Just a thought John Stones, First of all I will be devastated if he leaves
1. He is going to be world class
2. He's got a few years on his contract so no need to sell even for silly money, Chelsea know he is worth it
3. Euro 2016 next year Terry Cahill & even Zouma will make it harder for him to play, he should give us atleast 1 more season.

{Ed025's Note - im with you mate..i just hope the club are..

Funnily enough its all gone every quiet regarding Stones, media hype after JM comments and EFCs supposedly get lost response. Stone is going nowhere, this season

Does anyone know if any clubs are looking at Terrence Kongolo?

Would love us to sign him

I agree.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Jul 2015 08:49:33
Kongolo is a very good young player, but he's good in the Eredivise. Its like the Mangala situation. Looks good in a lesser league.

Also, like the Mangala situation, he will most likely (if he is any good) go to a top club.

23 Jul 2015 20:21:56
We should enquire about Che Adams from Sheff untd
I know it's a big step up to the prem but from what I've seen of him he looks like a top young player

Probably wouldn't cost loads and can play behind the striker aswell as upfront.

He's only 19 so there would still be a sell on value if it didn't work out aswell so it may be worth a little enquiry

I'm hearing Everton are in talks with west ham over the transfer of Kevin mirallas, Everton will then look to shaqiri as a replacement .

Both have attitude problems but after the way Kev is I'd sell!

Believable0 Unbelievable1

23 Jul 2015 17:27:44
Tbh I would like to keep him only on a new contract tho

23 Jul 2015 17:27:50
Laughable thought mirallas wanted a move to a champs league club

Agree2 Disagree0

23 Jul 2015 19:10:43
I cannot work him out sometimes! he looks great in spurts and then cannot be arsed i'm thinking he wants to be anywhere but EFC and that peno incident did it for me last season and will never see him in the same light again. Bye Kev.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Jul 2015 20:11:09
Yeah sell Kevin great plan. as if we don't have enough problems in terms of scoring goals. KM and Lukaku are our only consistent goalscorers, both always a threat, yes KM goes quiet sometimes, but you know if he gets a chance he'll usually take it. None of our midfielders offer goals, Mirallas scores and assists. everyone can have their opinion on his attitude, I personally don't have a problem with it but regardless, we can't afford to lose his attacking talents.

Agree4 Disagree0

23 Jul 2015 22:08:10
Been saying this for ages PB7771. RM signs non scoring players (Lukaku aside). Which is why last season was a disaster. Lukaku went long periods without scoring, so we didn't score many.

Agree1 Disagree0

23 Jul 2015 22:38:13
True Degs, not to mention Mirallas and Lukaku dove tail really well. I would be gutted if Mirallas left. I've just watched west ham, and even before they scraped past maltese opposition pens, they had no chance of signing Mirallas. Very poor side.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Jul 2015 23:03:33
End of the day PB7771 it's a business players come and go for money and we as EFC fans know by now not to get attached to any good players.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Jul 2015 23:05:27
If Super Kev does go, Shaquiri looks on paper as a like for like replacement and he certainly fits with what Bobby admires as an 'arrogant' player. Only trouble is he currently looks like a barrel with arms and we already have a chubby clumsy winger on the books in the form of Michael Flatley McGeady. I also think that with Shaquiri we'd probably see a few more examples of penalty hogging. Really think that Lennon would be a better replacement, as he has already proven he'd work his socks off.

Agree2 Disagree0

23 Jul 2015 23:46:54
Barrel with arms lol! priceless but Lennon would be my choice also.

I have to say this and I know some of the responses I will get. Mirrallas was quite superb under Moyes. His attitude has changed under RM and I think this is the crux of the matter. Eto'o had an attitude problem with RM. Distin had an attitude problem with RM. And now Mirrallas has an attitude problem with RM. Does anyone else notice a trend here? And these are the ones making the press. imagine what other stuff is going on that we don't know or hear about. I understand that a winning team is a happy team. and we had a poor season last.but unrest is unrest.

Agree2 Disagree1

24 Jul 2015 18:27:05
Lukaku allegedly together with couple of others have already come out & said their unhappy being played out of position.
Lukaku should be main striker not out on the wing.
OK it worked a treat once when he played out wide season b4 last when we beat the gunners 3-0 but ain't worked since & becomes isolated with no impact whatsoever.

OR: Pugh, Pugh, Barney McGrew, Cuthbert, Dibble and Grub (all on free transfers I believe)

24 Jul 2015 02:25:52
I like those players dentie but for me it would have to be berahino instead of austin. The other three would be absolutely class. But we would also need another cb so maybe someone like Vidic to make a solid three cbs to rotate.

From the sounds of it now it seems like we perhaps really aren't negotiating a fee with Jose and Chelsea. We've sent them a letter telling them to piss off but apparently "that doesn't rule out a deal for the player". I guess poor little Jose is just confused about how he isn't able to buy whatever players he wants from "smaller clubs like Everton". But in all seriousness I do have a cheeky feeling that we truly do not want to sell this time and that this is all paper talk fueled on Chelsea's end. I really hope that I am right.

Believable3 Unbelievable2

23 Jul 2015 17:04:18
You are deluded clearly.

Agree0 Disagree2

23 Jul 2015 20:02:08
Can't see why he is deluded, TOT. JM has come out and said they have not made a second bid, him and Cahill talking about Stones in the press is to unsettle the player more than anything. Maybe they were hoping the lad would throw in a transfer request on the back of their tapping up? Until told otherwise, Stones is still our player so all the moaning and groaning from sections of our fans is futile. Stop using a derisory bid as a rod to hit the board/manager with, they had a bid turned down and don't want to offer anywhere near what he is worth to us. Not 100% the lad is leaving is it?

Agree1 Disagree0

23 Jul 2015 21:44:37
I saw that both Terry and Cahill said Stones would be mad not to join Chelsea but did either of them think that if he did it would be one of them giving up his place for stones to play (my bet would be Cahill) so seem a little daft to me and if stones is going to sit on the bench at chelsea until Terry hangs up his boots he would be putting his Euro 2016 place in jeopardy so I say stay where you are loved Mr Stones.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Jul 2015 02:29:22
It's ok lads, It's difficult to take guys like ToT seriously when it's more than slightly obvious that he's a Chelsea fan who isn't used to not getting what he wants, and especially when his profile picture is whatever that is. I think Friday will be very telling in terms of this saga but I'm confident now that Martinez will stand firm.

23 Jul 2015 13:37:31

He's suffered from injuries since that first season at Swansea and he had an unproductive loan period last season (possibly at Napoli?) where he was pretty poor. I'd pass on taking him to be honest, got to be better value for money players out there

23 Jul 2015 23:09:53

23 Jul 2015 11:42:39
So a little over two weeks to go til the season starts and we bought 1 player worth 3 mill and a free transfer hmm and we are looking to improve on our 11 th place finish last year, is it any wonder why there is a lot of doom and gloom around this club. Oh forgot to mention Henen, not that he will have any involvement this season, where the hell is the money? It's not like we have the biggest wage bill in the league or biggest squad so where is the money going. All the teams around us are spending and spending well I really fear for Everton I really do I would love to know what's going on behind the scenes but then again I would have a better chance of the yanks telling us the truth behind Area 51 than our board telling us the truth oh dear this is normally an exciting time for me with the new season around the corner but now I'm dreading it how can they even show there heads in Goodison cause if I was one of our board members I would be ashamed but then again why should they worry cause we are only Evertonians we just take what we are given and never ask for more, the Reds spend 32 mill on Benteke and most of there fans seem to be fuming personally I don't know why because I think the player is quality we are falling way too far behind now and it's nearly getting to the point of no return cause if we go down I don't think we will get back up for a long time.

With respect to any payment for Stones. Don't understand the 'hope it's not justing wiping out lukaku's debt' concern. To make a deal like that for Lukaku in the first place they would have to get approval from creditors. If they get that forward debt wiped, the club has that equity, spending or borrowing power again, at least to the same level as the wiped debt. However the money is provided IF they sell Stones, they will only be restricted by CHOOSING not to spend it, or at the very least, to negotiate deals with payment terms (which these days is standard practise). So not sure why this is even a discussion point?

Believable3 Unbelievable1

23 Jul 2015 10:55:38
This is not just about stones but all English players that have been developed by clubs outside top 4, these managers like mourinho who say big clubs yea right your a big club now because of your wealthy owner but before he came in were Chelsea bigger than Everton I don't thinks so anyway my point is for all the money Chelsea, Man City or even Everton now when was the last time they produced any decent English talent John terry was las time they produced which is awful considering their resources so how come clubs like Southampton can churn them out time and time again it's sickening when I see Southampton get ripped to pieces cause bigger clubs come along and say thankyou very much we will take them now, those clubs should take a hard look at there selfs and ask why aren't we producing these kids, pundits saying why aren't England producing enough talent well answer is simple the prem so called elite clubs are not producing them so our national team are relying on the clubs with don't have the financial backing there is your problem,

Do you guys believe Everton are very quiet on the Transfer Rumours playing there cards close to their chest and have specific targets in mind so prices are not inflated or we are just content with what we got?

Believable2 Unbelievable1

23 Jul 2015 13:48:24
I've been meaning to write a post like this for a while. I have a feeling that Martinez does have specific targets and is content to wait until the deadline to get deals done for the right price. Ogbonna was a main target but we missed out on him, and now I've no idea who Martinez has identified in his stead. We have obviously got a budget larger than 4 million so we still have money to spend, so I'm not going to panic yet and try to hang on to however much faith I've got in martinez.

See what you are getting at though Rob, he does deserve a wage increase to reflect how good he is, he will be getting distracted if he knows Chelsea are willing to pay him 90k a week, anyone would, he seems well grounded so would probably be buzzing if he was upped to 60k, I think he is staying after JM comments stating they have not put 2nd bid in so our board must be looking at a wage increase for the lad

If all the media rumours are true, then Stones has gone, just a case of for how much! But ffs Martinez lose the Wigan softspot link. the papers are saying Moses to be offered as part of the deal.another no-hoper. no thanks. He's even sending our young players on loan to Wigan to let them gain experience etc. Everton seem incapable of signing anyone and we have lost out on some really decent players already.I have already stated that in my opinion, if Stones goes to Chelsea or City for that matter, that will convince Mccarthy & Coleman of our Clubs complete lack of ambition, and they will look to move on if Utd & Spurs come knocking again.Martinez only seems to look at Wigan & Barca. If what we saw against Arsenal last week is anything to go by, then we are in serious trouble for the season ahead.Lose the Wigan mentality & quick.

Anyone know what would happen regarding the fee for Stones, should he be sold to Chelski? Would they expect any part of the payment to clear the debt for Lukaku, or is that a totally separate, set in stone deal? If not, this could be the nightmare scenario for Kenwright, as we'd see bugger all money come in for this window, whilst losing one of our best players. Might explain the current silence. If United or the arse came in for Stones, would blue Bill sell him in a heartbeat for £30 Mil+, but because it's Chelski he's over a barrel? Wasn't there a rumour about the Lukaku deal that Chelski got first dibs on Barkley, should we opt to sell him? This whole business is very unsettling and other than (hopefully) Stones staying, every other scenario seems like it would be a no win situation for the board, the team and the fans. This is doing my head in. This Stones saga highlights everything that's wrong with football today. I think I need another hit of laughing gas! Pass it over Wojciech!
