Just back from Tenerife to find we did actually get CA. I hope now we get behind the man (good or bad results to start with) , and give him the time and space he needs to do what we know he can do if he has the funds and support from above and below. I hope FM now takes a backseat from trying to run the club and allow those in the know to do it. There is no reason why we cannot be looking at top 4-6 in time with this guy at the helm. Just one thing. Where is Brands in all this?

Difference now, is that we know we now have someone that has achievement been there and done it on his CV. With his profile it may even help to attract players that otherwise would have ignored us. As you say NickB57, patience is now the key and probably for the forseeable.

new mamager, new year, happy when we finish in the top 10,no rush on signings 2020/ 21 is the season to finish in the top 6.

Top six isn’t actually too far off, 9 points puts us in the mix!
So if Ancelotti gets us playing, if we can address the lack of goals, we could still makes a play for Europe!
I am looking forward to second half if the season! Dunc brought back the love for football, Ancelotti is allowing me to dream again!

Dazza, disagree, mate. Season for that is going to be at least 2021/ 22. This is not a quick fix. Koeman said 2 years. Ancellotti needs at least that.

I'm with DFS here. It's going to take time to get the right players but more importantly for Carlo to get them understanding his tactics.

Personally, we can get closer to 6th next year but the year after really push to be amongst them.

Ed's
Is it at all possible to have a negative free period on all posts?
I honestly cannot believe these so called supporters having a moan already. go and provide your negativity to someone more deserving of it. we need only positive support going forward!
Beggars belief it really does!

{Ed033's Note - It's likely that the moaning won't die down until Klopp leaves L.F.C.

Be less entertaining on here laughing at those who can't see this as the most positive step ever taken by our club.

Agree with that dunc. how can anyone question moshiri this time for appointing Ancelotti? A top top a list manager the best out there available been there done it worn the t shirt got the dvds the type of manager that everyone seemingly has been crying out for since moshiri and his money rocked up at everton. Forget how much money he's going to earn who's bothered we joe public are not paying his wages it's not coming out of my pocket I don't give a toss about what he's earning. As ancelotti says "it's not going to happen overnight" and it's not. If the whole thing goes tits up nobody in there right mind can question moshiri on this appointment. he's gone for the best this time, what people have been asking from him since he came in . and in my opinion the fact ancelotti has signed a long term contract says to me moshiri has decided enoughs enough you're here and here for the long run no matter what. take this project on and build it.

Jimmy - Completely agree mate and for me exactly what we needed to do. Couldn't afford to take a risk on another unproven manager, gone with not only the best available as I'm hearing but one of the best managers over the last 20 years.

we need dogs of war, do we think CA will or can provide that? should have stuck with big Dunc, we haven't got the raw material to play CA's type of football this will end in financial tears i'm afraid.

This appointment will be the making of big Dunc. He will learn from the very best in the world on what managing at the top level is about and what it takes.

I love Dunc but he needs more work on his tactics and more importantly man management.

Well i can tell you that this lot can't be dogs of war Blue Lagoon. Most haven't got the heart for it.
Those days of crunching tackles have also gone (well unless you play for Tottenham) .
Its exactly why City knock it about until the opposition fall asleep and Leicester and Liverpool knock it over the top as often as possible.

Ancelotti has pretty much won everything, though I'm sure I will be corrected if I'm wrong, we get a top manager and people still have a pop! He has obviously seen something we dont, and believes he can take this club forwards, but like he said it will take time we should all show our support and look forward too next season.

How can anybody be criticising CA already? It really does beggar belief. A manager who has excelled in his career, biggest profile to possibly ever grace our club, and a real statement of intent as to where this club hopes to get to. It's an absolute coup!
Perhaps it will go pear shaped, nobody knows, but to write him off already and start the negative jibes on day one of his reign is a disgrace.

{Ed025's Note - i agree mate..

Let’s embrace what CA will bring to the table I think a lot of the squad will know they are on notice for the places if they don’t put a shift in or do what is asked.

Usual dour dross from the usual suspects. Unbelievable.
Seems some would be happier with Sam Alardyce. Thankfully it's just an echo chamber of about 25 blokes, so I doubt anyone needs to take too much notice, even if it is tedious and annoying.

think big dunc has done brilliant in the 4 games since he's been in charge i looked at decembers fixtured was hard to see where we was picking points up but credit to him for getting the players up for it hopefully can pick up 3 points at home against burnley kick start are season c. o. y. b.

I'm loving Carlo's press conference. They've obviously sold him a very exciting project with major promises.

The scope of this type of manager is clear. Even Italian press there asking questions. Never heard one before in any other pressers.

It also sounds like he has an extensive backroom staff coming in as well as Dunc as assistant.

Bring on Burnley!

11.5 million helps to sell a project as well. Just saying.

23 Dec 2019 13:46:10
Absolutely it does. To get the best you have to pay for it. Anyone thinking otherwise is a fool.

It doesn't take away the fact he has been sold a vision. He could have gone somewhere else where champions league football is guaranteed and got a relatively easy ride with a great salary. Instead he's bought into project. Well done to the people at the top at our club for selling it.

Just to be clear BJU Ancelotti said DF would be kept on as AN assistant not as assistant. For all we know there will be many assistants and maybe some more senior than others.
I'm perfectly fine with that - Ancelotti is the manager and has to be able to sort out his team as he sees fit.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Dec 2019 09:01:49
I think it's a little unclear with his position. he likened it to Zidane at real who was his assistant manager.

Whatever is happening its exciting and I can't wait for Burnley.
