Even if ( god forbid ) Kenwright comes out and backs that spanish clown, it's time he came out and express his opinion about the future of our manager, and our club, at the very least, we are owed that much.

Joe royel an tim cahill. Surly your yankin our chain rite

Agree0 Disagree0

Problem is anybody we would want would be available before the end of the season, and unless there is a player revolt nothing will change until its to late, we have 13 games left I believe, and the issue is does this team have the guts for a dog fight during the run in?

So Martinez thinks Howard should take no blame for the two goals yesterday. Well I think Mr Martinez should go and give his head one almighty wobble.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - me too jimmy..

Agreed if a player keeps making mistakes and is kept in, how is a player sat on the bench who has waited all year and although not a fans favourite has performed well ie 3 clean sheets prior to being dropped supposed to have respect for the manager!

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Feb 2015 19:25:51
get harry redknapp in for our last 10or 11 games, he will get much better out of the players we have than what rm can do with them

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - temporary manager yes beano...but harry redknapp?..seriously if he is the best we can come up with..i would rather stick with the fraud mate..

Alex ferguson said he would take temporary charge if we bring moyes back next year

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - tell him to forget it beano..

Ed:

I know what you are saying about Harry

But ''stick with the fraud'' there must be another way mate

otherwise it's 'the one way ticket to beachy head' for me I swear :(

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - nothing is that bad 247, to be honest i cant see bill sacking him anytime soon, so it looks like were stuck with the one dimensional one mores the pity.

Well I would have bought a sneaky return and left me kit on the cliffs

and hoped the sod resigned out of sympathy :)

harry redknapp, jesus christ mate, he's awful, and before people say I don't like anyone, think about it, quit qpr because he didn't sign anyone, always goes for the same players and is tactically clueless, give me moyes back over him

Agree0 Disagree0

Are people blind to what Harry has achieved honestly he would be last on my list anyone over him

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - me too coby..

get rm out now, harry redknapp in for our final games, he would do well with a good bunch of players that rm can't handle

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - come on bretto...surely you can do better than harry mate?..

23 Feb 2015 19:42:29
harry did it with spurs a few years back and its a very similar squad with us

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - his eyes have gone..so have his knees..and his brain is not too clever, so its a no from me beano mate..

We haven't got the funds to waste on players harry "spendalot" redknapp isn't going to touch us with a barge pole.

Well after Europe the other night which I thought was an outstanding performance I was expecting our league form to kick on yesterday, but could not believe we did not win that game, Howard should be dropped at fault for both goals and likely should of had at least 3 and that's being kind at the end of the day Martinez could not do much more than what we did yesterday he can't be accountable for likely wasting chance after chance.
One big plus boy how we miss darron Gibson still our best midfielder he played some wonderful passes that split there defence I think him and McCarthy should be the 2cm Besic will get better but still learning English game

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Trueblue, RM could have done a lot more. He should have realised early doors that it is impossible to break down a back five with four in midfield protecting them by playing through the middle.
Lennon should have been instructed to play wide with Atsu wide on the other flank in order to get round the back to stretch and pull defenders out of position.
It would have enabled space to be created for Lukaka and either Barkley or Naismith, whichever one was preferred and not subbed, to run into the space created.
It would also help if we moved the ball forward quicker as we did against Young Boys.
Howard should be replaced by Joel, Baines is a shadow of the player he was and Oviedo offers a lot more both defensively and going forward, Lukaku needs to go to spec savers and Barkley needs some stamina training. Oh and on the subject of training RM needs to brush up on tactical know how, woeful.

After a great EL victory midweek yesterday was the perfect opportunity to build against a poor team in the bottom three, how annoying that we did not take that opportunity and are now looking at two tough away games that could really throw us deeper into the mire!

23 Feb 2015 16:28:40
Yesterday was shocking. Having to sit in the rain and watch our players pass the ball from GK to CB, from CB to LB, from LB to CB, from CB to RB.you all get the gist. What has happened to our team? Last year, with mainly the same players, we knocked it about well in all parts of the pitch. This season we don't seem to want to commit a forward pass, unless we are playing in Europe. RM has to take the responsibility for making every player in our squad seem average at best. I know a lot of you are slating the likes of Rom, Ross, Baines and Coleman but, if you are honest, these haven't become bad players over the summer. Playing people out of position doesn't do much for confidence but the manager is too stubborn to do anything about it, preferring to stick with his methods even though they are obviously not working. I felt sorry for Joel when dropped but could also see the reasoning behind it. TH is first choice and was always going to go straight back in. After yesterday, I have to agree with Swan. Tim was at fault for both goals and should now find himself on the bench. That won't happen but it should. I don't think Joel is the answer, he has had just as many dodgy games as he has had good ones, but he deserves a chance to fight for the jersey. If RM continues to play his favourites then we could lose some decent players in the summer. What has Besic got to do to get a full game? He has looked tidy all season, when called upon, but is either left out of the team or gets subbed nearly every match.
It is going to be a struggle to get to the 40 mark, I just hope there are 3 teams who are worse than us come May and then we can regroup and sort out this mess. Personally, I've had enough of RM, his tactics, his stubbornness and his ability to make interviews so embarrassing. But there is nobody out there right now who we could turn to. Any serious ideas lads?
Yesterday was the first time ever that I found myself wondering why I actually went to the game, from 5 minutes in I just wanted to be in front of the fire, anywhere but Goodison. I've sat through some terrible games, watched managers out of their depth (Walker springs to mind) but nothing seems as boring as the way we now play. No penetration, no urgency just tap the ball sideways and bore the opposition in to submission. Something needs to be done, we are a club in free fall with this blag artist in control

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We'll be ok that world beater cleverly is signing on a free in summer lol

{Ed025's Note - that would be the icing on the cake jonsey..

Problem solved then Jonesy!

Agree0 Disagree0

Spud it's been the same all season it's no shock to me that we couldn't break down bottom of the league we have had a lot of the bottom clubs at home and haven't been good in any of the games, it's unthinkable that the same team can be so bad in the space of 6 months

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Feb 2015 17:01:55
Without doubt, Mike, we have been terrible this season. I was more shocked at how bad we become since the euro game on Thursday! Really expected us to take the game to Leicester, more fool me eh. The fact we have become so bad, boring to watch etc has to be down to RM. The buck stops with him so it would be nice to hear him be less positive after such drab games. He's fooling nobody, we can see how poor we have become, especially in the league, so he needs to man up and talk sensibly in his interviews

A disappointing day yesterday to say the least, at least Roberto has come out and said it wasn't good enough 'pedestrian' it's a sign of how teams are going to play against us, we need to find a way to break them down which we did but poor mistakes costing us again. In hindsight we could say we should have rested rom and played Kone but rom should have been high in confidence after Thursday. I don't know how Barkley can be so different from Thursday as if he is on edge playing at goodison with the tension in the ground. I feel sorry for Robles I am sure Howard can't keep his place for much longer if he keeps making these mistakes but Roberto is not going to come out and criticise him in public like Brenda did. A positive was Gibson in midfield trying to go fwd bit disappointed with Besic McCarthy partnership tbh. Lennon looked a threat and think Coleman looks more positive. In my opinion when we play weaker teams especially at home we should play 1 defensive midfielder and the other either Barkley or osman. With a bit more attacking threat because we usually have most of the play but need that something extra and believe 1 covering midfielder is ample. We proved Thursday that we can still do it and I still believe even if I am the minority that's my opinion. I compare the luck we had yesterday compared to the reds is unreal. Does anyone else think maybe all our luck is going to the Europa and just maybe it might be our year we may not have the best team in the comp but our name is on the cup. If LFC can win the CL with Traore maybe just maybe it could happen. Forever the optimist.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We should not rely on luck!

With this squad we should be beating teams like Leicester who,

reality check here, are fodder for established PL teams.

Imho 'luck' is a fickle friend in football for everyone.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree with Robbie at home we do not need 2 def mids sat in front of the back 4, one is enough, maybe 2 up front and keep their back 4 under more pressure.
Leicester were not good but they grew in confidence as we pussy footed around the edge of our own box and kept giving possession away! its not luck we need its confidence!

Agree0 Disagree0

I didn't say we should rely on luck! just saying big moments in games when things don't go your way make a difference and maybe our luck will change and the times we least expect it. Some may say you make your own luck and it does not excuse poor performances. I think if we would have got an early goal yesterday everyone would have relaxed players and fans and would not have been surprised if we would have scored a few but football is like that and just goes to show how big confidence plays a part in the game. Another point I would love to see Mirallas and Lennon on the wings and I have said Naismith and Barkley can't play in the same team because both like to come inside for the ball, but they did against YB and played outstanding and nobody criticised then its easy to do when we get beat. I am starting to think the players are not relaxed playing at home and each game the tension grows, when things are good its good we getting like Newcastle!

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Feb 2015 16:01:27
Weak points in our team - Howard and Barkley - Barkley just does not seem to know how to pick a pass or create a goal when we hit the wall at 30 yeards out - they've got all their defenders and mids back and we just huff and puff outside the area not knowing what to do

add to that the fact that Howard is starting to resemble Southall in his final days - and we are having to score 3 to win a game
(Big Nev was a legend but in his lasst two seasons he conceded 2 goals per game - and that's why we were nearly relegated

The name of Bilic has been mentioned as a possible future Everton manager. At the moment West Ham are not making a decision on their manager till the end of the season as to whether Alladyce stays or goes. Bilic is very high in the betting to replace him and also Dave Moyes if the need arises. Some talk could be earlier if Besiktas are eliminated from the euro cup.

Regarding Martinez, I remember Dave Whelan having a big smile on his face when it was announced Martinez was leaving that club. There was no sign of disappointment at all. Probably pleased. The biggest concern was that Martinez stated he was not the person who could get Wigan promoted back to the Premiership. He is so far proving he is not the person to keep Everton in the Premiership.

Way things r going rm will most prob tell bk to get paul jewel to replace him

Believable0 Unbelievable0

If - and its a big "if" - BK decides to call it a day with RM, what are the odds that we get Sam Allardyce instead - especially as he doesn't appear set to stay at the Hammers? Frying pan and fire come to mind!

Agree0 Disagree0

At least they play decent football and have a plan B! Martinez clueless at the moment and needs to be replaced asap.

seen a lot of people calling some fans crazy for wanting martinez sacked

statitstics don't lie - were in deep shit - we have every right to want the best for the club we love and I agree with everyone of you who want him gone, first season I loved him but it was basicaly still moyes squad and way he played was in them now its gone to shit were shocking

he got wigan relegated ffs!

he needs to go now or we will be joining them

get alan stubbs in with royle and big dunc supporting

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Dazza:

With you all the way mate

However not sure about the replacement team, even though they are all club legends and would run through the proverbial ''brick wall'' for us etc.

We are now getting closer to the time when we will need a proven relegation stopper with recent experience preferably!

Agree0 Disagree0

Ps- howard needs dropped - 4 goals in 3 matches conceded - joel 0 goals in 3 the poor lad didn't deserve to get dropped and shows you how clueless rm is

'The way he played was still in them', I disagree, last season we played more attractive football then any season under moyes, I doubt they would magically play that way all of a sudden after he left. I think we are doing bad because every team in the league knows what we are doing each game and we are predictable. He has no plan b and his positivity is beiginning to scare me, players like baines and coleman not trying hasn't helped but still, he's mostly to blame, I don't know who I want to replace him, certainly not duncan disordely.

Agree0 Disagree0

Swan you are dead right on this one!
The game yesterday cried out for a change of tactics, but we plugged on and went behind before the equaliser which at that point tactics were out of the window and desperation had set in!

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm stating the obvious here surely (so apologies!), but there are many aspects as to how individual footballers (and a team as a whole) plays and gets results: physical, psychological, technical, tactical, organisational, etc., etc., but, as far as I'm concerned, it's the manager who has to prepare the players in all of those aspects in order to get the best out of them. If the players aren't doing it, then it's the manager who has to make the changes on the field (plan B, substitutions, etc.) and off the field (transfers, developing young players, etc.).
Whatever we all say about the players (and posters on here clearly have strong views!), it's the manager who clearly is responsible for the team's style of play, the performances, and ultimately the results - and it's BK and the board who are absolutely responsible for the appointment and retention or dismissal of the manager. We, the unbelievably loyal and suffering fans, give our unconditional support to the club and to all those who give 100% for it (be they players, coaches, other staff, etc.) and we, as ticket-buying fans, just ask that those in power listen to our heartfelt concerns. Is that too much to ask - even in these days when massive TV money and prize money provides the bulk of the club's income rather than ticket sales?
Once a blue, always a blue!

harry redknapp would be a good choice for our last 10 games, think he could steady the ship with a good bunch of players

Agree0 Disagree0

Sid:

'' our heartfelt concerns''

I am of the opinion that BK is oblivious to any of these concerns

and now regards himself as the all wise all knowing and understanding of all matters regarding Everton Football Club full stop.

''even in these days when massive TV money and prize money provides the bulk of the club's income rather than ticket sales?''

They will never replace the real fan for the much needed adrenalin rush the players all crave for .

Take away the people the flesh and blood supporters and that spells EXIT from the top flight in ultra quick fashion!

BK we are more important to EFC

than you and your obstinate pseudo loyalty towards a bum steer manager!

Blue247: In addition to what I posted, I agree with your point about the atmosphere that a vociferous crowd brings and the way they can enthuse the players.
Just like TV channels add canned laughter to (so-called) comedy shows, I dread the prospect of sports channels having to add canned crowd noise in the future in order to create atmosphere at poorly attended fixtures! Surely that'll never happen?

To all our players who come out with statements like I want to play in champions league or I want to be at a big club. Get a mirror look at yourself and ask have your performances this year been good enoug to deserve to play in the champions league.

Also maybe the club should issue a statement in responce to these players such as if the players at this club are not good enough or consitent enough to deliver european football to everton we will have to look at players who could be brought in to replace the current players we have and take us to the next level.

I think players forget that their poor performances are the reason we are where we are.

Not the performance everton football club would want the day before season tickets go on sale. Even though i'm renewing mine tonight haha.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Seanmcc1985: And there's the nub of it - even if we are very unhappy with the performances and results, we are "addicted" to our club and will renew season tickets! I wonder if the club takes this for granted - I genuinely don't think they do. Even in this modern age of tickets being a minor income compared to TV money, season ticket sales still contribute. Besides, it's key to Everton that we have capacity crowds rocking Goodison Park and creating an atmosphere that drives on the team.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Feb 2015 08:21:38
To be honest in the cold light of day we can complain about RM the team etc, but yesterday despite a real lack of intensity or pace to our game, a lot goes down to individual performances in the most crucial areas, namely Howard flapping at 2 crosses resulting in their goals and lukaku having a really 'off' day in front of goal!
They don't excuse the overall performance against a poor Leicester side, but highlight the fact that the team still look devoid of all confidence and direction despite a great performance midweek!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Got to agree with this we were already top of the individual mistakes leading to goals table and Howard has just contributed two more. The players need to take responsibility.

Well I think I'm done.

If that bloke stays in charge, even if we stay up, I can't justify spending hard-earned cash watching that. There is no enjoyment or even anticipation on match days -- it's just a chore. I'm sure I won't be missed and the two good seats we have will be snapped up in no time.

I have never, ever, felt so despondent in my 57 years even around the 'Wimbledon' fiasco. And having probably one of the best squads in our history makes things worse. The man just doesn't know what he's doing.

I said many months ago we were in trouble and I know a lot more now say the same but I hope I'm wrong and we do manage to stay up. If we go down and miss the new sky money we'll never get back. There should be one aim over the next couple of years and that is to stay in the premiership. The gulf that will open up between those in and those left out will be massive and the days of a billionaire takeover are long gone - not that it involved us anyhow :-/

I hope to god Kenwright is not just trying to save a £10m payout now when staying with Martinez may cost him hundreds of millions in the near future.

A final thought! The season tickets for the 2015/16 premiership season go on sale tomorrow. wonder if there will be anything about relegation refunds in the terms and conditions :-
