Don't know what we can actually afford, but dream world for me would be (loan or permanent) Hart/ Leno (Probably Leno) , Kovacic, Bramham, Bony and a centre back. Think we'd really go places with this then. Dreams I know.

Agree kingo. i'd love leno at the club
Think he going to be the next neuer. lamina kone, brahimi, and dare i say it lacazette, would do for me. money talks and i'm not bothered if we have to go 5-10 grand more in wages to secure players that will get us into europe. that's cl not el.

I'd like leon goretka, kovacic, brahimi and kone. As for a keeper I'd take timo horn any day.

Impressed. Thought Ross played well. Bolasie showed glimpses, think if we are to play 3 5 2 the 2 in midfield could be Gueye and Ross then a attacking 4 of Bolasie, Mirallas, Delboy and Lukaku would scare the living day lights out of most defenses.
Mainly I was impressed by the control and calmness of the team. It looks like for the first time in years and years they might have actually developed some belief.

Who's this guy kone? Scored 2. Could be our saviour. Hahaha

Obviously, I jest but if no one will take him off us, maybe it's best to keep him as a squad player. Could play cup games.

Can anyone remember when Lukaku last scored? I think it was on March 5th against West Ham but I could be wrong. If so he did not score in the last ten games and has not scored so far this year. Hopefully he will start scoring today.

Just a quick question fellow blues does anybody know what's happened to the Swiss lad he did interviews at the beginning of the season but hasn't figured yet. And the rumour of Munir from Barcelona would be a brilliant signing hope its true.

Lee 1878,
Several people have asked about the whereabouts of Tarashaj but no answers have been forthcoming. He is not shown on an injured list. Has he perhaps been loaned back to Switzerland again? It's a mystery, this lad was supposed to be a great prospect. Does anybody know anything?

Balotelli - loose cannon, maverick but capable of brilliance. Reminds me a lot of Ben Arfa. IF the right deal can be done is he worth a risk? Could Koeman get the best out of him?

The lad maybe talented but he rarely shows it, too much baggage and trouble follows him everywhere. You would have to be really desperate to go near him so it's a no from me.

Surely better than Niasse? Maybe Kone given his age? West Ham take gambles and they pay off just can't help but feel one club could be the perfect fix for him.

MArgo Gabbiadini was saying we'd be happy if we got who he said we were chasing. He wouldn't say any names but it seemed to me that he could have been making a thinly veiled reference to their similar names. Marco, not Margo btw.

Does anybody feel that the amount of Africans we have bought or could buy will be a serious problem come AFCON. Now before anybody bites my head off I feel that Everton don't have the same large squads as the likes of Chelsea, Utd or the gooners have, so I feel that this will be a big problem. These player Gueye play for good teams that should go far so will be unavailable for some time, maybe.
What do you eds think.

OK, do you know if everton has any interest in him? I noticed in a previous post that you did our interests would depend on Rom, to a question which involved dost. Didn't know whether you meant our interests in general or whether we had any in him.

Brahimi negotiations unlikely to be easy as his economic rights owned by 3rd party.

23 Aug 2016 13:24:22
Also, in regards to a post I made the other day that has fallen off the bottom of the Banter page, I'm not worried we're becoming Liverpool because we're spending lots of money, and I am actually really happy with the signings so far, it was just the link with Brahimi (a player we DON'T need) that worried me a bit.

As I said, we're a few great investments away from shooting up the table, but if we start signing players just because we like the look of them, not because we need them, then we'll do a Liverpool and just tread water. Competition is good in a squad, but having too many players in a position just causes issues.

I'd much rather the money for Brahimi was invested in a solid backup striker, fullback or first team keeper.

That's why RK is manager of EVERTON FC and not you its only your thoughts that we don't need a player like bra him I personally don't think for one minute that RK and ST would bother scouring Europe and England if we did not require the right personal the aquisitions so far have been spot on don't you think let the people in place make the decisions i'm sure they will come up trumps yet again.

Agree1 Disagree0

23 Aug 2016 14:47:36
Your entitled to your opinion Ander Barkley and don't think people are trying to put you down. I understand where your coming from. Imo we don't need anymore CM but it looks like we might sign another.

Truth is we don't know RK's plans. He might intend to sell McCarthy, Gibson and Cleverly and this might be the reason he's looking to bring in another.

If we still had the phenomenal one I would be worried. We have more than capable people recruiting and making the decisions now. Much better than you and I or pretty much anyone on this site. That's why I'm not worried and am looking forward to the coming seasons.

They no doubt will make some mistakes as they are human like everyone. But they are up there with the best at what they do. I have every faith in the team in place.

My advice Ander is sit back and enjoy the ride.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Aug 2016 17:46:09
NBTB I also agree that RK has decided that the midfielders of McCarthy, Gibson and Cleverly are just not up to it. He probably feels the same about Lennon too. As for Niasse and McGeady, I think everyone feels the same. This was the point I used to bang on and on about. Players like these play so many games without actually making a difference. to some degree Lennon did. aand Gibson. but theothers are just efficient players who do not change things. Barry also is a bit like this. But Bolasi and Gueye have the ability to get forwards and scare the opponents defence to you know what. let's hope the signings keep coming in and we change the squad with more quality. Although I think the money is stupid, it is stupid for everyone. I did think we should have had a go for Defour. Burnley got a quality player for 7.1 million. Williams is exactly another we needed. How mny goals did we concede last season from crosses and corners? Loads. At last we do seem to have people making the right decisions for our club.

Agree0 Disagree1

23 Aug 2016 20:53:53
NBTB, I agree that we need a new CM if he does intend on getting rid of McCarthy, Gibson and Cleverly, but Brahimi isn't a centre mid. He's yet another tricky winger. I do agree completely that Koeman being in charge makes me more confident in the moves, but we still have the same scouting staff and there has been far too many terrible signings in the past for me to just blindly believe that everything is now perfect.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Aug 2016 22:35:51
I know Brahimi is a winger. I was using it as an example where I don't agree with players being signed for certain positions. But the point is I don't know RK's intentions. Only he does so therefore he is acting to meet these intentions. I like everyone else am only second guessing.

You mentioned in your original post that you were concerned about signing too many players for the one position. This was what I was referring to.

I'm happy enough as I have every faith in RK.

Degsy the standard has been raised with players but I can't see all 3 going. Seen your positive post the other day. Keep them coning. Have a feeling you will have plenty of opportunities to.

I still think we should go for Hart, to be honest.

Hypothetically, If we signed him permanently, in today's market, I imagine he'd cost around £35m and at 29 he's got around 5 or 6 good years left in him. That means his market price would be around about £7m a year for him, without his wages. Add on to that the fact that I imagine most of our players are on around £3m a year anyway, then just look at it as if we simply have to spend £4m on him and then pay normal wages.

It is a lot of money, but £7m with no actual fee for a keeper who I believe could push us up a level (keeper has been a huge weakness for us for about 5 years) , seems like solid business to me, especially if we're willing to spend around £25m+ on a position we don't need to strengthen as much.

23 Aug 2016 14:27:20
AB Hart is on roughly £7m per year wages I am under the impression the £7M quoted was the minimum for a 1yr loan. We would still have to buy him. He has a couple of years left on his contract at MC so its unlikely he will want to take a pay cut when he can earn £7m per year sitting on his backside.

23 Aug 2016 14:49:20
Don't agree Ander. It simply comes down to this for me. There is far better value out there.

23 Aug 2016 10:33:18
Interesting with Joe Hart situation and shows how a value shows no relation to a player, so man city buy no 1 GK for £17m which makes joe Hart 3rd choice not good enough for them but they want 7 million to loan for season. I think man city at not in a position to negotiate, do they really want to try and win trophies while you have made one of your big players talk of the media and demoted him, if he does not leave he could cause problems he is massive figure for that club and he will want to be playing football. Although I would like him for the right price but have feeling they will want 25-30m for him, which is a big fat no.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

23 Aug 2016 11:43:37
He is on £120K per week so the £7m is mainly covering his wages. Still far too much IMO I wouldn't bother taking him at that price.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Aug 2016 11:55:35
Ideally they want to sell him not loan him out. Due to his high wage I think he will be lucky to find a club willing to take him on.

The city fans don't really care one iota if he stays or if he goes nor does the club, paying his wage does not affect city at all.

Now big Sam has said he would prefer a keeper playing regular football that may change Harts demands for a stupid pay deal, and he may come back down to earth and realise his true worth to a club.

23 Aug 2016 12:49:33
Hart staying at City will be detrimental to both parties!
They somehow don't need an iconic figure moping about the place spreading negativity like 'anti stardust' 🙄

Nor does Hart want to be doing 'jack' for the whole season he knows there are capable English keepers in the wings perhaps a lot more capable that SA has already earmarked secretly 🤐.
