the back of the net. Simple as that. Otherwise I'd take the £50m. Hope Bobby Liar walks today. Still got tough PL games to go and can't see us winning any. Geri made a massive difference when he came on but too little too late- again. And WTF was the Mirrales sub about with seconds on the clock? , is this man totally mad?

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Apr 2016 07:35:02
Unfortunately WaltonBlue judging by Martinez comments about going nowhere it seems the Club have been hoodwinked yet again.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Apr 2016 22:26:14
Got to take the positives out fo today the lads rallied themselves at half time to show we have got good players in this squad it showed if we can keep hold of them and bring in a manager who can motivate them with the new investment it could be good times ahead.

If the Board do not act this week I fear the most toxic and unpleasant scenes next Saturday.

The press will love it and it will do the clubs image no good.

Let's hope the club announce Roberto's departure in a dignified manner on Monday and then we can move on.

Believable4 Unbelievable1

24 Apr 2016 07:36:58
I know Mushy, but as I said above, someone has obviously given him cause to believe he is staying otherwise his after match comments were just bluster.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Apr 2016 08:14:53
It wouldn't be the first time he gibba gabba'd.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Apr 2016 22:03:15
Expected, but none the less disappointed in the end. At least they put a shift in second half and showed some balls. Stones has come on for a bit of stick off some people for his performance today, but I thought he had a good game? Grew as the match went on and started to look like his old self.

Interesting few days to come though, whether Bobby stays or goes.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

23 Apr 2016 21:25:58
For Martinez to come out with his latest statement 'I am the right man to take Everton forward' then clearly there has not been an emergency meeting or the Club have told him to carry on. If that is the case then the Club clearly do not have the fans/ supporters best interests at heart.

There is little point now in having Martinez in charge for the rest of the season, his continued stay will only muddy the waters for any incoming Manager. One of the first things our new owner will surely address is the PR/ Communications Department.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

23 Apr 2016 21:54:01
We have some good players but we are not a dynamic team. We have looked static across the midfield for some time. We came into the game more today in the second half only when Stones began to drive things from the back but we should not be reliant upon a defender to open up space. Since Reid we have not had a driving midfielder. must be a priority in the summer. McCarthy does not bring enough to the table for a top midfielder so far. sideways passing, no penetration. Lennon is an honest trader but not good enough. Cleverly tidy but not the difference. Barry is still our best distributor. Besic will come on in time. Ross is in need of some really good coaching if he is to become a consistent player. Delefeu may develop while Mirallas loses possession too much. Lukaku has deficiencies but brings always a threat. To be just short of top class is the issue for many teams. what Leicester have is a few really good game changers and an organised pack. But our Blues lack defensive know-how and an engine room which can create some space. when we have the ball we only seem to move on the counter, but starting from the centre of the park and we do not create movement or ideas. At times we look clueless. roberto martinez is a nice guy (even if his assessments of games is wide of the mark) and if the axe is to fall, let it be done with the class that United failed to show Mr Moyse.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

24 Apr 2016 07:59:17
I said it before and I will say it again, Stones is not a Centre Back, I believe his true position is in front of the back four, from there he will be able to drive us forward at will.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - stones is not a centre back...never a truer word said 1878..

23 Apr 2016 21:51:21
I know we are gutted, angry, upset and a bunch of other emotions. I am those things but also have new hope for our team.

I thought the second half was a true Everton performance. We were unlucky not to get a winning goal and Lukaku despite his awful first touch and inability to score from the spot for me really put in a hard working performance. You will probably slate for saying it but he did try today and was supportive to his team mates.

Stones still made mistakes but again he worked his socks off. Besic did his best in an unusual position and Gibson was terrific.

For me though Robles and Jags were absolutely outstanding. A true captains performance from Jags and if you wanted to give stones an example of a world class defender well he only had to look left.

Robles is, no sorry, has become an outstanding number 1. We now need an understudy for him not a replacement.

Finally, the manager. I feel for him. I do. However, his time is up. We need a change and I mean genuine change. Not as many people are saying a step into the past with Moyes.

We now need to show our ambition in a new stadium, new players and a new man with new ideas.

I get that some want Moyes back but for me and many others want and need a new beginning.

This team with some good additions can be a success. Let's hold our nerve whilst the board do the deed of relieving the manager and start the process of a bright new beginning.

P. s. To all of our supporters. Give yourselves a massive pat on the back. Simply magnificent.

Agree totally mate couldn't of put it better.

Agree0 Disagree1

24 Apr 2016 01:12:08
I agree also.Robles deserves the no1 spot.jags is a traditional centre half, but I also thought that Stones was our best defender today.besic shouldn't of been full back whdn we have mattioni, holgate, hibbert and Pennington who can play there.Barkley showed passion in second half, but we were a different outfits when Gerry came on.and to be fair we have been a lot more poor defensively since Galloway was dropped for playing well it seems.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Apr 2016 07:45:40
Galloway disappeared after the Stoke game at Christmas, during that game Shaqiri had him in his pocket.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 apr 2016 20:59:49
right positives from game, ye it's there we sore it today, took 60 mins but it's there. the players need to do double fitness training for me.
we all know we have the players and it showed it was to late but it's there, it's a start let's be grateful for that. we know rm is going and as for lakaku if i was him i wouldn't be thinking about chips lg, i would be more concerned bout trapping a ball and getting my first touch sorted.
new manager in and mark my words we will have a brilliant summer, the first in a long while we're we don't haggle over players fees.
we will be top 4 i know it and all our misery will have gone, so let's just enjoy what we can of this season and look to next one

any player in this team who wants to leave and try and do better take a good long look at players who have left and thought the grass is greener have stopped dead in there career s.

Im so, so glad some of you lot from here aren't on the board. Moyes would be a step backwards. Show some ambition.

Saying it'd be different now that he'd have money, completely forgetting that he had a massive transfer kitty at United.

Remind me again what position were Utd in when they sacked him after only 10 months. The fact is it was nothing to do with his ability but his face did not fit, simple as.

Agree3 Disagree2

23 Apr 2016 20:39:14
yes but he only had 6 months and a crap squad.

Agree2 Disagree1

23 Apr 2016 21:14:09
He never got a chance at utd after david gill left the new ceo didn't have a clue when it came to buyin players so moyes missed out on his top targets and ended up wid second best I think he'd do well wid a bigger transfer budget.

Agree0 Disagree1

23 Apr 2016 19:38:59
And Btw, I mentioned Lukaku has had a disappointing season about 6 weeks ago cause he misses too many goals. Well if you are worth 60million surely you can score at least one goal with all the chances you had today. Shocking penalty taker no right foot can barely hold the ball up. Give me count straq any day of the week!

Believable3 Unbelievable0

23 Apr 2016 19:38:45
Well we played better in the second half but I couldn't watch the last few minutes. It is so inevitable that the we lose in extra time I just can't watch it happen. Lukaku was terrible and if he wants to go and anyone is willing to pay 50M pounds then let him go, same for Stones. We can do a lot with 90-100M, however I doubt if any team is stupid enough to pay this type of money for these two.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

23 Apr 2016 20:07:29
Agree to better 2nd half performance but. sub of Gerard d should of been made at half time. running at their defence shit themselves.

Agree1 Disagree0

23 Apr 2016 20:16:34
Ross and John were totally different players 2nd half.
Why?

Agree1 Disagree0

23 Apr 2016 20:19:16
He shouldn't b taking penalty after the West Ham game. Bainsey would have stuck it away he missed only one penalty for club in my memory. Again no leadership from management to ensure best penalty taker hits the penalty. All that shit started when that clown Mirallas took the ball off babies to miss one . Another money crabber for the trap door 😡😡.

Agree1 Disagree0

23 Apr 2016 20:40:30
because, I think they all ignored martinezes instructions.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Apr 2016 21:01:56
Good players, but the freedom only comes when you have a solid defence. Everton don't have that solid defence so these good players are only able to display their talents intermittently.

Agree1 Disagree0

23 Apr 2016 19:29:37
why has bains stopped taking penalties?

Believable3 Unbelievable1

23 Apr 2016 19:42:16
I predict it's the same reason he's bad at free kicks, corners and all set pieces. Martinez doesn't train them!

Agree1 Disagree0

23 Apr 2016 19:45:42
Cos RM gave that job to super striker.

Agree1 Disagree0

23 Apr 2016 19:46:17
Because big head insists on taking them. Must be a Belgian thing.

Agree1 Disagree0

23 Apr 2016 19:51:01
He's said that he wanted Lukaku to build his confidence infront of Goal. And so that he could continue to grow.

I always thought it was risky. You should just have you're best Pen taker on Penalties, but I think this all spurred from the Mirallas vs West Brom incident.

Agree3 Disagree0

23 Apr 2016 19:28:48
Lukaku should never take another pienalty kick again that's 2 he's missed.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

23 Apr 2016 19:39:01
He can take them for PSG as far as I'm concerned.
Missed at least four top class striker sitters and blames Besic for sending a header into row Z .
Bill Dean this clown is after a 60m move, he can't control a ball!
Took over penalty taking from more competent takers.
Ok Mr. Agent,60m thanks.
Actually feel sorry for RM tonight because the above and Cleverley should have seen LVG sacked tonight.

Agree2 Disagree0

23 Apr 2016 19:50:04
Don't think we have to worry about that, he will be off soon and to be honest I'm not bothered. Yeah he is good on his day but his day is very few and far between.

Agree1 Disagree0

23 Apr 2016 20:13:45
Dont agree with that one bit. Had a bad game in front of goal, but he's scored 25 for us this season. He'll be missed if he leaves, don't even pretend otherwise.

Agree0 Disagree1

23 Apr 2016 20:17:27
So whos gunna replace him Niasse Kone?

Agree2 Disagree0

23 Apr 2016 20:37:34
Totally agree lads but please,
He thinks he's worthy of Golden Boot, try learning to trap and control a ball.
He's not Champions League standard he scores goals against crap teams.
In Mouriniho we trust!

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Apr 2016 21:00:49
We've got 60m for him and more.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Apr 2016 22:15:45
It's a hard one to call. Yes, Rom has scored a lot of goals for us this season but he has also missed a lot of 'easy' chances. If he had a better first touch then we would have taken the lead. Really don't understand how Baines was ever taken off penalty duties, think he missed one out of fifteen. Rom has now missed at least two.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Apr 2016 19:28:04
Johnstone should have to buy a standing room only ticket to see the game.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

23 Apr 2016 19:25:28
Right, we played very well second half and gutted we lost but that should now spell the end of Mr Martinez. Far from taking the Club forward - albeit with supposedly the best Squad since the 80's - he has presided over our lowest finishes in 11 years, made proud statements of there is no plan B, doesn't think goals from free kicks and corners are real goals and the worst home record in our 138 year history. Even Mr Kenwright should admit enough is enough.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

23 Apr 2016 19:41:59

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Apr 2016 19:48:37
We didn't play very well second half, we were ok. And ok was a big improvement on the first half.

Agree2 Disagree0

23 Apr 2016 20:17:27
Shogs, said the same thing myself but if he should we will be relegation material next season, it is obvious that RM and his staff have no intention of changing their methods. It really is time to leave but unfortunately Mr Kenwright does not think like the rest of us.

Agree1 Disagree0

23 Apr 2016 22:26:29
totally agree with woburn, we wasn't great 2nd half we just started playing a bit. We looked off the pace until the penalty miss but then we realised we could get at them. Now the cup is over, I hope the board see sense and sack this clown.

If it is to be Moyes then I don't think its all bad. Unfortunately we now have to stabilize the club again after the destruction caused by the current clown. Then we can go onto greater things but until the stability comes there will be no success. We have the financial backing to be great again.
